Panasonic aircon and customer service – I purchased this unit late 2012 and was installed early 2013. It did not work the installer had many attempts. Finally he told me to contact panasonic for replacement. I contacted panasonic they told me they will get there agent to have a look. For the next 4 year's the agent tried to fix this with no success. He told me this unit was a dog.… Read more
Finally he told me in april 2018 that this unit has been repaired to many times and panasonic told him it is 5 years old and not covered by warranty and he will waste both our time by trying to repair at cost and it will not work.
Why has it taken me so long to action. The simple explaination is. This unit at the beachhouse which is seldom used. The unit is not used for cooling just heatig for an hour or so until the wood heater heats the house. The panasonic agent has been wonderful and I did not call him because we both knew that at best it will work for 1 to 2 days. I contacted panasonic and told them that I am happy to get another reliable unit at a discounted price because this unit has never worked and panasonic did not want to replace this but continued to repair this at $1000+ additional cost. The cost of this unit without installation cost was only around $2000. So panasonic logic absolutely baffles me.
Panasonic answer to me the manufacture date is over 5 years so not under warranty. The obvious question I have is will you buy panasonic aircon.
My answer is simple no get a dog . A dog has much better people skills then panasonic and you will also have a reliable friend for 15 to 17 years
Installed Jan. Broke mid April, Late may and still not fixed – This unit was installed in January. Worked as and air conditioner, no better no worse than any other. Warranty support is however non existent. In mid April the Timer light on the unit started flashing, indicating a fault. Multiple calls to the company that installed the unit. Their tech came out within a few days and had a look at the unit and… Read more
diagnosed the fault. They then attempted to to get parts from Panansonic Australia. 5 weeks later still no air conditioning.
Too good – Just had the unit installed. It's melbourne so Friday we were cooling the room. Gee it's quite. On Saturday in cold and raining so now it's heating. It's doing a good job. Panasonic make a great product. We replaced our old Panasonic AirCon reverse cycle and it lasted 30 years. Anyway the only issue I have is with the manual. It doesn't explain the lights on the front panel.
A Big No No – I installed a Panasonic CU-E9MKR reverse cycle split air conditioner 3 months ago taking the advice of my installer. It has now broken down. Mind you, I only used it once a week when my grandson spent a night with us. That is, it breaks down after 12 uses. That speaks volume of its quality. I have to wait for the dealer to come and sort it out It has broken down
Great, so quiet – Purchased two of the smallest units for my kids' bedrooms. CS/CU E9MKR. Reverse cycle. So far only used for air conditioning, but very impressed. Although the units are directly outside of the bedroom walls (quite near their beds), we can't hear them running at all. They are an extremely quiet unit. We have used the econavi function… Read more
which, from my understanding, only comes on with movement in the room and it also detects the number of people in the room. Consequently it is not continually blowing cooler air when nobody is there but kind of gives it a rev up when someone comes in. I can see where energy savings would be made using this function.
Also has a "powerful/quiet" function which is good if you come home and it is hot to give it a blast and the quiet function is, obviously, quiet. The unit cooled the room very quickly anyway with just the econavi function on.
Will need to see the impact on the power bills, but given that they don't seem to come on as often as standard air cons (which we have in another room - an older type), I'm hoping it won't be too bad.
All in all, so far really impressed. Will wait to see for heating and bills.
Paid $650 standard fee for installation of each unit through Good Guys who, incidentally, were great at following up the installation process. It was easy to buy and have installation organised through the store, rather than having to find an installer myself. They also gave me a price of $800 per unit when the ticket price was around $920. Quiet, econavi feature
Is this thing powerful... and efficient! – I have had this model for about 6 months now. It's proven to be very efficient and VERY effective. It has been fantastic over the winter at warming my apartment and my power consumption has actually dropped! It has some great features too that help to increase its efficiency and reduce power costs. Efficiency and effectiveness Show 2 replies
