This product is guaranteed to fail. There is a major flaw with this device that causes the attachment that goes into the brush head to weaken and bend over time until you can't get proper force on your teeth as it become increasingly weaker. I… Read more

bought a substantially cheaper supermarket model for overseas travel and it is far superior in its strength does not break and does a better job. Your paying a premium on this device for it to fail.

I already got a replacement under warranty and this has happened again. The design/model is flawed.

Follow-up  · Flaw: weak thin piece of metal attachment that clicks into brushhead. It is a continuous loss of pressure and associated degree of vibration over time. How long did it last: 6-12months without notice. It is a continual degradation so hard to specify. Supermarket model: No idea. It was a general cheapy from Coles battery non-rechargeable 2xAAAs. Stopped working after 8 months – While I did love this toothbrush, it is way expensive for a product that just doesn't last. I would never purchase again based on the fact that they don't last and the battery life just progressively gets worse. Don't recommend. Show details

I purchased a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean and have had 4 faulty units!!!! Each time they send me a replacement, the replacement unit becomes faulty again in under 12 months. DO NOT BUY! Customer support is terrible, and now they want me to send them the 4th replacement and wait up to 4 weeks for them to sort it out. Terrible! Time to find a better product. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT BUY PHILIPS! Show details

Works well – I purchased my Philips Sonicare Diamondclean toothbrush from Harvey Norman after my trusty old oral B finally stopped working. It was on sale at the time, but at $279 I believe this is still quite a lot to pay for a toothbrush. The first time I used it I noticed how slim the head was because it was easy to get around in my mouth. My old oral… Read more ·  1

B had a lot bulkier head. The philips brush head does not fill with water like the oral B head used to. My teeth feel and look cleaner.

The charging cup is great design and the USB charger and carry case means I can take it on holidays.

The reliability of Philips products have really let me down over the years, from my Philips 68cm TV that stopped working after just a few years to my multiple Philips 2 in 1 steam mops that stopped working just after the warranty had expired. I hope it is different this time round because I enjoy using this electric tooth brush.

I love this toothbrush, but design flaw + poor Philips customer service does not match price tag – 5 years of (almost) toothy bliss. Glass charger stopped working within 12 months but travel charger case is great. Apparently they all eventually get the loud noise/toothbrush head falling off issue because of a small screw that vibrates loose over time. Philips won't fix if its out of warranty and their customer service just stopped replying to… Read more ·  1

my emails after I supplied serial number and a video clip of the issue. Has been 3 weeks now without response, despite me continuing to email each week seeking an update. But thankfully, you can buy a brand new replacement handle from eBay for about $100.

I have been using the Oral B 9000 in the interim, which is great, has a better timer and pressure sensor but a different feel - doesn't leave your teeth with that 'polished' smooth feeling. For me, I like that the DiamondClean is quieter (especially at nighttime so you don't wake people up) and was better for the gum line area/alleviating discomfort when I change my Invisalign aligners. I think if you like the Sonicare it's hard to go back to an oscillating toothbrush. But it is nice to have both options. The Oral B definitely seems to be better value for money and more reliable, however the battery life is nowhere near as good.

My dental hygienist hasn't noticed any difference between the two and says that brushing 2 mins bottom and 2 mins top (4 mins total) plus flossing and Tooth Mousse are the keys to helping your teeth live their best life.

I just wish I had saved myself the $$ in the first place and bought a non-retail boxed DiamondClean because a two year warranty for a $300 toothbrush is kind of a joke, especially when there is a known design flaw that eventually arises in all of them (according to Shaver Shop!) and there's no way of getting a repair outside that time period. :(

Great product - for charging and keeping charge. The brushing ability and oral health is fantastic – We have used some other electric toothbrushes over the years, and they have been good. This time before we traveled overseas I wanted to find toothbrushes that could maintain a charge and be charged on chargers accepting 110v and 220-240v which has always been a pain. Our Australian brushes wouldn't charge in US or Canada for instance. These… Read more ·  1

brushes use the same charge voltage as our phone and tablets, so we didn't have to chase up anything.

The Sonic brushes use lithium batteries and familiarity with modern battery powered tools and the like gave us great confidence. Try not let them get too flat before charging, but USB chargers will top them up through the case while away from home. Even the batteries so common today.

On watching the YouTube videos we reckon out oral health has improved, the teeth feel cleaner and I feel sure they look cleaner too. The dentist hasn't been to mine, but the ability of the brush to clean teeth gives me great confidence he would be pleased.

The cost is high but these Sonicare brushes fit the bill for their charge-ability and their cleaning ability make them the top product for us

I love my Philips Sonicare Diamondclean toothbrush – I bought my Philips Sonicare Diamondclean toothbrush 2 months ago. toothbrush sits in a charging cup and recharges automatically so it’s ready to use or if you’re travelling it can be placed in the case which also recharges the toothbrush.

There are many mode to choose from but I just stick to ‘white’ and move around each tooth /area of the mouth as the vibration stops for a micro second to indicate the minutes. The toothbrush handle is sturdy and slim making it easy to hold compared to some other bulky ones.

The sonic vibration cleaning is very different to other electric toothbrushes and it takes a few days to get use to it.

I love my Philips Sonicare Diamondclean toothbrush and I won’t go back to the motor electric toothbrushes again.

5 Stars!

Excellent clean just not as durable as your old oral B – These clean your teeth much better than previous electric toothbrushes. They're not cheap but worth it. pretty good but I wish it could last longer (mine broken in less than 3 years) – easy to carry for travel, cleans well, recently the power button on mine doesn't work anymore, so it's not turning on anymore, tried to clean it, but it didn't help. Consider it's nearly caused $300, I was expecting it could last longer, not just 2 years. Looked at others experience with Philips customer support, I probably wont waste time on that, its time to try Oral B for me

It started well – I was very pleased with this unit at first. The design of the head is much more comfortable than my old OralB, due to the lower profile. It cleaned thoroughly and effectively, and was the best electric toothbrush I've owned. Battery life is excellent. 18 months down the track and I am back to my cheap old OralB. to my teeth, the vibrations stop being transmitted to the head and it makes a sound like it's internal 'gears are slipping'. It's totally ineffective as a toothbrush. It's still under warranty, so I contacted Philips. As expected, it's going to be the usual long and tortuous warranty road to get this sorted out, where the customer does all the admin and logistics and manufacturer of the faulty goods sits and directs. Considering I spent a fortune on what I considered to be the Rolls Royce of electric toothbrushes, I'm rather disillusioned.

over. The only thing is their cash back program doesn’t seem to be user friendly. The website takes you around the circle and takes you back to the original screen that tell you to hit the “cash back program available”. Best Sonic Toothbrush ever – Great product. My teeth look and feel cleaner and healthier. My dentist agrees too. I would highly recommend this product if someone is looking to get an electric (sonic) toothbrush. The battery lasts a decent amount of time where you don't have to constantly charge it. The toothbrush remembers your settings you choose for each individual type of brush head that you use for that specific purpose the toothbrush head is designed for.  Show reply

Highly recommended – The price is, frankly, pretty insane. However, if you decide to buy it, you can rest assured that you're getting something high-quality. If you are transitioning from a manual toothbrush to this (which is exactly what I did), expect your first few uses to be a little unpleasant. As the brush head does its thing, it vibrates so intensely that it tickles the more sensitive parts of the mouth. This goes away; you just have to tough it out.  Show reply
