1 Frank  · Terrible service – Poor customer service, impossible to contact and reach the right department. Staff are unskilled
1 Shocked Shopper  · P&N Bank and lack of communication – There is no text or warning when going off line it is embarrassing and inconvenient to the customer.
2 James b  · Telephone messages – Terrible at returning calls. Some staff are great, others been there too long perhaps. Recommended to me by a broker.

I have changed my mortgage from Mebank to Police and Nurses, best move ever! I have put up with Mebank for the last 6 years falling apart. PN bank announced they are passing the full 2.5% intetest rate rise to all home loan customers, but only 1% rise to savings account like Savvy Saver. This is disgusting. occasions and has been extremely embarrassing for me even though I took the precaution , or so I thought, of advising P&N I was going to make a larger than normal transaction. Their excuse and I quote from their written response to my complaint "It is not possible to guarantee that a transaction will never be delayed or declined in the future as there are many potential triggers and risk factors assessed in real time". I would suggest a complete review of their online security system because I have NEVER experienced this before with any other financial institution. In my opinion this kind of action can potentially place a payer in breach of legal or contractual obligations through no fault of their own. I note from reading other reviews that I am not the only customer who has experienced this situation.

Follow-up  · As would be expected P&N are still arguing that its prime consideration is the protection of customers funds and that it will NOT guarantee funds clearance if P&N, or its payment security agent, Cuscal, a Sydney based company, considers the payment possibly fraudulent. I've have not experienced anything but great service and respect from P&N Bank. I can get cash when needed . My phone enquiries are short and accurate . Couldn't be happier with P&N – As a customer I felt compelled to write a review about P&N. marginally better rate but it wasn't even a consideration for me given how easy P&N are to deal with. I have been with P&N for slightly over a year now and every time I need to call them I get through quickly, always speak to someone who is very obviously based in Australia and they get straight to the point actioning any queries immediately with no fuss. I have dealt with all of the big banks at one time or another and several smaller banks and can honestly say I have never experienced customer service like it.

This P@N Bnk is a case of small boys wanting to play big boys games ever since they expanded away from just being a bank for Police and Nurses. I phoned - IT told me with no explanation and with ill grace to 'go into a branch' which I cannot do- I asked to speak to a manager and he refused nor did he state his name. He never mentioned as I learnt belatedly that a new members form could be submitted . He in surly fashion inferred it was the phone and took no account of us using identical phones> so not a phone issue , nor did he offer to check if my partners ID was recorded at your end. Indeed he recommended my partner start again knowing this would create a conflict with ID already verified. I phoned yet again and got through to someone dealing with such issues. I had spent a 1 hour and 40 minutes of my morning so far. Half way through she offered to put me 'on hold' whilst she belatedly checked my partners status. I had provided my member no and phone no as well as my partners as he had been sent a link at the onset. She then dropped the call....and didn't bother to call back on either phones ( she had my membership no). I then left three secure messages- all ignored of course.Luckily I had not transferred any money- I recommend anyone reading this to avoid this risk. If they can't offer service to newies, God knows what happens if you have issues as an investor....and I thought commercial banks were bad....

Worst customer service in history – In 2019 we got a loan, they first stuffed us around, by taking the monthly amount, fortnightly. Said oh we can not give the money back you will just be ahead. Fine. Fast forward fixed rate was running out in July 2022, so we decided to talk to someone about options. They ended up sending out a poor guy who only did new home loans, super helpful.… Read more

We then tried to contact customer service via email and was ignored. We really want to have it sorted before the end of the term, to get the house valued to drop our LMI. My partner went into the bank and was turned away stating they don't deal with that there, so to send an e-mail, which we had done. Finally when I placed a formal complaint someone got back to us and then there was another rate increase. I was not happy as they had wasted time, not me and they stated if I wanted someone to come out to value the house it would take a long time, so I settled for an online valuation, which came back low but enough to get rid of the LMI, so we went with it. Fast forward 2 years, I again put in an enquiry early to see if we could get our house valued and got a lady who got everything organised super quick, got valued at now owning 56 percent of the house so we wanted to borrow 10k to finish the Reno's, she said easy, to email her back end of June and she would sort it. So that roles around e-mail her back and get a on annual leave message, until the end of July near when the fixed rate was ending, so Forwarded my enquiry to the email provided. End up having someone get back to me that we had dealt with last time we did this. Now at first very responsive, then dwindled, but had personal stuff going on Fine. Had a Skype meeting on 22nd July and he was going to submit the paperwork that Thursday or Friday 26th and 27th July. I sent him everything he requested on the 23rd July. I thought I would hear back, but nothing. Now this Thursday will be three weeks since he was submitting. I emailed Friday to follow up after 2 weeks no reply. Honestly the customer service from this bank is horrific. I will be calling tomorrow to chase up and if nothing has been done submit another complaint.

They can't get the basics right – I had an account with P&N (Western Australia) and I was unaware that they had a "division" in QLD. After transferring all of my funds into my BCU account, my online banking and card access was blocked. I called and spoke to someone over the phone… Read more

who said "you can't have a P&N and BCU account at the same time". I asked if that was the reason why my online and card access was blocked and she said that she doesn't know why. She stated that she needed to refer it to higher up and I would receive a call the following day. I never received a call back so I contacted the bank again and I was told that they couldn't provide me with any information. So my funds are "stuck" in an account that I have no way to access. I haven't been able to pay bills, do grocery shopping or even put fuel in my car. As a fulltime Student making money is hard and with the cost of living every cent goes a long way. I can't trust a bank that can't get the basic things right.

Furthermore, I had issues with their pay&save feature not working correctly. Whilst with P&N I was charged over $10 for a visa debit card as well.

They brag about member owned banking is so much better than the big 4 banks but I never had this issue with any other financial institution. I decided to hand in my "notice of resignation of membership" and open an account with one of the big banks.

A disgrace to all the Police and Nurses – The worst bank I have ever dealt with in all four corners of this planet we call Earth. In 2021 , I unfortunately had no choice but to use PandN for my home mortgage as they were apparently the only bank that can service my circumstances back then as per the mortgage broker. It took 6 months to get my mortgage approved. It was a few months of… Read more

back and forth of them asking for updated payslips. As a result, I was slapped with a $15000 increase by my builder due to apparent costs of labour and materials increase. That was the first incident in which I easily forgave and forget

After a few months, I decided to close down my existing credit card with them as a pre requisite for a car loan im trying to push for. The darn bank took 1 month to send me a closure letter. I was like this cant be right.. Anyway, got the letter and moved on.

Soon enough interest rates started to climb back up and P&N have literally slapped me with increases almost every month and if not twice in a month. My mortgage started at 3.4ish and ended up at 5.5ish in a span of less than 6 months. I had no choice but to appeal and kindly enough they told me they can drop it to 4.1 at one stage but took them 2 months to get the rates formally changed which as a result was a bit too late for the 4 and instead they can offer me 4.9. I knew right then that somethings wrong and that I can no longer deal with these idiots so I decided to refinance.

Refinance now kicked. My new bank was ready to settle but was waiting on a final cost something document. I have two existing loans with two different banks. The other bank released the form I needed in a span of less than 24hrs. P&N being as slow as they are took 3 weeks to release the document I needed and as a result I had to pay 2 month of high interest mortgage from them.

Bottom line, we all deserve quality service for the hard earned money that we spend. Our money and these slow, incompetent banks should not exist. I have banked in a few countries and some of them are even 3rd world countries but sadly P&N is beyond comprehensive. They are a disgrace to the Police and Nurses.

I am currently happy with my bank, they provide well beyond support than my previous big 4 bank. Havent even had a rate increase in 3 months and counting at 4.7 rate. Couldnt be happier. Again , theres always something out there

currently doing a 2 grand cash back on loans and so I agreed as that way I could at least give something to my mortgage broke(they later informed me that I didn’t qualify as my loan wasn’t high enough). So after all the running around getting them all the paperwork they requested before my valuation period expired, I get a call from them saying I don’t qualify simply because my house is near power lines. I was absolutely livid, as if that was even a thing, I don’t see why that wasn’t asked in the beginning so I didn’t waste my time and money on a basically crap company that end up screwing you over so I would definitely not recommend p&n for a loan! Investment loan refinance - Happy with process – We recently refinanced 2 investment loans from another lender to P&N Bank. Also, for some odd reason they didn't issue both loan documents at the same time, but luckily our mortgage broker was able to chase that up within a couple of days.

We have banked with P&N for many years (as our secondary bank), but this is first time we have used them for home loans. We can't complain about their service and the rates on offer were one of the best in the market at the time for the products we wanted (and much better than our previous lender who we had been with for many years).

One issue we did have was to do with the insurance we had to have on the properties (we have always had to have insurance with other banks), but it was the way they calculated the amount of insurance we needed for one of the properties. We had to take insurance coverage significantly higher than replacement cost (if we are ever unfortunate to have to claim, we would never be able to claim the full insurance amount as it covers about 30% of the land value).

But overall, we are happy with the service provided by P&N Bank and the interest rate we obtained. We would recommend.

decided to refinance my home loans with another bank. P&N made it very hard for me to leave and appeared to delay replies/documents requested at every opportunity. I understand that they want to keep their customers, but even till the very end, they stuffed me for time by not releasing the discharge form to me even up to a point where they sent an with an email saying that my signature did not match what they had on file. As you know with each stage of "requirements" it takes time to go up their chain of processes and this was painful to say the lease. They also had a rule that they would only communicate with customers (me) and not my broker.

Throughout this time, the new bank that I wanted to go with had tried to contact P&N to book a settlement date and when they finally could do so, I ended up having to pay a higher interest rate for my home and investment home loans at the new bank because those came into effect due to the delays by P&N.

I have refinanced with other banks before, including bigger banks, and this experience with P&N was made out to be the most difficult by far, even my broker is surprised. I am now paying $110 more per month for my home and investment home loans with the new bank with the higher interest rate due to the delays caused by P&N.

So please beware about what you are getting into when you decide to take a home loan with P&N. If they had made it easier for me to leave this time, I may have considered them again in the future, but me and my broker would not consider them at all now.

explanation why I am still waiting for finance approval after 11 WEEKS!!! Is there any issue with my finance? Is there something I am doing wrong? I do not know, because P&N bank refuses to offer any explanation. I have tried calling them, and visited a branch, to get some info. I was told to expect a call, but they never bothered. My mortgage broker, who is equally frustrated and has vowed to never direct a client toward P&N bank again, has called P&N bank again today for an explanation, and was told by P&N bank to tell me "not to call again, as this will only further delay the process". To be told again after 11 weeks that they will escalate my case next week (for the 6th time) I give up and am withdrawing my application with P&N bank. Maybe they are always this bad, maybe they are deliberately delaying applications while interest rates are on the rise. Trust all these negative reviews and stay away from P&N Bank.
