content, lots of links to random webpages that are out of date. Appears like AI wrote the course years ago. Many requests to have this rectified went nowhere - Great course if you are wanting to get the piece of paper with a smaller price tag, work at your own pace, it is accredited so the crux of what you need to qualify is part of the work - Lacks technical resourcing support for drawings and software - No interaction with other students, no real attempt to make a community - The online interface is a bit clunky ie you have to scroll in order of pages rather than jump between but could be worse

Disgusting college – This college will be investigated for how they take money off individuals over 10 grand off myself. Didn't even start the course disgusting..if anyone thinking of going through a college go through open

Absolutely awful experience. If I had checked the online reviews before signing up I would have saved myself a lot of stress, heartache and money. The course content is terrible, full of errors, incorrect content, old links that don't work, outdated information. your assignments (I waited 3 weeks for my final module to be marked which meant I had to sit around and wait before I could start applying for workplacements, costing me time and money). Then, workplacement. I'm yet to complete it and probably never will. I asked them to arrange it even though they push you to do it yourself. Spent months going back and forward and wasted loads of time on something that never got confirmed. Ended up sourcing my own placement but the assessor wouldn't confirm it for me because it didn't meet their criteria even though the organisation does workplacements for Tafe SA on the regular. All the large companies don't deal with colleges that don't have agreements with them, and open colleges has NO AGREEMENTS in place so basically your screwed. What a waste of 4 months and a whole load of money. Do not do it.

My experience with open colleges has been disappointing. If you have learning disability or genuine support, this is not the place for you. Colleges (OC) have provided me with no assistance throughout my certificate, and after finishing the 18 month theoretical component of the course, Open Colleges arranged for SkilTrak (who I had to pay for, too, and who I also rate 0 stars) to find me a placement. Over the past 8 months they have failed to find me a placement - they have sent me to two facilities who turned me away as they don't see OC as a registered RTO and another that had a year long waiting list. I have also called 30 facilities within 20km of my house, none of whom see Open Colleges as an RTO. I was not made aware of any of this when I started the course - I wanted to let everyone know who wants to do this course, you likely won't be able to complete the work placement. The content is relevant, interesting, and easily applicable to real life. The only issue I had was with Open Colleges outsourcing their placement help to a company; the company were entirely unhelpful and lacked communication and understanding. Highly recommend going out and finding placement for yourself, and Sharon is your biggest supporter in that endeavour so you'll have no trouble.
