OzKleen Mould Power

As at early 2026, Ozkleen have changed the formulation, and now it's a disgusting urine yellow colour. It used to be white and smell fine, but now it's a gross smelly yellow. I thought maybe I got unlucky so I went to Woolworths and checked all the Ozkleen mould power on the shelf, and it was all disgusting yellow. Thankfully Woolworths gave… Read more
me a store credit and I've started using exit mould.
I tried emailing Ozkleen but they didn't bother responding.
If I could transmute this product into a roll of toilet paper, I'd wipe my butt with it. Even at half price I still mourn the loss of my $3.70. The only redeeming quality is the brush at the end of the spray nozzle. Show details
Follow-up · I left it on for 5 minutes as per the instructions. I used it to treat dark shower mould exactly as shown on the bottle. I ended up using Domestos (although I would guess any other Sodium Hypochlorite concoction would work), left it on for a couple of minutes and the mould basically decomposed and flaked away.

Disappointed – I used a very cheap bleach based mould remover a few days ago and it did an amazing job. Like, I actually couldn't believe how thorough and quickly it worked. Today I tried OzKleen Mould Power and won't say it doesn't work at all. It must do something. I tried it on a door - no result at all. Then I tried it on a roof...I'm now left with a mark on… Read more
the roof and the mould only slightly less dark in appearance. I will attatch a picture of this. I thought it odd when noticing you're only supposed to leave it on for 30 seconds before wiping away. Bleach based removers are much stronger and expect 5 minutes or so. The mould reduction picture sequence on the label is misleading. I want to give this one star honestly but it's probably better on tiles etc. Think I'll stick with the cheap bleach based mould remover and brave the fumes. Only keeping this bottle of OzKleen to test on fabric should I need to in the future. One thing it has going for it is it doesn't smell bad. Almost smells like lemon.
BUY EXIT MOULD – It gets one star only because it won't let me give it 0 ..This product is at best Absolute rubbish shame on U for selling this rubbish that doesn't come close to doing wot it's suppose to do. EXIT MOULD is far supirior Show details
It does work – This product does work at removing and inhibiting mould growth. It is NOT a stain remover. First, use this to remove the actual mould spores. Use something else to treat stains. This worked wonders on my shower floor. I sprayed and left for awhile, then came back at it with a large scrubbing brush and the mould lifted off so easily. Perfect for… Read more
winter when it is harder to keep the bathroom dry. The photo I have attached is after my first use in a rental house with a shower that was not very clean and I'm very happy with the results.

It doesn’t remove the mold – If this product worked it would be absolutely amazing! As there isn’t harsh chemicals Unforgiving it simply doesn’t work on its own, The mold I have was hard core, it simply didn’t even wipe it off the surface, It worked when used with something like the Shelly’s sugar soap wipes…. But not on its own If the mold isn’t coming off on the… Read more
surface is it really “dead”
I also had a curtin covered in mold, put it through the wash twice…. Nothing moldy as like I had wasted my time, double strength vinegar in the laundry sink… again useless as and I mean completely useless…
It was only bleach that got rid of the mold
It has been argued on some forums that bleach only covers it…
Well I have an allergy to mold, myself after putting that other curtin through if the vinegar had worked I would not have been feeling itchy and sneezing like hay fever…
Bleach stopped this itchiness and sneezing feeling so yeah
On close inspection while we are on the topic if you then went for exit mold… have a look at the ingredients… just chemicals names for bleach
So just be careful with what brand you use for mold remover
Great customer service response to my complaint about the bottle. Product works and always has – Update on my below review about the leaky bottle I dont know if they have fixed that yet but they did get in touch and apologised and said they appreciated my feedback and sent me a whole lot of free product. I complained to them via facebook and as far as i am aware they have not seen this review so i have no reason to think the free product… Read more
was to ask me to change this review. It was never ever mentioned by me or them during our correspondence.
So i am giving them a 5 star because they obviously care about doing the right thing and respond in a positive way to any critical feedback they receive. I think the measure of a company is not how good they are when you only have a good experience to start. It is how they respond when you dont have a 100% good experience and how well they listen to you and try to make it right. And for that reason I give them a 5 star.
Original review: This product does work. It does not remove mould stains, it kills mould.
If you are expecting it to remove mould stains ie from black mould which has sunk into a porous surface, it wont. But it will kill mould and doesn't leave so many toxic fumes you cant go near the place for a few hours.
However the bottle it comes in absolutely sucks. It leaks around the neck. I have had more than one bottle of this product do this, and last time i got one with the groceries it leaked all over some stock feed i had in the car on the way home and ruined a $40 sack of stock feed. In nz it is now $12 a bottle so if i am only getting to use half the bottle (as the rest leaks out), and on top of that anything it is close to, gets covered in the stuff, then it is very expensive. Ie for half a bottle it cost me $52 when you include the $40 stock feed which was no longer aafe to feed my birds and the fact that only 50% of it was usable. I have purchased more than one bottle which has leaked, enough that i am pretty sure this is an ongoing problem with the bottle they are using, and not a one off faulty spray bottle. The spray is also not great as someone else said, it is more of a stream and hard to get good coverage without using a ton of product.
I thought the leaking was if the bottle accidentally tipped on its side on the way home from the supermarket, but tonight a bottle has leaked over my bench while standing upright and covered a plastic bag of food which was unfortunately nearby, and the smell is so strong the food is ruined and had to be chucked.
I'm not even sure where it leaked from, no obvious split or crack, but the outside of ghe bottom of the bottle is dripping with the stuff and its been standing upright on the bench all day.
Ozkleen PLEASE, fix the leaking bottles on your NZ Stock. I love the product but i am going to have to find a different product because the leaking issue is a big problem and if i have to pay $5-$6 for a separate spray bottle (and take that to the supermarket so it doesn't leak on stuff during the drive home) then it goes from $12 to $17-18 nzd for a small bottle and becomes too expensive for me.
If anyone reading this post has also had leaking bottles please post and say so, maybe if more people complain about this they will fix it....
I did message them about this back in April and they told me the manager was in Australia but would get back to me when he got back. That was 4 months ago so not sure if the manager has moved to Australia, but 4 mths later i am pretty sure he isn't planning on getting back to me...
So unless they fix this i will use the only voice I have which is my wallet, and buy something from someone else. It would have gotten 5 stars if the bottles didn't leak or even iv they got back to me and made some effort to fix the leaky bottle issue.
Wonderful product! Almost perfect – The reviews on this product really shows who understands how mould works and who doesn’t. This mould killer is not a stain remover. It kills the spores on the item, it doesn’t hide it like all the bleach based products do. Anyone who is doubtful please try. This product is beloved by my family and many others who have survived toxic mould… Read more
environments. It kills the spores in the item and over time prevents growth.
You may need to use it regularly in damp places. If you have mould growing in grout super badly it may not get all the way in and so may not be as effective in that area.
But everywhere else it’s great, including once when the ceiling started growing spores and stank. Applied it once with a cloth on a stick and it never it came back.
Yes, if you have an inspection go get the bleach based garbage to hide the mould stains. The mould is still active though. You’ll know this cause It will grow back super quickly.
For this product, It does need a scrub for anything truely embedded in something, not just a spray and wipe.
Leave it for 15 min for bad infestations. But it can leave faint yellow discolourations if left too long so spot test and be sensible.
Use this for the actual killing of mould on a surface. Hiding mould stains is a different ball game.
Has been a literal life saver for health and happiness. I have no association with the company. Just a big fan. Cheers.

100% it sure worked for me!!! – I purchased this at Aldi and found it to be the best product I’ve ever used for mould. Very upset Aldi no longer have it, however I will buy it online. To not have to cope with the smell of bleach smell is fantastic. At 81 I’ve used a lot of products in my life to combat mould and this is the best.
Totally works - the only thing that actually gets rid of mould – I have used this product for several years in different rentals, and it really does get rid of the mould. It is hard to get hold of it though - I rarely see it in coles or woolies anymore but might try my local IGA. It's worth paying the postage to get it online though, which is what I usually end up doing. I love it, it's a life saver and a game… Read more
changer. And a bonus in that it doesn't contain bleach, which, aside from smelling hideous, doesn't actually kills mould. I usually leave it on for a bit, especially if the mould is bad. Works on mildew too. (And I've used it on black mould)
works so well – I have used this in many situations now and find it amazing. I will not bleach off mould stains off white grout but kills the mould so well. I have also used this on a rug that got wet in one part in storage and it totally removed all traces of mould and smell. I would have had to throw away a wool rug worth hundreds of dollars if it were not for… Read more
this. I will say the spray nozzles on some of the bottle are not great though, actually bad but that is something I would but up with.
Negative reviews
There is something strange going on with this product. I have just read a bunch of reviews, and either people say it works a treat or they say it doesn't work at all. Unfortunately I am in the latter category. Tried it on my van (twice), on a straw hat, on a wooden bath mat. On the positive side, it didn't bleach out my straw hat or the wooden mat… Read more
(which a bleach-based product would have done), but it did absolutely nothing to the mould in all cases. I am wondering whether the quality control is faulty, and some bottles are getting through with almost no active ingredient... P.S. bought at Aldi, I used to get MouldAway which worked a treat (but with the downside of a bleaching agent).

Not fit for purpose – Do not waste your money on this product, it does not kill mould. I tried as recommended, it did not work, then left it on overnight to see if that would work the mould still remained. Not fit for purpose! Show details
Not impressed – Bought this thinking it should do the trick but no. When spraying in the shower and sinks when mould would start to appear, it only helped about 10-15% in comparison the supermarket Coles and woollies branded ones. Bought the Woolworths one after a few weeks of using Mould Power with no luck and first time using it in sink, came back later and it… Read more
was completely white. So I’m not going to use this Mould Power again and stick to the cheap old faithfuls from Woolies and Coles.

It’s the best mould product I tried. It doesn’t remove the stains immediately, but it works remarkably well by removing the stains permanently after a while. I had mould stains on my blinds for years, and I used all sorts of products. They all managed to removed most of the stains, by bleaching the mould, but the stains would always come back. I… Read more
tried Oz last year, using very small amount because I was worried it would damage the blinds. The result is amazing: absolutely no traces of mould left, no stain whatsoever on my blinds that now look new, despite the very wet weather we had lately. So if you want a permanent solution, I recommend this product.
Oz Kleen Mould Power – This is a poor product for mould removal. It is far too weak to perform the function. Brush on nozzle really no serves no purpose. I have limited mould build up in my bathroom but i found the product does little to lift build up. This product is not in the same league as Exit Mould. Sorry to the manufacturers
SHOCK! It doesn’t work! – I don’t know how I got pulled in by that label saying ‘shock it works’. Completely useless product. Did nothing at all except smell the house out. Wish I could return it! Show details
Doesn't remove tile grout mould – I've tried white vinegar, bleach and water mix, another supposed mould killer product and now this. My tile grout mould varies from just visible to black in one spot. It didn't work at all - not even close. Very disappointing. Don't waste your money. Show details
Stains white grout – Just used in my shower and it has stained all my white grout a blotchy orange… no warning that I could see on the bottle. Now I’ve had to use a bleach based mould spray to remove it…hopefully it works but I’m still worried…and my sinuses are going to be screwed until for days which is the whole reason I bought mould away I the first place…to avoid harsh chemicals. Amazing
Spray lets this product down! – The product itself seemed to work in dealing with mould so a good alternative to chlorine based products. Unfortunately it is very hard to dispense as a spray from the bottle rendering it almost useless in applying it to the tiles etc. Show details
Excellent product – Don’t expect it to remove black mould stains, but it does kill the mould and if it’s only surface mould it does get rid of it. I’ve used it on everything from walls, fabric blinds, painted wood and metal around windows, leather shoes and bags, bamboo clothes basket and even a black wool coat. Doesn’t damage anything as bleach does or have the… Read more

Mould power, more like no power – Bought the Mould Power, as it was on special at Woolies. Did not work, the spray is pathetic and did not remove any mould, it just made the shower soapy....... Going back to the good stuff. Show details
Good Product – I'm very happy with Mould Power. We've just bought a house that's due a 'facelift', the bathrooms especially. Mould Piwer removed the mould in the bathrooms very well. The grout, however, is stained in places. It didn't remove the stains. I'll definitely buy it again. Show details
Don’t waste your money or time – Bought this product as it was on special and is environmentally friendly. Sadly it didn’t work at all. I used the whole bottle on my shower and it didn’t remove much mould at all. Do not recommend it at all. Show details
Terrible spray nozzle – Brought this product to spray on mould that appeared on painted walls and ceiling due to leaking. The spray nozzle only has one setting, other spray nozzles can have a spray and stream setting. The spray on this device is an irregular steam that sprays in a small area and then drips everywhere. Useless for this type of application. Show details
Rubbish – Lots of spraying not much removal of mould stick to exit module bought this after all the marketing hype regret it now it’s no better than other cleaners out there Show details
Not perfect, but it works for me – I have been using Mould Power for a long tome, and it works for me. It is not perfect, and mould could come back after time. But if you use it according to the instructions, you can get rid of mould in the short to medium term. I use it in conjunction with Lencia. It is particularly effective on soft fabrics where bleach will cause discolouring.… Read more
Bleach only fades mould, it does not kill it. I live in humid Sydney, and frequently find mould grwing somewhere in a dark place. Reason I came here today is to find more OzKleen Mould Power, as I have run out, and it is not always easy to find.
Best Non Bleach Anti Mould Product – This stuff does actually work. I see the other reviews say they just sprayed it on and waited....you do need to scrub a bit however it does remove the mould and inhibits its return. I have used it on my white sheer curtains where black spots of mould had grown. I have not been able to remove even with bleach...until I used Mould Power.I also use… Read more
it on my sandstone planter boxes. Try using bleach and you will feel sick and wreck your clothes. Mould on shoes and handbags can also be removed with this stuff but you do need to rub over! I love this product and usually have at least 3 in my cupboard. Alas Coles or Woolies no longer carry it.
waste of time and money! – I tried spraying it on my mouldy shower mat.It made no difference at all.The people who says it works must have a vested interest in the company.I tried it twice....not working.,Would have the same result if i used water ...BUT it would cost nothing.I would love to hear back from those who gave it a 5 star rating. Are you sure you didn't mix it with something that works?
It made no difference to the mould – I was given this product, plus others, after I complained about their carpet cleaner not working. So I spayed my back scrubbing brush handle, that was mouldy. Made no difference. Left it soaking in it, no difference. I think all their products are a sham!
For me it has one big problem- getting good coverage – As long as it has a nozzle that fires a stream rather than a spray I’ll not use it again regardless if it’s efficacy. Just too hard to get good coverage.
