Mitsubishi heavy industry ducted air conditioner decided to go the way of old conditioners, ie it died. Replaced with new panasonic ducted air conditioner which does a good job in cooling the house down. Small problem with vibration was sorted out and all is good now. I think, will monitor. Show reply
Follow-up · Unfortunately the problem has not as yet been rectified. Have had different technicians place some damping mounts while another went right through the system to see if anything could be done. No solution yet, I am sure one will be found. Great fridge – We have had the fridge for 6 months now and so far the fridge has been great. I have a faulty 7.0 kW air conditioner. Our installer assisted us to sent warranty claim to Panasonic. The respond from Panasonic warranty team is hugely disappointing. I cannot believe Panasonic as a big brand from Japan has this kind of Customer Service mentality. This is really a huge embarrassment for them as one of the big company. it is unfortunate I'm stuck with this brand, as I bought my new home and it came with Panasonic air conditioner. I have a plan to change brand in the near future, as this is for me unacceptable service.
To those who were thinking to purchase Panasonic product, perhaps you might want to think 10 times, whether its worth it or not. I did some research, Panasonic product is quite expensive product, hence the expectation they should have a good Customer Service and Warranty Team, yet, the reality is their respond is very slow and they seems did not care with customer product satisfaction.

I purchased a new Panasonic microwave through a retailer late 2024. Immediately, the machine had a loud clacking sound. Obviously the machine has faults even though functionally it still operated. transfer so they had to organise another transmission medium). After some time, they completely discarded the video review which clearly shows the issue - and have been demanding I take the machine to a Service Center (an hour away), leave it there for a review (and I have to go without the machine for an unknown time) and then they'll determine what to do. All of this at my expense and time. They couldn't care less if the video (which they asked for) clearly shows the issue. They should simply send a replacement and be done with it. This has now dragged on for 5 months. Now they will not even return my emails. The machine sounds are getting even worse - I'll end up having to take it to their centre. Panasonic - never again for me. They sell their stuff then make it too hard when there is an issue.

Panasonic Air Conditioner - not what's advertised – Stay away from Panasonic and buy a Mitsubishi. I recently purchased an RZ series 3.5 kw split air conditioner for main bedroom to replace a 17 y/o Panasonic that had a noisy fan motor (the new unit is noisier than the old unit). I posted a review on Panasonic's web site and they took it down saying it didn't meet their website guidelines which I can only assume was because it was negative. Interesting they have only one 5 star review from "anonymous".

issue and will need to be repaired' (i couldn't believe it as it was never in working condition). Waited a few weeks and then a technician came out. He could not fix it and couldn't diagnose the issue. So, he left and still not working. Then another technician was going to come back at which time I spoke to the installers and said that I didn't want a repair and wanted a new unit. The installer said that Panasonic would not give them a new unit to install. I then called consumer affairs and they said that the installing company were sold defective products and they did not have to accept a repair but could request a new unit. I called the installer to let them know this (i dont believe that a large company would not know this but I wont name them at this point in time). Then I was told there were no units available and I needed to wait a few more weeks but it should be in before Dec 21st when the installers go on holidays. After further battles it was replaced on Dec 21st. The units worked ok on cool but then winter hit. The largest unit's flaps wouldn't move when on heat. Two more visits from technicians and they said the flap motor was faulty and they would need to get a replacement one and again this took three weeks. Technician came back to replace the part and it was bent and didnt work! So he left again with the unit not working properly. Two days later I got a call (yesterday) to say the part is on back order so I would need to wait another three weeks. Currently it is start of July 2024 and these units were installed late 2023 and yet nothing but issues! Also, the installer suggested that, the fact that this part is on backorder suggests that lots of units have this issue, perhaps a faulty batch. I was originally planning to install a different brand but the installer said they had never had issues with the Panasonic units and suggested I purchase them instead. I wish I had have gone with my original decision. On a side note when you turn the unit off you assume it would turn off but the flaps often stay open and continues purifying the air which is a waste of electricity when I am not home.

manufacturing issue that I would have to pay. I then asked them to explain how I could have caused this to happen and how a part that I can't change without voiding warranty could not be a manufacturing issue. They again stated that this is the job of the service centre to decide and could not give me any reasons for this being my fault. They refuse even to get a courier to pick up the microwave for it to be fixed and I will be the one to cover this cost. I find this completely shady and have no faith that they won't find some reason that I've caused the issue and then ransom my microwave back to me including my lost time off work. My previous microwave, which is an older generation of the same Genius microwave, lasted 8 years before the light failed and still works except for the light. I expected far better quality from a newer product and could not be more disappointed with the product and also with the support offered.
Update - Discussed with 'Panasonic' - They admitted the 'script' given to the initial support agent was wrong and that the light no longer working was indeed a manufacturing fault. They were 'willing' to organise the part to be with the repairer and organise for the repair to happen in the same day. I would still have to bring the product to them, an hour away, so basically a lost day of work for which it is not worth it. They used wording within the warranty to state it was a carry in item. Upon this I then mentioned that I can no longer see within the microwave due to the darkened glass and therefore this is a safety issue (ie steam, spilled hot liquids etc leading to burns upon opening) and using the wording of their warranty against them advised this would be more of a major fault. Seemingly they did not care regarding the safety and claimed that the ACCC agreed with them on it being a walk in item. Not that I am privy to what they actually mentioned to ACCC regarding the product OR safety issue at hand, I doubt that all facts were mentioned. The 'Manager' did try to call to discuss (1 try) but then emailed advised this was only to tell me that ACCC sided with them and they were doing nothing else. I advised that you wouldn't call to discuss something so simple and that if they actually wanted to discuss something to feel free to call me again otherwise do not bother. They have not bothered to try again (surprise).
In the end - Poor product quality, Poor warranty/support (initial contact is offshore from what I can tell) and a company that does not care. Good thing the only product from them in my home was the microwave and will not be purchasing another product of theirs again.

Panasonic by email & phone.only to have emails ignored and the call centre I kept getting different people who could give me no further information .. only one girl said she would escalate my grievance, then informed me that the part had been ordered. Eventually after me chasing, phoning consistently I was informed that a technician would come and replace the mother board the next day which was a Friday..... STILL nothing so I call again ... eventually a technician comes and replaces the offending motherboard ,the following Monday which in my opinion seems like it is a common problem. So nearly 3 weeks later, couple of hundred dollars of spoilt food, $$$$ to purchase temporary fridge, so at least I can feed the family, countless hours of phone calls & emails on my part as they never contacted me, it was a 20minute job. Panasonic are as bad as their authorised repairer – I would definitely not recommend Panasonic as something could go wrong and you’re at the mercy of their “authorised repairer” who are far worse. didn’t happen each time but sometimes. I contacted the ACMA and their response was as follows:
“From your description it sounds like the DAB radio is clearing it's digital buffer (which causes the silence) then after a few seconds once the buffer is full, the unit will start playing audio again. This is done so that if you lose signal for a few seconds then the radio has a small buffer (usually 1-2 seconds) so that it has time to perform error correction. The buffer is usually cleared when turning the unit on/off and when changing channels.”
But Panasonic refused to confirm if this was happening and then referred me to their authorised repairer “Video factory” who have just as bad or worse reviews than Panasonic and the latter completely ignored my emails asking to confirm if this was the issue.
Panasonic also refused to let me speak to one of their technicians. They don’t even know about their own product!
