Scammers!!!! – Never heard of this company until my bank notified me of unusual activity on my account and I noticed they took money out. Have no clue how they got my details. The bank said they could have hacked into a website I used as far back as a year ago and only now tried to steal. I noticed they have a website. This is obviously a scam so please don't fall for anything to do with them!!! Show details
Star rating should include a minus option. Scammers! – I had never heard of them until they took money from my bank account. Luckily my bank saw it as a suspicious transaction and contacted me. Card is now canceled. So grateful our banks have the technology to pick up on this. So angry that there are disgusting people who try to take what is not theirs!!! Show details

Good Company Helped in Saving Money – I was with Origin last year and cost almost 100pp per month in the winter. They didn't provide any saving plan until I notice them I would go with People Energy. Well, let's talk about cost. I saved 50 bucks last money. It was $141 and people energy gave me $50 discount. That's amazing. I don't need to worry about air conditioning consumption in the frozen days.

They are a scam and I sued them for what they did – They phone up my son who was at school at the time and signed him up. The woman over the phone my son could not understand her. She was half the time speaking another langue and thought he was talking to someone else. They took my power account and would not hand it back. Sunny Day' would not have back my account. After holding onto my account for 2 weeks they cut off my power over the weekend and stated they did nothing wrong. I lost food, medication, hot water and by Monday I had no phone to the house because I had nowhere to charge it. Then turned the power on in their name again the Monday afternoon. This happens in 2019 are they are still going. I am trying to sue them but we see who that goes they like to hide behind the law. If I was you send a complaint to the Government and hopeful we can get the rotten company shut down. They have no right to take our right away like that all they want is your money.
Disgusted – This company is disgusting, I gave them 1 star because there is no zero or minus. They lie & cheat their way through their offers, the staff is rude & extremely difficult to understand their accent. Their call centre is obviously off-shore as they never answer the phone & only call back 1-3 days later way outside normal business hours. Be warned this company is the worst & a rip off. their system was down for 2 days they could not action request so i had to wait from the Friday to the Monday to have it turned off and then they are probably charging me for the new people using it all Friday , Saturday and Sunday. Tried to call them again but they won't change the bill name so looks like they'll be chasing a dead person for the amount due

things that threw me off: (1) was that I asked for their company website and the bloke gave me an Australian government website referring to the VDO (Vic Default Offer); and (2) as soon as we were going through the verification process, the rates that were mentioned to me were much higher than the rates I was currently on with Lumo Energy. Lastly, they did not reveal that they were an energy company until literally halfway through the verification process. After the call, I started seeing these reviews and realised how dog these guys are. Do not under any circumstances fall into the trap set by the Sales team. These guys are rats in the sewers.

Theft from my Bank Account. No permission to withdraw several amounts. Refused to repay – People energy seem to be liars who take money from accounts without authorisation and refuse to pay it back. I do not even have an account with them. Scammer – As others have stated, asked me all the business regarding my energy accounts, had most of the details on file anyways, refused to give them licence/medicare etc because I'm no fool. I feel cheated – I feel cheated and coerced by people energy. The customer care agents are so pushy and influenced me to change to peoples energy saying that I will get 40 something discount if I pay on time. Cheaters! – Pretended as someone calling from government agency and offered 46% discount on our existing utility bills. Don’t stop calling – I received a call from a persuasive telemarketer, 45% discount, then passed me into her supervisor, which I was asked for a licence or Medicare card number. I didn’t pass details, they did have personal details already. Beware! I will contact my Energy provider first thing tomorrow morning.

Worried after their call – It was a cold call. Usually my mobile detects suspected spam but in this case it didn't show up and i took the call. This I regretted. The supervisor was pushy and demanded. I hung up after saying multiple times that I am not ok and don't understand what they're offering. He followed up with more calls and texts so I reported the number as spam.
Dodgy but also probably illegal practice – They keep calling. And when you ask to unsubscribe, they put the phone down. And ring again later as thought it is their right to call you. This has been going on for at least 12 months. Always the same 45% or so discount.

Stay away from this mob!!! – Did not disclose that they were a different energy provider but made out they were my current provider by saying their company name - and were offering me an extra discount. Eg we are ringing you because you are with Origin Energy .... Harrass you with constant phone calls.

government. Apparently he knows my name and home address so I sort of believed him in the first place. He gave me his name and a reference number, asked me to write it down saying he will activate the offer for me.
I started to feel suspicious when he continued to ask my NMI number which I do not have as I am an embedded network customer. I told him I do not have NMI but he doesn’t believe it and ask me to check my energy bill. I read out the meter number (which is not the NMI) and he got confused, said to me “I will check and confirm with you” and quickly hung up.
I ring back again pretending I got a miss call and asked who they are from. A lady said they are from “bargain offer people energy”. I hope nothing is happening to my energy account but I also contacted my current energy provider to make sure they are aware of this.
Also get ridiculous cold calls – Another call from another energy company. Such a waste of time!! Tried so many time to get off their lists, but still they call. Would not touch this company, and all others like them.

got really suspicious and told him that I would speak to my energy provider and sort this out later. He yelled at me and then said that he can call me back when I am free. I told him either he gives me the discount or not, I don't care but he is not getting any details from me. He then hung up.
