I've had a few ozito products mostly they've been ok but the VWD-1220 20L wet and dry vacuum is a waste of money. the 1250W motor has reasonable suction. however the hose is stiff plastic and hard to use, the hose attachments are flimsy and there's nowhere to store them on the machine, the cord is so short it always needs an extension so then then… Read more
plug pulls out often, after the 3rd use one of the puny wheels broke off, the dust bag wraps around the motor so it hardly holds anything, also the dust bag has no positive engagement to the suction pipe, the motor is very noisy.
I own a few Ozito products and generally happy with them especially for the price. This vacuum however is a really light weight cheap and nasty piece of rubbish. When I picked up the box at bunnings and it felt empty, that should have been my first clue,it weighs about the same as a Miele hose and head. The design is such that the tiny motor… Read more
wrecks the vaccum bag because it is hard up against the bag which is about as solid as tissue paper. The hose feels like something off a kid's toy and regularly comes out of the vacuum as it is a press fit, not latches or anything. Also the hose is quite rigid and to get the nozzle in the right direction for vacuuming you have to twist it where it connects to the vacuum. Suction is pretty good but the rest is not.

✅ REALLY SUCKS big time 5⭐ – Ok big rave, taking into consideration the low price. Took dry flood level 'marks' off my inside walls, been there months. Insurance Co been and gone. Needed to replace flood damaged Dyson. Thought buy cheap vacuum, until had time to rebuy more expensive. I'll say that, it's hose is a cheap one. Cord not long, but I've got ext cords, it's a… Read more
little loud but as I sucked up everything I pointed the hose to. It was gone fast as. That's all I wanted. So went around high, low and in between and the slightly higher noise didn't bother me. I've brought 5 other Ozito items over the years. All good. Message to Ozito, just charge more $ for more high quality hose? as it's a bit stiff. But for $79.95, I'm so surprised, at its performance. So I'll give it 5 stars all the way, why? because of the price, which personally was high value in regards to what I needed it for. Quite a hard job. Now I have to vacuum the outside, house 'flood waterline' on exterior walls (dried on hard leaves dirt/mud twigs etc). Beats a scrubbing brush. Has longish bristles easy as, to peel off my long hair/cotton threads and then suck it all up the hose. This machine just doesnt miss a beat. No problemo. Don't think (my old Dyson lost in flood now) could of sucked dried debry, off the walls, as well as this little Wizz buzz.
Helps With Extracting Wood Shavings From a Thicknesser – I initially purchased a 20 litre capacity Ozito Wet and Dry vacuum cleaner primarily for extracting wood shavings from my Ryobi RAP1500G thicknesser during March 2021 and to vacuum any sawdust from a concrete shed floor. I also attach it to a Triton work bench to collect saw dust from my saw. Although it had sufficient power to collect shavings… Read more
from the thicknesser, the 20 litre capacity was very inadequate and not fit for the purpose I bought it for. Bunnings cheerfully permitted me to exchange it for a 35 litre capacity vacuum, even when the 20 litre vacuum had been clearly used, and I have been using the 35 litre model since. The vacuum motor is adequate, but could benefit from being more powerful due to the wood shavings occasionally clogging the thicknesser's dust chute if I try to do thicker shaves on my work. The PTO is a good idea as this enables the vacuum to continue extracting wood shavings or sawdust while the thicknesser and circular saw are coming to a standstill. I have found the 35 litre capacity means I don't have to stop work as often and empty the drum as often I did with the 20 litre capacity vacuum.
UPDATE 07/09/2021:
Since placing this review I've had to exchange the Ozito 35 litre twice for a faulty PTO switch. The first time it wouldn't work with a power tool plugged in and the power tool turned on. The second time it wouldn't work unless an power tool was being used. I've come to the conclusion that although the suction is adequate, the switch is very cheaply made. No more Ozito vacuum for me as I have paid the extra for a Ryobi.
Picks up better than my Dyson. Excellent value for money – I needed a second vacuum to do my workshop and garage as I didn't want to get the Dyson dirty. This Ozito was on sale at my local DIY store for £59 so I thought I'd give it a go. I have now used it a few times and I am very impressed how good it is, it can cope with anything. I have eradicated every cobweb, wood shaving and damp leaf from my… Read more
garage and workshop. The suction is very powerful and I have gone around my workshop picking up quite heavy items from the floor using the vacuum. Beware though as if it is small enough you will lose it up the hose :) I have only used on minor spills which it sucked up without complaint and by untwisting the hose from the vacuum hole to the blower hole you have a leaf/dust blower! It's just great. My only moan is the lead could be longer but I use an extension lead with it. I do find myself using it in the house when I need to vacuum heavy mess i.e sand from the beach, glitter from playtime or flour from baking and just use the Dyson for the daily light carpet vacuuming which should extend the life of the Dyson.

Does the job, just outside – We bought this to clean our epoxy floor in our shed and the exposed agg around it. It does quite a good job on both surfaces, sometimes needs a couple goes to get small tiny off cuts from welding, but does hold a lot in the filter. It’s main downside is that the cord is a bit short for our area 7x7.5 and have to move it around to fully clean. It… Read more
also does tip over a bit if you don’t move it slowly and guide it. We use it weekly and are happy with the purchase. Would buy again.
Great little shop vacuum – Needed to get some indoor sanding done with the orbital and didn't want to make a mess. Into Bunnings I go and for $59 I get this little beauty, this vacuum sucks, in the right way. For the money I reckon this is a great little unit, it even has the power take off for your dustless tool on it so it only runs when you start the tool. Powerful… Read more
suction for cleaning up after the job is done too. The only thing I don't like is that the suction hose is a bit shorter than is useful, but for the money you can't go wrong with this vacuum.
Best vacuum cleaner ever – I used the cleaner on my neighbours car interior and wow what a result dog hair, rocks ,grass and general dirt was no match for this tidy little unit our car and hers now look smick i also used the blower port on the vac and now car drying will be so easy Show details · 1

What's up with the incorrect vacuum head supplied? – Indeed a great product, except for the funky vacuum head, replete with brushes and rubber stopper but no wheels. So here I'm on my way to buy a universal vacuum head. Unreal, I'm stunned! 3 star rating only due to the vacuum head issue! Show details
About as powerful as a flat battery powered vacuum – Suction so weak that it can barely suck up a speck of dust. Vacuum hose is very thin so stuff (leaves, etc) gets stuck in it easily and is hard to get out. Attachments are plasticy, poor quality and stick to floors with some kind of rubber rake rather than a brush - weird. I've persevered with this, adjusted the filter bag, made sure the hose is clear, to no avail. Going in the rubbish and will need to buy something else. Show details
Poor suction, very noisy, not worth the money – Tried to vacuum out the carpets in my car this afternoon - barely moved the dirt. It is incredibly noisy, and the air pressure blowing out would have to be ten times what is sucked in. Go figure. It will be going back to Bunnings tonight. Show details

It does the job – Bought mine in 2019 to go with a thicknesser I bought also. It does the job well enough to keep the shed clean. Now use it with a table saw full-time. Haven't used the 'wet' portion of the vacuum though, however during my renovations it coped a flogging with gyprock dust and everything else in between and is still going. Show details

Don’t waste your money – A broom works better. I bought this vacuum and it barely works on shaggy rugs. Next to no suction to vac up even the basic of household floor dirt. I bought the small one, 12L, absolutely useless. Show details
EXCELLENT – 5 stars++ I bought the 18v Power Xchange version of this and couldn't be happier, works like a charm and picks up everything on the hard floors, that being said it does struggle with the dog hair on the carpets, but for the price it's fantastic. With the 4A/hr battery it runs for several days throughout a 3 bedroom house. Great value for money and with an awesome guarantee as well... Show details
It’s worthy – I have a timber floor indoor and tiles outdoor, it’s good for both. I love the wet and dry options. It works well, and it surprised me that it vacuumed fine dust from the carpet. It’s a bit noisy, but understandable for the price... Great pricing though. Show details
Bought at 11 returned at 1. With lunch break in between – Soooooo noisy. Poor suction really. Motor blew in 20 min. Took longer to read instructions and construct than it lasted. Good thing is Bunnings don't hassle at all with warranty. Don't bother. Show details
This sucker saved my bacon! – Uh-oh... the handyman has scrubbed the roof without disconnecting the drinking water tank... used this to vacuum out the muck in the bottom! It worked perfectly. Only gripe is the head attachment is not bent as much as other vacuums, so cannot sit flat at some angles. But for the money it is powerful, reliable, hasn't lost power like other vacuums I have had. Handyman is going to buy one now! Show details
Does the job I brought it for – This was an excellent buy. I cleaned the whole garage after weeks of no dust extraction and daily landscaping. I now have the Power Takeoff plugged into the dropsaw and permanently attached to the vacuum. Works a treat! Show details
Very impressed – I chose this 1530 machine due to the power and so far it has surpased my expectations. The machine has excellent suction and what made it even better is I found I can add my Accessories from my old vacuum cleaners Show details
water is blown out during wet vaccuming – I was vacuuming water and water is blown out through the blower... how to stop water coming out through blower dow not serv the purpose. I was vacuuming the water from bath floor and dirty water was blown out through the blower nozzle all around and made the house dirty Show details
As good as my Dyson – Only if rough rolling on unsolid surface I compared this $60 to my Dyson. A must have for a good monthly clean, I spray surface with disinfectant n vac it straight up. No tricky buttons or attachments to screw, they just slide in. Love this A+ It's big n bulky n cord is short but this is well worth the money. I wish I knew about these before I spent $1000 on my dry only regular vacuum Show details

Very powerful and portable – I always liked the vacuum with a big canister where the air flow just cyclone inside it. Compared to the usual vacuum with very small dust container that must be emptied every 15 minutes it makes a big difference. The Negatives: 1. There is no small particles filter around the main motor suction system. A dust bag must be fitted otherwise dust… Read more
would come out via the exhaust orifice.
2. The brush head has no rollers, so whatever is stuck inside a carpet hook cannot be extracted despite the great suction power.. Otherwise no problem.
3. Several times I had the main tube falling from the handle. It fits fine, but sometimes, if the head is getting pulled a bit, after a while the tube just falls off. No biggie but slightly annoying.
4. When assembling the unit, several caster wheels just fell off when putting the vacuum standing. My best option was to cut a small strip of paper tower and roll it around the caster wheel pin before inserting it. Worked very well and no glue so easier to take off if needed.
5. No high capacity battery provided in the purchase
6. Accessories holder not holding that well. Just OK but could be better designed to grip the accessory in place stronger
The Positives:
1. With 4 Ah battery, I ran it through the entire 4 bedroom house (both with carpet and vinyl floors) and there is still some juice after 20 minutes.
2. Nothing to worry about a cord being too short to reach some corners. it is weird the first time when you are used to hold the electric cord along the vacuum handle to go forth and back.
3. Accessories can be put on the vacuum rings making it easier to exchange it when needed.
4. The dust bag last quite a long time. We used it about 3 times now and still far from being full. Unlike another vacuum stick we bought for the same price with a tiny 0.5L dust container capacity that needed to be emptied after each room!
5. The exhaust output can be used to blow things (computer keyboards, block drains etc...)
6. Overall very light if it must be carried, even with the battery in
7. Wet AND Dry! Try this with a Dyson...
8. Amazing suction power for a battery powered vacuum. Really impressive.
Wishes:
1. Real dust filter around the motor head, removing the need for a dust bag
2. Revise the caster wheel assembly
3. Revise the hold up of the tubes with the handle
4. Provide a "dual battery socket" so both batteries could be used at the same time
5. Have an accessory handling system on the unit with a better design so some accessories do not fall easily
6. Offer the option for a roller head for carpet. I know this is more like a vacuum for a workshop type environment, but it is so nice to use in a residential home that it would beat all other cordless vacuums on the market!
The total cost is quite high when you end up buying:
1 x Wet and Dry Vacuum at $99
2 x 4 Ah batteries at $69 each ($138)
1 x Double battery fast charger $55
But considering that we also bought a couple of other power X range Ozito tools using the same batteries, it makes it much more affordable. The batteries are really good.
Overall I would recommend this purchase. Still much cheaper than a Dyson at $900 with a small dust container capacity that the battery can not be used in any other device...
Not much of a vacuum cleaner – I purchased the 18V cordless version of this unit and it is useless. It has hardly any power at all. It is supposed to last 17 minutes but after 1 minutes of struggling I gave up. So I cant comment on the battery life. To use it to pickup dust you are supposed to install a paper bag (supplied) but the instruction booklet shows something inside the… Read more
canister that is totally different to the real thing. There is no way you can connect the paper bag to inside the canister. I am seriously thinking of returning it to Bunnings. It might be ok for picking small things around a workshop. Especially that it has no cord and easily moveable. Not recommended for any serious cleaning work.
It is a good product for the price range – The vacuum does not tip over and it has powerful suction, but the cord is too short, I only pay $50 dollars so for the money I pay it does a good job, I haven't tried the wet function, it uses paper bags for storing the rubbish and it can be difficult to find the bags in any shop if you do not have the specific type of vacuum cleaner, but I guess… Read more
that would be the same with any type of vacuum cleaner that uses paper bags, I got it from bunnings so I go to get the bags from Bunnings, changing the bags is easy, cleaning is easy,
Wet dry vac isn’t very good at all. Hardly worth using it – I’ve got the ozito dry vac work shed. It’s 1100w. It’s very disappointing for the first one I ever bought. Not much sucking at all. Doesn’t pick up hardly anything unless I go back and forwards and circles etc. I’ve tried taking all the extension poles of so it just hose to floor head. No difference. I’m wondering if the hose is way to wide. It’s like 80mm. Show details
The sucking inlet stoped working and had to get replaced – I used the ozito for less than a day to clean up some wood dust and then it began to stop sucking in things. My grandfather has the same unit so I put them side by side and mine was definitely not working properly. I had to take it back and Bunnings for free upgrades it to the next wattage. Show details
Good Outside Vac – The great thing about this vac is that it does wet and dry. I can skim over the tile and pick up all the water and it works great like this. I really felt weird doing this the first time, like I was doing something wrong. Its got a heap of power and a simple but rugged design Show details
Crude but effective – This is about as simple as you can get - a metal bucket on wheels with a lid that has a motor on it. Its develops good suction but the filter system is extremely basic. When you run it in the sun you can see the fine dust streaming out o it. I would never use this inside the house for that reason, except to pick up liquids. For general shop duties it has good power. Crude but effective Show details
Hardy and robust industrial vacuum – I use this in my garage to pick up mostly wood shavings. has not missed a beat and is hardy and robust in construction. All the"action" is in the lid where the motor is leaving the entire body space as the dust bin. It holds a lot before it needs emptying and is solid metal construction. Glad I bought it Show details
Good power and very useful – I am happy with this machine. Its already earned its place, despite being less than a year old. Its amazing just how many jobs there are for an "outside" vacuum once you have one. Lots of power and a strong design, also very simple to use and simple to empty. It was only $65 so its good value too. Show details
EXCELLENT value industrial vacuum – This is a really good industrial style wet AND dry vacuum. It has already earned its place many times over . Its got way more suction than you would think. I nearly passed it over at Bunnings because it was "only" 1200 watts but trust me, it has more than enough power at the hose. This can happily take a punishing - its good value Show details
Very good shop vac – Tis has been one of my better purchases - t was only $65 but its done a ton of work already. I mostly use it to clean the caravan and the car but it can do wet clean ups too and that has been excellent. It very strongly made but quite simple. Really a metal dustbin with a moor and filter in the lid. Suction is strong. My only suggestion would be… Read more
to take care to dry the filter thoroughly if using it wet as this makes a big difference. Good product.
Still going – Still going. Probably had it for about 10 years. Washed the filter with the hose a few times and good as new.
Hose pipes won't hold together – Sections of hose won't stay together. Will need to screw or glue. Renders otherwise excellent product too difficult to use. Show details
