I was looking at refinancing my home loan arrangements, I found the process with this company very easy to use and understand, It also represented best value conditions and rate of all the other compies I checked.

We used Homestar for our first home. Interest rates were great & process fairly quick. Settlement delayed slightly as their solicitors didn’t check the adequacy of our submission of finalised documents.

I went through Homestar for the purchase of my first home. The process was generally straight forward and settlement occurred on time so overall I am quite happy. My only complaint would be it can be difficult to get in contact with them which did cause some stress particularly right before settlement however I was somewhat expecting this based on other reviews. Otherwise, I can definitely recommend them if you're after a great interest rate.

Better Rate

Mortgage Refinanced.
Time it took 3 months process for the loan to come across but overall happy with rates but NOT happy with the service during this process.
I have to follow it up all the time via email and even when RBA released new rate cuts during this process HOME STAR does not want to give the new rate and I have to follow it up with them for new rates.
I might see some saving after 2 years I guess, there is discharge fees and home star fee all up $2,000.
Glad its all over

Rates are much better than the major banks.
They are passing on one hundred percent of the rate cuts instead of increasing their profits at any given opportunity. Reccomend highly.

Happy with experience so far

I applied and was approved for my home loan with Homestar a few months ago.
I found that the variable rate offered was very competitive based on comparison with other lenders at the time and the inclusion of a linked offset account with the loan account was also a bonus.
The overall loan approval process was fairly quick and straightforward and the staff were easy to deal with and efficient in processing the application.
Would recommend based on experience so far.

Great experience with a non bank lender

I refinanced with Origin MMS and topped up my loan and have been very happy with the change and the service so far! The process through my broker was smooth, easy and fast! The competitive rate with the offset account facility was attractive for my lend! I would highly recommend Origin MMS over the big banks! Now just hoping to see the RBA cut to be passed on. Jemma

Homestar were extremely thorough in their assessment of my re-financing. That meant the process took longer than I expected, but probably not much longer than others given the influence of the Royal Commission. Loan settled last week and now have much better loan structure in place with simpler security arrangements. Interest rate is extremely competitive, but cost of refinancing was not ridiculous. I will recover those costs in around two months. Internet banking looks clean and simple - nothing wrong with that. Call centre staff (one call only to activate internet banking) were courteous and knowledgeable. Looking forward to a good ongoing experience.

My Loan Specialist at Homestar was outstanding and very easy to work with. I was disappointed with the staff that were verifying my employment as they thought it appropriate to disclose to junior staff and send a blanket emails to my work info@... email. Wasn't happy about that. But Stefan - Loan Specialist was very apologetic and provided great service.
Everything else about the loan is as described so far and rate is excellent.

The startup process was a little lengthy , but I believe this is the best decision I have mode with my home loan. Rate cuts have been applied quickly , 3-4 times in my 4 years with Origin. Phone calls are answered efficiently and changes are implemented as soon as they are requested. Simple and honest service. Highly recommended.

Yes I too would like to know why it has taken the time to get the rate reduction for October which Has Not happened at all and No communication via any form. Was told the rate reduction is the same as HOMESTAR WEBSITE but get informed today that you are only passing on .18 when the rba reduced it by .25 and it was published on Homestar website the full RBA reduction will happen well when would be really nice. I have to meet your terms and conditions but it appears that you don't had to meet any agreement with your contracts with clients at all. Also information that is given out is very often incorrect so the right hand doesn't know what the left Hand is saying or doing. Really very disappointed with us company in handling RBA rate reductions to clients morgages.
