the back. Eventually two very young men came and did an ok job. I asked them to come back and fix a problem as it looked rough in patches. They came back and tried to patch it up but it was an ordinary job. I insisted it be done better before I paid the balance, and they did. When they departed, they spray painted silver/grey splotches on my brick driveway with impossible to remove paint, probably anti graffiti paint or waterproofing spray... but it cannot be removed. I had to hire a paver to come and replace the bricks. I will never EVER hire this firm again. In fact, I tell all my friends and they won’t hire them either. I hate his advertising on the radio so much I have switched to ABC permanently. Good news travels fast, but bad news travels faster. Buyer Beware.

Our house looks great – We had new gutters installed, the fascia was painted to match the gutter colour and the soffit was cleaned and painted to finish off the work. It was great that PJ Group could do all the work. The staff and trades people were professional and great to deal with. PJ Group removed the old gutters and ensured the yard was cleared of any discard from the job.

Easy work only – Requested a quote for replacement of roof for half of house. Working same street for week and promissed to quote that week. Never heard from him again. Suspect skylights made job too difficult.

arrange for a quotation, through to Duane attending onsite for the purposes of quoting, then executing our contract and finally to the on-site works, primarily by Craig and Matt, the whole experience was an absolute pleasure. Robyn, Samantha and Sandra’s communication was prompt, frequent and clear. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Duane completed our pre-start meeting and a final confirmation of the scope of work. Duane was a pleasure to meet and deal with. Craig and Matt were capable, knowledgeable, hard-working and just a great pair of guys to have on-site during our renovation. They sought our input on all those decisions where a choice could be made. They took enormous pride in their work and went beyond what they could have done to ensure a great end result. They always kept the place tidy, left our garage secure and were friendly and helpful. It doesn’t surprise me that PJ Group has been in business for more than 35 years. Unprofessional, patronising and sexist – I paid a deposit on 12/4/19 for roof and gutter repair. It was part of a renovation of my house to sell it. I was advised work would begin in about 4 weeks. scaffolding they were going to use a harness. After me ringing weekly through May and beginning of June and being stalled, Peter Fraser, owner of the company called me on 13/6/19. He said that he did not have any staff able to do the job because they were worried about the slope of the roof. He said they would not be going ahead with the job. I said, "you could have told me this 8 weeks ago when you accepted the deposit. The slope on my roof hasn't changed". He raised his voice and shouted at me, "EXCUSE ME! I am doing you the courtesy of telling you myself and not getting one of my office girls to call you". I said, "don't you EXCUSE ME. It is now 2 months later". He repeated, "Excuse me, I am telling you we can't do the work. There are plenty of other roofing companies out there". I now have the ceiling plastered and painted because the painters were due to start work 10/6/19 and that was well after the roof should have been repaired. I just have to hope it doesn't rain. I now have to organise another roofer which will stall putting my house on the market. I believe that Peter Fraser underquoted and therefore did not want to do the work. He originally talked about scaffolding but then they were trying to do the job with a harness and none of his staff wanted to do it. It grates me when I hear his voice on the radio describing himself as an honest, reliable tradesman. Peter Fraser is a chauvinistic man who refers to female colleagues as office girls. He is not reliable and he shouts at customers. I would steer clear of this company.

had a large number of positive reviews. This was concerning for us because the amount of money you spend on a new roof is equivalent to purchasing a small car; it's a lot of money. We really wanted to make sure we were going to get a quality product we would be happy with. I'm relieved to say that we did. Having said this the true test of our roof will be over this coming storm season, but I have no doubt that if there are any problems, PJ Group will be happy to fix anything if needed

3. Meeting Pete (owner of PJ Group) was a positive experience and I found him to be a down-to-earth, matter-of-fact guy that just tells it like it is, which I really appreciate. He set the expectations for the job and delivered on those; there was no crap

4. Because we have a very old Queenslander it was obvious to me when the guys took the old roof off that the roof frame required reinforcing before the new roof was put on. This involved putting new steel screws through each of the beam joints and hinges called "triple grips" where the roof beams joined the frame of the house. When Pete came out to do the quote he had already seen this many times and already knew what my roof frame needed, which was all part of the quote. I was impressed with this because I didn't have the experience to know what state my roof was in and more importantly what work needed to be done to it

5. The Master Builders Association (MBA/QBCC) Basic Works contract provided protection for me and PJ Group with clear instructions on who is responsible for what and the options for dispute resolution if required. The price for the roof replacement was comparable to the market and was close to the other quotes we got. Pete also recommended an insulation blanket to be placed under the roof; this was a great suggestion

6. Communication and co-ordination from Robyn in the office was excellent. Communication via phone and email was frequent and if I needed any assistance I was able to speak freely and easily, thanks Robyn.

7. The guys on site knew what they were doing, were polite and just got stuck in and did the work, quickly and efficiently. The only negative was the clean-up, while the big pieces of rubbish were removed, afterwards (and very quickly I might add) I did find a fair amount of smaller pieces of rubbish littered across the lawn. But I accept that my house was essentially a construction site for a week and this is to be expected. It just required me to be diligent and spend an hour or so tidying up the smaller pieces of rubbish

8. It was great for me (a non-tradesman) to watch the process of replacing the roof as I was able to take photos of the roof frame of my own house for my record, to see the quality of the job PJ Group were doing first-hand, and to see what is involved in replacing a corrugated iron roof (to new product: Zincalume .42 BMT)

9. We are really pleased with the quality of craftsmanship of the finished product, it looks great! There was an issue with the area around our skylight replacement which I wasn’t happy with but, true to form, the guys at PJ Group came back a week later and re-did this section of the roof to my satisfaction. There are bound to be issues with any job, it’s how they’re resolved that counts, i.e. another tick for PJ Group

10. There was a second issue surrounding some difficult electrical problems for the roof replacement and I would really like to mention the excellent work Glenn and Jake from G-Con Electrical did. G-Con Electrical worked with PJ Group on the electrical side of things and I was impressed with the perseverance of the guys to isolate the problems and fix them in a timely manner

11. Overall, I’m really happy with the job that PJ Group have done, the interactions were professional, the quality of the finished product is of a very high standard and the price was around market. The only criticism I could offer to Pete is: you probably need to get your guys some singing lessons! They had the radio on while they were working and just couldn't quite hit those notes, LOL. Useless gutters – All new gutters installed for $6000 but when it rains they overflow all over the deck and verhanda. It's like there are no gutters! Disappointed. Regret. Emailed to PJ to report problem, no call back.

Exceptional Customer Service – PJ groups staff from Robyn & Peter to their trades (especially John who did our stairs) are professional caring & trustworthy. The finished job was above our expectations. We cannot say enough about John & his meticulous attention to detail and a perfect job. Trades people like this are very hard to find, let alone at a reasonable price.

Roof Restoration and Exterior Painting – Excellent work ... The Roofing Team and Exterior Painting Team were extremely professional in their tradecraft. Guteering and Facia Repair plus external painting – Excellent job. Professional and hard working, efficient tradespeople. Came when they advised they would and got in and got the job done. Went above and beyond and couldn't be more helpfully. Highly recommend them.

Rude, not wanting to quote, only interested in large projects – Made an online enquire and had to ring them twice looking for a quote. They finally phoned back over two weeks later. Then they are too busy to come and quote because the job was too small and they are booked out until next March.

Great follow up – We had PJ 'S fix our roof for a leak. After the repairs we still had the leak. Peter himself came out and inspected the work and found that the original fault was fixed but there was a hole in the timber. November and spent 2-3 hours up on the roof taking the tiles off repairing the fault and replacing the tiles. We now have to wait for rain to see if that was the problem. As Peter says on his add on the radio he does get on the tools. Thank you Peter . Also Robyn in the office who organised everything.

Still leak, not happy at all – I got PJ Group to restored my roof about a month ago and it cost $5320.00. they told me that it is all good and no more leak... Tiled roof for extension – I got PJ Group to do the roof tiling on an extension to an old house, the staff were all very professional and the roof looks fantastic.
