I have funds in a term deposit I requested a transfer of “some” of the funds via secure email had it “confirmed” that my notification had been received and that the transfer would happen at end of business.
It didn’t happen and this is not the FIRST time this has happened it happened the last time and I was informed that it wouldn’t happen again but it keeps on ....
I like banking with them but ...
I have banked with them for over 6 years now and the staff our definitely 5 star.. unfortunately I am slightly disappointed with the fact I had to open another account with a big bank that could supply me with a swift code I needed.
Can't believe they couldn't provide a swift code for international transfers!
Also quite recently knocked me back for a simple 500 temporary increase on my credit card for a peddle conversion on my car for my slight disability.
I will be cutting my card up now, the power of & when your stuck is powerless it seems.
But I like the staff in my local branch so I will recommend them for this reason.
i wish i can give half star if possible
Im writing this letter to draw your attention and to respect the customer for a very disappointed incident that I personally experienced with your unprofessional bank. I’m very disappointed for what happened to my home loan process with your bank’s system management. So I raise this matter to a higher authority in here.;
This is what happened :
Our finance broker put us onto P&n bank to lend a home loan funds, and I'm wishing that I had never heard of these jokers. They were playing with me as your customer, like every time asking me to f...
Excellent service. The only bank I’ll deal with. Have had 2 home loans. Best bank. Ethical and excellent service.
The only bank that I’ll deal with.
Have had 2 home loans..... always ethical and provide excellent service.
My advice is give the big 4 banks a miss.
I’m very satisfied with P&N bank.
Great bank to deal with our home loan
They have the best interest rates and fantastic customer service. Looking forward to have more great experience with western australian bank. Waiting time reasonable. All applications processed in Australia. We like to support our local bank.
Ambiguous advice: Refinance home loan.
Absolutely disgraceful. Ive been with them for 20 years. I applied for a loan to pay out a credit card and consoldate some small debts. I asked for 10K. The loan was approved, but for more than 50K!! When I saw the amount I called them to stop the loan. They did. Then told me if i wanted to consolidate debt, i also had to refinance the home loan. Thats the way they did it. Ok. I went to the branch and was told not to apply again as it would probably be refused. I asked why? "Because the lending officer is not happy, and said you're an adult wh...o should know your own mind, so I doubt the application would be approved and advise against applying as it will affect your credit raring". I complained, but the answers to why a second application would be refused was never answered in a satisfactory explanation. Since then, I've had nothing but trouble. Absolutely would not recommend this bank. Horrible. Some staff are nice but the majority are quite snobbish and rude. Avoid the jokers like the plague.
Terrible service. DO NOT USE THEM!!
Our broker put us onto P&n bank, and I'm wishing that I had never heard of these jokers. They lied to us constantly saying "just get us this one document, and then you will be approved", this went on for 6 weeks, and still no decision. They were asking for the most irrelevant documents and had 3 letters from my employer confirming employment, but still needed another one. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a bank and I would never touch them with a ten foot barge pole. I ended up withdrawing our application out of sheer frustration and never ending requests for documents that we had already given them. Worst bank ever!!
Great personal service
My aunts partner passed away 5 years ago. As the executor of his estate she had a huge task - his estate was complex and fragmented. Both had been P&N members for many decades so she made the decision to open the estate account with them which proved to be a very wise decision. At the time there was no monthly fee (unlike the commonwealth who informed her their estate accounts were run as a business account - with fees accordingly!) and P&N fees for bank cheques were half that of the big 4. The staff at Joondalup, Innaloo and Perth branches...could not have been more helpful, and having known my aunt over many years of her visiting the branch, showed empathy, patience and kindness, none of which she received from the other institutions she had to deal with in the course of sorting out her partners financial affairs Having read some negative reviews on this site about security questions and not being able to easily access money from P&N, I felt I had to comment as these are the very reasons my aunt sticks with them. From her perspective the fact they always ask the same questions and require proof of identity whenever she visits the branch, despite many of the staff knowing and recognising her is very reassuring to her. If she can't just walk out with her money - then neither can a fraudster, and if giving 24/48 hours notice for the staff to be able to facilitate a large withdrawal then so be it. She was comforted to find out her money wasn't kept on site. This might not suit everyone, but for her, the personal service, familiarity and extra security is exactly why she chooses to stay with P&N rather than move to a bigger bank. After seeing how well she was treated with P&N I moved all my accounts and have nothing negative to say about them. Very happy I moved.
How can i thank the team at P and N bank
We have relocated to Qld and purchased a house. We needed to transfer money in a hurry, the technology was beyond me and time was not on our side. Amazingly, they all worked to get it done in time, recognising how stressful it was, even sending me some flowers and wishing me well the next day. I can never thank you enough, certainly won't be changing banks despite no branches over here yet!
Deceased estate runaround
A member of our family died in January 2019, intestate, and my husband handled his affairs as next of kin. The deceased had a very small savings account at P&N Mandurah into which his pension was paid and he had no other assets. One day after his death, my husband advised the bank of the death and organised a hold on the account. Once the death certificate was released my husband took it to P&N Mandurah and tried to close the account. He was given lots of misinformation from Mandurah and they appear to have no protocol for dealing with decease...d estates. We are still facing difficulties from head office in Perth trying to close the account and will now lodge a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman. The last thing you need when you're grieving the loas of a loved one is the hassle we are experiencing. We've had accounts, albeit small amounts of money, for over 40 years with P&N and this is the first time we've experienced problems
Poor service P&N Rockingham Branch
My wife and I attended the P&N Rockingham Branch this date to deposit two cheques into an account. After waiting for some time in a queue for service we finally got to speak to a staff member. When she heard one of the cheques was in $US she said, "I have no idea how to do that. You will have to see someone else."
She pointed to a waiting area and told us someone would attend to us in a 'few minutes.' After waiting a further ten minutes we said we would leave. We attended to other business and returned to the P&N office some 30-40 minutes la...ter. We spoke with another staff member who also said she couldn't handle our request and said we'd have to wait for another staff member who was currently busy with another customer. We just walked out in disgust. I've been a P&N member for over 40 years and am amazed at the level the bank has slipped in regard to customer service. Imagine going to a bank, to deposit a cheque into an account, and not finding anyone capable of handling such a simple transaction???
The best experience you are going to get from a bank
I have been a customer for nearly 20 years, and P&N Bank just keeps getting better in my opinion. Their app is fantastic, they always answer the phone/chat promptly, their staff are all fully trained and knowledgeable about every facet of the system which means you rarely get transferred to someone else. They offer insurance and home loan products that are the most competitive out there (I occasionally do a detailed comparison - I'm loyal, but not that loyal). They have even been known to ring me out of the blue to say we've found a way you can...save money / avoid fees, would you like to take advantage? They have branches and ATMs in all the places I go. What is there not to like? There is some room for improvement: they need a 24 emergency help line for people travelling overseas or even in Aus that suddenly have a problem with their account (like it has been blocked for some reason). And they could be much more imaginative when it comes to products and services for children - their future customers). But overall, outstanding.
Acting like a big Bank now. Member for 40 years!
Disillusioned now with P&N Bank. I have been with them since I was 17 yrs old, when it was originally Nurses Credit Society in Perth.
Unfortunately now, I am finding that fees are being taken from our Joint account without my knowledge and even when we are transferring $1500 per fortnight into this account. Seems very odd, and we have requested this to be looked into. We will fight these fees to the enth degree if this is not reimbursed. At this stage of our life, we don’t want to be charged fees for banking our own money. No loyalty show...

Never had a problem with P&N
We have been with them for 16 years. Only for everyday, savings and term deposits as everything we own is paid for. Contact with the bank in person, by phone or online is always pleasant. No need to spend much on fees, particularly for over 55’s.
Very poor commitment
I have been a member from when only nurses could join. Seen many changes, mostly good. But , when they changed the app. I can no longer use the service and have to wait until I was can get to a computer. Extremely inconvenient, have contacted them several times, but, get the feeling they couldn't care less
I have been attempting to refinance an investment property for nearly 3 months now, there are never ending requests for documents they have had in their possession for months, but can never find them.
Each time you call to ask why the status of the loan is, they say something else is missing, example one of the insurance policies expired 10 days ago, they need up dated one. That's ok but they had the documents 6 weeks before the insurance expired.
Another incident where by a redraw account opened but not activated for 3 months, when asked...why they say we didn't apply to activate it. If you apply for an account and they authorise it, doesn't that me its to be activated. Then when trying to activate it, they say they don't have our signatures on file??? we had to sign documents to open the account. Unbelievable service.
