I bought a Melanie style handbag . Admittedly it is about 4 years old , but very lightly used and the stitching has come away, near the base of the bag I went back to the store and was virtually told " bad luck " . This is not good enough . The bag cost Aus $495 .
Poor quality Oroton , a brand that has been held in the highest esteem in Australia --what has happened ?
Back from the Dead like a Phoenix
Used to shop Oroton with my wife in the 90's and early 2000's and then they went....away...and really became irrelevant. Not posh enough to compete with top Luxe brands and not inexpensive enough to be lumped in with other Aussie brands. Then BOOM they have rebranded, fitted out some STUNNING new stores and their merch is once again EPIC and better than ever. My wife bought two dresses on Church St Brighton(VIC) new store and besides being dresses that you'd compare to Prada, Max Mara etc for looks and great fit/fabric, they are competitivel...y priced and the SERVICE from Amanda and Mia was fantastic. They know fashion and know their stuff and this sounds like an ad but it's not---we just love fashion and design and my wife (and I) know our stuff. Well done Oroton on all levels.
Wear and tear....really?
I purchased a medium sized handbag. There were three sizes available in the style I liked, however they all had the same sized shoulder strap and same sized hardware attached to the bag to hook the strap to. Obviously, the medium and large were greater in capacity so required different, larger hardware and larger straps and I did notice the anomaly at the time of purchase but because I liked the style, I bought it anyway. I had the bag for 3 years and only used it, at most, a dozen times because fortunately I have other bags to use. In any eve...nt, I never overloaded the bag, but the hardware pulled out of the bag's sides. On referring the matter to Customer Service, I was told "wear and tear" because I had bought it 3 years before. In fact, it had received very little "wear and tear". Such a poor response to a genuine fault issue with the manufacture. I was not requested to bring the bag into a store for assessment. Nevermind, I got the hardware replaced and a new strap at my own cost. Strap looks so much better than the original one. Incidentally, the bag repairer I used, confirmed the issue to be a manufacturer fault. Disappointed with Oroton's "brush-off". No longer support Oroton.
Have purchased Oroton bags, jewelry and wallets many times, in store and online. I've had a couple incidents where I was given the wrong product or it was left out in an online order, however both times the problem was resolved very easily and with great customer service. Contacting them is easy and their quality is outstanding. I will continue to support Oroton and their amazing products!
Beautiful handbag, elegant, unique design, high-quality product....highly recommend. However,
the reason I returned this handbag was that was hard to comprehend the actual size of it with the information given.

I had an issue with the hardware on a bag that I had purchased. Customer care team were excellent and offered a full refund or exchange. Oroton bags are such a high quality product and so classic . Staff in store very helpful as well.

I have been buying Orton for almost 10 years now.
The first Oroton bag I purchased is still in great condition, not one stich out of place, it has been around the world, used as an everyday work bag and been through the washing machine a few times.
Since that first bag, I have purchased many others as well as umbrellas and wallets. Quality is always fantastic and I am happy with service I have received both instore and and online.

I have received the bag however I’m not happy with the Gold, it’s tarnished. And bent.
the bag isn’t worth the money. The hard ware looks terrible, very disappointed.

wife and i visited burwood store and was welcomed with a lovely smile, we were getting ideas at this time for our staff for christmas gifts....so our intention was just to browse... we were super impressed with the lady who served us (dora)..as she knew her product range well and worked within our budget ..what was so inspiring was the fact she did give her quality time and expert advice on the products which fell within our budget.....and realizing we were not going to buy she gave the most outstanding service...dont come across this service a...nymore ..as most people would say our intent wasnt to buy so why bother ...but it was a complete satisfying experience ...no pushy sales and completely attentive to us and orotons stock range... i commend dora who served us and oroton for employing such experienced and welcoming staff.. will be back for sure thanks dora ray
Best Customer Service Ever
I LOVE Oroton, they are my Go - To for handbags and I was so sad when my 30th Birthday present, a rust Atlas Day bag broke while I was at the airport. I emailed Oroton straight away and even though it was 5pm on a Friday, Jessica got straight back to me and was apologetic and understanding. She helped me to see if there were any of the same bag in stock and offered a refund or a store credit. As there were no stock available I looked into getting the bag fixed myself, with no luck. So about a week or two later, I emailed Oroton again and Angela...said, of course, I could still send my bag back for a refund or credit. In the meantime I had spoken to Sally from the Harbour Town store and she went out of her way to track down the same style of bag for me, even though it wasn't at her store, we are currently looking into getting one sent from a Melbourne store. I am just blown away with the customer service I have received. The Oroton team have been kind, helpful and have gone above and beyond their job to help me. They really are a credit and asset to the brand and I wouldn't think about purchasing another brand after the customer service I have received.

I have been buying ( sporadically) OROTON, for over 40 years. I have the first purchase along with all the others.
I purchased a bag online ( that’s a first) and it arrived less than a week after I ordered it.
It was in a huge box and so beautifully wrapped and presented. Even though it was a sale item, there was no scrimping on guarantees and care ... And the bag! , I was over the moon. It’s perfect , in colour, style and quality ...

We purchased a number of Oroton bags on line. One arrived with faulty straps. We spoke to Kate and within a few days we received a replacement bag. The customer service was excellent and made very easy with no fuss. We are happy with our purchase and the customer service we received from Oroton.

Fantastic experience at Oroton Liverpool this week . The staff went out of there way to ask me what it was I was looking for then helped me decide what worked best . I choose a crossbody bag and couldn’t be happier ! It fits everything I need in in , looks great and is great quality and a fabulous price . I only ever buy Oroton bags so I will continue to do so .
Poor quality and terrible customer service
A few years ago I bought a bag at Oroton, I just graduated uni and wanted to celebrate. I walked in very excited and went straight to the discounted section (as I did just start my new job, so wasn’t loaded). I liked one that was out of my reach and went up to the counter to ask for help. The retail assistant walked straight past me and asked this old guy (who clearly had money) if he needed help. He pointed to me and said ‘she was before me’, with no apology she asked me what she could do for me. I said I would like the one on the top shelf an...d she got it down and I bought and paid for it (even on discount it was still $550). When the retail assistant asked for my name, she laughed at my last name saying ‘that’s funny’. I have never encountered such a rude person before in my life, which resulted in me never buying anything from Oroton ever again. I am so glad I didn’t because today my bag just broke out of nowhere. I have bought two bags from Micheal Kors, one was 7 years ago, and they still look brand new. Would never recommend this brand.
Questions & Answers
Hi I’ve stored my bag in the Oroton dust bag. I went to use it and found that the bag is stuck to the dust bag I tried to get it out but my bag is all damaged. I had to peel the dust bag off it and it tore to shreds. What should I do? Can this be fixed?
I was given a beautiful Oroton umbrella for a gift and therefore no receipt
