Great machine – hi ive had a pronto me 712 for many years now and think i have made in excess of 7000 coffees and only had a few small issues with it and one of the problems was when it was making a coffee it would get half way through compressing then it would dump into the waste bin. adjuster as it had broken off the stopper on adjustment and was putting to many beans into get ground so when it was compressing the mixture it was stalling and dumping into the waste. I fixed the issue so it could only select to number 3 and havent had any problems since. I find it as a very good machine that gives a very consistant coffee everytime.
Very Bad Experience – Serious problems with machine after 2 days.. no help & run around so much. Sent machine back. More chasing around. Got machine back 1 day and same thing. Was not fixed just unlocked. Repair person lied. I purchased machine 2 July it is now 18 Aug. In that time I had a total of 3 days used. REFUND. The coffee stopped half way through filling the cup.
2. The horizontal line was flashing to empty the dredge.
3. I opened the side door to get the dredge draw out and noticed that it would not slide as part of the Brew component had slipped down preventing the sliding of the draw. I was able to tilt the draw and remove it. It had 4 coffee discs in it. I empty it and cleaned it and put it back in by tilting it. I closed the side door.
4. Then the vertical light flashed to say you need to clean the Brew component. I thought this very strange as it is only 2 days old.
5. I tried to remove the Brew component as per the instructions in the manual and the handle came off.
It came back yesterday, 17 Aug 2018 and it had been gone for 3 wks. I noticed immediately that it had not been repaired but just unlocked. I phoned Pronto and was told that the repair person told them that the handle was on when he put it back in the box. I sent photo and told her the person I was speaking to 4 wks. ago had been provided with photo of the brew unit without handle. The brew unit in the machine had not been replaced just unlocked. Again photo sent. Then it stopped working again after 4 coffees. So the repair man lied. Did nothing other than unlocking it.
Sent them email today with photo and advised Pronto nothing they can do for me now as after nearly 2 mths of this I want a REFUND. Will advise what will happen next. Do not trust the product of the Company.
September 5th 2018 Update: Update on my previous post/review of this machine.
The machine came back from Pronto on 17 August supposedly repaired. It was not repaired and the repair man lied. All he did was unlock a faulty brew unit. Phone calls and photos sent to Pronto. The machine was picked up on 20 August and delivered back to Pronto on 21 July. I did not hear anything from them and phoned Pronto on 28 July. Confirming they received my letter and email requesting a refund. I was told that the machine was currently being tested and I would not be getting a refund. I purchased this machine on 2 July. I now have no machine or refund. Matter in the hands of Fair Trading and my financial institution to be resolved.

Frequent refilling of water reservoir can be tedious despite its clever design
LCD menu allows some control over coffee strength, temperature and quantities of brew.
It is quieter and faster than the Delonghi Magnifica plus its more compact. Price is about the same, and customer service is OK.
Grinder is adjustable and provides a good powder for brewing.
Overall a performer, but more work is needed on design and operation

identical coffee as the ME712 or equivalent models. I have seen and used much more expensive machines and they are all the same. Go to Harvey Norman and check out their prices and what those machines do. Unless your paying around $2K with the built in milk jug most are identical. - and check out the prices of the extra jug. On this unit, I just heat milk in a mug then chuck it in the dishwasher. It's easy. As I said, I have written a reply which has good tips for a great latte.
Remember, these eBay shops are selling thousands of these units so a few negatives don't add up to a bad machine They were great and I am very happy with the machine. The Merol is sold under two other brand names so they have to be fairly good for other companies to put their name on it.
If you love latte's, you'll love the ME712.
One more tip, buy take away cups and you'll enjoy cafe quality coffee everyday on your way to work.
Don't for forget the choc and tiny sprinkle of sugar on the froth. Yummo! Accurate delivery of beans strength and coffee amount every time. It has a digital measure for it's coffee delivery and it's alway identical in each serve. It has touch screen and is very easy to clean. Just pull the spout off and rinse. I have the black unit. It looks great. Nothing is wrong and it's no big deal, but I would have like to be able to measure the amount of time the steam function runs for. What happens now is I just have to re-press the steam button 2 or 3 times to heat up cold milk.
Good hardware, but – The machine operates efficiently, and produces a good cup of coffee. However, there are a couple of major weaknesses. The main problem is the User Manual, which is just plain appalling. Illustrations are so poorly reproduced that the key element (such as a symbol on the screen) is virtually invisible, and therefore do not draw any attention to the point being made.
There are lots of attempts at safety warnings, but almost nothing on what people actually want to do - make coffee! No specifics on how to prepare Espresso, Capuccino, Flat White or Macchiato.
Error conditions are not spelt out or explained. The user is left to find all these things himself.
An accompanying page from Pronto (not part of the actual User Manual) warns that, if the machine is turned off at the power point, this may "blow the LED Screen". So what happens if there is a blackout or power failure? Makes good coffee; competitively priced User-friendliness terrible, due to inaccurate and inadequate manual

The milk frother temperature is warm not boiling hot so if your a cappuccino drinker then the coffee water temperature is set at 90 degrees however the milk appears to reach 55 degrees.
The questions I had were all answered by pronto and I feel that for the price it's a reliable machine.
The coffe tastes good and the machine is easy to operate the icons are all on the screen and you just need to press the icon to make your coffee.
It's easy to clean because the waste bin symbol appears on the screen when cleaning is required.

Worst Customer Service – They take your money for a coffee machine they don't have. And don't tell you until you ask where the coffee machine is. They say, "A new shipment is expected to arrive mid-September. Were you happy for us to place your order on hold?" Worse customer service – Purchased Pronto Presto Coffee Machine in December 2016 and now the milk frother on the machine isn't working. It doesn't heat the milk and doesn't froth. After sending two emails and getting through to this company after 8 phone calls, we were told we would get a call back today. No one called back. Good machine – Not terribly easy to clean, however a nice addition to the kitchen. A little bit slow to load/heat. Coffee occasionally gets a very bitter taste if machine is. It cleaned after every 2/3 cups of coffee. For the price bracket it is a very good purchase. Doesn't scratch easily. Thanks! Show details

Waste of money – This machine is really junk.it work for two months only.When i tried to get back to the support team, they played game with me and never fixed it or replaced it . no warranty, no responsibility,no respect,no solution ever.Don't trust. Do not waste your money – coffee strength is different every time. Very messy, spits coffee grounds everywhere that went mouldy all through the machine. After two months and only 250 cups it is now jammed and wont work at all. Very noisy. Can't use if anyone is still sleeping. Very disappointed to have wasted my money. Well now buy a proper machine.
This machine is junk – It cannot make a hot coffee, cappuchinos, lattes, are only lukewarm and after trying fixes recomended by other users have given up. Machine would be ok at the pricepoint, as long as you realise it is poorly designed and manufactured. Its a throwaway item if it breaks, not worth repairing.
5285 Coffees Made and Still Going Strong – Just imagine buying 5285 coffees at about $3 each.that's nearly $16000 !!!! what all the complaints are about. Sounds more like BUYERS REMORSE than genuine issues.
This machine needs only Water and Coffee to be added. Once a week l unclip the Brewer and flush it out with water. I vacuum the inside area to pick up loose coffee. Show the Machine some care and it will never let you down.
As for us, we love our machine. we love each of our 5285 coffees and we love the fact we saved THOUSANDS in coffee even more.

Terrible quality – I purchased one of the pronto coffee machines and after two months it just stopped working. Then when I got in touch with the company for repairs or a new machine they told me to post it to their repair centre at my expense which costs over $250! it is ridiculous considering it was only used a handful of times and was well within warranty. Not to mention the quality of the the machine wasn't great and it was very noisy!
Waste of Money – Just received the Pronto coffee machine. Not working properly, and dispose of the coffee powder before the coffee is made. Tried for 1 hour to make a coffee but the coffee powder getting being dumped in the dreg draw. Wasted 250 grams of coffee powder and still no coffee. Bad quality. Very noisy.
Great value for money – I've Had my machine for 3 years and the cup counter shows I've made 8,000 coffee's can't go wrong I am happy with the product its great value for money. In regards to parts I have purchased a new milk frothing pipe which was $15 so parts are not expensive either! They are Australian based so if anyone needs parts go to their website I made contact this way and had no problems getting help.

It is now June 29th and I am still being told I need to be patient. I have requested a new machine or my money back to no avail. I would recommend that no one purchase from this company. Nice looking machine that makes great coffee. Either I received a lemon or the machine is poorly made. It broke twice in less than a year. The company has the worst customer service I have ever experience.
Bad product bad service – My machine jammed after 1 coffee, asked for replacement but pronto insisted I get a screwdriver out & pull the machine apart myself - serious! Spare Parts – Nobody can tell me how to get a spare hose for this machine. The factory in China can do it, $1.65 for the hose + $ 42.00 in transport and an other $40.00 odd dollars in exchange rate. Waste of money – The milk wand does not froth or heat the milk. The grinder is cheap plastic. Pronto ME 712 – We have had the Pronto ME 712 Coffee Machine now for nearly 1 year and we love it....it makes a great coffee and is easy to use. We previously had a Delonghi and the Pronto Coffee Machine is just as good, if not BETTER!! Automatic Timer functions is user friendly that it can pre-set at my wake up time in weekday. So i can make good coffee very quickly before I work. I even call up the customer service which is helpful & buy some coffee beans from them. Fast shipping, inexpensive, easy to use
