Awful customer service. They sold us 2-hour lessons as part of the package, which I paid for but couldn’t take. Their bus arrived almost 2 hours late to Perisher, so we missed the lessons, and they refused to reschedule or refund. It completely ruined our weekend — we didn’t get the basic ski/snowboard training needed to enjoy what we paid for. Accommodation and bus were horrible too! Never again! Show details
The worst experience – DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH OZ SNOW. They will take your money and will not reimburse you when your accomodation and ski equipment is not up to living or wearable standards. See below the finer details. Beware the company has arrogant workers who don’t care. An absolute shocking lodge. I cannot believe Flight Centre booked this accommodation… Read more
for a family of five. I WILL be demanding a full refund from Flight Centre. Do your homework prior to booking this place. It’s an absolute trash hole and our holiday is ruined. This was our last part of our Japan holiday and I am furious that Flight Centre booked this place for us. The rooms are cold and the heating is either too hot or too cold, reception have to reset the heater in your room due to electrical faults, it’s old, run down, the hallways are freezing, carpet is ripped and torn and a trip hazard, the lift door closes within 2 seconds of it opening and has caught people’s limbs in the door, a massive safety issue, no English is written on the inside of the lift door to state which is the ‘open’ and ‘close’ door to the lift, the ski hire equipment is old and has bruised all of our shin and ankle bones due to them no longer having padding, the bindings are not set correctly on your skis, your skis are not waxed, so you have to push yourself down the slope as you won’t move, the ski clothes are never laundered and are given to you smelling of filthy, smelly body odour, our toilet constantly runs and won’t stop and stuff is coming out of the pipe connected to the toilet, we think it is faeces, bugs are dead in your room, no linen service, no coffee or tea facilities, no wifi although they advertise that it has wifi, blasting music from the bar till 1am in the morning that you can still hear with ear plugs in. The list goes on and on. It’s expensive and was an absolute waste of our money. It is not a 3.8 star hotel. It is a 1 star hotel that is neglected by OzSnow in Australia. Management need to fix this old hotel, make it cheaper and stop the fake advertising. It was absolutely horrendous. It is only good for 20 year old backpackers who want to get laid and intoxicated.
Rooms The room is old with 80s style decor and furniture. The toilet constantly runs and faeces is coming out of a drain connected to the toilet. There is only one tap that is shared for the shower and basin, the mattresses are roughly 3cm high, super thin and uncomfortable. The doona was the thickness of 2 pieces of paper, the bunk beds squeaked all night and you could hear when someone moved slightly, wire is sticking out of the mattress through the sheet and pierces your body, lighting is dull with only two small lights for a family room. We had to use our mobile phone torches to read any documentation or paper work.
Safety Snow piles up outside reception and the ski hire room and it is never removed and builds up. A massive safety issue if someone falls and breaks their leg. The staff do not care as 20 year olds run it. You have to literally climb over snow to get in and out of the building. Wire is sticking up out of the mattress and pokes you during your sleep. The heater does not heat evenly across the building and therefore either your room is too hot or too cold. If it’s cold, reception have to reset it as the electrical wiring, according to reception, is faulty.
Food and Drinks Breakfast is plain and ordinary. It consists of cereal, boiled eggs, toast, spreads, tea and coffee. Within 45 minutes of breakfast starting they had no more boiled eggs and when asked they didn’t know if they would cook more. I requested they do. One of the toasters doesn’t work and I had to inform them that it was broken. No coffee and tea facilities in your room.
Simple clean accommodation but hosts are the bright stars – The younger workers, [Name Removed] and [Name Removed] on site are lovely, and accommodating. The Apartment Hakuba itself is sufficient as it’s clean and modern but small. Very isolated from the village unless you have a car and the cost of Ubers and taxis is exorbitant. If you are keen to try it, then hire a car. We could not ski in and out. The… Read more
sounds in the apartments can be heard so very thin walls sadly. If everyone has their heaters on you’ll boil (and that’s in the middle of winter). Other than that simple accommodation in a spectacular part of the world. The transport bus is rusty and over 500,000 clicks on it so maybe time for the Bondi owners to update the equipment. We were left stranded at one point and freezing and found it a little scary..

Hotel Madarao - The worst place I have ever stayed – The onsen has been closed for 5 years and is not outdoor. The rooms are tiny with little or no luggage space so you live out of your bag. The ensuite is smaller than tiny and tall or large set you wont fit. The lounge room is freezing, lounges are old and torn and accomodates 12 people. Heating is via Kerosine heaters and stink (this is common in… Read more
Madarao) The rental shop is rubbish. The breakfast buffet is powdered eggs and instant coffee or maybe boiled eggs with I think spag bol, toast, cheap tinned fruit and horrible cheap juice. There is no shuttle it is a bus that runs once or twice a day to other resorts or to the town of Iiyama - they are not 25/30 min away they are 1 hr so realistically you get 2 1/2 to 3hrs skiing at other resorts. Definately the worst hotel I have ever stayed. .....In saying that the staff are great, friendly and very helpfull.
AVOID THESE PEOPLE! – We booked Snowy Valley stay with them. Didn’t get the room we paid for. We paid extra to get a bigger room and they still put us in a room size of a cupboard. Dodgy sofa bed apparently being the third bed that we paid $300 extra for. Terrible food. 9 people for a shared bathroom. Had to go outside in the freezing morning to take a pee. [Name Removed] owns Oz Snow and is 50% shareholder in Snowy Valley Resort. Rip off. They should be ashamed.

So much fun!! – Such a good way to ski and meet people! Leila our tour guide was so friendly and accomodating. The whole tour was super organised and so much fun! Would definitely recommend. Show details
amazing experience – this trip has been the best of my whole life! big shoutout to beautiful ryan for making the trip 10x better and playing only bangers on the bus!!
Don't believe the other reviews, it was run perfectly! – I did the 10 day Powder belt pass in Japan (Hakuba/Madarao), and the ONLY hiccup we had was we had to wait an extra hour at the airport to be picked up because 3 guys had a later flight than normal. The hostel was surprisingly amazing, showers were clean, food was above average, and the mountain was plain beautiful. It wasn't loud, nor were many… Read more
people drinking in the hallways like a normal hostel. All in all, I believe people were there purely to ski/board.
I met some friends and we are gladly doing this trip again next February. I HIGHLY recommend it

Totally ripped off – Booking Q355733 booked through [Name Removed] We booked a family holiday to go along in NZ. The booking included accommodation, ski hire ski passes and car rental. 3 first time skiers and 1 beginner skier. Accommodation was good. However when we arrived the car we were given was not what was on the paperwork. It was too small to carry a family of… Read more
5 and all the ski gear to the mountain. When initially we rung about the vehicle was told I’m in Australia what do you want me to do about it. Then decided they would organise the car exchange. We were told there was a difference and if we could pay it we would be refunded. There was a 80 a day difference once paid 5 days. [Name Removed] at Ozsnow decided she was only going to refund the $80 not the full amount. [Name Removed] refused numerous times to provide a managers details or any information. In the ski hire area we had to attend their ski hire place three different times and days to get a pair of men’s 13 ski boots. We told [Name Removed] we did not want to ski consecutive days which she assured us we didn’t have to. [Name Removed] then booked the ski lesson consecutive days and never told us they inline the ski passes were not flexible. Save your money go directly to Ski NZ they have everything sorted including ski hire on the mountain storage passes etc
Absolutely rubbish customer service – The company lives by flight centre selling packages and paying commissions to travel agents .The flight centre agent takes the money and then turns around after payment and informs unable to change as you will be travelling in under 60 days At no stage was there any information about 100 percent loss of all moneys paid ,both flight centre the… Read more
agent and ozsnow laugh all the way to the bank and supply nothing.ozsnow struck that they own the hotel ski hire shop but they are not willing to make any changes, just destroy people's dreams
Cheap for a reason – No customer service, read terms and conditions before you book as there is no common sense in them and if anything goes wrong the customer carries full responsibility. Once you paid there's no way back. The rental was supposed to be open until midnight, it was closed at 10pm, no refund was given. We were told they were opened. The door was locked… Read more
and lights were off, even the security door was closed. OzSnow said that we must have got to the wrong place as they were opened. There was logo above the door, I don't think we were in the wrong place.

Don't do it! – We had been prepared for budget accommodation, but this managed to disappoint even further than our already low expectations. We had attended a 6 day trip in August 2022. Transport - On the way down from Sydney, the trip was very disorganised. Nobody was checking your name/booking on entering the bus and there appeared to be no order. We stopped… Read more
at Goulburn McDonalds at the same time as 4-5 other OzSnow buses.. and waited over 30 mins to get food (when we were supposed to be back on the bus in 30 minutes). I can handle some disorganisation though.. and seeing other guests reviews we weren't hopeful. But what we could not handle... was men in their 40s-80s, drinking on the bus home. They were so drunk and loud (also reeked of cigarettes), they were scaring all of the younger girls on the trip. Worst of all, they repeatedly tried opening the toilet door when using the bus bathroom, knowing that there was someone in there. They also later urinated on the bus.. even though the toilet was not being used. This was disgusting. When the bus manager was told, he made no action to fix the situation. The website stated to travel to perisher you needed to purchase a ski tube ticket as the bus would only take patrons to Thredbo. So, we purchased these extra $200 ski tube tickets, to find out that they were actually not required and the website just hadn't been updated since last season. Oz Snow has refused to reimburse this ticket price despite being falsely advertised and therefore clearly against the ACCC.
Meals - 3 courses is extremely generous. This food is slop, cold and flavourless to put it simply. The lines were long to get food. The servings were very tight.. with each person being allowed only one piece of bread at breakfast..even if getting nothing else. The vegetarian or special meals were scarce. But again - we already had low expectations.
Accommodation - Snowy Gums is a 10-15 minute drive to Jindabyne. So unless you have a car, you have to use the courtesy buses from banjos or the bowls club to avoid having dinner at this dive. We had paid for a twin room with a shared bathroom. Assuming we would be sharing the bathroom with another twin room. No - we shared with a dorm of 8 people. This bathroom has the shower, sink and toilet all in one room. Very inconvenient when sharing between 10 people. The bathroom was very dirty, with the soaking wet shower mat being changed once during our stay. There was pubic hair and mould throughout the bathroom. the bin in the bathroom was also tiny and constantly full with food scraps and beer cans - leaving no place for sanitary products. There was no central heating as advertised. Our bedroom had just enough floor space to walk around the bed and just enough room to fold our snowboard bags in the corner. To make matters even worse, the curtains were so short that when standing outside of our room, you could see someone sleeping/lying in bed through the gap.
Overall, OzSnow is yes - cheap. But to be frank, I have had far better experiences in other locations for the same price with far less dirty and dingy accomodation and poor service. I would avoid the company at all costs.
I could honestly continue to describe the lack of care factor from any staff we interacted with and continue to fault the accommodation and company itself. But I'm sure you get the hint... I would never recommend this company to anyone.
NO WORDS!! DISGUSTING. DON'T STAY AT SNOWY GUMS – Where do I begin. We stayed here from 5th to 12th August this year. I had booked pre Oz snow taking over then was told I had to re-book with them. As it was too late to book anywhere else I had to agree with paying an extra $2,000. We had a family of 5 and I specified to Oz Snow that I had booked a family room with separate rooms as I was… Read more
sharing with Daughter, Son in law and Grandchildren and wanted the same room. When I got there it was one small room with two long lounges ?? not sure what they were put together to make a double bed. and 2 lots of double bunks. I was ropable as this is not what I asked for and I think it was [Name Removed] had called head office in Bondi ([Name Removed]) and I could tell by her body language that they just did not care and wanted to just get rid of me. I could see some eye rolling and was handed the phone. [Name Removed] mentioned both [Name Removed] and [Name Removed] who I dealt with had left the company and couldn't help me (how clever of them, Hope you went to a company that cares).
[Name Removed] mentioned that she would look at past emails as I asked for some sort of compensation. And I never heard from her again. Not even to say hey sorry but I could not help you. And why would they help us??? Once they have the money that's all that matters.
No power points near the beds, one on wall near tiny table with 2 chairs and one in bathroom. No kettle, no communal fridge as told by previous owners. No nothing. I had to call my Daughter every time I had a shower as the shower door rail was broken and you needed two people to open the shower door.
Beds had a fitted sheet and a quilt on top. I had to wonder if the cups were dirty and everyone had their hands in the bread, were the quilts ever washed????? Yuk??? Especially with COVID hanging about.
As mentioned by [Name Removed] on 14th August. Everything she said was spot on so I will not repeat all of that just some of it. You either got eggs for breakfast or you didn't or you got something that kind of looked like eggs but weren't. Half menu missing. Spot on [Name Removed]. Forget hygiene. With COVID in it's peak. It was lets put out the three loaves of stale bread that was probably in the freezer and let every man fend for themselves. So every man and his dog had their hands in the bread packet. Cups were dirty. If no milk which often happened then it was a replacement of long life milk if that at all.
Asked the guy at the bar if the pizzas had olives on them as my Grandchildren loved olives and he said "yeah but I don't know which one" quite relaxed about it all. No one gave a crap!!!.
The minute I see Oz Snow advertised I quickly move on to the next choice.
I hope I have helped some poor person before they book this disgraceful place.
What saddens me is that people will probably still book and get ripped off but I can only try to save at least a few people from this disaster.
Good luck guys?
Viv

Snowy gums - no one cares. Zero stars – Snowy gums has just been taken over by OZ Snow and the place feels like it’s gone to ruins. Staff smoke at front door and drink all night long - some mornings no one even woke up to cook the breakfast we… Read more
had pre paid for. No one knows anything and no one cares. The place is a run down dump being run by young unfriendly people who don’t care. Shame on you OZ Snow - you have dropped the ball and are ripping people off who stay here. It’s not hard to provide good service especially with the experience and amount of other places you run. I’ll be avoiding all properties associated with OZ Snow in the future.
Terrible – Never again!! Booked a 2 nights stay with ski hire and lift tickets. We were rushed in and out of ski hire that our ski boots didn’t even fit properly we had blisters and bruises around our legs. Unable to use lift pass due to pain caused by I’ll-fitting ski boots. rudely with no outcome, The staff were extremely rude to each other and during the bus ride home we witnessed the tour guide abusing what is to be assumed staff with zero shame. The food supplied was extremely small serving sizes and cold aswell as no help from the company to assist first time skiers or give a suggestion of other things to do. The company is extremely unorganised and rushed, we got off the bus at almost 1 am and we had to go get ski boots and skis they just shoved a random pair on your feet hoping they would fit, my boots were to small and multiple other issues such as skis and boots not being the same size occurred with no apology. The directions to where the bus picked up in Sydney was incredibly unhelpful and when we rang the helpline they were most definitely not helpful. Only good thing was the bus back to the hotel from the snow purely so I could drown my sorrows in alcohol at the local pub and not have to drive home.
The worst experience – the worst experience I ever had in my life, I arrived at the hostel today and they put me in a room with a double bed and two singles, the double bed was for me and my boyfriend, but it was a very unpleasant situation I slept in a bed like this along with two men in the other singles bed. another detail 11 people to use a toilet, this is… Read more
disrespectful. the room was dirty, on my bed it looked like someone had been lying on it. worst experience, don't buy package with them. I tried to contact ozsnow several times, but I didn't have any emails answered and when I tried to pick up there, the service was terrible
Scammers – Quoted an amount for my trip. Booked it in and made other travel arrangements around it. Awesome experience with the staff at Ozsnow in Aus – We were treated like VIPs from when we were picked up from the airport by Kel, to being fitted with our gear, transported to and from our accomodation to Perisher Valley by Ant and to being showed around the ski fields by Eion. Very grateful for the wonderful experience and couldn't have asked for a better time. We even got an upgrade on our accomodation which was fantastic. Thanks so much guys!! Show details
Terrible – Customer service is horrible, the people working at ozsnow blantly tell lies and the terms are unclear. I hope this customer loses customers because you're better off booking on your own. Show details
A company void of ethics – OzSnow have retrospectively tried to make it apparent to its customers that no refunds will be given to them due to COVID lockdowns cancelling trips. Staff Promised Credit Due To Covid Lockdowns Then Renegged. Unacceptable – Poorly trained staff, super unhelpful. Don't risk booking during covid. We booked a holiday 5 months ago. if you can't get here because of covid, you can get a credit and re-book. So I paid my final amount.
Come to last Monday. 60+ new Covid cases in NSW in a day. I call up as things aren't looking good, tell them my Booking Name and travel date, and ask the same question to which they respond "as soon as there's an official lockdown extension for greater Sydney, you can apply for a credit", which I repeated back on the phone to be sure, and so a few days later there's an official extension of lockdown so I call back regarding the credit to be told that the staff member had 'misinformed me' and they would not in fact issue a credit as the border is not shut down.
Due to the large number of hotspots in NSW, and the QLD directive not to enter the state, we are not able to risk going on our trip, so will lose the entire amount paid. And now I'm responsible for telling my kids that not only can we not go on this holiday, but we also can't go on another any time soon because they're refusing a credit that was promised.
This company needs to learn what integrity is -- if you promise something, you follow through with it.
Extremely Upsetting Situation
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY – They are untrustworthy, they do not have any ethics, they should not be able to hold a travel license, terrible customer service, They should be ashamed of their conduct. I’d give them 0/5 if that was an option. Do not book with them! Show details

DO NOT BOOK WITH OZSNOW – I'd HIGHLY recommend NOT booking with Oz Snow, especially during Covid, unless you want to lose your money!!! Will not refund money during Covid19 boarder restrictions – Ask for a refund instead of credit due to Covid19 restrictions. Flat out refused refund. What good is a credit when there’s a good chance there will be the same restrictions next year, the snow could be bad next year, the cost of everything next year may be to much, we might not have jobs next year. really enjoyed Oz Snow – Had such a fun time on our 7 day powder trip to Madarao & Hakuba, the properties were basic but clean and staff friendly. Don't expect 5 star, both properties were so close to the ski lift it was very handy to get back after a long day on the slopes, then you have the bar right there so you can discuss the day and enjoy a drink!
