Dreadful service - used to be good once
When I enquired I was told 'a day or two for delivery from Sydney to Canberra district. I booked on that basis. Then after I booked they said three days. Then I'm told four days. Ah but wait, we actually the car will be delivered at 4:58 on Friday afternoon.
Depot hours? Can I sneak over and grab it before closing? No way! Hours are 8am to 10am!! You'll need to get it on Monday ... well thanks a heap. No apologies, no humility, not even the vaguest attempt to solve the issue. 'That's our hours'. They've gone a long long way down hill since I last used them
Remove your antenna!
My Ford Ranger 4x4 was recently moved interstate by Prixcar. During the acceptance check it was never brought to my attention that UHF antenna was to be removed, my car was accepted by Prixcar with myself being present for the entire process.
Unfortunately my antenna has been snapped whilst being cable tied to the bullbar, Prixcar deny resonsibility for the damage even though they were the ones that clearly did it. UHF antenna are to be removed prior to shipment or they will be snapped off with no liability for the damage to your property. You have been warned! Also a small amount of change was removed from the centre console and tools. Best advice would be to remove absolutely everything from your car prior to transport.
Very Happy with the service!
Very happy with the total experience for getting my car over from WA to VIC.
The dropping off process was easy and the car arrived 3 days before the due date.
The collection process was quick and easy. Very impressed
5 days early, car is perfect
Bought a car from Sydney, didn’t want to drive it myself all the way to Melbourne. Prixcar picked up our car when we sold it few months ago, so booked them without even checking the reviews. They gave us a timeline, which was a bit long, my hubby started getting nervous. I went and checked reviews and was about to cancel the whole move. Was worried for nothing: they delivered it 5 days early, car is in the same condition as we saw it, was getting updates on the delivery regularly.
Doesn’t work out perfect for everyone, but I think more people with good experience should write the reviews for them.
Had a vehicle transported from Melbourne to Brisbane. Car arrived early and absolutely no issues. Communication along the trip was great.
Would recommend and would definitely use this company again.
Stay away from PRIXCAR. Horrible experience. Damaged car. Flattened battery
First: the car did arrive. So I am grateful for that. The tracking was also quite good!!! The issues I have as a receiver of the car:
- flat battery (car was working perfectly as per multiple video calls with the sender)
- broken sun visor on drivers side
- cigarette debris in the back and the front of car and in the centre console (no one should be sitting in the back for a car transport)
- brand new, medium sized scratch on the drivers door
- pimple/dent on the drivers side rear door
- stone chip on the windscreen (expensive to fix due to ra...
Why so long??
Don’t bother with this company (Prixcar or Ceva) or similar for land based car transport domestically. I’ve used ship/sea borne vehicle transport as well in the past, and I can honestly say that this is and will be my preferred method of transporting cars around Australia from now on. Previous vehicle I had transported from Hobart to Perth with Prixcar, ended up with paint scraps all along the front spoiler & front left hand wheel gutter rash.
Actual Example - Land transport - Prixcar quote 34 days (Brisbane to Perth) cost $1800
Ship/sea transport - (Dazmac etc..) quote 11 days (Brisbane to Perth) cost $1100.
Dont be scared to use this company
I checked out so many car transport companies to get my car from Perth to Tasmania. Couldn't find any company with good reviews. Bit the bullet and these guys were really good. Car arrived 12 days ahead of time. No damage at all. I had to ring the centralised Melbourne customer service number a few times and, although I had to wait to get through, they were fantastic. When arriving at Perth Airport Depot, I thought I could speak to someone in the office on arrival but there is a security gate and you park out the front. My only 2 negative...s were: It wouldn't hurt the non-verbal guy that came out of the security area at Perth Depot to check over the car to let you know what he is doing - I was also asked to sign the electronic unit he was marking any scratches/dents on the car with, outside (in bright sunlight) and you couldnt read it well. My plan was to check everything closely but unfortunately I was waiting for a taxi to the airport which arrived and felt obliged to sign it (yes, I know!). My 2nd issue was I rang after I had no tracking advise that my car had left Perth Depot after a week. Suddenly, it was on the train within a few days - prompting doesnt hurt. Overall, very happy with the service. Be polite to the Call Centre - they were all very helpful!
Car transport never arrived, zero effort to start transport until complaints lodged
Lied to about delivery time and told to be home await delivery that never took place, or had even been started
Three weeks later than quoted arrival time
Poor customer service
Won't accept liability for damage to my car
The company refuses to accept liability for a massive windscreen crack that occured during transit.
They allege was preexisiting damage, despite a photo taken when the car was collected with their employee in the photo, plainly demonstrating there was no crack or chip in the windscreen in the relevant location.
Took approx 10 days to respond to my email despite numerous calls and emails and this being our only car. Told us not to get a repair untill they did an 'investigation' meaning I have had to drive the car which is likely unsafe.
Very unhelpful and hard to contact.
Would not use again
Fine, except when you need to talk to them
Car was collected about 30 minutes after their collection window. Driver coerced us into signing off on the car condition (we weren't shown the condition form). On arrival at the destination city, we were called by 2 different blokes to collect the car, but told we needed to contact Prixcar with the delivery address. 25 minutes on the phone later, I was told that they couldn't take the new address since I had called from a different number to the booking (I changed phones in the months during our move). I then had to contact our removalist to have them update the delivery address.
Left my vehicle in Queensland due to border closures and flew home. Read all the reviews on car transport companies and was very worried. Booked with Prix Cars as thought at the time were the best of a bad lot. My daughter dropped my vehicle at their Brisbane depot on a Tuesday just after New Year and phoned to say the depot was well secured and the trucks looked spotless and well maintained. I needed the vehicle in Adelaide within a week and there are no promises made but said they would do their best. My vehicle arrived at their Wingfield dep...ot the following Friday morning in perfect condition. Couldn't have driven it here that quick myself. Price was excellent comparing flight, accommodation and driving it back at a later day. Would highly recommend this company. They were all friendly, honest and reliable.
Would use again and again
Was a bit worried with all the reviews of other third parties. This is a company that has the end to end responsibility of your booking and car. Took 7 days to get from Adelaide to sydney over a weekend and public holiday. Outstanding and great value.
Moved a car from Perth to Brisbane. Car worked fine when collected by them. Upon delivery to Brisbane the power steering no longer worked. Company refused to claim responsibility, costing me $1600 to repair. Would advise not to use this company. Terrible customer service and damaged our car.
I agree with other reviews on here that I also experienced and so I will make this short...
Car arrived after 18 days from Qld to Vic with interior damage to the drivers door. Car has been kept pristine since new and was delivered with what appears to be grease scuff marks on the felt and a cut to the drivers side elbow rest.
Because my father received the vehicle as I couldn’t be there that day, after meticulously screening the outside of the vehicle he signed off on the condition report...
It wasn’t until I arrived home from being away at wor...
Ridiculous delivery time
Over 23 days estimate to deliver my vehicle and calling their number gets no answer. I just hope my vehicle actually arrives. Seems their standard service from other reviews unfortunately.
If it was possible to give zero stars, that’s what they’d get from me!
Arranged for two cars to be transported from regional Victoria to regional Queensland. I originally chose this company because they had cheaper deals and seemed to have good reviews on their website. Don’t trust those! Obviously propaganda! The first car didn’t get picked up on the date I had arranged for so I rang them and they informed me it would be collected the following day. I wasn’t too pleased but the timing wasn’t critical for this car. It’s my second car which has been the issue. I need it to be picked up on the date I selected as I h...ave to fly out from Victoria the following day and can’t be there to meet them. I told them this weeks in advance and was told to ring back because it was too early to tell whether they would be able to guarantee pick up for this vehicle. Fast forward to today and I was told this morning that they would contact the driver and see whether they could make this work. I received no word back, despite being promised that I would receive a call today. I waited until 3pm (a total of 6 hours since I first contacted them) and then decided to ring back. After being put on hold again (for another 20 mins), I was told that the driver “may be able to come there, but he couldn’t guarantee it and may get there a week later”. I believe this is unacceptable. Not to mention the fact that every person I’ve dealt with from Prixcar has been incredibly unprofessional. I’ve now had to make alternative arrangements and leave my car in Melbourne with family friends. I was also flat out told that I would not receive any refund for the difference in pricing, even though I never even enquired about this to begin with as I was unaware of the price difference. To top it all off, I was told that their inability to guarantee a pick up date for regional areas was mentioned in their terms and conditions. I have read over this and can confirm this is not the case. Rather what they do is take your money once you’ve booked and send a confirmation of this booking the following day saying in the email that they can’t guarantee pick up dates. So now I’m locked in and can’t back out because otherwise I have to pay them a cancellation fee. Very sneaky and not at all the way to build customer loyalty. I highly recommend staying away from this company! Choose another one! I haven’t received my vehicles yet but am crossing my fingers in the hopes that the cars actually arrive safely. After reading all these negative reviews now, I seriously wonder how this company is still functioning. They deserve to be held accountable for their unprofessional attitudes and downright awful service.
Just Hope The Car Comes In One Piece
$1300 to have my brand new $45,000 car sit in a loading dock for 2 weeks! no emails or calls/ texts about it, tracking number doesn’t work. ring them and you’ll be put on hold for 30 minutes just for them to say it’s going to be delivered when it gets there. i brought my car from Hendra qld and it’s being delivered to Andergrove qld, i don’t mind waiting for the car but to have it sitting there and not a word about it or an update makes me so frustrated! i understand mistakes or something doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to but for no words in 2 weeks!? just hoping the car comes in 1 piece!
Very fast but poor customer service
Sent my car from Brisbane to Melbourne and was delivered to the Melbourne depot within 3 days! Car had no signs of damage and all my goods in the car were untouched.
The people at both the Brisbane and Melbourne depot were unfriendly and it was obvious that they did not enjoy being there which lowers this to a 4 star review.
Do not use this company
Car arrived with fuel flap missing off it, was told over the phone not to worry as it will get taken care of as it was on the vehicle when it was collected.
After making me supply them with information they already had (car details, delivery dockets and photos) they decided they would no longer accept liability and referred me to their terms and conditions which basically allow them to deliver a car in any condition while wiping their hands of any responsibility.
The car is one of only 15 cars this colour in the country so it is going to be a t...

When booking door to door service (interstate transport) melbourne to adelaide. Does Prixcar pick up your car and put it on a trailer, truck? From the dealership Before it goes to their depot or do they just drive your car to their nearest depot? And then put on the truck/trailer for transport

If I am transporting a 65k luxury vehicle which is near new and being sold to me unregistered. Will the transport company be liable for damage caused to my car or do I have to take out my own transit insurance?
I had my car moved from Perth to Brisbane and I took out my own insurance. Got covered by RACQ.
