out of the plastic, however strong chemical odour for several hours. the mattress was much softer than expected, was given a medium firm rating i believe. I prefer a firmer mattress, but otherwise still supportive enough. the edges do not offer much support and will sink in if sitting on the edge. having slept on it for a few weeks now, it is quite comfortable, but wish there was option for firmness.

Hybrid was mentioned by several physios and chiropractors as being a good option for back support. The ordering process was simple and delivery was really fast and on my preferred day. The mattress was easy to unpack and was pretty much ready to use straight away, although I let mine settle in the frame for a number of hours before I popped the sheets on. I have been using this mattress for nearly three months now and I do not regret spending that bit more money for a mattress which is good quality and really comfortable. No matter which way I turn at night (and I wriggle constantly!) I feel incredibly supported and my sleep has definitely improved. Although the mattress is medium to firm to provide back benefits, the foam layering makes it super comfortable to sleep on. The details I purchased the hybrid pro mattress and I’m very happy with it, although it hasn’t been as life changing as some other reviews suggest. It hasn’t fixed my sleep problems or eliminated my aches and pains. I’m a side sleeper and I’ve found that with other firm mattresses I always feel some pressure on my hips but have not experienced the same with my Origin mattress. I’d say that’s a win.

On the down side, the mattress is extremely heavy, weighing in at 38kg. I purchased a double bed mattress and will all my previous mattresses (all reputable brands), I’ve been easily able to flip them or remove the mattress from the bed to change the valance. I can barely lift my Origin mattress to tuck in the sheets. Buyer beware.

Dealing with the company had its challenges because they are only contactable via a chatbot or email, which is very frustrating. I found their return policy to be very inflexible. I actually read the fine print and saw they would not accept a return if the pickup address for the return was not the same as the address they delivered to. So, if you purchase a mattress from them and move house within the 3-month trial period, you cannot return it. I queried this because I was planning a move and needed to know whether there was any way to accommodate my needs. I emailed them and received the following response: “While our policy states that the pickup address must match the delivery address, we strive to accommodate our customers' needs as best as possible. In situations like yours, we recommend reaching out to us to discuss your specific circumstances. We may be able to offer alternative solutions or make accommodations to ensure a smooth return process if needed at the time.” Even when I explained my “specific circumstances”, they did not commit to making any actual “accommodations”. Because I didn’t feel that I could trust them I purchased the mattress but only provided a delivery date once I had a new address.

I was eager to make the purchase because they had a 40 or 45% off sale. I’ve since discovered that that’s simply a marketing ploy. The prices have been the same since I first started looking at mattress in late April even though that sale that was meant to finish at the end of April.

The delivery was a nightmare. Origin outsources its deliveries, with less than ideal results for the customer. I requested that my mattress be delivered to my new home on 30 May. On 24 May I received an email from Origin indicating that my mattress would be delivered on 4 Jun but that “customers often receive their deliveries earlier than the stated ETA date”. I indicated that I needed my delivery on 30 May, otherwise I would find myself without a mattress to sleep on. On 27 May at 6.55 am I received an email from a company called Hunter Express indicating that my mattress was being delivered that day and a few hours later that it had been delivered. It was a no reply email address and there were no contact details available in the email or on the company website. I was 400km away and had no idea what happened to my mattress. I had not provided an authorisation to leave the mattress, yet that’s exactly what the delivery company did. They left the mattress at the bottom of the stairs, not even at my front door. When you purchase a mattress from most companies, they deliver it into your home and take away your old mattress as well. Also, in my experience with other deliveries, one is usually informed at every step of the way, from despatch to transit to delivery date.

I emailed Origin several times regarding this and received messages apologising for the distress caused and promising to get to the bottom of things but not actually indicating any specific action they would take or providing any information about the mattress delivery. By 3 Jun Origin had still not come back with any information. By this time I had moved and had to make my own arrangements to get the mattress into my unit. The delivery company had contacted me to say that their arrangement with Origin was that they did not require authorisation and they did not cart mattresses up any stairs. Surely that’s something that should be disclosed to customers prior to purchase.

When I called them out for sending me AI generated emails and not dealing with the issue, someone eventually contacted me with a sincere apology and acknowledgement that their customer service had been poor. They then offered me a 10% refund. So yes, it took persistent complaining on my part to get an appropriate response but I have to acknowledge their show of good faith.

Bought the double Origin Hybrid and it has been a comfortable and firm mattress that is great for getting restful quality sleep. Delivery was quick and unpacking the mattress was quite easy and straight forward. Very happy with the purchase and highly recommended Show details

to their “support team” which of course I only get a response every 3 days. Here we are emailing back and fourth because they cannot get their ducks in a row. Bed frames are out of stock so of course they just take my money and then what… I’m genuinely concerned I might not receive my order or it’s going to take months to receive it. I’m so disappointed by this company and cannot express my sincere frustration through words.
