Fantastic rates and service – Had the electricity connected over 12 months ago in a simple and easy transfer that was handled professionally. Their customer service is local and have found them pleasant and easy to deal with. Always get the bill by email and the direct debit in place is always on time. Cannot fault this company - I wish more would take a leaf out of their book!

Unbelievably great! – I did the change in September last year [2017], and it's been such a saving for me. Staff are great. Support has been great. Their prices have been great. I am so happy that I did the change. I've saved hundreds of $$$'s, and being only on a pension, they've made my life less stressful. Thank you so much Pacific Hydro [Tango Energy now].… Read more

Thoroughly recommended to everyone having problems with their current power supplier.

BTW, did I mention they were great? LoL.....

Very happy with Tango Energy (formerly Pacific Hydro) – I switched to PH (now Tango Energy) about six months ago. Outstanding customer service and competitive prices. Bills are easy to understand. I can highly recommend this energy provider. Cathy Matthews

Unbeatable pricing and great service – We were going to re-connect our new home electricity with Click Energy when I read about Pacific Hydro's low prices. We have been with them for almost a year now and it has been smooth thus far. I'm actually shocked at my bill.. how LOW the price is compared to the competition. I love it when I get cold calls to move my electricity by other… Read more

retailers and they tell me of the "great discounts" if we move to them but when I tell them of the prices I get with Pacific Hydro, they are shocked and thank me for my time.

Billing is done monthly and we have not been happier with the low electricity price we pay each month. I can't comment on the customer service except during the sign up and that was great. I reckon they are still a comparatively new retailer so don't have an online portal for sign up since I had to print out a form, fill it up and scan the form before emailing it back to them. It may have improved now but that is the only tiny fault I think off.

I didn't think it was possible - Great Service and Great Prices – After having a disastrous experience with AGL's "Customer Service", then moving to Click Energy whose prices were shocking and then onto Energy Australia with lower prices that crept up very quickly, I was dreading the move to another supplier who would be more or less the same, but I was pleasantly surprised with Pacific Hydro - they have the… Read more

best prices and you get to speak with an Aussie who knows the products and services the company offers. There are no "on time" payment discounts or "special deals" ... you just get a great rate that makes paying the bill a bit less painful. There was a bit of paperwork to begin with but the switch-over was seamless and the electricity supply has been flawless except for one stormy night when we lost power, but the whole street had a power outage then. I am a very happy customer and hope to continue to be for as long as possible. I just wish they provide gas supply also...

Simply the best price – I have been with Pacific Hydro for more than 6 months now. The sign-up process was easy, and the rate has always been so low. Amazing company!

Saved so much money – Pacific Hydro is fantastic. They are easy to get hold of on phone or email, offer a locked in energy rate, and also offer quarterly or monthly bills. There's none of this "buy now to save, otherwise we'll jack the price up". It's just cheap power with a host of ways to pay that will make your life easier, including direct debit. Cannot recommend this company enough. Oh, and it's also renewable! Total bonus.

Great Price & Customer service! – Been with Pacific Hydro for nearly a year now (I was with Dodo and got sucked into their discounts), I wished I joined up earlier so I could've saved myself lots of money. They have an easy to understand bill with the best rates around (without any discounts needed). It didn't take long to get my electricity set up and I haven't had any drop outs. I highly recommend them!

Great Customer Service – Just signed up with Pacific Hydro, based on reviews on this page and I agree totally with previous comments. The process was so easy, I couldn't believe it when the customer service rep said that was all. There was a small glitch with my sign up and I was rung back immediately. So friendly and helpful and the rates are astounding compared to my previous supplier who used discounts to bamboozle you. So far so good.

Stop getting screwed by the others! – I love that they dont try and suck you in with discounts - they've just got the best rates. I've just swapped from Red Energy to Pacific Hydro after getting the increase price of my electricity in the mail. I calculated Pacific were 35% cheaper on cents per KW and 11% cheaper on their service to property charge even after factoring Red's so called… Read more

discounts. Everyone should take a look at these guys because judging by the other reviews on this site -if you're not with them you're getting ripped off! Great to see a company that isn't colluding with all the rest to rob us -thanks guys, well done! And their customer service so far has been great -Francesco replied to all my queries in a matter of minutes/hours not days and made the swapping process easy.

Very happy camper – I've only just come on board with Pacific Hydro with the supply of electricity but just from the interaction with their customer service and rates, I am extremely satisfied. The change over was relatively smooth although it was delayed somewhat due to the public holidays and compulsory cooling off period. They must have the cheapest rates that are… Read more

available! The only reason I haven't given them 5 stars is, like I said, just begun my journey with them so we'll see how they go in the long term. So far so good.

Cheap pricing and Australian Call Centres – Called yesterday and spoke to Anthony and given great electricity rates, received welcome pack within minutes and a confirmation email once I completed the sign up process. No pushy sales people just great service. I have been trying to sign up with another company for 4 weeks and achieved more in ten minutes with Pacific Hydro.

Great rates and customer service – Just swapped over to Pacific Hydro electricity. Their rates are the cheapest around as of December '17. About 18 cents per kWh. (SPAusnet) Their most expensive rate is still cheaper than the cheapest rate of the other company I was formerly using. This is going to save me hundreds each year! I had to sign up by calling them, and via email,… Read more

which isn't quite as simple as signing up online which you can do with other electricity retailers. But, i think the cheap rates are well worth the extra steps required to sign up.

I had a few questions about the bills and found their email replies to be very prompt, (within 10 minutes) detailed, and courteous. I give them 10/10 for customer service, and price!

Old school customer service is back with Pacific Hydro – Old School customer service and someone who knows the industry back to front and a great communicator is my experience. I had issues with solar and he gave me everything. Unreal in this day & age.

Amazing price! – Changed to PH 4 months ago and have almost halved my bills (was with AGL). I'm paying 85c daily charge, Peak: 16.50c/kWh Controlled: 9.90c/kWh (before gst) can not be beaten even with other company (scam) % discounts. My bills are about $60-70 a month now down from $120+ for a 3 bedroom, 1 person house. Couldn't be happier.

So good – Just switched to Pacific Hydro. Seamless and fast sign up. Clarity on good rates. Pleasant call centre staff. So much better than previous retailer who billed me incorrectly for almost 2 years. Always check your NMI and Actual Meter numbers are actually correct.

Pacific Hydro – I rang this company and yes ,they do supply Shepparton area. The staff member was helpful and answered all questions. She did say signing a contract means your charges are locked in for the term of the contract and won't incur rate hikes. I am still comparing usage and supply rates before signing up

Just Do It... And Switch to Pacific Hydro – I switched my electricity to Pacific Hydro 3 months ago. The set up and customer service were great and the billing (via email) is easy to understand. The key component is the simple pricing structure that is 20% cheaper (including competitor pay on time discounts) than the nearest rival. As I said, just do it...

Best power company in Melbourne – Very easy to work with, cheap prices and an easy pricing structure. Pacific Hydro is a no frills electricity company that simply provides energy without all the advertising and cost. What else do you want?

Appauling customer service – called three days in a row to sign up with pacific hydro. each time told all sales team was on the phone and i would get a call back within the hour. left my details. no call back that day. call again next day. told the exact same thing as though it was scripted. didnt want to deal with this terrible service for the period of a power contract so went with a different company. may be the cheapest, if you can actually sign up!

Simple clear energy rates and fantastic service – Contacted Pacific Hydro via phone and email on a few occasions over past week and always questions were answered clearly and without sales pitch. Transfer process was by phone and email to sign documents. It was handled promptly and saving on energy bills as a result of cheaper rates. No discount but none needed when rates are lower than others inflated prices before discount. Not the biggest but customer service and pricing is fantastic.

The cheapest electricity company for Citipower in Melbourne, simplest pricing scheme, no horrible di – Pacific Hydro, Energy that could, is indeed the cheapest electricity retailer in Melbourne for Citipower (i.e. CBD and inner suburbs), especially for those living in large apartment complexes as you get much cheaper rates (Citipower offers, but most retailers do NOT pass on!!!). It needs to be understood that for other distributors in Victoria,… Read more ·  1

Pacific Hydro may not be the cheapest, but they are one of the cheapest. And their office is based in Melbourne CBD, you can speak with Australian customer services!!! However, as with all companies, there are drawbacks as well; the advantages and disadvantages are listed below:

The major advantages for Pacific Hydro are:

1. no late fees, no penalties...

2. fixed price for the duration of the contract (confirmed multiple times with them as well as on the contract itself)

3. no complicated or troubling discounts, there is only one price (for 2 plans of your area), and that is what you pay. Much easier for comparison and you are not locked in with a direct debit

4. no credit card surchage for Visa and MasterCard

5. Australian (Melbourne) based headoffice and customer service team

6. a relatively large business

And the disanvantages are:

1. Chinese (Government) owned (fully Australian operated though), so if this is a concern, then, clearly not Pacific Hydro

2. Very small retail business, only in South Australia and Victoria

3. No gas, no solar, no other feed-ins, so those with solar panels, not Pacific Hydro!

4. for the time being, their electricity as well as all other companies are from the national electricity market, however, unlike some competitors who mark themselves as renewable, Pacific Hydro does not currently offer any green energy options, or carbon offset. It is bascically for those who want the cheapest prices.

5. No apps or web portals for log-on, no electricity monitoring programs like PowerShop (but you can use the distributors' ones like myEnergy).

After being with them for a little more than 3 months, I really have to say, I would save at least $300 from my original power company which was one of the cheapest..... Hope this information helps someone who is looking to switch.

Made the switch – A couple of months ago I made the switch to Pacific Hydro after a sneaky price rise and PR debacle with my previous provider prompted me to do a compare and I noticed I could save myself $150 per quarter here. When my first bill arrived (electronic bill, thumbs up) I noticed an error and called up to check on this. I was asked to resubmit the… Read more

respective form (it was sent immidiately by them and returned same day) and I would receive an amended bill.

Two weeks later I still hadn't heard back and the due date was nearing, so I phoned them up. Customer service was very helpful, friendly and curteous, said it would be looked into.

Five minutes later I received a call back and was explained that it would be deducted from the next bill.

Whilst it was not a 'perfect' experience on the whole (given that the oversight was made in the first place) I was very appreciative of the follow up phone call and the way it had been attended to. That is good customer service, and it matters to me.

The BEST power company in Melbourne – We just moved to a building with a stupid "embedded network" and had to say goodbye to Pacific Hydro after 2.5 years :( Quite the bummer. accidentally turned out power off (misunderstanding when we were moving), they managed to immediately jump on it and did in fact get the power going again well before midnight. Cheapest & simplest pricing - fantastic customer experience – Within one week I've dealt with three different electricity retailers - my incumbent (who has been gradually jacking up their prices while trying to hide it), another larger provider that reneged on their original offer, and now Pacific Hydro). I have settled on Pacific Hydro and am very happy with the deal - their website is not flashy, and… Read more

their quoting / sign-up process is not online and electronic, but I called up and spoke to the same person who I was emailing to discuss their standing offer. He signed me (and another family member) up on the spot, and was completely genuine and friendly - the whole experience was very personal and old fashioned.

It all makes a massive change from the normal interaction with energy companies where you are dealing with computers and websites (and I should know, as I work for a company who builds those websites). Time will tell how their ongoing service plays out - but the signup process was fantastic, and the company has so far been an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Do yourself a favour and switch! – I recently stumbled across Pacific Hydro whilst looking for an energy supply alternative. I'm fed up with the exorbitant cost of living.
