DNS can be flaky, and the referral program isn’t as good as it used to be. The upstream provider also doesn’t seem as fast as others I’ve used before. I think this might be a GSL-related issue, as I’ve had similar experiences with providers like Launtel and Leaptel routing vs everyone else is around 5-10ms so not ground shaking difference.
On the positive side, the owners are fairly upfront about the issues they face, which I appreciate. For context, I’m on FTTP with a UniFi setup and consider myself fairly technical. Unfortunately, I don’t see a strong reason to stay.
It’s also worth noting that if you’re a non-technical user, Neptune probably isn’t the best fit—it could be a confusing internet provider to deal with. However, if you’re more technical, you might appreciate what they offer. That said, many of their features like Atmosphere DNS, are things you can set up yourself, so they’re not really a major value add. Their VPN offering also runs over Akamai (Linode) virtual machines, so you might be better off just using a dedicated service like NordVPN.

support has been outstanding. They are quick to respond and genuinely helpful. When I had an issue with an IP range being blocked, they changed my IP without hesitation and actively worked to resolve the issue. During overseas cable outages that caused routing problems, they even provided a VPN option so customers could avoid higher latency.
They offer multiple support options, including live chat, email, and recently added phone support. I mainly use chat and email and have always had a good experience. The free static IP, ad blocking DNS, and included VPN are great extras. Their online portal works well on all devices, including phones.
The Discord community is another big plus. The team is friendly, approachable, and happy to engage with customers. I did experience a short outage a couple of months ago due to a hardware issue, but it was resolved in under an hour.
The only improvement I would like to see is clearer updates communication around NBN outages, which they have said they are working on. Overall, Neptune has been fantastic and I would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and well supported internet provider.

administrative changes like Neptune's upcoming switch to a different login service. I respect this level of communication and transparency from this company, as they don't treat me like a child or "just another consumer" like other internet providers do. In this respect, their service and brand are unique.
Plan speeds are consistent with little drop, even going a little over the speed allowed to me (i.e. every so often i would get 780/55 on the 750/50 plan). I have since upgraded to the 1000/50 plan because I deem this service worth it.
Overall, I'm astounded by Neptune Internet and will continue to use them going forward, provided they keep up the good work!

Neptune is hands down the best internet provider I've had. There service and support blows away any other providers. Any service upgrades are well informed and happens seamlessly. let me know via email on a Sunday that there were options to get around this and if it wasn't for me getting sidetrack with house stuff I would of had the connection sorted within 30 minutes. After downgrading my current connection James did say it might take a few hours and better of to try again tomorrow he still gave it a another crack when I asked (I'm sure he knew it wouldn't work) but we got there. performance was great, getting lower latency than with my previous provider, and reaching 100% of my advertised speed even at peak evening times. So far I have not had a single issue (which for anything NBN is pretty incredible), the lads over at Neptune have been more than helpful with my queries about the service, and including a trial period in this economy is very confidence inspiring. While the cost comparison can be quite daunting at first, you really do get what you pay for, I would pay 10x over for a connection that just works, real people you can talk to, and a solid network that actually meets the expectations listed on the website. with specific and technical things to try. It was an issue on my end and a couple of reboots of the NTD and my router fixed everything.
The Neptune team appears to be very proactive and knowledgeable about networking, which is a great advantage since I work in the technology/networking sector myself so it was infinitely better than talking to a random customer service agent at other NBN providers (don't ask me how I know).
I cannot recommend them enough, I am in NSW and am getting speeds now around 930 down and 49 up - I cannot complain at all.
