Best roof restoration company around – Recently had our roof restoration done by Permacoat. From the initial meeting with the sales rep we knew we had chosen the best company. They very honest, reliable keeping us informed all through the process, high standard of workmanship , professional tradesmen.cleaned an old looking tiled roof , pressure cleaned , pointing , replaced cracked… Read more
tiles, Sealed . They cleaned up every step of the way as well. The end job has far exceeded our expectations and it has transformed our home . I would not trust any of the major pushy sales people in other companies that were going to charge us twice as much. We didnt go for the cheapest we went for the most professional honest company that truly delivered . Thankyou so much Permacoat
Very happy all round – Our Colorbond roof is 30 years old and the paint had oxidized badly, turning a pale eucalypt green into silver. Permacoat examined the roof, provided a quote, and turned up to do the work on time. The roof was stripped back, primed and had 2 top coats, leaving the roof looking like new. There was good attention to detail, including cleaning out… Read more
the gutters and cleaning up at the end of the job. Very happy with the result and the professional workmanship.
A pleasure to deal with this company! – We have just had our steep and high Colorbond roof restored after 30 years. It has come up looking as good as new - after replacing all roof bolts, cleaning, priming and painting and fixing a broken gutter. An excellent job and very nice people to deal with.
Negative reviews
Customer Service is woeful – We had our roof quoted for restoration about 2 years ago and we paid a deposit. Red Flag. We should of read the reviews here first as we decided to wait for a while but according to the contract we would lose the deposit if we cancelled so feel as this was extortion because they had us locked in. Our fault I guess. Tracy not very empathetic to… Read more
us at all on this one and told us it was in the contract. Red Flag. Then we were waiting for a while to get it done and finally the guys turned up. Then were told that we needed new gutters. Which was an added cost. Alas went with this option and a fine gentleman came and did this and did it well. So, because of this I would of liked to give this guy more work and recommended him to some work colleagues. But from this point on I have noted that the customer service is non existent. You call the number and Tracy answers sounding like she hears the money coming in but is really not interested in anything else. I asked for the gutter guy, but she won't give me his number, told to send an email instead which I did. Haven't heard boo from anyone since. Even sent an online form but no response. The guys at work tried calling but no reply to their queries. Someone else can be a winner in all this now, they had their chances.
Also If they did a proper quote in the first place instead of looking at Google maps that would of highlighted the gutters issue. I admit, the roof has been restored well to this point, no complaints there. But I hate to think if something did require attention. Just terrible customer service and really not interested in anything else after capturing your first round of cash.
My suggestion is to, go with a small operator who appreciates your business and provides after sales communications unlike this company and AVOID them at all costs.
Terrible communication – Had them come out to do a quote . Over a week later still hadn't received a quote . Rang them , they said we will call you back today or tomorrow. A week later no call or quote . Ring again and leave a message 3 days later no quote or call. Rang again and left a message now 3 days no quote still no call. Very unprofessional to leave a possible… Read more
paying customer waiting so long and not returning calls. You have lost my business based on this alone. You really need to learn how to run a successful company, these reviews show you're failing.
A BIG FAIL ON COMMUNICATION – Booked this job late 2020 stating in no hurry to get it done as long as the work took place before the end of summer. Contacted the company early months of 2021 asking when work would be done and that I needed at least two weeks notice. Was contacted by Tracy saying they could do the job, I declined because it was way outside the two weeks notice… Read more
I had asked. There was some confusion with the painters. I was told they would be at the house by 10am but they showed up and hour and a half earlier. I had to send them away as my tenant cannot be around chemicals and she was not ready to leave. Tradesman themselves were really good and communicative. On completion of the job I contacted the company twice re payment and twice asking for a tax invoice with details of work that was carried out for taxation purposes. After three months I have never heard a work from the company. I used this company as my mother had her roof done and extremely happy with the work. Since the company has been taken over there is no after customer service. I would definitely not recommend.

Thank you Permacoat! Our 25+ year tiled roof looks like new. Colin came and gave us a quote which was very acceptable, his manner and assessment of the roof work needed was clear and concise and he outlined what the procedure would be, we received a quote very quickly and work began in early January of 2026. Norm was very efficient in the way he… Read more
cleaned the roof and applied the necessary material to repairs. Colin was also very efficient in the way he sealed and painted the roof during very trying summer conditions. The work began early in the day which suited us, the men were on time and the result looks fabulous. Neighbours are remarking on how the roof looks new! We also had three new downpipes fitted, the tradesperson who did this work was also very efficient and wasted no time at all before his work was completed on the day. A huge thank you to Megs, who communicated with my husband and I during the entire process. At every turn her responses were super quick, she is very professional and knowledgeable and very happy to assist with any queries with a very reassuring and kind manner. Knowing the business of roofing well with the experience she has she did put any minor concerns we had at ease. It is truly a relief when a business has someone such as Megs who responds to any questions efficiently and effectively. She is an asset to this company by far. Thank you for all your help during the roof restoration process. Overall, an excellent result from beginning to end with everyone we came into contact with and we feel our roof will last for years to come. Wishing you all a great year ahead. R and L McKeen.
permacoat have been very helpful from start to finish, Meg was very helpful, with response to email to quality of work. they where happy to put the roof on hold while i had the water tank replaced. came when they said they would and even organise a new whirly bird. and the price was very reasonable compared to some other quotes cannot recommend them enough. Darren
Excellent work completed! We had the roof cleaned, repaired, sealed and painted. Quote was done on site followed by booking around the constraints of the weather. The work was completed as agreed by both parties. Happy to recommend this company.
Great company to deal with – In June 2023 after the crazy rain that we had and my roof was leaking I contacted several companies for quotes. Permacoat supplied a quickly a very reasonably priced quote to replace gutters/downpipes and a roof restoration. They replaced broken tiles and waited while I replaced the carport roof. Very easy company to deal with, visited my property… Read more
several times to ensure we were both on the same page for the work being completed. I highly recommend Permacoat to sort out your roofing problems.
Great end product – The original quote was given with a thorough check of the roof. The process was set out but we weren't ready for the mess the cleaning process made. However, they were happy to clean up afterwards. The roof looks great now with a very neat paint job done.
Great Job and Nice People – Permacoat have just rejuvenated our roof. We never hesitated in contacting the company as they did it for us 24 years ago. The first job lasted well so we went for them again. Not disappointed again and will happily recommend them to family and friends. On thing which they did very well was communications. On more than one occasion the tradies have failed in this area. They did not. Show details
Best Restoration ever – Dale and his team did a brilliant job on our roof restoration. They even went above and beyond with the clean up. The blokes were very helpful and very mindful of our neighbours. ( I haven't had any complaints from the neighbours, so must have done a good job) The work and care taken with the painting was excellent. It was a bloody hot couple… Read more

Good Company for Roof Restoration – My experience with Permacoat has been just Great! Prior to contacting Permacoat, I had contacted 4 other roof restoration companies. All 4 companies were very unprofessional, 3 sent me quotes via SMS and were way above the price quoted by Permacoat, the 4th company failed to send their quote. During the survey I was informed that they were fully… Read more
booked and the earliest they could do the job was late Feb! I was very pleased with Permacoat’s approach. The initial survey, the detailed quote that was mailed, the communication prior, during and after the job was all spot on. The actual work was very professional and the team that came to do the same were very courteous and completed the job well before the scheduled time. Our restored roof has made our home stand out in the neighbourhood. I will definitely recommend Permacoat to anyone that requires a roof restoration.
Roof looks like new! – I cannot believe the difference and how good the roof looks. A professional company that produces quality workmanship and they were one of the only companies that could commit to the tight timeframes that I needed. I cant recommend Permacoat enough.
Roof restoration – Highly recommend Permacoat team. My roof was thoroughly cleaned, repaired, sealed and repainted, no mess and very happy with the result. Courteous efficient workmen. Long delay to commence work due to very wet weather but not their fault.
Roof restoration – Our roof was restored & it looks amazing! So happy with the quality & care taken with the job and absolutely no overspray or mess left behind. Would highly recommend this business!
AWESOME WORK – I was given information from a builder as to the repairs i required which permacoat sent out a workman to complete. Once arriving at the property and inspecting the worker advised the issue he was sent to attend was not the only issue and without this advice the initial problem would have been ongoing with notice. The worker returned to workshop… Read more
with no notice to get tools required and proceeded to fix the roof to a second to none standard. All communication with ALL from this company was first class and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone that requires any roof repair work.
Undependable – We didnt even get my parents roof seen to. We had sent email requesting quote on a Monday got phone call tuesday with a time and date to quote the roof however, recieved another 4 calls during the week wanting to change the time and date this to me already says they are an unreliable company cant depend on them at all to keep a half hour quote… Read more
time what if we actually chose them to fix the roof how many times would they change the time and date on a longer job and after reading some of the shotty workman reviews why would I pay them alot of money to repair and not having a job done properly or warrenty not being honoured. Definately not a dependable company in my familys eyes
Incredible Job – Hi Tracy I am over the moon with the work carried out on my roof. I was away at the time in Albany and on my return I found my home was left in a very tidy state. Full credit must be given to the workers and the commitment of the Admin staff. I have no problems whatsoever in recommending Permacoat for their professionalism and attention to detail. I found their pricing to be very competitive and realistic. Thanks for a job "well done" Wayne
I take back my last review titled Very Unprofessional – Due to quite a nasty illness of one of the office staff, there was a delay in their procedures. Thankfully, I now have my receipt confirming I have paid in full from Tracie and a profuse apology from her for the delay. That will teach me to be in a rush!!! Jan Garabedian
Amazing service and so happy with the result – Really happy with our roof restoration. We had our tin roof recently sprayed as part of our reno and it looks brand new. I selected Permacoat because they were the cheapest and appeared to be more professional than others who quoted. They finished the job when promised and Tracie in the office was informative on the admin side. Professional outfit, would recommend.

Very happy with works completed – We found Permacoat to be very helpful and informative during the set-up and workings at the strata property. Below are comments put forward by owners:- Unit 5 - I found the guys polite and professional. Even when faced with some of our very difficult owners the guys stayed polite. Very considerate with timing and not inconveniencing anyone. I… Read more
also think they did a fabulous job. A big pat on the back for Dale also. I don’t think they will ever want to see us again Unit 4 - We are very happy with the work done and the result looks great. Unit 6 - They were fantastic and the complex has transformed completely. Unit 8 - Yes it looks good to me. They were very professional. Thanks again Tracie, I will keep in touch with your company for future works.
Great new look for a tired-looking house – Permacoat completed the job swiftly and professionally. Broken roof tiles were replaced, ridge capping was renewed and the roof has been primed and painted. I hope after having read the reviews, that I won't have ay issues with the paint pealing off in a few years. The smell of the primer that was used was overwhelming and I wish that I would… Read more
have been told about it before I returned home. The job was mostly tidy, I only found two broken tiles around the garden and the tap that was used needed a new hose connection, but all in all I am very happy with the job that was done.
Paint peeling off within 5 years and management didn't want to know – Paint peeling off every tile within 5 years, management was contacted but we were told it was our fault. For some unknown reason. Don't do business with this rip off company.
Happy endings – We had water damage to all our ceilings after they pressured hosed it they fixed it all and had all our ceilings painted they where very helpful fixing the problems
New Life to old house – My wife and I would like to thank everyone on a excellent job of restoring our old and tired looking 1960's roof. Thanks to Paul for cleaning and resealing the ridge capping and Gary for spraying the roof. Both tradesman cleaned up after their jobs and were polite and friendly to talk to. Thanks again. Steve and Sharon, Armadale W/A.
Satisfied repeat customer – A good company to deal with. I couldn’t be more satisfied and this is the second time I have used them. Professional and responsive in all our dealings. The roof had it’s challenges – 30 year old house that needed a good roof repair and recoat. Quality job.
Don't use them - a "fly-by-nighter" will do the same bad job for a fraction of the price – We went with Permacoat in 2010 because we were wary of fly-by-nighters. We paid over $7,000. 5 years later, the paint was peeling and they agreed it was a warranty job - for which they quoted $3,600! (As others have said, don't consider it a 20 year warranty - it's really only a 3 year warranty.) It is possible, that with their standard labour… Read more
rates for the warranty job, that they would even be making a profit out of the warranty job (if we were foolish to throw good money after bad).
There ought to be a zero-start option for reviews, because they don't deserve one star.
Large Faded Patches – We also had our roof done in 2008, it now looks terrible large patches of faded paint. Rang permacoat a man came out & checked it. He said the paint had oxidised not sure what that means. We received a quote to have it fixed & it will cost over $2000 to fix. If you read the small print warranty is only covered fully for 3 years
Sub standard paint – We had our roof restored by Permacoat in April 2008. In no time the paint began to discolour and become white and chalky in appearance. In November 2012 we contacted Permacoat who sent a paint representative who agreed that the paint was defective. In March 2013, according to the terms of the contract, Permacoat agreed to re spray the roof and we… Read more
would have to bear the cost of the labour which was over $2000.00 dollars. We were shocked and in no position to pay out this amount to correct a paint job which was defective. The appearance of the roof has deteriorated further. In July 2016 we again contacted Permacoat who repeated they would do the re spray and we would have to bear the cost of the labour, $2,401.08. We have decided this time to get advice as to our position. It is unbelievable that we should have to pay the labour when the product used was faulty.
Dodgy AF – Only giving 1 star because there is no zero star option. I too was given a quote by a friendly sales guy and promised work would commence within weeks. After months of waiting and calling up they finally did the work. Soon enough rain was re entering where the original water marks were. They have been back twice to replace more tiles and have now… Read more
said its a box gutter problem not tiles. This was not mentioned in the quote and they say I have to pay more. So basically i paid 2k to stop water coming in and it's still coming in the exact same places. Staff are rude and uncooperative. AVOID!
Wish we'd read reviews before we went ahead! – We have had a similarly bad experience to many of the other disgruntled Permacoat customers. We had our roof restored and repainted 7 years ago and were given the 20 year warranty spiel. The roof has faded significantly and the most we have got out of Permacoat (after being told the company has changed hands and weren't honouring old customers'… Read more
warranties) is someone coming and taking a tile for testing. We first made contact with Permacoat in November 2015 regarding this matter and despite numerous emails we have not received any response. We were told by an independent inspector that the paint had been diluted and was not the quality product advertised in Permacoat's marketing material. We are now preparing to take this matter further. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has pursued it, or just (as I suspect Permacoat hope) given up.
Great job! Definitely recommend – Thanks Permacoat for the great job you did on our roof. We finished our renovation and are so pleased with the result. Your team were very helpful and responded quickly to our questions as well as completing our roof job within the time frames we needed.
Absolutely Shocking - Worst Job Ever – When we signed up they told us it would be 6 weeks to begin work. 3 months later they finally started and that was after I called several times. The workmen were nice enough but did an absolute shocking job. They finally completed the job 6 weeks later. They left broken tiles all around our property. Their work vehicles left oil stains all over… Read more
our new exposed aggregate driveway and they splattered paint all over our fence. You could even see the red tiles where they hadn't painted properly and the roof is now grey!!
There was absolutely no communication with us whatsoever. They used all of our spare tiles as they didn't bring the correct ones and still haven't replaced them.
The supervisor came round to inspect and see why we weren't happy and he said he would give us a tin of paint to redo the back fence and get the painters to come back. 3 months later we still hadn't heard anything. Now I finally get a phone call saying they are redoing the painting now even though I knew nothing about them coming round! Great communication guys!
