One of the Best gone Bad – I've been with this company for 15 years, on swapping to NBN have not had a continuous service the last three weeks it has been basically no service to intermittent. it's a internal wiring problem, previous issues have always been out in the street or fix by resetting modem remotely. Latest cliam was it was due to having a secound phone bridge extension even though there are no home phone and it never being a problem in the passed twenty years when we did run to home phones, they disconnected this and here weare a few days latter with nil service or intermittent service again. I have stay with this company because of the level of service provided previously regrettable that service is below standard since since the company was sold and they closed the Australia support centre the last one being in Tasmania. In true this may not be entirely their fault I believe the NBN is a big White Elephant for those unlucky enough like us that never got the optical wire run to there house, we still have copper for some eight hundred meters from the terminal in the street. Having previously encouraged people to use People Telecom I could no longer do so. I'm currently use a Telstra Wifi Dongle to access the net, it's been faultless!! An would appear to be the way to go. Last change People Telecom fix the issue you say goodbye to a long term customer.

Terrible is still 2 Good for them – The last review of 5 Stars must have been an employee of the company!! I didn't port across to people telecom but somehow, they have 1 out of 3 of my Phone Lines! I had an issue last year where i left my current provider & moved across to M2 Commander OH BOY! Off TIO i went & won the case too BUT these idiots have pulled my lines back AGAIN without my permission! how is this POSSIBLE??  Show details

After stumbling upon this forum it is hard to believe there are so many unhappy customers after our long term experience with this company. Great Service, good price, friendly local staff

Extremely Happy – My experience with people telecom has been perfect i can not fault the service at all, my current contract is about to expire and i am in the midst of shopping around for another provider to see what is on offer, after reading alot of feedback from other providers maybe i should stay with people telecom, as they say better the devil you know than don't know Reliable, fast sevice, and able to speak with a human when you need to

Good – Overall I'm happy with People Telecom. downloads for good price, no fuss, electronic automatic billing/payment, reliable service, would let me deal with our account despite it being in my husband's name If you do have a problem it is tricky dealing with customer service, very basic website

Illegal scammers! – This company should be closed down! I am another person whose internet codes were stolen from my provider Telstra without my having ever spoken to them or heard of them before!! It took Telstra 5 days to fix my internet because they had to ask People Telecom to release my codes - even though they had stolen them in the first place! Idiots – Have NEVER had an account with NBT yet I apparently owe them OVER $1,300!!! Have tried and tried to resolve this issue. I was last told that - "THEY had decided not to pursue the monies owed." Like they were doing me a favour!! They had even threatened to cut off my service!!! Yet they ARE NOT and NEVER have been my provider!! So, once again I will try. They are IDIOTS! and They are RUDE IDIOTS!!

Illegal company, – They moved my Telstra Internet, claimed it was a mistake by a consultant called Courtney Neilson, spoke to a supposed manager called Jahnni, they are liars, fraudulent activity, do not deal with them ever. I am reporting them to the ombudsman, you should all do the same.

Disaster !!! – They cut my Telstra internet and didn't set up new connections, I can't contact them . When they contact me first time I've been told before disconnecting existing account ill be contacted and new modem will be posted to me ....nothing like that happens . Worst customer service ever experienced.

no Internet. TPG has told me it was this company that stopped my account. It will take about 5 days to restore.

July 18th, 2016 Update: No longer trading

I've just submitted a critique on the People Telecom business. Now I see they are "no longer trading". When they first phoned me several months ago, they called themselves TELCO but spoke so fast I couldn't hear them properly. It was their desperation to get a sale that put me off. I told them I wasn't interested because they couldn't offer me anything better than I already had. They went ahead and cancelled my account with my long-time provider, TPG. I just hope they haven't emptied my bank account, but I certainly didn't give them those details.

Stay Away – This shift mob, moved me from TELSTRA WITHOUT my permission, the phone call I received from them, about a month ago, gave the impression that they were from TELSTRA, they had full details of my TELSTRA A/c, and said they were moving me to a cheaper bundle.

Disgraceful – My internet & home phone moved from Telstra by this company. I have not received ANY communication either by phone or email to advise this. Can't get through to their support numbers either. Run my business from home and has been a nightmare the last 3 days without technology. Stay away from this company.

Don't fall for this company- please! – Have just had my bigpond email cut off (after having had it for 10 plus years) without my knowledge. yes I thought they were telstra and getting my NBN connected, Also home phone and mobiles changed. A pity we can't give "minus" stars - worse than terrible – This is the WORST EVER telecom company! ring up with complaints. We received a disconnection notice for an unpaid account (on the day the service was due to be disconnected!!), despite having updated our direct debit info with them 6 weeks before it was due. The operator would not listen to the fact that we even had a reference number for that update. They STILL tried to charge us a dishonour fee!!!

They are dodgy brothers extraordinaire, and we can find nothing at all to recommend them - steer clear would be our advice. Telecom Ombudsman should shut them down!!

Scam And Illegal – Watch this company!! When I requested a voice recording of me agreeing for them to be my phone provider, as I never said yes as my phone cut off so I could not finish the conversation with them When I listened to the recording they sent me, they have gone and added someone else's voice to the end of the recording agreeing to have them as my phone provider. What they did is illegal. What a scam.

way to prevent that was to switch to their $89.99 +costs plan. The biggest thing is that the NBN is not going to be even started to be worked on until late next year. Overall it's a joke that you can ignore and just hang up as soon as you hear their name.

NBT do not use – Do not use NextBusinessTelecom. They cold-called me, claimed to be able to give me ADSL (they cannot), illegally churned me from Telstra, sent me a bill, dated to before they'd even contacted me, the bill was for services NOT provided (and was for $248!). No reply to emails cancelling the service and when I rang, the sales person tried to intimidate and bully me. My next stop is the ombudsman.  Show details

Hold you to ransom with no internet connection – Pretend to be Telstra. nothing happens for a few weeks, then a package arrives in the mail, well past the cooling off period and you are then changed over to them. No contract!!!! Internet down for two weeks, number of calls to them all apologies but no action. In total no internet for over 3 weeks, but the bills still keep coming.

Terrible, dishonest theives targeting the elderly – Do not go near this mob. Danger. they stole my mother's custom from Telstra without her consent, botched up the transfer, left the phone not working and has costs me days of time to sort out. as the phone line is required for the medical alert system they have put my mother's life at risk. her only connection to the outside world is cut off.

Tried to change us over to nbt – We have just received a letter from not Next Business Telecom saying " Thank you for Choosing Us" for a 24 month contract. happened in September when a contractor that works through Telstra changed my plan with Telstra to a $240 a month Bundle Plan. I can hardly believe that these sort of things can happen. I think that I need to ring the Telecommunication Ombusman.

Thieves- Stay clear away – Without any authorization this company, who I never heard of, stole our 2 phone numbers from a provider we were happy with. How are they allowed to operate? Will be contacting the communication ombudsman. I have yet to receive a bill- that should be interesting and only found out by chance that they had acquired our account. Terrible company, useless at resolving problems and unknowingly leaving you a poor credit rating – Avoid this company at all costs. these requests and 6 months latter we find that they provided us with a bad credit rating to bank. They never spoke to us about this and when we paid our final lump sum they told us that we had nothing owing. You may havre a few months when they choose not to bill you Overpriced, unorganised, incorrectly leave you with a bad credit rating
