It comes in a range of colours, ours is rose gold, and it has adjustable speeds. It is far more powerful than our old one but I don't like the stand which only has places for 2 brush heads. I much preferred the older type where the brushes were inside. I suppose it's just another case of save plastic for the sustainable rubbish.
I thought with all the care I gave it, this product would last a long time. Nope – Although I first wrote this review just two weeks ago, I find that I need to do a major update due to battery failure! I've changed 5 stars back to 3 due to this. that I'll have to replace very soon. Please understand that I've left the original review as is below, and so remember that it was written at a time just days before battery failure. In spite of the fact that I have been very careful in regard to avoiding battery degradation, it still failed in less than three years. Sigh!
Just before purchasing this product July 20021 (2.7 years ago), I looked here and got the impression that this was a good product, but that the battery died around 2 years. For me, it's turned out to be a good purchase decision. This is my first electric toothbrush, and I can't see me ever going back to a normal toothbrush. The biggest reason is that I love black pepper, and I typically get lots of it stuck in my teeth and normal toothbrush doesn't move it but this electric toothbrush does.
Next let's talk about batteries! I've learned a lot about Lithium Ion batteries and how they like to be treated. And how to make them die in less than two years. When it comes to this product, I have no doubt that those that experience battery failure are probably the same people that leave the toothbrush on the charger, plugged in and switched on 24/7/365. The problem is that there is a type of battery degradation that happens most when the battery is fully charged. It happens over time not instantly, so leaving this type of battery fully charged at all times is a perfect recipe for making the battery die early. Because the battery can't be easily changed in this toothbrush, it's important to look after it. Since first use, I've kept the toothbrush on the charger and plugged in, but switched off at the wall except overnight immediately following noticing that operation is slowing down. Don't wait for the toothbrush to stop or go full red. As soon as you know it's slowing down, charge and then switch charger off at the wall. Mine typically still runs for around 3 to 4 weeks between charges, I haven't noticed any degradation whatsoever.
If I was to suggest an improvement to Oral-B, it would be to add an indicator so that we know the state of charge. With devices that don't need charging daily, it's possible to make them last >10 years by discharging to around 60% and then charging to around 75%. I do this with my fitness watch and my ebike. With devices like electric mowers where you typically can use all the charge in the battery in one session, go for something like charging to 90% and discharge to 20%. You can of course use 100% to 5% regularly, but expect to need new batteries within a year or so. One day, LI batteries will be replaced with something that is a bit less fussy.
Oral-B Genius 9000 GOLD - Waste of money – I bought the Oral-B Genius 9000 GOLD at Chemist Warehouse for $139.99 on the 24 Dec (2023). It was a Xmas present to myself. I used it 25th night, 26th morning and night and it was broken on the 27th. It is very light and flimsy. I returned to Chemist Warehouse and they said you need to follow it up with the manufacturer yourself. You need to post at your own cost - so lost $15. Do not waste your time or money. Show details

brush. It comes with a travel case and charger and while I haven't had cause to use that yet, it seems well designed and made. The one thing I found useless was the Bluetooth connectivity. There is a phone holder which suction cups to the mirror which must be head height. Downloaded the app and after a while it paired with the brush. However it didn't always follow where I was brushing. The whole Bluetooth thing seems unnecessary and gimmicky. I deleted the app and the phone holder is now in the bottom drawer. I can use the brush just as well without it. I'd recommend not paying the extra for something you might only use once or twice then give up. The brush and charging dock are great though. Overall it's a quality item that works great.

issues with tartar that caused one of my bottom teeth to have to be removed and replaced with a ceramic tooth in the future. So I decided to get serious about tooth cleaning, as you have no idea how bad that tartar can affect your teeth, especially the way it can build up behind your front teeth without you even noticing.
So for me this was of utmost importance to keep clean, and so far the Genius 9000 has been doing an excellent job, I've gone so far as to brush my teeth 3 times a day but this may be a little overkill :)
The tooth brush seems better quality that the cheaper $20 Oral B electrics and it has more features, the battery life is solid and it's easy to charge. I will be updating this review in 6 months time right after my next dentist visit.

brush it has various settings so you can adjust it easily if you have sensitive teeth. It also came with three different types of brush heads to try. One being a whitening brush.
Now, the app and smartphone holder. Used it twice and gave up. The holder is big and bulky, and to be honest three brushes in I gave up on the app. I certainly didn’t like the idea of using the phone holder with a suction cap on the mirror either. I also found you had to keep looking directly at the phone. If you moved your head away or out of line it couldn’t detect you. My opinion is it was a lot of fuss for no real reason.
Thankfully, you don’t need to use the app. The brush vibrates every 30 seconds so you can easily judge your brushing area and total brushing time using the brush without the app.
I paid $179 at the Shaver Shop and I think it’s been $179 well spent. As I said initially I’ve noticed a vast improvement in my teeth in a very short time.

The charge lasts a minimum 6 days with two of us using it twice a day. The travel case doesn't take up much room and there is an inbuilt USB port for easy charging.
After 2 years and 2 mths my hand set failed. 2 mth out of warranty. I sent it to Braun and they replaced it. Thank you!! – Just Out of warranty but replaced regardless for free, thank you Braun. Like a tractor in my mouth – The vibration and noise of this brush is so loud and harsh it feels and sounds like a tractor! I was using the Phillips Sonicare and if I had the option I would change back to that. It was much gentler and quieter. I feel I can't brush my teeth at night because it will wake up the whole house! Brokedown after just 1 year – Bought the Toothbrush from Chemist Warehouse and it stop working after just 1 year. Unfortunately, we have lost the receipt and were unable to claim a warranty. Oral-B guiding app sucks ver 8.0.5 (2113) updated in 2020 – I’m using this product and updated the guiding app on iphone to latest version 8.0.5 (2113) and it failed to detect where I’m brushing. Brushing in the left corner and it detects I’m brushing on the right, waste my time, especially annoying in the morning rush.

teeth brushing process VERY messy. As the toothbrush head is very wide, you have to brush with your mouth wide open, often making a mess and trailing toothpaste all over my chin and mouth. It’s very frustrating and there is some cleanup of the toothbrush required afterwards e.g washing and drying. This product was a gift so I can’t comment on the value for money however I personally wouldn’t pay $300+ for this product.

the 2-minute timer is divided into four quadrants that align with L-R upper and L-R lower; and it connects to my iPhone. I am not interested in the iPhone connection but it is there if ever I am so bored I want to review my oral hygiene performance. I like it so much I bought one for each of my grand kids.
Died after 2 years. Cheaper toothbrushes have lasted much longer. Waste of money – This toothbrush stopped working after just over 2 years. I've had cheaper brushes last more than twice that long. Button locations are a pain as they mode button was positioned where the power button should be and power button was too high therefore kept pressing the wrong button. Did have a convenient travel case but it was hard to wash. Charge lasted about the same as any of oral b toothbrushes. Won't ever buy again. Waste of money. Show details

with a sensitive head, and sometimes I also use another sensitive head to clean my tongue. Both brush heads can be easily stored in the four-tray compartment without cross-contamination. I have used this toothbrush for more than one months, currently, I am on my way to explore more functions. For the function of connecting my toothbrush to the mobile phone to record my brush habit, I am still getting used to it, sometimes I may forget to turn on the Bluetooth in the phone before going into the bathroom, and then I have to use the wet fingers to touch the phone screen. But anyway, this toothbrush has done a good job so far for cleaning my teeth thoroughly and gently without much gum bleeding.
