We purchased a $200 gift voucher in 2024 for our family member only to be told it is no longer valid for Harley Heaven in Adelaide-https://www.peterstevens.com.au/gift-cards. The background to this is Peter Stevens Motorcycles of which Harley… Read more
Heaven is part of the group went into administration early 2025 and was saved under a restructure by Joe Rascal Group and ASX-listed Motorcycle Holdings Ltd with the closure of a number of stores . Harley Heaven in SA was retained .
In terms of purchased gift cards, the clause states on their website : "Motorcycle Holdings Limited will honour all valid gift cards and vouchers purchased between the following dates 19 May 2022 to 11 August 2025 .Gift cards/vouchers must be redeemed by 30 September 2025. After this date, they will no longer be valid.”
In other words this forces customers who have purchased a valid gift voucher over the course of a 3 year period to have these converted to transactions in only 6 weeks would you believe , how would they know without any notification and then closing the deadline ,catching out many individuals such as ourselves . I recognise all vouchers have a time period ie "sunset clause" however this is highly unprofessional .When purchasing vouchers receipts were provided and our email address provided to the store as part of the purchase. Our poor family member who received this as a special gift , was rejected at the counter in Oct 2025 placing both himself and us in an embarrassing situation where a special birthday gift is no longer valid.
We have lost our $200 as a result of this unconscionable practice and will need to outlay for another gift for him - To say we are upset by these circumstances would be an understatement.
A formal complaint has been lodged with Consumer Affairs and i would highly recommend not dealing with this organisation regardless of what ownership has changed hands.
In the interest of retaining customers and building new business especially under new ownership , such practices only damage your reputation which you most desperately need to promote. Perhaps new CEO of Motorcycle Holdings , Matt Wiesner could improve his retailers customer service by being a little more sympathetic to loyal customers rather than imposing such draconian conditions on loyal customers . In fact the gift voucher process encourages a customers repeat business so doing this has achieved the exact opposite , its unfortunate retailers have no idea how to attract and retain customers, you may think the brand sells itself however without great customer service the brand represents nothing . Given our family member is quite prominent in the Harley community , this experience will be shared with many other colleagues in Adelaide which impacts repeat business . Disappointing really ,of which Harley Heaven was once an excellent retailer.
Follow-up · I am pleased to advise following this compliant Harley Heaven responded , realising their position , and honoured the gift voucher. Thankyou for listening to customers needs.
I bought my Triumph Bonneville T120 into Adelaide, and it was running so bad that the engine was stopping and it had 4 orange lights up on the dash. It was too dangerous to ride home so I took it to Peter Stevens Motorcycle Adelaide Workshop. I… Read more
didn't have an appointment. The Workshop Receptionist said they were very Busy and may not get to my bike for some time. When I arrived home, I rang the workshop and enquired if they ever had any cancelations? and if they did could they work on my T120 then? Well later in the afternoon the workshop rang to say my T120 was fixed and ready to pick up. That was quick!! I didn't want to pick up my T120 that late because of the busy traffic, so my wife and I picked up the motorcycle the next day. The T120 was running like new, which I was very pleased about. The Workshop staff couldn't have looked after me and my motorcycle any better in my opinion, especially when I was just a blow in with no appointment!! The workshop staff looked at the error codes on my machine, and it pointed them to a loose battery terminal. I never would have found that out on my own, that is for sure!!
Follow-up · Top follow-up questions readers have asked about your review: Was the cost of the repair reasonable? It was $175 Did they explain the repair clearly? Yes, it turned out to be loose battery terminals, which they found with the special tool for looking at fault codes. How was the workshop waiting area? You don't wait at the workshop. You wait at the Motorcycle sales area with free coffee. I didn't wait I asked my wife to pick me up.

Absolutely no pride whatsoever. Got the tyres done at Peter Stevens Adelaide. I'm not fussy about not cleaning my rims but don't give the bike back with finger prints all over the wheels. Can't see any balance weights on neither of the wheels as well, I highly doubt they actually balanced the wheels.
AVOID PETER STEVEN'S GEELONG – Don't give them deposit or any form of cash!!! I had a bike on hold (confirmed that it arrived over the phone and was told bike wasn't going anywhere) yet a week later after getting back from holiday I went in to pay in full and there's no bike to be seen or found. They couldn't give an honest answer and it's basically my fault as I couldn't… Read more
remember name of person I spoke with. They promised delivery X2 before now going back from September and that's why they had my cash (I don't leave deposit on bikes that aren't there) Clearly the bike was sold and now I'm out of a bike and knocked back a 25 560l from Matt Jones Melton (They've won awards for a reason unlike Peter Steven's Geelong) because they said my bike was in. (650l now sold typical). I could only imagine how they would act when a bike has issues. AVOID BUYING FROM THERE. THERE'S BETTER DEALERS WITHIN HOUR OF THEM. If I could give 0 I would have given it to these liars and con artists. I can't submit proof of purchase as there was purchase for FK sake

Billing and quality of workmanship – Had my front brake pads for a F3 Spyder replaced on the attached invoice, there are three charges for the brake pads replace front brake pads at the top of the invoice then two more below it for brake pad front and brake pads kit a total of $520.85 if my math's is correct, very expensive for a couple of brake pads, questioned this a number of… Read more
times no response from Peter Stevens. Also had the brake fluid system flushed an extra $400.00 on getting home noticed how dirty the brake reservoir cap was, I found the inside of reservoir looked as dirty as the top section in the attached photos, unfortunately I wiped the bowl out before I thought of taking a picture. From the colour of the brake fluid I question if it has even been replaced. Also Paid $190.91fitting cost for tyres first time I've had to pay extra, every other place that I had dealt with included that in the purchase price. From my dealings with them I don't recommend them.
BAD HARLEY DAVIDSON SERVICE FROM PETER STEVENS – UNSATISFACTORY HARLEY DAVIDSON SERVICE FROM PETER STEVENS 230 Franklin Street, Adelaide PREFACE In line with a 2500 kms motorcycle ride through S.A. with three friends I booked my Harley in for a service, tune-up, complete checkover and fitting a new rear tyre on 12 October 2022. We left Adelaide 22 October for Quorn and beyond. Arriving in… Read more
Quorn I checked the rear tyre pressure which read just 12 rather than the recommended 40 on the new tyre. Clearly something was wrong. We topped it up to 40 again and then rode to Hawker. It was then down to 30 in that short ride. Consequently I took the Harley to Hawker Motors. The tube revealed a triangular tear, almost certainly caused by a tyre lever. (see picture).
I rang Harley Heaven who sent a replacement tube overnight. The tyre and tube were refitted and we continued our tour. But I lost the day’s tour to Blinman and Wilpena with my mates.
CONTACT WITH HARLEY HEAVEN ON RETURN TO ADELAIDE
I met with Peter Stevens Harley Heaven Dealer Principal [Name Removed] and reported the events. I requested as compensation:
the replacement tube to be free-of-charge - I have not been charged for it. reimbursement of $83.08 being the tube courier to Hawker plus their fitting charges and the subsequent inspection and confirmation that the rear wheel met specifications back at H.H. be free-of-charge - I have not been charged for it.
Forster approved the F.O.C. inspection. But he denied that H.H. was responsible for the tube pinch. When I asked for an alternative cause of the pinch, [Name Removed] could offer none. Its not the money that matters. In further discussions at a subsequent face-to-face meeting [Name Removed] said to me “if you don’t like it just go somewhere else”.
I left two telephone messages for Peter Forster on Monday 14 November but have not received a call back.
I have been a loyal Harley Heaven client for 27 years. No longer.

Service – Peter Stevens Adelaide. I had decided that I would not deal with this store after some very disappointing services. I have been going to motorcycle shops for about 60 years. have never come across any that was so up to date with their brief. He knowledge of each product was brilliant as was her demonstration of each product. I also was attended to by a sales person named Alec. His service was on a par with Ada's. With that sort of competence and service I ended up purchasing around $3000 of merchandise. Service and knowledge of products will win the day! There were a couple of glitches, not their doing, but this was sorted quickly. I also had dealings with the service centre and pleased to say had excellent service there as well. A far cry from previous experience. The person that I dealt with there was Dion McKiernan. Congratulations on your selection of staff and look after them. Staff of this calibre are very difficult to find in this day and age. Well done. Frank.

Do not take you bike in for service or repair. They are the most incompetent, careless time wasters I have ever encountered. Save yourself the trouble. Took it in for a insurance repair and they ordered the wrong parts, then took 4 months to complete a 2 week job. Still waiting for the motorbike. I had to do the research and find the parts for them. Totally incompetent and shouldn't be in business. Show details

Fast forward nearly four weeks... I still haven't received any of my parts.
Every time I call the store...

What I have received is...
A complete lack of communication and the missed opportunity to ride my Ducati during the ideal summer weather, including missing out on the chance to ride to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for the WSBK round – something I've done every year for the past 20 years.
After this experience, I regret to say this will be the last time I purchase anything from Peter Stevens Motorcycles.
Stay away. Terrible service – Stay away from Peter Stevens Adelaide. My motorcycle has only 2000kms on it and still under warranty and has an electrical/issue where the bike is dead. warranty as it expires in a mth and that was declined so i have a new bike that is unreliable, unsafe and unroadworthy. Terrible experience. Will be selling it asap and going to bike works to purchase a harley.
Wait six weeks for off the shelf brake pads – Picked up a Honda from them 2 years ago, now selling it, and in my way of thinking the front brake pads were done. So I called the spare parts people to get new pads. I was told I would have to wait six weeks for new pads... I cannot believe any business would send you down the road for spare parts for the brands they sell. It seems that they cannot do enough, to not help you.
Terrible customer service – Purchased a pair of heated gloves HG3 online, but battery life did not live up to expectations. Only getting about 15-20 minutes before battery levels starts dropping. Gloves then lose pairing and I have to go through the process of recharging and re-pairing the gloves. Gloves are fine; batteries are poor. Despite multiple email and telephone calls to the company, no-one will respond to my request, which is simply for replacement batteries. Show details
didn't want my money – Just got back from Peter Stevens Ringwood , terrible sales technique , the used bike team Whom i found to be very polite & giving of their time , rang me & asked me to come in & test ride a used Triumph Tiger 1050 which i had looked at a couple of times over the last couple of months , when i arrived on Sat morning 27/7 , i noticed the used bike… Read more
showroom was now Ducatti & the new & used bikes were now sharing the same space in the new bike showroom , i saw a review on the new Kawasaki Eliminator 450 the night before & was hoping to test ride that one too as it seemed pretty good , but they only had the café style , the one i wanted was on back order , so i didn't get to test ride it , the other 3 used bikes they had in stock which i was contemplating buying were a Vulcan S , 2013 triumph 1050 ( Tiger ) & a 2013 ish XJR1300 which i only noticed that morning & which i have always loved the look of , i explained to the salesman i wanted to compare all 3 bikes & i was ready to buy , with cash . unfortunately none of the used bike sales people were working , i was chatting to the boss & told him that i had test ridden a Vulcan S about 1 year ago but it was very jerky , ( not smooth when transitioning between acceleration/deceleration & vice versa ) & that i would like to try their demo to see if the throttle was the same or if it was smoother on their bike & that i would probably buy the bike as i liked the look of it if it was smooth , ( although i would have probably brought a new one for an extra 2 k ) , i rode one when the Vulcan S 1st came out & that was very smooth , i had to wait a while for the test rider so after a while of waiting , because it was very Quiet ( they had just opened ) i asked the boss if i could also test ride the Triumph & the 1300 while i was there & that i was happy to do this on other days if necessary , the boss got angry @ me & started yelling , stating that i said , "if i liked the Vulcan i would buy it" , i told him that's not what i said , i told him that i said "probably". he stared me down & he then said to me that i could not test ride the other 2 bikes ( Triumph & 1300 ) as their policy was to only test ride 1 bike & they never allow more than 1 test ride , they offered me a 20 min ride on the Vulcan but i told them i only needed 5 mins as i knew , i would know straight away , if it was a generic throttle inconsistency , unfortunately it had the same jerky acceleration/deceleration , over sensitive throttle again , like the clutch & throttle didn't pair very well , so i passed on that one which was disappointing because ergonomically it was the best , I asked the test rider if i could then test the other 2 , he & the salesman told me i would have the same throttle issue with those 2 bikes as well because they were more powerful , i said , "who knows , i haven't been on either of those 2 bikes before i might really like 1 of them" i liked the look of them & that it was not a power issue with the Vulcan , it was a smoothness issue & that there was no sweet spot @ the 1st 1% of acceleration & deceleration , then , they tried to sell me a new scrambler that i wasn't interested in , i repeated that i would like to try the Triumph or 1300 , the shop was still pretty quiet , the salesman then told me that if i agree to buy the Triumph , then i can take it out for a ride , otherwise i could not ride it , i had to laugh , it had become obvious that this was a directive from the angry boss in charge of the showroom , maybe because he had to share his space with the used bikes , i told the test rider & the salesman their sales technique was terrible & they were loosing a potential sale & were probably loosing a lot of sales this way , i don't think they cared because i was now discussing used bikes , i thanked them for their time & left , it would have been better if the used bike sales people were working there as they knew me from previous discussions , looks like i am either keeping my bike a bit longer or buying from someone else now , maybe used or maybe an Eliminator if i like the test ride or maybe even a Super Meteor , CLC450 or Rebel 500 , haven't taken any of them out for a ride yet , i guess in the end , you can lead a salesman to money , but you cant make them sell ...
How are these rouges still in business has me stumped – Dodgy and unethical to say the least. Purchased a brand new Harley from Ringwood, massive mistake. When I questioned them after the promotions launch (after I picked up my bike) I… Read more
was told no less then three times and by different people including the DP "no we knew nothing about it" .Found out from another dealer that all dealers new about the promotional via email days before the end of that month to prepare for the next months offer. They even pushed me to make sure I signed the contract before the end of that month, should have know something was up then and there.
Not only did they lie about that they also fudged the figures on the contract to change bike price, trade in value/rego/GST to their favor, none of my accessories are even listed on the contract, presumably to lower stamp duty costs. When questioned upon signing my copy of the contract I was simply told "they had to play with the figures to make it work".
I have been in the automotive industry for over 25 years and never have I seen such dodgy and blatantly illegal practices by a sales team. Needless to say this will play out in VCAT in the coming months as their efforts to resolve this have been non existent.
Dishonest & deceptive sales tactics – I wished to purchase a brand new motorcycle, of which they had one in stock. Disappointing Experience at Peter Stevens Ringwood – If there was a negative star option I would give that!! received a call stating that weekend servicing was unavailable, and I had to reschedule. This initial inconvenience set the tone for what would turn out to be a frustrating and unsatisfactory service visit.
Upon arrival, I was informed that the service, including the installation of frame sliders, would take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Regrettably, this turned out to be far from the truth, as the entire process took nearly 5 hours, leaving me frustrated and wasting valuable time. Given that it was my first service, I had numerous questions and required additional work, such as the installation of a USB port. However, the staff displayed zero enthusiasm and seemed uninterested in addressing my concerns or assisting with any additional requests. To my dismay, the USB installation was completely overlooked, and no one bothered to inquire about it.
To add insult to injury, when I inquired about the absence of a wash for my motorcycle, I was given the outrageous response that they do not wash black bikes. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction left me dumbfounded and questioning whether they truly care about their customers at all.
In conclusion, my experience at Peter Stevens Ringwood was nothing short of disappointing. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and apathetic attitude displayed by the staff during my first service visit left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. It is disheartening to invest in a brand new motorcycle and be met with such subpar service. I sincerely hope that the management takes note of these issues and implements necessary improvements to ensure a more satisfactory experience for future customers.

1 star is too many for Service Department, what a scam – Great sales team across the road but the workshop is dreadful. already paid for fitting. Attended Dandenong Service Centre to have the parts fitted (over an hour's drive from home). One centre-stand mounting bolt fell out within a couple of weeks and the centre-stand screwed around and fouled against the back wheel. I put a nut and bolt in as temporary fix. The second mounting bolt was less than finger tight and about to separate as well. Trim shroud surrounding the ignition switch (which had to be removed to fit the heated grips) was presumably lost and was replaced by an incorrect sized part which was badly scratched. It looked like it had been kicking about on the workshop floor for a few months before someone picked it up and shoved it onto my bike. Took the bike back to have these issues resolved. After having the bike for 8 hours (I had to take a day off work to attend to it), they had replaced the shroud, but had not touched the centre-stand, despite telling me they had ordered and fitted replacement parts and it was now sorted. Eventually took the bike to Moto Guzzi Australia to have their mechanic fix it. Even they suggested that if I wanted to keep the bike for any time, find someone else to do the servicing. Peter Stevens are great at selling bikes, but they don't want you to come back, so they do such an appalling job at servicing that you are forced to go elsewhere.
Service pricing excessive – Just picked up my brand new KTM690 last week after 3 month order, and quoted $450 for the 1000km initial service/check one week later by Peter Stevens the seller.
