longer manufactured. They still insisted me to accept their inferior product !!!! I said that full refund would be much appreciated and they agreed to full refund. Then another two days, I followed up again as they just didn't respond again, they said they just submitted in their account department (what account department??!!! , C'MON!!)

At the moment, waiting for 10 business days from PayPal to refund my money......

Sharp Fridge – We ordered a Sharp Fridge and after reading the previous reviews was a little concerned. I should not have been. The service I received was great, fridge delivered to QLD, no problems and competitive shipping costs. The fridge did have a dent, and we are now dealing with Sharp, and there has been no problems and the replacement door is on its way. Really great service, and extremely competitive pricing.

Value for money – I bought a massage cushion from price pirate when I was pregnant, and the price was better than other sites. My product arrived surprisingly early. The site was very easy to use and navigate, and check out was to the point. I would use them again and recommend price pirate to my friends. Cheap, reliable, on time.

Three days later and I am yet to receive prove of my refund. This should not be happening here in Australia. You cannot sell something you do not have stock and then keep buyers' money for weeks. I really don't know how they could be operated like this in Australia and still have not shut down after so many years.

What a waste of my time now that I have to go and file a complaint with Consumer Affairs.

The name is correct – I bought a digital radio from them. They sent an emailed saying it was no longer available and told me that they had one practically the same in stock. After looking at the specs and realising that the replacement was vastly different I requested a refund twice by email. After two weeks without hearing from them I rang them. They were extremely offhand but promised a refund. I'll see what happens.

disgruntled sales rep who answered the phone with a cold reception of just "sales"

i explained my situation and she just palmed me off to westinghouse grunting, while she gave me their phone number, that "she was just the middle man - not her problem - call westinghouse - you're out of warranty".

Westinghouse was extremely frustrating to deal with they told me that i had to pay $134 for someone just to come out to look at the oven!!! I called the accc to find out my rights as a consumer, they advised that price pirate were responsible to rectify this and that it was illegal for them to refer me to westinghouse.

So i called back price pirate and spoke to the another equally rude sales lady, i advised her of everything that had happened and that i had investigated my rights and i wanted to speak to a manager - she took my number and said that i would be contacted back by a manager...

I was finally contacted later that day by megan, who was quite nice and said that she was in contact with the westinghouse rep seeing what they could do and she would contact me back by the end of the day...

So i was not contacted back by the end of the day...I was contacted the next mid morning by megan who said she has spoken to the rep and she feels that it is more than fair that i have to pay 134 dollars for someone to come out to have a look at the oven (before anything is even done!!)

i was quite upset as i think it was extremely unfair, since it was just out of warranty, and in actual fact it was most likely within warranty because we didn't move into our house and start using the oven until at least 8 months after we purchased it!!

I explained all this and all the information i have been advised by the accc about my rights - to which megan's became dismissive, she started being short, rude and talking over me saying that it was fair...Then the most memorable comment, which enforced that i will never purchase anything from this website again was "you should be happy that you got two good years out of your oven without any problems" - ahhhh so my mother has had her oven without any issues for over 35 years! - ovens are not easy to remove or disposable items - kitchens are built around them!! So i do not feel happy that i got two good years out of my oven - i expected 10!!!!! I don't even use my oven that much maybe once twice a week if that!!

I said to megan so that's your business to sell cheap products that break just out of warranty? And she said they are not cheap products...To which i replied your right it wasn't cheap - i didn't pay 900 dollars to use my oven for two years and then be happy that i effectively paid 450 dollars per year to use it!!

Will not purchase again - these guys have no idea about customer service!!!

I rang the brand name store and they confirmed that they would be handling any warranty claims (should they arise)

So I certainly experienced 5 star service but I have deducted one because the brand name store does not sell the item I purchased !

Pirate by Name – How can you take an order, take the money and then claim typographical error as justification for a price increase. The extra they were trying to claim made it more expensive than their nearest competitor and they offered a cheap and nasty replacement at the same cost.

Stay Away – I bought I tefal Soup maker from them, emailed them weeks ago about a warranty issue as it is now broken and included my proof of purchase and have had no reply. I wish I had read all the reviews on here before I committed to purchasing such an expensive item from them. No repy to emails.

Worst Online Store Ever. Terrible Staff – These people are the pits. They debit you right away, then set about ignoring you, lying about availability and then lying about despatch. They argue on the phone and put you on hold forever when you demand a refund, you name it these people do it. Cyber fraud front for betta electrical. Do not buy from price pirate!! Worst staff I've ever encountered.

Very poor quality products – I purchased a DeLonghi benchtop oven from Price Pirate and the timer stopped working after about 1 month! One month!!! They replaced it with another DeLonghi oven that looked similar but was not the same and guess what, this one didn't even heat up from the first time I turned it on - the replacement for faulty goods was even more faulty!!! Extremely poor quality goods, not worth buying anything from these people at all.

hours. Still, this was insufficient for the job to be done. In the end, it remains a Price Pirate responsibility that this process goes smoothly.

· The delivery service did not have any lifting equipment. This is unprofessional and downright dangerous considering the weight of the package and will undoubtedly eventually undoubtedly result in damage to product and injury to delivery people.

· It took 23 days from order for the washing machine to be delivered. Regardless of whether it was on back-order, this is simply unacceptable. The reason why we selected your organisation was largely price. The delay more than negated all advantage in this respect because we were forced to utilise commercial washing facilities. The resultant cost was over $100. I am now aware I could purchase the same product from any number of organisations in Sydney and have same day delivery.

As a result of the above considerations, we cannot recommend your company to anybody. We acknowledge the washing machine was delivered working and undamaged. Service

Awaiting refund – I placed an order with price pirate for a washing machine which included cartage to regional queensland I then received an email saying they wanted another $170 for freight I told them to cancel the order and refund the money to my credit card that was early Thursday morning Iam still waiting for the refund I wonder how long I will have to wait.

Non delivery - poor service – I ordered, paid and then waited 2 weeks to find out they didnt have the product in the first place. I had to call to find out were it is only to discover it wasnt in stock and would be arriving soon. They obviously arent up to scratch. Wish I had read some of the other reviews first. they dont have what they sell.

Good Customer Service – My order was handled fast and efficiently. I was one item short on my delivery but i was assured this would be sorted and was even though the fault lay with the couriers. Fast Delivery, easy purchace – Was looking for a collectible scifi model kit (battlestar galactica viper mark 2), i looked on ebay, overseas etc etc and found all were too expensive or postage too high or didn't ship to Australia. Some of the best service i've had! – I'd usually go straight to overseas sites or ebay for most things- especially fragrances but Price Pirate were the most affordable and I received the item within 36 hours! spoke to someone who said it was out of stock and an old model. I asked straight away for a refund as I'd read these reviews, however the person I spoke to, [name removed], was really helpful and went searching for the item. She came back and said that the item had been discontinued but they could upgrade me to the newer model for the same price, and she'd courier it out ASAP. So [name removed] saved the day, but I have the horrible feeling that if I hadn't called, they would never have contacted me and I'd have paid over $800 for nothing to ever arrive.

Do not buy from here – I am stunned as to how these people havent been shut down yet. They falsely advertise goods for sale that they do not have in stock. I resorted to a complaint with consumer affairs and a police report because it is theft, taking money when they know they dont have the goods. Perhaps A current affair might be interested in this scoop?
