I bought this for myself after living alone for the first time in years. I wanted something simple without complicated technology. Very happy with the purchase and I feel safer having it nearby. Show details
Purchased for my dad who still likes going for daily walks on his own. We wanted something that gave him independence without making him feel like he was being monitored all the time. He actually likes wearing it, which was our biggest concern. It gives us reassurance without being intrusive. Show details
I purchased a fall alarm for my wife from this company 18 months ago. After some difficulty getting a response about their incomprehensible instructions, I got it working after speaking to someone called [Name Removed]. In those days they had a phone number. Last week the device refused to charge, so I contacted them via email. They responded the… Read more
same day providing advice on how to clean the connections and asking for photos and video to show them the issue. I sent the requested photos and video. 4 days later they responded that they had sent the material to their technician to review. It's now 4 days and counting with no further response, despite my daily requests for an update.

An excellent product at best available price anywhere (2 unit purchase). We chose to purchase our personal fall alarms from Personal Alarms Australia as they have a 100% positive feedback rating for their eBay store and although there were slightly… Read more
cheaper single unit prices online (about $20 less), buying two at the same time saved us $120. No other outlet offered anything for multiple unit purchases. They were sent AusPost Express (included in the price) and arrived in Hobart, from Sydney in 2 days.
These alarms are the the highly regarded fifotrack Model Q3 and are the same as those offered from companies also selling subscription monitoring for considerable extra on-going cost that most users won't need. They have metal cases that are waterproof to IP67 and can be worn in the shower or in heavy rain for up to 30 minutes. The instructions are clear and concise and are essentially the same as available to download from the fifotrack website. The Telstra pre-paid SIMs were as easy to install as in any modern phone - but Telstra staff are happy to do that for you if it is too daunting. Their pre-paid Casual SIM-only cost is $39 for 6 months, and that is the only on-going cost you need pay.
Programming the emergency numbers via SMS from our iPhones went exactly as described in the instructions and confirmation reply was received from the devices (B11, OK). The alarms tested perfectly by simulating a fall (dropping the device on the couch). The first of the programmed three emergency numbers received a call allowing two way communication. A few seconds later and all three numbers received an SMS with a GPS co-ordinates and an accurate Google Map link to the site of the alarm event.
If I have a slight reservation about the promotional material on these alarms, it's that the stated battery life of 10 days really relates to being turned on but remaining in the same location. Once you move around and the GPS tracking kick in, the battery life is much less. But the devices charge in 2 hours from flat on the supplied charging cradle, so no big deal! The only unexplained thing, even on the fifotrack website, is the + and - function of the buttons on the side of the alarm. These buttons are otherwise used for turning the device on/off and accessing the phone call function respectively.
It seems that any negative reviews here for this company either relate to other products they sell, delivery times in remote areas not being as fast as stated express times for capital cities, or not being able to understand the instructions. If you are an elderly person who is not familiar with today's technology and unable to access someone who is, then that could be an issue. If not, purchasing one of these excellent devices from this company is unlikely to be a bad experience.
Follow-up · • The alarm device is supplied with a lanyard that allows it to be worn under a pullover or on top, so the wearer can choose which is more convenient. • The SOS button does not activate unless pressed for more than 2 seconds. The wearer will feel a vibration to confirm intention to call. The SOS can be cancelled with a subsequent short press. • The speaker is surprisingly clear and the microphone is similar clarity to those in smart phones IMHO.
Do NOT purchase a “SOS” watch for the elderly. I purchased one in Sept 2024 before leaving hospital after a total of 12 months, was very unwell & frail. It was meant to be for myself & family,s peace of mind. From the getgo it didn’t work, the fall… Read more
detection alarm went off randomly even if I wasn’t wearing it, the gps put me at random addresses nearby & up to 5 kilometres away, the battery only lasted 3 hours. I contacted them immediately requesting a refund, no response. 5 emails later in in May I finally received a reply telling me to send it to them so their “technician” could have a look at it. I replied telling them I had no confidence in a speedy result & just wanted a refund as the product has several MAJOR faults & would gladly return it after I received the refund at their cost. Again, silence from them. Another 6 emails & 1 registered letter still no response. Given the urgency for a reliable SOS watch I have had to purchase another from a more reputable company & it works well. I have now got a lawyer to handle this for me & will be taking them to court. I would love for other dissatisfied customers to contact me & also go to A Current Affairs. They can’t continue to take advantage of elderly, frail people who give them their hard earned money in good faith.
Follow-up · Firstly I would like to update my star rating for papa. The only reason I gave them 1 star was to lodge a review. Their customer service is non existent. There was almost zero process of dealing with them, 18 emails and 1 registered letter to them with only a 2 unsatisfactory replies until I wrote a review. All of a sudden they could make an… Read more

negative review. Reposted as I have received my money back. Ensuring consumers are sufficiently warned.
I am very sorry to hear you have had a negative experience with us so far, and would like to try my best to resolve this for you. I’ve taken the time to review your case, and I can see there’s been some frustration in getting this resolved and that’s certainly not the experience we want for you. Upon reviewing the case and history, I can see our customer service team has followed our returns policy and have not approved a return as there does not seem to be a fault with the device. That said, given your circumstances, I’m happy to step in and resolve this. I would be happy to request a special exception to our policy to our Director for approval to process a full refund so we can bring this matter to a close. Could you kindly indicate if you would be willing to remove your review in exchange for a special exception and immediate refund once the review is removed. I can put this forward for approval so we can bring this matter to a close. Kind regards, Brooke
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your quick response. I have received approval to provide you a full refund once your review is removed and returned devices are received.
Kind regards, Brooke
In March 2026, I purchased two medical alert watches for my elderly father and one for his brother. I set up the watch for my father without any issues. The watch was initially too sensitive and was constantly activating with routine daily tasks. I set the sensitivity setting to 6 which was the lowest and seemed to help. When activated, the watch is supposed to call the first number and if unanswered, dials the second then third. Problem is this does not happen. I was told to disable voicemail (not ideal) on the three contact numbers. This has made no difference and just rings out and does not divert. I have sent numerous emails to their customer 'service' initially to resolve the issue (not possible) and then request a refund. I have had sporadic responses from a person called Glazia. They refuse to call me or now respond to my emails. On the week just gone, they obviously decided to remote test the device by continually activating it without informing us first. I was left with no option other than to formally complain to NSW Fair Trading to resolve the issue. This is marketed as a safety device, but does not live up to it's promises. They are happy to take your money, but refuse to comply with their legal responsibilities when there is an issue. EDIT: I was offered a replacement pendant instead of the watch. These are not suitable due to medical reasons (pace maker).
Do not buy this product, there are alternatives on the market that operate as described.
Its’ a great Watch I bought this watch around 18 months ago for my 85- year- old wife. I found that the setup was simple using the app which you download from the Google app store (SeTracker2). After purchasing the sim card from Telstra on their 6 month casual plan @ $39, for this you get 110 mins of calls and 114 text messages, these amounts… Read more
are ample, I have never used the quota on the 6-month plan. After studying the app, I could see great potential for using the watch as a means of communication with my wife and I, if we leave our mobiles behind, which we often do. So I bought another for myself, now we can call each other to check on each of us, I have them set so that they answer automatically after they ring 3 times. Having our extra phone number is handy for my daughters, if they cant reach us on our mobiles they will call to our watch number. You can receive any amount of calls on the Telstra plan. We can also keep a check on each other's wareabouts using a very accurate GPS and take a photo of where the other person is, this is then loaded to the app with the watch position. The watch has only around 2 days of battery usage, but this is not a problem as we charge our phones every night next to our bed, We feel that this is the thing to do as the watch is there for emergencies if help is needed during the night. This watch is perfect for our situation. If I had young children, it would be one of the first things I would buy them. This watch is by far the best value on the market, I know I have looked at them all. I have a Samsung Galaxy $500 Smart watch which is nowhere as usefull as this one, you can't put a sim into it. Its in my draw somewhere Very happy user's Gerald and Anne
Purchased this alarm for my father who's recovering from a stroke. He's doing well but we wanted something in place just in case he has another fall or needs help quickly. The alarm is really straightforward to use which is important because his mobility and coordination aren't what they used to be. Setup took me about 25 minutes including getting… Read more
the SIM activated. The instructions were clear enough. We've tested the SOS button heaps of times and it works instantly every time. Calls the emergency contacts and sends text messages with GPS location. The fall detection feature seems pretty sensitive in a good way. Dad wears it all day and says it's light and doesn't get in the way. Battery life has been solid, usually 3 to 4 days between charges. The fact there's no monitoring contract or monthly fees is brilliant. Those services are expensive and the money adds up over time. This does everything we need without the ongoing costs. Very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to others.

My mum in law had a fall in the shower last year and thankfully she was alright but it gave us all a fright. Got her this alarm after she got out of hospital. She's not the most tech savvy so I was worried she wouldn't use it properly but it's dead simple. One button to press and help is on the way. She wears it round her neck most days. Been worth every cent for the peace of mind.
Purchased this after seeing an ad somewhere online. She can call us directly with the press of a button. Works as it should and mum's happy wearing it. Can't ask for more than that really.
Bought this for my nan who's 82 and still living at home. She reckons she doesn't need it but wears it anyway to keep us happy. Tested it with the whole family on the emergency contacts list and it rang everyone one after the other like it's meant to. GPS was spot on when we checked where she was. Beats paying those mob $50 a month for monitoring. Show details

This is the cheapest personal alarm on the market for a reason. There is no customer service no phone number and they do not answer emails or their contact for. The have not supplied the full order I placed and cannot be contacted. The alarm they are selling is out dated and difficult to set up and does not provide the functionality of others on the market. In short do not buy here. Show details
Bought a uniwa phone it was faulty I had to return it I had to fight really hard to get a refund this was for my very elderly mother I had to get another phone because personal alarms took more than a month to resolve this issue I used everything in my power to get a refund but it was difficult I suggest you stay away Show details
SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE OF BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY. I purchased a 'big button' phone for an elderly relative in January 2025. It arrived promptly and I was able to get it up and running quickly. 8 months later the phone was well and truly not working. I contacted the company to activate the warranty and in the beginning they were very… Read more
responsive to my emails, asking me to test the phone and send them photos. They then requested I send the phone back to them so their technician can have a look at it. The sent me a return label to send the phone back to them - which I did. The phone was returned to a PO BOX address in Salamander Bay in NSW and I received a notification from Australia Post to advise it's been delivered to the PO BOX and awaiting collection.
My communication with the company over the course of 7-10 days when I'd ask for an update was 'I'll check with our technician and I'll get back to you' - they never got back to me.
Over a week after I had posted the phone back to the company I received another email from Australia Post to say the parcel is still in the PO BOX! They haven't even collected the item from the PO BOX.
My emails have been unanswered for 2 days now.
There is no phone number available on their website to phone the company. Only one 'info' email address or the 'Contact Form'
If you're trying to do the right thing and look after the safety of the elderly and vulnerable in your care: 1. Do not buy anything from this company as you'll lose your money and your time 2. Purchase from businesses who have a phone number you can call for customer service

Bought two watches, one for mum and one for my aunty who lives near her. Figured they could be each other's emergency contacts along with us kids. Setup was pretty simple, just needed to work through the instructions. The GPS tracking works well when we want to check in on mum without calling her every five minutes. No ongoing fees is brilliant. Show details
Got this for my mum after she had a bit of a scare at home on her own. She's 78 and fiercely independent so we needed something she'd actually wear. Took me about 10 minutes to set up including activating the sim card. Tested the SOS button a few times and it rang through to me straight away with her location. No monthly fees was the big selling point for us. Really happy with it. Show details
Ordered the watch for mum who's been a bit wobbly on her feet lately. The fall detection is what sold us. Tested it by dropping it on the couch from a height a few times and it triggered every time. Real fall would obviously be different but gives you some confidence. Support were helpful over email when I had questions. Been running smoothly for about a month now. Show details
Got this for my grandfather who's 85 and still living in his own place out past Bendigo. He's a stubborn old bugger who didn't want a bar of it at first but came around once we explained there's no one listening in or tracking him all the time. Alarm works properly when tested. Good to support an Aussie business too. Show details
Grabbed this for myself for when I’m out walking solo in the arvo. The SOS button is easy to hit and makes me feel a lot safer. Setup was super quick, under 5 minutes. Tested it with my partner and it worked straight away. Simple and does what it says. Show details
Bought a personal sos alarm for a friend who lives alone. SIM card insertion a bit fiddly but can be done at phone store by staff. Sends alerts well, including the low battery alerts in case holder forgets to charge. Good value for peace of mind. Follow up contact from Personal Alarms Australia to check alarm working well was an appreciated nice touch. Show details

Picked this up for my dad while he's recovering from a stroke. He's doing alright but we wanted something there just in case. We've tested the SOS heaps and it works instantly every time. Sends through the location as well which is handy. Fall detection seems to pick things up well. He wears it all day and says it doesn't bother him. Show details
Mum had a fall last year which gave us all a scare. She didn’t want one of those monitored ones, felt a bit over the top for her. This was a good middle ground. Setup took around 8 minutes and wasn’t hard at all. I’m not the best with tech but managed fine. The button is nice and big which helps as she’s got arthritis. Tested it a few times and it… Read more
calls and texts straight away. She’s been wearing it for a couple months now and says she barely notices it.
This was recommended by a friend who bought one for her parents. Setup took around 15 to 20 minutes, mainly due to activating the SIM. Once that was done, it worked smoothly. No ongoing costs apart from the mobile credit, which is a plus.
Bought this for my own use actually. I'm in my 60s and do a lot of solo hiking and camping around Tasmania. Wanted something for emergencies that didn't need a monthly subscription. This alarm fits the bill perfectly. Setup was straightforward enough, took me about 20 minutes to get everything configured. The SOS button is easy to access even with… Read more
gloves on. I've tested it a few times before heading out on trips and the alerts go through instantly to my daughter and son. GPS tracking works well even in fairly remote areas as long as there's mobile coverage. Battery life is good, lasts several days of regular use. It's comfortable to wear and not too bulky. Build quality seems solid, survived a few knocks already. The price is very reasonable especially when you factor in no monthly fees. Only ongoing cost is keeping credit on the SIM which is minimal. Really happy with this purchase and feel much safer heading out bush now.
Bought this for my own safety when walking alone in the afternoons. The SOS button is easy to reach and gives me confidence when I am out by myself. Tested it with my partner and the alert came through straight away. Simple and effective. Show details
My brother and I went in together to buy this for our mum who lives in rural Victoria. She's pretty stubborn about staying independent and refused to get one of those monitored alarms. This was a good compromise. Gives her a way to contact us in an emergency without feeling like she's being babysat. The setup process was pretty easy. I'm not… Read more
particularly tech minded but managed to follow the instructions and had it working in about half an hour. We tested it multiple times. The SOS button, the fall detection, the GPS. All worked properly every time. Mum's been wearing it for about three months now and says it's comfortable and she barely notices it. Battery holds a charge for several days which is handy. The GPS is accurate enough that we can check where she is if we're worried. Best part is there's no monthly fees. Just a one off purchase and then minimal costs for the SIM credit. Support team were great when we had questions. Really pleased with this product.
Spent ages looking at different alarms before deciding on this one for my dad in regional NSW. Main reason was no monthly fees, those big alarm companies want like $50+ every month which adds up fast. Setup took me maybe 30 minutes including getting the SIM going. Had to ring support once because I wasn't sure about the emergency contacts bit, and… Read more
they walked me through it no worries. We've tested it heaps. The SOS button, fall detection, GPS tracking. All works properly. Dad wears it when he's out on the property and it's given the whole family peace of mind. Battery lasts a few days which is pretty good. Build quality feels solid too, not like some cheap thing that'll break in a month. For what you pay compared to those subscription services, it's honestly a no brainer. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking after older relatives.
I highly recommend Personal Alarms Australia for anyone looking for a personal alarm. just to stay in contact. So easy to set up. We are notified immediately with a text to all notified numbers programmed then a call in sequence and a google map of his precise location when activated.
