I had too much to drink and peed the bed 2 years into a ten year warranty. I am a grown man and can admit it. It happens.... It went straight through the protector and saturated the mattress. I contacted withing the three day period (peed the bed Saturday night, called them Monday) They sent out a specialist cleaner 7 days later "As a gesture of… Read more
good faith" Like what. It's a ten year guarantee. Unlike what the website states, there is zero warranty on getting your mattress pillow top replaced. I was told it failed because I did not wash it every 30 days...... Common sense would say the less you wash synthetics, the better.
I guarantee if you buy this product and wash it 120 times, aka once a month for 10 years, it will be in shreds.
They are full of crap

Hello Tony,
Again, thank you for your positive feedback and kind words.
After careful consideration, and taking into account all factors of the incident resulting in your mattress protector failure, we have made the decision to not proceed further with your claim and deem it closed.
This decision is based on, initial contact from you on November 10th 2025, and the disclosure of care not meeting terms and conditions of warranty, along with the delays in contact, resulting in the cleaning of your mattress.
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity of our products and our care instructions outline that the mattress protector should be washed at least once per month. In this situation, the failure of the protector is considered a result of care instructions not followed, and unfortunately, it falls outside the terms and conditions of warranty.
The outcome in your claim resulted in a gesture of good will replacement and clean as these terms were not met.
Please rest assured, your mattress is 100% sanitised and cleaned.
Kind regards,

Absolutely terrible quality. Bought from Harver Norman 18 months ago and put through a wash today and its falling apart. The plastic underside has completed shredded and white bits EVERYWHERE. this was not cheap so very disappointing. There were also white bits all over mattress so it wasnt just from being washed. Terrible – We have had multiple and this specific brand cracks and falls apart the company is ignoring all attempts for warranty and is not responding in any way we purchased another one but returned it because I am not going to support a company that doesn't have any customer service or care to respond to their warranty with an email phone call or in anyway… Read more
for that matter that's terrible customer service a ridiculously expensive product that is just trash thats bad business and they will never get ours again

It I does not work and they do not honour their warranty – Purchased from Harvey Norman with the promise that it would protect the mattress for 10 years and if withing this time any liquids went through they would replace the mattress. When it did they denied the claim because they think I did not wash it enough times. I will never buy their product again as it does not do what it claims to do on every level Show details
A Surprisingly Good Quality and Comfortable Mattress Protector – My 4 year old daughter had her very first sleepover and this protector arrived just in time. It fitted perfectly well on her Queen Bed and prevented spills (water bottle leak they had on that night) from seeping through the mattress. The protector was surprisingly comfortable to sleep in considering it has a protective plastic film on one side.… Read more
As it is cotton on the other side and when you add another layer of proper fitted sheet on top of it, the mattress wasn't making any noise that night (the girls were moving a lot in their sleep).
This protector appealed to me as my daughter has skin allergies (eczema, hayfever related) and also suffers from idiopathic urticaria. To have a protector that has an anti-allergens feature was definitely an added bonus.
Better than expected! – When I first received the mattress protector I was a little dubious especially when I noticed the underside was plasticky. My partner is a sweaty sleeper and I just thought this would probably make him sweat more. However this was certainly not the case. I have been trialling the mattress protector for about a week and in that week I have had to… Read more
wash and dry it twice thanks to my 3 year old son having a little accident in our bed. I love how easy it is to wash and dry, and that it fits so easily over our thick mattress. It certainly doesn’t move around as mentioned in other reviews. The only negative comment I have is that after the second wash I noticed the stitching has unravelled approx 5cm in length. Apart from that it’s comfortable with just the right amount of padding and I love that it does what it says! Protects the bed especially with a little one and their little accidents!
- +1
High Quality Mattress Protector – I’ve had the mattress protector on my Queen size bed, and have been sleeping on it, for a week. Observations so far: Appearance: Looks to be of a high quality. Material is thick, stitching on seams is strong. The waterproof backing isn’t that cheap shiny plasticy material that many other protectors have. Care: Before putting it on the bed I… Read more
washed and dried it in the washer drier, as per the manufacturers instructions. It is great that the protector can be washed at 60 degrees, and tumble dried, especially in winter. I have others that need to be air dried which is a pain. I intend to wash/dry once per month (which is more than enough) and dry at medium temperature - which will ensure the longevity of the protector.
Comfort: The protector is soft and also is quite thick so it provides a small amount of additional padding to the bed.
Health: One great benefit is that it blocks dust mites and allergens, which I’m allergic to.
Sizing: I have a Queen mattress with a regular depth and I had no issues with the mattress protector moving out of place. It is worth noting that the protector has an expandable depth to suit mattresses of varying depth. This meant that for my mattress there was a small amount of extra material, which I just tucked under the mattress. For those stating that the protector moved around on the bed, I’m not sure how that would happen. I use a correctly sized fitted sheet on top and it didn’t move for me.
I would recommend this mattress protector and I would purchase it again.
Sleeping on a cloud – Such great quality and perfect for our king bed. I really loved how soft it felt on top layer and we could notice even with the sheets on. Easy to clean, dries quick. Would definitely recommend!
Positive reviews
Very Comfy – I have the mattress protector for my king bed. I have found it to be very generously sized. It is extremely comfortable to sleep on and not noisy at all considering the plastic underside. However one drawback is because of the plastic underside it does tend to slip over the mattress and bunch up taking the fitted sheet with it. This is easily remedied the next morning though. Great quailty and good fit – Great quality mattress protector and fits our king bed well. Love that it's able to go in the dryer, as with young children we are very time poor!
Good fit and comfortable – I found this mattress protector to fit my queen size mattress really well. No overhang like some others I have tried. It was comfortable and I think did a great job in protecting my mattress. Would definitely buy another size for my childrens beds. Show details
Negative reviews
Terrible, not even one star!! – We were forced into this topper from Forty Winks as we purchased a new bed. I’m not a review writer however annoyed and completely agree with all other negative reviews I read on this product, wish I read prior to purchase. It’s terrible, it constantly moves and bunches up underneath and takes the fitted top sheet with it! Not even 6 months in… Read more
and taken it off. The plastic waterproof feels awful also under (just like plastic!!) and takes away from the plush topper on the bed. I strongly recommend try another brand, I know we have Sheridan in the past and never had an issue so will be going back to a new Sheridan or similar quality and price point. Pretty annoyed also as we paid about $140 for it. I’d probably say might be appropriate for someone who regularly wets the bed, or a nursing home environment, might deliver its promise in mattress protection but it’s just horrible how it constantly moves and bunches each night! Forty Winks should also remove these from their shelves given the amount of bad reviews.
Terrible loose fit! – The mattress protector is all loose and bunching up on our new mattress, so we have not been using it. It makes sleeping impossible as you can not sleep on an even surface. I would not recommend this protector and the price is very expensive for poor quality. Show details

Product isn't as stated – Purchased their "elite" pillow protectors which they claim to be waterproof. When they failed and I contacted Sleep Corp, I was informed they were only guaranteed against dribble, sweat and light spillages. That is not what the definition of waterproof is! This resulted in a brand new ($249) pillow getting wet (incontinence). Half the pillow was… Read more
wet and it's one that cannot be washed. The protectorbed rep suggested lemon juice or bicarb to clean it. Unbelievable! They should not be claiming their pillow protectors as being waterproof. I left a review for the product on their page but they did not approve it. Great to know they only allow positive feedback for their items (not). Totally misleading! I won't buy from them again

Great product – The waterproof protector is a nicely made product and well fitted on the bed. It surprisingly is comfortable to sleep on and isn’t noisy at all!
Works as described – The mattress protector fits well and is comfortable under the sheets. I like that it's waterproof and being able to go in the tumble dryer is perfect with young kids and the various accidents they bring! Show details
Good Quality Mattress Protector – We've been using this mattress protector on a pillow topped mattress for over a week and it seems to fit really well and do the job it needs to. As some of the other reviews state it does tend to bunch up a bit by the morning, but it's easily straightened out when making the bed so it really wasn't an issue for us. because I like to use cotton or bamboo sheets for breathability. I really love that this mattress protector can go in the tumble dryer. It makes getting it back on the bed clean and dry so much easier (especially when the weather is wet and line drying isn't an option). I've washed and dried it already without any issues so this is a big plus for me. If your budget allows, I would recommend the Protect-a-Bed Quilted Cotton Mattress Protector.
Good Quality Mattress Protector – Ive had the mattress protector for over a week now and I am happy with it so far. I liked that it fit my bed well, even over my mattress topper as usually I find protectors slip off. The protector feels soft, while it also feels like it will do its purpose to protect as one side has a film on it.
Protecting the mattress and my sleep – I had been using a cheap plastic backed mattress protector for those nights when one of my boys decides to join and has an accident. This is a much better alternative as it is very comfortable whilst also having the plastic backing to protect the mattress. A much better nights sleep all round.
Easy to clean and peace of mind! – It’s a great fit on our king bed with long sides to fit our mattress, does have a plastic feel under layer but a cotton top layer for comfort. It’s easy to clean and dry as it’s washing machine and dryer safe. Gives me peace of mind when kids jump in our bed at night if they have an accident!
Thick and waterproof – I bought this mattress protector for my king bed because my husband is a sweaty sleeper. Our old protector was very thin and due for a replacement. This protector is much thicker however the waterproof layer is a bit plasticky. I was worried it wouldn’t feel nice to sleep on but it seems ok so far. Fit for a king bed is good.
Good product, soft, and most important waterproof – Used for my 4 year olds bed he has a queen bed and occasionally wets through his pull up nappy at night somehow wetting the whole bed. Having a waterproof protective barrier is so helpful as I spent a fortune buying a Bissell spot cleaner as he would soak the mattress (expensive mattress). This protect a bed protector is great. I have the same… Read more
brand one but It's a thinner terry towel material. This offers a softer cover and love that it has the viral allergen protection as my son has severe eczema this is important to us.

This is perfect if you want to spend a whole day in your room cleaning white flakes from this product – Washed the protector as per instructed and white flakes start falling off from this product. Further realized that this is not because of the washing as I went back to the bed (while the protector is being dried under the shade) and realized that all the pillows, duvet and bedsheet I put on top of the bed are covered in white flakes (when I… Read more
flipped them over). Washed all of the covers and they are stuck on them. Use the drier (since they have the filter and I was hoping that the white flakes would trap them) and it's not working. I ended up using a vacuum cleaner with the vacuum head for pet hairs to slowly remove them.
I further have to vacuum the bed itself, wait for an hour or so until the white flakes settle down on my room and then vacuum the whole room.
THANK YOU ... . Do not buy this product.
Misleading warranty and poor quality – 1 year within mattress protector purchase - ink pen leaked through mattress protector and onto the mattress and stained $3000 mattress. We got a replacement mattress protector that time at no cost. New mattress protector started flaking after 3 years of use. Contacted the company for 5 year warranty which is advertised - was told that once already… Read more
replaced under 'good will' so no further warranty claims can be made. I believe each item/mattress protector should be covered with own 5 year warranty as advertised. Will try another brand for mattress protector now as not happy.
Waste of money – Only 2 years old. $3,000 mattress ruined. It has deteroated and leaks. So in the bin it go's. Would not recommend at all. You would think the bed shop would not recommend them if they were bad but they do anyway. So disappointed. Show details
We are Fans!! – They gave us this mattress protector when we bought our expensive king koil bed (around three years ago). We love it. I wash it every two months or so, it fits so snuggly on the bed and its quite discreet as well you can still feel the plushness of your mattress. We loved it so much that we just ordered another one for my sons new queen size bed we just bought him an Art and Science bed. Show details
Unsatisfactory – I was bullied into buying the Protect-a-Bed Ultimate mattress protector when I purchased a Sealy Crown Jewel bed from Harvey Norman (a double disaster). Because I didn't need a new protector I didn't use it for the first time until December 2018. I found that the side wall of the protector is much too long for a deep mattress wall and that the… Read more
elastic is too weak to hold it in place. Consequently, the elastic works it way to the bottom edge of the mattress, the side wall works up the side of the mattress and the surface of the protector wrinkles and scrunches. This results in an uncomfortable surface to sleep on.
Secondly, the protector is much too hot for Sydney's sultry summers.
2 failures and warrently is misleading – We purchased a Signature Series mattress protector with our new mattress a couple of years ago, having been told by the mattress retailer that it has a 10 year guarantee and if there is a stain at the end of 10 years they will replace your mattress. Not only is that completely false, Protect-a-bed's warranty is 10 years, or until the 1st failure.… Read more
The protector failed badly after approx 1 year. They sent me a new protector and arranged to have the mattress cleaned (after some chasing up). The stains could not be removed however I didn't think it was a big deal as I had a new protector and would worry if something else happened, therefore I didn't notify them of that at the time. I should have.
We have just had another major failure (less than 12 months from last time) and was told that you have already had one claim sorry that's it. Out of a 'gesture of goodwill' they said they would send me another protector, but that was it. I gave them my thoughts on that, and their warranty, with little in return apart from 'that's the policy'. I also informed them that the stain from last time couldn't be removed and they said I should have told them at the time and it's too late now. Even though I could get the cleaner to supply a report. I was not happy and asked for my feedback to be passed on to management.
About 15 minutes later they called me back and advised they would clean my mattress again as a 'gesture of goodwill' however that is it, I am not entitled to any more claims, even on my new protector. I believe this is very misleading, and the new protector should have a warranty of its own. Suffice to say I will not be purchasing another Protect-a-bed product, and I have spoken with the mattress retailer also.
look elsewhere – Falls apart as everyone says, also leaves tiny particles everywhere as it deteriorates in record time. Yes our bed is now stained too, very disappointing considering we have a very expensive mattress only warranted if protector is used and this happens. They should be made and supplied by the actual mattress company. Show details
Bad enough to get me to write a review – I'd stay away from this at all costs. As others have said the elastic goes easily and mine is deteriorating after about 4 years. I have limited the amount of times I have washed it but that hasn't stopped its degradation. The same thing has happened to my mum who also has the same protector. When you pay $160+ you expect something like this to last more than 5 years. I'll be trying the Sheridan brand next. Show details
Leaked after 4 years – I used to to love this until it failed this morning. Wee obviously went straight through the waterproof membrane. Is marketed to last 10years on a new bed. My mattress was new so was prepared to pay good money to protect it for it's life, less than 4 1/2 years later it is now wet after my child had an accident in our bed. What to replace it… Read more
with....? And not happy about replacing it so soon as it wasn't cheap and expected longer life from it as i have cared for the protector, it's had limited washing, never tumble dried or hot washed to prolong it's life. I also have the same one on my child's bed, so how long will that last ...?
Warranty that doesn't exist – I had bought a protecta bed protector and have some stains on the mattress. When trying to get warranty they say it was improperly laundered when we followed directions. Their product failed and they do not want to warranty. I would never buy again as this product is a rip off and they do not cover what they state. Junk. And useless warranty. Show details
False advertising – The front packaging of this product states it's for pet fluids, bed wetting and food/beverage spillage but after spending $170 I find the warranty inside states if it comes into contact with any of those the warranty is void.... So basically it's useless and advertised in a false manner which I will be taking up with ACCC. I was also very clear at Harvey Norman this was the reason for purchase and was advised this was the product to purchase. Show details
Great product! – Have purchased two of these mattress protectors for my single beds and one for a double. All fit the mattresses perfectly and are soft and comfortable to sleep on. After some major accidents have saved a fortune in not having to replace the mattress or electric blanket... Absolutely no soiling got through. Show details
like sleeping on a cheap plastic protector – Absolutely terrible! I've reached the stage where I will replace it with something that actually fits properly. The main issue with this is that it does not fit snug against the mattress and is constantly slipping and as a result cause the sheet on top to do the same.
