When will Nespresso make replacement lids for their coffee mugs available?

Mickyfinn

I would love to be able to find a replacement lid for the 345ml stainless travel mug,I must have used it thousands of times and have become quite attached to it, it has been with me for 1000,S of km on my walks in my top pocket, it has collections stamped on the bottom I think they call it Nespresso touch in the uk.

The sub par hard to get lid is what is known as "planned obsolescence"

I have 4 mugs and my husband keeps snapping off the closure on the lid. So frustrating that we can't buy replacements. They expect us to buy the whole thing again.

Absolutely, I’ve used mine 1000’s of times and it always goes back in the dishwasher.

Does the mug seal so that it will not leak when tipped or put in a bag?

Jas
Jas

yes it seals pretty well but I have not personally used in a bag.

The screw on lid provides a great seal but there is a flip top part of the lid which covers the drink hole. this clicks into place quite well, and may prevent a large spill if tipped over breifly, but I definitely wouldn't trust this as a seal if it was loose in a bag, more for preventing splashes etc e.g. if its getting bumped around in a car drink holder.

Yes but after several years of use, the rubber stopper does wear out and then it will leak and unfortunatley it looks like you can buy replacement lids, mine has been everywhere with me and I’ve become quite attached to it ☹️☹️ But now it leaks a bit and I can’t find a new lid

How long does it keep it hot?

KellieL

I put some hot water into the mug to warm it up before I make my coffee and it keeps it hot for my 30 minute commute to work

Jas

If I put a lid on. it easily keeps it hot for more than hour and without lid more than half an hour

Keeps coffee hot for well over an hour with lid on. Basically this thing is like a mini thermos. Its obviously well insulated, outside never gets hot from boiling water inside. I think most of the heat is lost through the lid which provides a good seal but not as well insulated. Just have to be careful if like me you make a coffee for the morning commute. Still can be too hot to drink by the time I get to work 45 mins later!

I can make one in the morning and it's still warm at lunch time

Is it possible to use it directly in the Lattissima Pro to have a capucchino "to go"?.

cazan

I use mine to take coffee to work. I use 2 pods as it holds maybe 1.5 cups. No problems making it with the lattissima although mine isn't pro.

How easy are they to clean?

cazan

Hi Sandra, I use mine 4 days a week, every week and simply wash it with the rest of the dishes in hot soapy water. No stains, discolouring or scratches. Still looks new. LOVE IT:)
