5 Paul A  · Big thanks to Deanna from the South Melbourne store for helping me with a laptop charger issue that was stressing me out. She was extremely helpful!
1 Steve  · No phone help. I find this attitude towards customers very arrogant. So we are ordering more online with other stationery companies.
5 Kim C.  · I found Jay at Officeworks Launceston to be very helpful when I required some assistance with phone charging devices.
5 Moji  · Thanks a lot to Annaliese today. She was so helpful and made my day by being so lovely . Officeworks Doncaster , Thanks
1 Jess H.  · Refused to price match despite meeting criteria, even after pointing out the criteria was meet
1 ConsumerRights  · Disgusting. Refused to price match. And refused to respond to two complaints.

unfortunately 2 visits to print a poster same store - Osborne park, both times after 1 hour no poster. I thought the incompetence displayed on the first visit could not have been topped, yet with a smile and no care in the world office works exceeded expectations. Show details

Went in to purchase a specific hard drive, and found the empty box with no trouble. I then spent the next 15 minutes looking for a couple of other items that I needed before heading to the till. The woman at the check out told me that they didn't have it in stock, and when I pointed out that there were several boxes on the shelf the staff member… Read more

quickly advised they aren't allowed to remove the boxes and have to leave them on the shelf. She did offer click and collect which I wasn't interested in, then tried to call another store that was open but found its phones were off and unable to confirm the stock. Her final suggestion was a different store over 12 km away, at which point I said I would sort it out myself. The original alternative store never had their phones available, however I called the 2nd store she suggested and got an answering machine with a stock availability option, which directed me to their website or I could give my mobile number......for a link to their website to be texted to me.

OfficeWorks wasted my time and efforts because their subpar corporate focused policy, designed by people that wouldn't understand a customers needs outside of what a customer needs to be encouraged to spend money (and certainly wouldn't ever be one of them). I fully understand it is a policy that is designed to get you to purchase an item that you have committed to but not in stock via click and collect, but as a customer that just experienced this self-congratulatory policy, I'm not sitting here planning to collect an item tomorrow that I wanted to purchase today, I'm sitting here annoyed that my time doesn't matter to officeworks and every attempt to confirm the items stock availability ends in "go to the website", so I am instead dedicating my time to reviewing this experience.

The only reason I am giving more than one star is that the staff member gave me alternatives that she is allowed to give, however I am kind of offended that I was essentially hoodwinked. Ultimately OfficeWorks policy and procedures are hostile to the customer experience and give the impression that someone in an office far from frontline staff has made a messy one dimensional decision and expects staff that have no power and no mobility to keep people happy.

Sometimes you feel you are being ripped off - that Officeworks seems delighted to confirm it is a little surprising. Bought a Lamy Biro refill for $15 and it did look a little expensive, but bought it nevertheless. The fact they sloppily left the EURO price tag of EU 3.90 on the item equating to around $6.30 AUD suggests a monster margin of almost $10 above the retail in Europe. Show details

Dishonest Manager – I bought a faulty Mac from them and took it back immediately. They looked like they would initiate a procedure to provide me with a new replacement. It turned out that they would only repair it or replace it with refurbished ones. I only found it out from the paperwork they wanted me to sign and when I asked them directly. Then they claimed the… Read more

refurbished ones were the same, still maintained by Apple, and had a warranty. But the price I paid wasn't for a refurbished Mac.

It also takes 2-3 weeks for them to repair. Their manager, [Name Removed] lied that purchasing from other merchants would result in the same process. However, this is not the case. I have talked with Apple. Apple offers new replacements for faulty items purchased from them within three weeks. Additionally, Apple matches prices if they are higher than those of Officework.

I guess all the Officework has the same procedure. But I would appreciate it if I was treated with honesty and respect.

Why not clear the generic "Toner(K) is low. Replace when indicated" message to make it more meaningful? The abovementioned message appears at Bundoora store, so does at Chadstone store, it's even more confusing when the printing job is indefinitely hanging there. When the problem solved, it's nothing to do with the message. Can someone of customer… Read more

My wife purchased a Cannon Selphy CP1500 Printerfor a Christmas gift. There was no indication on the packaging that ink cartridges were suppied or not, no mention at all. She asked the sales rep and he didnt know either, and he made no attempt to find out about ithe ink. Christmas Day we find out no ink supplied so I called back to OW once they… Read more

re-opened. It turns out they do not even supply the ink cartridges and you have to order the ink "Online" as this is clearly printed on the OW website which the sales rep saw when he was checking for me. Cost $50.00 The sales rep actually refered me to JB Hi Fi and they were also a better price than OW, $44.00 and in stock.

After attempting to return in store, unopened envelope package of Norton Extra Security I was simply told No. Policy no returns on 'software' due to 'cannot tell if unopened'. the past three Samsung's. All purchased from Office Works, same Dee Why store! So obviously point of sale reps are encouraged to sell extras with phones. Covers, extra security all brought forward during my purchase. Always I believed I could returned if UNOPENED! I'm not a fool. So I was given case number after emailing yesterday afternoon. I received email on waking. 'no returns on software'. No review. No customer service. No Justice. Simply ai careless throwing customers away. As a 79 year old retired person, someone who has purchased technology over many years from this store, I find it appalling. I've also spent hundreds $ on granddaughter's specific art pens, pencils etc. Not good enough Office Works. I'll spread the word. Sincerely Robyn Puffett

I don’t recommend getting Product Care from this store. I’ve had Product Care at other places like Harvey Norman, and the process was always simple and straightforward. But here, it’s unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. When I went to the store for help after my computer broke down, they just told me to call a number instead of assisting… Read more

me directly. On the call, the lady was quite rude — kept questioning why my email name wasn’t exactly the same as my legal name, and asking if I was really the purchaser. It made no sense since you can’t show ID over the phone. Even though she said she had the invoice in front of her, she still made me read out every single detail — serial number, model number, item description, and price for each item — basically the entire invoice, which took about 15 minutes.

Then I was told I needed to pack the item myself and send it away by courier for “assessment.” The email they sent afterward included a long list of confusing packaging and shipping instructions — including measuring the box, providing weight and dimensions, waiting for a consignment note, and arranging collection times.

The whole process feels unnecessarily difficult, time-consuming, and stressful — as if they’re making it hard on purpose. Really disappointing experience compared to how easy and helpful Product Care has been with other retailers.

The product model number depicted on these sites is, SKU: AUL1073WHT, which is identical to that on the product box that I observed at my local Officeworks (Hoppers Crossing). Do I have to mention the photos matched too?!

Officeworks is on Redland Bay Road Capalaba. My first time in there was yesterday, what a large store with a huge variety of products. much needed office chair, sadly the old had seen better days and rather than risk it collapsing underneath me it was time to replace it. We bought the faux leather brown Lindenberg chair, and it is a beauty. Its annoying how one can no longer look at a chair..feel it..sit in it..then bring it home….NO,these days everything comes in a box making it very heavy and awkward..thankfully staff were quick to offer help to get it to the car. Two people with disabilities putting a chair together…comical… thankfully it only needed one(supplied)Allen Key…we got there in the end. It is super comfortable the padded arm rests give that extra bit of comfort. The chair is on rollers making it easy to move around. I paid $279.00 which is a lot for an office chair…but worth every cent,it is a quality build and quality finish. In my humble opinion the other chairs didnt come close to the Lindenberg.

I had a very frustrating experience at the Casula store’s printing section recently. I came in with my own A5 paper—slightly different from standard size but still perfectly usable—and simply needed to print a few pages. Unfortunately, the staff on duty refused to help, citing the small difference in size (less than 1 cm) as the reason. I even… Read more

offered to pay and suggested trying one sheet to see if it worked, but they refused outright.

What made it worse was the lack of willingness to assist or even try. The staff seemed disengaged and were not open to finding a solution. After turning me away, they just sat and did nothing. It was almost 7pm, and with limited places open at that time, I had no choice but to purchase a printer for a task that took me only one minute to complete at home. The printer handled my paper just fine.

This experience left me very disappointed—not just because they couldn’t help, but because of the lack of basic courtesy and problem-solving. A little effort and a helpful attitude would have made all the difference. It’s unfortunate when staff in a customer-facing role show little interest in assisting, especially when the solution is simple.

I hope the store can take this as constructive feedback and provide better training in both customer service and basic flexibility. No one should feel forced to buy a printer for something so simple.

Manager, to pass on my thanks for such excellent service, only to be greeted with a recorded message stating that there was no-one to answer my call. Simply not good enough Officeworks. The last 3 times I've gone to this place in Underwood, I feel the staff needs all-round training in the sections. They tend to walk away when you make eye contact and I know it's only due to their lack of knowledge of certain products but if you sneak up on one of them, then they'll do what is right by getting someone that knows. Most times though I know what I need but some times you need help.
