Poorly constructed and poor communicaton – We had our home built with Plunkett and been living in it since 2017. Since living in it the house has settled. The house has settled and the normal cracks appeared, from where it has all settled. But now there are more than just cornices that have cracked. We have photos of the horizontal cracks in the middle of walls going away from windows… Read more

into rooms. Etc. The floorboards have also move vastly that now there are gaps Behind my fireplace there is a crack coming up from the floor vertically.

I reported this to Plunkett on the 22/07/22 and we did eventually have an assessor come out on the 27/08/22 who took photos and did an extensive report. He did also verbally say that it was poor workmanship. I have been chasing this report ever since and have had a reply of chasing the report and this was on the 06/10/22.

I was under the impression that all new builds were under a warranty for the first 7 years to repair any cracks etc for when the buildings have settled. I know that Defect are covered 12-24months but can be longer if needed. But I thought anything structural is up to 7 years. But they are claiming that they do no need to do this. Also, we have a water heater that has been on the blink for a good year on and off and so has our neighbours and the house were built around the same time. The Gas heater stopped the hot water coming out of the tap all together too. I just feel they the whole building is substandard. But of course when you first move in it looks great. I have now taken this to the consumers and also reported it to the Master Builders.

It shouldn't matter if you spend $200,000 on a home build or $2000.000 the building should still be built for the purpose it was meant for and not feel like in years to come sooner than later that the house is going to look shabby even with general maintenance. There is even an external block with a crack and not just a small one. The cooker that was fitted from day 1 has had an extremely noisy fan but we lived with that.

It is such a shame because the experience whilst selling the package and going through the prebuild was great and the people that looked after us at the time were very professional and helpful. But it feels like now that you have our money you really do not give a dam.

Plunkett have been Awesome – Working with Matt Poynton has been such an easy process. He went out of his way to help with land suggestions as i chose the design first. He understood with the design process, what look i was trying to achieve and came up with great suggestions. Peta my design consultant also was very in tune with what i wanted with the interior look. Hipper was my build supervisor and i couldn't have gotten any better. Every step of the way he kept me informed and offered suggestions on changing minor details, that worked better. I had some changes made during the build and he was only happy to follow through on them immediately. The final cost was on par with the estimated plus my extras that i added throughout.

Thanks to the whole Geraldton Plunkett Team who made the process smooth and stress free.

Couldn't be happier with our new Plunkett home – We have recently moved into our first home built by Plunkett. We had looked at a few different home designs and layouts and they were able to design our home the way we wanted. From start to finish, the whole team showed excellent customer service and completed our home well within the agreed time frame. I would definitely recommend any friends or family who are planning on building a new home to go and see the Plunkett team in Geraldton.  Show reply

Extremely happy with our new home! – Have recently built a home with Plunkett and it was a really great experience! Been first time builders we weren't sure what to expect but we set ourselves a budget and chose 2 house plans, and at our pre-build appointment were helped to re-arrange and mould both plans together to make the perfect home for us and within our budget. The worst builder i have ever come across – Apparently despite 100 years experience they use sub standard tradesmen\supervisors. I had a double brick home built by the company only to discover wooden stud frame walls because the bricklayers could not read a set of plans properly(so I was told by the supervisor). To top it off I had brick mortar joints on my face bricks up to 40mm wide (for… Read more

those that don't know that's 4 times more than what the Australian standards recommend) its a valyble lesson dont build with plunkett homes or any company from the JWH group they try and sweep a lot under the carpet hoping there long standing name will rope in more unsuspecting customers
