another order for plants arrived safely. I have used these plants as pre-bonsais. All the plants have survived and look beautiful. I could really look at them constantly just looking at them grow. I honestly wish I had found your nursery many years ago. From the very first plant I purchased from you all the plants remain healthy and are surviving. Show reply
I can't say I recommend this company. I ordered a plant, pot and soil combo and when it arrived the plant was way to big for the pot. I had to reorder a bigger pot and their way of dealing with it was giving me extra soil and express shipping. Ended up frustrated trying to deal with them via email and gave up. Always a risk when you do it, but it… Read more
ended up costing me extra for something that could have been prevented. Even my boss at work said the pot was to small.when I showed her.
Plants were never delivered instead of being left at the front Aus Post to them back to the depot after a week in transit. They were meant to be a gift so I was devastated when I reached out to get a refund or get them delivered. Response from PIAB was care factor zero go get them from the depot yourself basically go deliver them myself even… Read more
though that defeits the purpose of online gift. And no refund either so just spent money which I don't have on nothing but a stressful experience. Buyer beware.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! I bought 2 plants from them. Aloe Vera and a Spider Plant. Both arrived smushed in the same package which wasn’t great. I bought a more expensive and specific soil for them when I replanted. Both died within 3 weeks. I reached out multiple times with no response. I finally got them on a chat and they said I “over-watered” them. … Read more
There is NO warranty and that the $100-ish I spent on 2 plants I was crap out of luck on.
I would also like to add that I bought a 3rd plant from EasyPlant.com and I’ve had zero issues and it’s healthy as can be.
I would highly recommend using a local store or at least a company that backs their products.
I did ask them for help but I had to buy more plants to get help.

I want to update my review to date, being approx three weeks since plants initially arrived. Despite some initial damage and pests, I have managed to rectify the issues with some love and care, plus a bottle of Searles white oil to control the minor pest issues. After repotting and using grow lamps the plants have thrived. I’m now extremely happy… Read more · 1
with the plants, and they seem to be growing happily too. So I want to retract my initial review, which in hindsight may be a bit critical, particularly in comparison with the quality of other online plant delivery competitors. The packaging and delivery by Plant In A Box is by far superior than others, and delivery was very quick. Note: I have deleted original photos showing the issues and have replaced with current photos of much healthier plants. I will buy again from Plant In A Box.
Original review: I paid $135 for "Air Purifier Indoor Plant Box - Large - 6 Plants". They were originally $150.95, but I got the New Customers discount code for $15.00 off. The plants were TINY even though I ordered the "large" box, they not even medium in size. All of them had signs of damage (ripped or holes in leaves) and one had spider mites. I can't believe their marketing. I wrote to them advising of the defective plants and pest infestation. They admitted they had a thrips infestation and the damaged leaves were due to their pest treatment. The only resolution they offered me was a $15.00 refund. Which technically means I still paid $120.00 for 6 x damaged, pest infested, tiny plants. Furthermore, there were no description of what the actual plants were. The least they could do was provide the name/description of the type of plant delivered and also appropriate care instructions for that particular type of plant.
Pink princess bundle – Brought 4 tube pink princesses and they arrived fast and packed well and all healthy
30 hedges so far – I have been slowly getting hedges 10 at a time to plant for privacy in my very large yard. My first lot were sent close to new years and some had started to brown off with the longer time for postage and heat. I did get a part refund. I gave them another go and I now have 10 Lily Pilly hedges, 10 pink marble hedges and 10 thin red hedges in and… Read more · 1

Once again they nailed it! – The best pink princess specimen I have seen. I can’t believe how big it is for such a reasonable price. Perfectly packed so it even survived auspost. I’ve bought plants from many online stores, but these guys are my go to as they continue to exceed expectations Show reply

Ten little grevilleas – It’s a few years now since I decided to get some mini/ small grevilleas for one side of my steep driveway.Arrived by delivery in great health. They were planted by my gardener and really look lovely and now bushy and not too tall. Sadly I lost a couple but now will buy some for those spots. Took awhile for the teeny pink flowers but the bees found them I noticed! Yay.
Great plants, excellent service – Ordered a box of indoor pet safe plants, all arrived very healthy, beautifully packaged. a nice range of plants. Team were very helpful. Only suggestion - a link to a set of instructions for caring for the different plants in the box would be good as I had to search through the site to work out what each plant needs. Overall a great experience

Paid $145 for 4 plants and pots for Xmas gifts and for myself. 2mths in and all plants are pretty much dead! I have over 100 plants so feel I know abit about plants. When contacting the business the email responses were basically belittling me and condescending as if I didn’t know how to look after a plant. Don’t recommend and won’t be purchasing anything from them again.

Slow and inattentive – Previous order of some Yarrina is thriving well. Subsequent orders of Sustee water monitoring sticks have been slow and not getting any response to my emails requesting updates. I get it is coming up to Christmas but they could at least answer emails

Honest and Fair Review of Plants in a Box – I received a birthday gift from Plants in a Box, and I must say, it's a wonderful idea. The plants included in the gift were common and hardy indoor plants, which is a great choice. The packaging and presentation of the gift were impeccable, making it a delightful surprise. As a horticulturist, I genuinely appreciated the concept behind this… Read more
gift. However, I have to be honest about my experience. Out of the eight plants I received, six were root bound, which is a common issue and something easily fixable for an experienced gardener. But for someone new to indoor plants, this might be a bit overwhelming. For those just starting, it might be more practical to purchase a couple of less expensive plants from a local store like Bunnings to ease them into the hobby.
On the positive side, most of the plants provided would do well in the pots provided, which is a plus. I did reach out to the company to explain my concerns about the product, and I must say, they communicated well and were responsive.
In summary, Plants in a Box has a great concept, and for those with some gardening experience, this gift could be a delightful choice. However, for beginners, there might be a bit of a learning curve, especially with the root-bound plants. It's a thoughtful gift, but the experience may vary depending on the recipient's level of expertise in indoor gardening.

Spectacular service and great plants – I'm not really a review writer wanted to with Plants in a Box for outstanding service, packaging and superior plants. My 8 x Doryanthes Excelsa (Gymea Lilies) arrived in perfect condition, moist with notes and a video on how to look after them even after planting. I could not have afforded to buy 8 in a retail nursery. Plants in a Box is a terrific find, and they have won a client for life. Show reply
If I could give no stars I would!! :( – Received a dead plant - cost a fortune too. They refused to refund or replace or even take responsibility. Don't waste your money. Rude and borderline abusive when contacted. Reported them as a scam.

Make sure your gift recipient has internet access – I chose this company on the basis of eco claims. The selected box was sent as a gift to a bereaved elderly person, in lieu of flowers. It arrived promptly and as far as I know the plants were in good nick, but the recipient was mystified as to their identities. No plant labels were provided, which in retrospect makes sense re eco ethos, but… Read more · 1
nowhere was this mentioned on the website.
Initial plant information is provided via QR code, with basic follow-up plant care tips via email. I learned this only after contacting the business to find out what was going on.
The recipient, who lives interstate, doesn’t use a cellphone let alone internet, so I ended up printing and snail-mailing them the info. I’d have appreciated knowing at the start that this would be necessary (or having the option of printed plant information included in the package). It was a stressful time. In the end I sent them flowers to compensate for the added confusion.
It’s been a while now since I raised this with the business’ friendly customer support people and I still don’t see a heads-up for gift givers on their website. So I thought I’d let potential buyers know here.
Healthy gorgeous plants – I recently moved to a rural property and don’t have access to a local nursery. I purchased numerous indoor plants and self-watering pots in good faith. They arrived within days in carefully sustainably recycled packaging, healthy and thriving; admired by family and friends. general advice. I have outdoor clay-like soil over granite rock exposed to direct sunlight & asked for advice regarding which types of plants, natives, trees, fruits and/or vegetables to plant under these conditions. Without hesitation they provided practical advice and I’m excited for my next project. Highly recommend Plants In A Box & grateful for their ongoing support. Claire
Hose parts – Very happy with the speedy delivery via Australia post , the product and the price. I don’t do many reviews but I feel I had to tell people about a good company. Show reply

Deceptive business practices – No. I would not recommend them. The organisation and ease of buying packs that are ready to go online was a real plus. The online videos and descriptions were helpful and easy to follow. I purchased a box for a gift and it was adored by the recipient. I usually hate buying flowers that just die, so this was right up my alley. A huge selling… Read more
point was that it being Australian made and owned.
When selecting items I found it difficult to find some information on the website like which pots would suit which water and emailed customer service. Their response time was insanely quick, with what I thought was relevant information.
When my order came one of the top covers was ripped and a bit old-looking compared to the rest, as well as the stakes we purchased are damaged at the bottom. This was very disappointing as it was a gift.
Additionally, I specifically asked advice as to whether the top covers should be used indoors (as I had clearly purchased the indoor cat friendly box). The sales assistant said yes they are good for indoor plants as well as they will keep cats off of the plant soil. This is not the case. The sales person simply lied to me.
I was exploited and convinced to purchase these extra items that literally have no purpose whatsoever on indoor plants. Not only do they have no purpose, they generate issues such as root rot, fungal infections and create breeding grounds for insects that damage your plants.
All of these plants were above a recommended retail price, which I was more than willing to pay because of the convenience, presentation and professional delivery of the items in terms of a gift. The advice and sales techniques leave much to be desired with now all my plants having been infected with mould, rot, insects and it being cheaper to literally throw them all out and buy new plants.
It was a waste of time. A waste of money. And absolutely unprofessional to simply push purchasing extra items and stating they perform a function in which they do the exact opposite. I in turn spent even more time and money trying to save these plants from a problem created by the advice of this business just for them to make some extra money on selling their plant covers and remediation items.
I will not be recommending this shop to anyone else. Honestly if I still had the details and receipts of the purchase I’d be demanding a refund. Never tell customers false information. Just say you don’t know and will get back to them. Otherwise it’s deceptive business practices.
I attempted to post this on their Facebook Reviews but they are moderated to reject negative reviews. I then looked for a google review, as I thought this would be the met best place to detail my experience and it seems there is no option for this either.

Best plant survival – Have purchased 3 lots of plants 2 lots of hedging and one mixed shrubs. All arrived in great condition in spite of the obviously rough treatment by Australia Post . No mortalities better performance than lots from local nurseries. Great customer service, excellent advice . Highly recommended provided YOU follow SIMPLE instructions .

when things go wrong. I'm reviewing because it was a first time online plant purchase, specimens were lovely and when I saw Australia post were delayed I thought they may arrive worse for wear and was incredibly grateful they didnt.
Highly recommended – I’m coming back for more plants. Thank you. This was a super efficient, fast service with quality plants - actually bigger than I expected so that was a bonus! Highly recommend!
Extremely happy! – I’m so happy with the service from plants in a box.Their service was absolutely fantastic, prompt, quick and extremely professional. I couldn’t remember exactly what I ordered and the 2 girls I got emails from, one being jade and another girl Debbie went above and beyond to find out, reorder me some more plants and even made my life even easier by invoicing me for a quick checkout. Well done girls I’m very impressed! Thanks soooo much!
The Box Is Better Than The Contents – I am extremely disappointed for the family members who trusted this company and heavily overpaid for our gift. I know they would be very upset if they knew how poor the quality of eveything was. Do not buy anything from this company unless you are into expensive polystyrene noodles and cardboard. The box is definitely better than the contents.

Very disappointed – After reading blurb about Plants in a box I placed an order for a string of hearts in a soft air recycled hanging basket at a cost of $89, this is what arrived …..how can they send out such pitiful plants Disgusting service do not use.

Shambolic and dodgy business – Plants in a box has a great social media presence but they will send you already dying plants. I have tried to contact them and they ghost you once you actually have a problem. Plants are very expensive considering they die. Do not purchase plants from them. You will just end up losing your money. They take your money then are complete ghosts. Don’t do it. You will regret it.
