Love pepper money so quick n easy no paperwork n no stress thanks pepper money interest rate is tad higher than expected but over all very happy would highly recommend pepper to family and friends

DISAPPOINTED, FRUSTRATED, ANNOYED

I'm super annoyed with this company. My husband got a loan with Pepper last Feb to purchase our car. He pays $150 a week, every week, direct debit so no payments missed. Fast forward about a yr and a half...he calls Pepper to see how much he's paid off cause he's excited to see how long he has left. Person on the phone says he's well ahead and has paid about $11k...but there's interest. Fair enough. He didn't say anything else, just that he'll send his statement through email.

After going through my husband's statement, i now know why he didn't wanna say much else. Literally half of that money has been paid towards interest. I did the calculations. $5484 paid off on the car and $5374 paid towards interest. If that's not bloody dodgy, idk what is. By the rate we're going, it's going to take my husband about another 5yrs to pay off this loan and by then he will have paid DOUBLE the amount he borrowed from Pepper...$60grand!!!! Probably an exaggeration...probably not. Every month they charge an "Account Keeping Fee" plus EXTRA interest...ON TOP of the interest they already charge from the direct debited amount.

I should've just stayed with Esanda. I paid farrrr less interest with Esanda and their admin fee was only $2.30 fortnightly. Do your research guys and don't get a loan from these loan sharks. We made the mistake of just going along with whatever my car dealer suggested instead of taking into consideration other options

Also, our borrowed amount was $30k yet on the statement it says $31449?? Bizzare. These guys are dodgy, avoid at ALL costs

0/5 stars, worst customer service I've ever experienced. Avoid!!!

Pros:
- The customer service staff have a pleasant phone manner.
- It was relatively easy to apply for the loan via the car dealership that I went through - however I wasn't given much choice in the way of adapting the loan to my needs.

Cons:
- Their 'self service portal' is not a portal... it's a page with your loan figure written on it, and you still have to contact them by email or phone to do anything. Beats the point of calling it a portal.
- Awful awful awful customer service. You call and ask them to send you basic details about your loan, they say you'll receive an email within the hour but you won't. It took me at least 15-20 phone calls to get them to email me my final summary letter, or to even confirm that they'd received the large sum that I transferred to pay out my car loan. Having ~$10k floating in the air for a fortnight, unconfirmed, without so much as an auto-reply email saying 'thank you for sending through your remittance advice' is unacceptable.
- The $600 exit fee wasn't great (and far higher than what I was told by the car dealership who arranged the loan for me), and the rate wasn't exceptional either.
- Even when you ask to speak to a manager or they say that your request will be escalated to 'urgent'... the action just doesn't seem to be there. I don't know whether their emailing system sucks, whether customer service staff just don't communicate with each other or whatever else... but dang, it's frustrating.

Never in my life have I been so frustrated with a company, it was like pulling teeth just to get them to give me access to my own loan details and confirm that it was paid. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Great customer service. Got a really good rate and the car I wanted! From start to finish was kept in the loop and have no complaints at all. Highly recommended.

Wow, wow, wow!!

Pepper Money exceeded our expectations with our personal loan.
While our own bank were not able to help after 20yrs of loyalty. Pepper were understanding and made the whole process extremely straightforward, any questions about the loan we had were answered immediately.
Our interest rate is competitive. with all other alternative lenders out there that help customers that dont fit the "Big 4" criteria!!!

Don’t use this finance company

Pepper money is the Worst financial company in Australia, don’t even think about it to get your loan here. There is a lot of good non bank company out there. not recommended or get loan at your own risk. Reported to ASIC

Make their own rules and no communication

Pepper is the worst financial company I have dealt with as they send no communication at all and try to repossess with no reason and loan up to date. Yes I have reported to ASIC as misconduct

Easy to apply!

I can't thank the happy staff at Pepper Money enough for making my car loan process so easy & fast! They were super friendly. The dreaded paperwork wasn't so bad either.

Rubbish

radio always spammed with this company so i decided to get a loan but they are way to picky i have a job good income no debt instantly rejected nice pepper money what a joke, there's other companies out there that will want your business

Impressed with the simplicity and service

When our bank wouldn't quite come to the party, we were recommended Pepper and they sure delivered. Even with some minor hiccups along the way, we still had confirmation in under a week and the exact outcome we were hoping for. Great communication and friendly, helpful staff. Lender deserving awards!

Background: I have only recently obtained permanent residency, so I didn't have much credit history.
To top if off, I've also recently changed my legal name and caused further issues that I did not expect.

Knowing full well that I can service a loan, I've applied to multiple lenders that returned instantly with automatic declines due to lack of credit history.

The online application of Pepper was so much easier to complete than others!
Although my application received an instant decline as well, a credit assessor from Pepper followed up via phone call right away.
They've identified that there was an issue with my identity check/credit file and decided to handle my case manually.
Fast forward 2 days later after back and forth documents request, my application was finally approved!

I would definitely recommend Pepper going forward!

Amazingly easy process

Why cant all lenders be as pain free and easy to deal with? Doc submission and application completion were a breath of fresh air. So user friendly. Interaction with live staff was effortless and clear.

Great experience

Its the best experience ive had when borrowing money, it puts my local bank to shame. They reply in person and very friendly. No automated computer responses. Very hapoy and will definetly be recommending to others.

i was so surprised of the great service i received, they answer all my questions and great help,
i did have some problems with the down loading things on the application but i think that was my thought,
im not the best when it comes to computers, but they had patients and help me step by step,

I took out a car loan 2.5 years ago on an interest rate of 14 percent. I rang to check up on how much is left, to be told that I still have the same original amount because my interest rate us at 17.99 percent.
When I asked the girl why, she couldn't tell me.
NOT HAPPY.

Worst finance company dog's

I called them up to pay my car out and i got slammed with 4k of extra costs just revenue hungry. Its like i haven't paid anything of the car yet i would highly recommend staying away from these pathetic fools!! They can send apologies back to people with their review's but don't do anything to fix it.. if could rate them half a star i would. No wonder why people are going so bad because of crap financial institutions like this pathetic one!

Never use pepper

Customer service was terrible. For 6 months I’ve been trying to get pepper to fix a system issue that makes it look like my account is behind a payment and nothing has been done to fix it. I’ve now tried to leave pepper and was told I’d have to pay $700 to get out early. because of this system issue got denied finance elsewhere. Not only was the interest rate higher than I was told it was by the broker I’m now stuck.

A smooth process

While i see many 1 star reviews on here, my experience has been very different. I was offered an interest rate 4.5% cheaper than my current loan and no monthly fee. I found the whole process very each and much better than the big 4 bank i was using
