I’ve always been a loyal customer of Mongrel Boots. A while ago I rolled my ankle, and for the first time Mongrel Boots let me down. That pushed me to start looking for boots with better ankle support, and that’s when I came across Oliver Boots. I… Read more
decided to try their zip‑side boots. From day one they looked good, but they were completely useless. After only a few months of wearing them, I started getting pain in my knees because they’re so hard to walk on — and I don’t even walk much, considering I’m a long‑distance truck driver. Eventually I got sick of them and started searching for an alternative. That’s when I stumbled upon a brand I hadn’t seen before: Ergonx. The more I looked into them, the more interesting facts I found about their safety boots. So, $240 later, I parked my Oliver Boots and moved on to Ergonx — and I couldn’t be happier. As for Oliver Boots… thanks, but no thanks.
Follow-up · Zip was fine. Comfort was nil. Boots breathe? Yeah Na....
They are literally the opposite of everything they advertise. The women’s safety boot, is the most uncomfortable clunky bit of rubbish I’ve ever worn. They sole feels like standing on hard concrete all day, and the heel makes it so you constantly slide forward and put all your weight on the balls of your feet, which after 10+ hours becomes… Read more
incredibly painful. There’s also the matter of the steel toe placement, have to kneel down to do something? You can’t, because when you bend your foot, the steel toe part will cut into your skin no matter the socks you are wearing. I really tried everything to like these boots, but they are just awful.. ugly, clunky, stinky, concussive and painful to wear after the first 20 minutes. Wouldn’t recommend these to someone I didn’t like.
I always used this brand and they were good in the past when owned by Oliver or honeywell and still made in Australia. My last pair A55's they were comfortable (55320), but lasted less than 2 years with light use looking after them, the soles started to separate from the boot on both boots, just like others here, seems like a manufacturing fault,… Read more
I believe they are now made off shore in Asia some where, I contacted the owner PIP ANZ and they basically told be they would not accept any claim, as it's past the 6 month warranty, I replied and stated that it's a major failure and I have consumer rights beyond their warranty and they should review their decision, but they never replied back, that was from their sales rep [Name Removed],. I have lodged a complaint with the ACCC, for them mis-representing my consumer rights, if everyone else does it then maybe the ACCC action against them. I will never be buying Oliver boots again or any other product that PIP ANZ sells, Their ABN is 90 608 776 816 if anybody else needs it to lodge a complaint to the ACCC.

Poor quality materials, Barely 3 months of light use. Will be going back to Steel Blue Show details
Oliver AT's SKU#55345Z Zip sided work boots: I have worn a lot of different brands of boots. This is the first where the steel cap has cut through the fabric on the inside lining resulting a very sharp edge cutting into my big toe. Definitely puts me off buying another pair.

Very disappointed, boots barely used as can see, not even dirtied the soles and both have fallen off. Not fit for purpose! They say “ DO NOT HANDLE WITH CARE” Perhaps that’s where I went wrong!! Photos show the material securing soles has just disintegrated! And the website seems to make it impossible to contact them! Show details

Good boots – I found them to be a really good boot, comfy and lasted pretty well. The only bad thing about them is the smell… idk what it is but they bloody stink! I’ve tried everything to get the smell out and I’ve had no luck. Had mongrels for years and no issue but felt like a change would be good. Looks like I’m going back to the mongrels though. I went back and used an older set of boots for a while and let these just sit around for probably almost 2 months. In that time I did spray the insides with 10% vinegar water mix and a bit of baking soda and let them sit and they got rained on a few times too. I started wearing them again about 4 months ago and I’ve had no troubles at all. They did make my feet feel really hot when I was originally wearing them. I’m guessing because the leather wasn’t worn in a little and wasn’t allowing them to breathe? But yes they are fine now, they wear really well, really comfy and look good too. Changing my 3 star to a 4. Could never give a 5 because they are not Australian made.
Trusted rigger boots – I had been buying Mack, blundstone & steel blue work boots until roughly 2014 when I purchased my first pair of Oliver rigger pull on boots first pair after about 9 months stitching started to let go on one boot contacted the store I purchased them through after some back and forth between us they sent me a Brand New pair I've had the brand-new… Read more
pair since about 2015 they've finally let go now in 2021 I have to say that's a very long time for any work boot and although I had that issue with the first pair it was resolved quickly with great communication and replaced with brand new ones I have no reason to not recommended the Oliver rigger boots and their customer service I've since brought another pair I'm hoping that I can get such longevity out of these.
This is Perfect Safety Boots – I bought This Safety Boots from a work wear shop to replace my old oliver Safety Boots. This Safety Boots is an excellent boots and it protect me in slippery ground such as Oil and Water. This boots is not slippery at all. The Quality is excellent. The Look is very sporty. Owned a pair of Oliver boots ages ago and remembered how long they lasted and how comfortable they were. Just purchased the 55-332Z model, area around where the side zip is located constantly digs into my ankle. I suspect cost cutting by Honeywell who own the brand.
I purchased a pair of Oliver Safety Boots, style SUK# 34623, and unfortunately, they've been quite disappointing. My main issue is that these boots are leaving scuff marks on floors, something I've never experienced with any other brand of safety boots I've owned in the past, regardless of how old they were. This is a significant problem, as it… Read more
not only affects the appearance of surfaces but also raises concerns about the sole material and its suitability for various work environments. I'm hoping to get some assistance from Oliver regarding this, as I haven't had any luck getting help from their customer service thus far.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with Oliver safety boots, or specifically with the #34623 style? I'd appreciate any advice or if Oliver can reach out to help resolve. this.
Poorly made over priced – Do not buy the 100% waterproof Oliver boots,my pair lasted five wears and then fell apart ,Oliver would not replace or refund they only offered a discount if I bought the same style that fell apart after five wears. They are definitely not made for construction, Chinese knockoffs would last longer

Oliver riggers: Very poorly made – Oliver riggers: Internal lining wears very quickly. Boot can not be removed as it jams your foot inside. Absolutely disgusted in the quality.
Oliver Boots are Horrible!!! – ABSOLUTE garbage quality!!! I was given a NEW pair of Oliver boots. The first time I tried them on the rubber soles had dissolved. It literally just peeled off. A brand new pair of boots that are useless. The person who bought them didn't keep the receipt so over $150 down the drain. Stick with good brands like Blundstone. They won't let you down like this Oliver rubbish.
Appalling – Casing around steel capping cracked within a month ..my previous pair lasted almost 10 years . Seller not interested in replacing, and definitely no refunds. Appalling way to conduct business. By the way reviews left on google have far more impact NOT company website. Show details
Poor quality – My company purchased these boots for me. The first day I walked along a field with grass approximately 10cm long after rain and my feet got wet. I wore them for no more that 1 month before the sole had worn and I brought my own boots preferring comfort, stability and quality. The leather has also disappointed with large cracks appearing. I now… Read more
leave these boots in the shed only using them to mow the lawn.
Over 20 years requiring boots for my profession these have set the lowest score yet.
Poor quality, dishonest operators – Poorly made and uncomfortable work boots. The shovel resistant sole lasted 45 days, I rarely shovel. Sending a complaint to the ACCC as sales kept brushing me off and the area manager claimed it as wear and tear. Very dishonest operators! Show details
Comfortable bit of rubbish – Bought these zip up Oliver boots only to be let down within 2 months. Work in a lot of wet conditions but have never seen boots fall apart so easily, cheap boots from Big W outlasted these with ease. Worst $240 odd bucks I've ever spent Show details
buy Mack boots – I give zero ⭐ the worst boots I ever had I work in water everyday I had wet feet the first day when I was on my first break bought a new pair of Mack boots been 6 weeks and no wet feet
Oliver All Terrain ,Looks No Substance – Bought these boots to replace ten year old Red Back slip ons that got water damaged . Fit and comfort was good . Zipperss stick but can be sprayed with WD40. Unfortunately sole is 2.5mm thick and offers zero protection against shovels and ingress from sharp objects . The first day I wore them i thought I could feel crushed rock through the soles .… Read more

Not the Same Oliver's they used to be – I have been wearing the oliver at workboots for years, I got my first pair in around 2010. I went into the store to buy a new pair of Bludstone boots to replace a pair that i lost in a river (long story), the storeperson warned me that Bludstone had recently moved manufacturing over to china and the new boots were nothing like the quality of the… Read more
old ones, so i decided to switch it up to the Oliver AT-50's. they were so comfortable it was ridiculous! The build quality was fantastic as well. I liked them so much I ordered a second pair a few years later of the black leather to wear them at my office job. I bought a third pair of elastic sided boots to wear around the farm house as well. All three were comfortable, durable and high quality, I have been wearing them for years and they still hold up. Fast forward to today 2023, I lost my AT-50's in a move and went to buy another pair, I was shocked to see the decline in quality of the new Oliver's. The materials were flimsy, the stitching garbage and the fit and feel was no where near what I remembered from the old ones. I asked the store person what happened to my beloved Oliver's and he said that they had moved manufacturing overseas to China a few years ago and the quality had dropped off steeply since then. What a shame! These boots which were once synonymous with quality and comfort are now just cheap garbage. These companies need to learn that you might save manufacturing costs by outsourcing to China, but what ever money you save that way, you lose double as customers abandon your cheap garbage products. Sadly I'll bever buy another pair of Oliver's again.
Can’t believe such a trusted brand has been ruined – Boilermaker by trade and have worn exclusively Oliver AT’s, come to get a new pair and have noticed they have redesigned their boots and now they’re as uncomfortable and unreliable as ever, what a shame I wonder if they ever heard of the quote “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” Looks like I’m not the only reviewer here disappointed in the quality. Used to love but something changed – I was told years ago the most comfortable work boot is Oliver's, so when my boots died 4 years ago I bought a pair of Oliver's the tall wheat boots with a zip and it was the best boot Ive ever worn that I wore them 4 years. But as with anything due to age they deteriorated and I needed a new pair 2 years ago and kept wearing them. So I buy… Read more
Oliver's ankle high zip wheat boots and I am disappointed, the old worn out 4 year old boots are still more comfortable then the brand new boots. If feels like there's no cushioning on these just hard plastic.
I unfortunately when these wear out need to seek out a new boot which will be as comfortable as what I found many years ago.
Lived in oliver work boots – Been wearing Oliver work boots for around 16 years now and have absolutely loved them. They wear $120 a Pair when i started wearing them now nearly double that. Mongrel boots well done Australian made only one of two company's left making them hear in Australia. Oliver you owe me Four weeks wages.

Oliver boots falling apart – I purchased a pair of Oliver boots several years ago but only started wearing them a few months ago. After about the fourth or fifth wear I noticed one boot felt like it was lower than the other. On closer inspection the heal of one boot had a large split and the inner heal had collapsed. The uppers are still quite good being leather would… Read more
possibly last a number of years. Contacted the company and was advised that they could not provide any assistance. The soles of these boots are synthetic and obviously made to only last a few years. Very disappointed in the quality of these boots and will not purchase any in the future.
Oliver boots headed down hill – Got some 65 490z boots, and am disappointed compared to other styles by them, the inserts are terrible and the steel cap pushes into the side of your big toe, thought it might just be that pair, work got me a second pair of them and they are the same. Now I have two pairs of Olivers I dont want to wear and will have to go buy my own as work wont supply any more Show details
Just so mediocre – Have had 3 pairs and they always stretch way to far too tighten them anymore. So your foot is flopping around in space. Those few pairs did last a little while but are very uncomfortable. Even with custom made orthotics my feet still hurt, then knees and hips start to hurt. Show details
Update on Oliver boots 15-480 - 15-580 – I ordered a new pair of 15-480s but opened the box today to find 15-580's instead. I don't know if they are the new model or if my local workwear place ordered the wrong ones but the new ones are much looser than my 15yo pair of 15-480s and offer much less support in the ankle area etc and will be taking them back on wednesday for a refund as I'm not at all happy with them Show details
Don't expect Oliver boots to stay together – Boots (ATS, steel toe, zipper) have only been used in a retail environment for almost 2 years. The entire sole and steel cap has come away from the upper. Terrible rubbish. I bought other brands at the same time, they're doing fine. Steer clear of Oliver boots, they are NOT good quality. Show details
