Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Questions & Answers
I have extremely oily skin This product made my skin red, itchy and flaky in 2 washes My skin is burning and I got red peeling patch all over my face Instead of healing it made my face more worse It should be Banned I am crying with my face now . If any one can help me how to heal it , please do.
It’s a horrible nasty product. Try going to the chemist to get some sort of allergy relief. They may even give you Phenergan. Cold wet face washes also, water only.
Can I use coconut oil to help my skin from being so dry from this ?
Why the fcuk did this make my face peel and dry? Will my skin go back to normal,???? Or is it just gonna stay like this ? I would never buy this again because of what it’s done to my face
Hi Brooklyn, i had the same issue. This will be okay. I tried quite a few things and but what actually worked was - wash face with cetaphil and apply paw paw ointment/vaseline which gives intense moisture to skin. Might want to re do this every 2-3 hour it will be back to normal. Dont use any makeup , plane things make it normal. Hope you get well soon xoxo
Why would this product cause your lips to swell and appear burned and whst should we do? It started on Wed and still this way today. And nothing is helping
Need advise on how to get rid of the burning sensation, sand like bumps and inflammation on my face ASAP! Please can someone help?
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Even some coconut oil would be great. I did aloe Vera and then a thick fragrance free moisturiser!
I thought I’d try this in hopes of clearing my face up. BIG MISTAKE. At first it made my skin feel pretty nice, but it just got progressively more and more itchy but I passed it off as my skin healing (you know how wounds itch when they heal) I realised that something was off when I used it last night and my bridge piercing swelled and went RED (it’s years old and has never done this) and low and behold I wake up this morning and my eyes are so puffy it looks like I’ve been punched in the face. I don’t even have sensitive skin and no allergies that I’m aware of. I’d probably be better of if I washed my face in acetone. Only use this is you want to completely waste your money or you’re a masochist or something. Minus 20 out of 10.
What did everyone who had a reaction do to get rid of it?
And how long did it take?
I have used this wash 2x and now my face like everyone else is red, the skin under my eyes is sooo dry flakey and stings, my lips hurt, I woke with eyelids swollen like I had been punched in the face.. HELP!
Use nothing but sorbolene and wash your face with water! It went away in a couple of days after I used a lot of sorbolene
Yes I agree. This is such a crap formulation, salicylic acid is strong enough without the other harsh ingredients. This is like washing your face with Sodium Hydroxide. Use glycolic acid (later on) its much better and I believe more effective it can't damage skin like salicylic (BHA) can.10 to 20 percent AHA concentration in a stable acidic base with compatible compounds, will have (over time) equivalent keratolytic effect without the suffering. They should be ashamed of this toxic, corrosive, molecular mess, they know acne is distressing enough and they trade on a pseudo scientific brand identity to flog this. Try cortisone it can help reduce inflammation, moisturise etc. This face remover is effective, apparently, at removing blackheads(keratin plugs, blocked pores) not for inflammed, irritated, over reactive acne skin.
