Staff member being rude.
I went to one your branches at Sunnybank hills Queensland requested for assistance to purchase a watch she refused to serve me saying that I was on my phone. She was very rude to me saying that unless your conversation is about the watch I need to get off my phone. What type of customer service is that. What does me being on my phone have to do her serving me. She even went on to ask me if I had checked in and wanted to see it on my phone.
This was the reply from the complaints department.
Please be advised we have investigated your complaint...with our Prouds Sunnybank store in order to clarify and provide you with additional information. As part of this investigation, we have also reviewed the CCTV footage from the store to gain a better understanding of the interaction that occurred between yourself and [Name Removed]. It would appear that during your interaction with [Name Removed] you were perusing our watch display and talking on your mobile, at which point you signalled for [Name Removed] to assist you by pointing at her. When [Name Removed] approached you, she informed you that she would be able to assist you as soon as you had finished your phone conversation as a courtesy. Unfortunately it makes it difficult for our in store teams to speak with and assist customers whilst they are on the phone. I politely signalled to the store assistant that I needed help. They didn't rectify the issue at all. Left the store bought my $500 watch somewhere else. Don't go to prouds they have very rude staff.
They did everything possible for us to not want to go there
Last December, we bought a pair of earrings from Tea Tree Plaza, SA - by March, however, one of the earrings had their lock pin break like a twig, and it snapped and fell on the ground.
We returned to the store, and we were given an invoice, the earrings were sent to the supplier where they were replaced 1.5 months later, and the new pair then broke only 5 weeks after we retrieved them.
When we took the second pair there again, we were asked "what are you doing with the earrings, for them to break in this way?" A few minutes later, we happene...
I don't have a wearable engagement ring
A few years ago, I chose a simple engagement ring from one of the Prouds stores in suburban Adelaide, marked down from $799 to $350, as we did not have much money. Regardless of cost, it shouldn't fall apart. But within a year diamonds were falling out of it, and by the time I went back I was quoted what I felt was an unacceptable price for replacing diamonds. I know that consumer law protects you for reasonable expectations, even when products are slightly out of warranty, so I went back on another day and got a much more helpful service lady ...who did indeed send it away to be repaired free of charge. The diamonds were replaced and I was happy again - for a few months, anyway. Then diamonds fell out again. I now have at least two distinctive holes in my ring where diamonds should be, and as such I can't wear it. This was my ENGAGEMENT ring, and I can't wear it! It is supposed to last for life, and something with an original price tag of just under $800 should certainly be able to hold together for many years. We shouldn't be punished because we can't afford a $5k or $10k ring. It's literally heart breaking.

Annoyed no refunds
I am disgusted and feel ripped off with Prouds i will never go there again.i purchased a $280 necklace which my daughter didn't like so when that same day (not even taken the necklace out of the box) I asked for a refund they flat refused.now im stuck with a necklace I don't want. DO NOT GO TO PROUDS
Where is your Jewellery sourced from?
I have purchased many pieces of Jewellery from Prouds for myself, my mother in law a s my mum. When i need a ring resized they tell me the ring needs to be sent away. I ask no questions however! 3 months later i still dont have my ring back and i’ve been told its been sent over seas to the supplier. WHERE IS YOUR SUPPLIER! For all i know i might be paying top dollar for something worth nothing!! Is Prouds not an Australian company? I have been denied to know where the supplier is located and i have no engagement ring now. Plus! I have to pay and additional $80!!! Never buying from Prouds again! Price inflation at its finest!
Rip off merchants who don't tell the truth
Disgusting customer service from 2 stores and state customer service manager?? Bought an expensive bracelet for granddaughter and was assured by the Mittagong store that if it needed resizing it would be done by any store at nil cost. When granddaughter visited Miranda NSW store she was charged $95 despite Mittagong assuring the resize would be done. Stupid Miranda store then removed 4 links saying that they only do multiples of two. (Watchbands yes, bracelets no). They then wanted to charge an additional $65 to replace a link that shouldn't ha...ve been removed in the first place. State customer service manager had an attitude problem when complaint was made about the two stores and continually said that it was company policy (despite the fact there were two witnesses who clearly heard the first store say that a resize was free) and that there would not be a refund of either charge. The second charge was to repair their stuff-up that can only be described as theft !!! Shop somewhere else and don't bother complaining to head office as you will be inferred that you are a liar even if you can prove what you are told by a store. For what it's worth the Customer Service manager for NSW at head office is as useless as you know what on a bull.

Ring size too big , ear studs won’t sits on my ears
I decided to treat myself this week after I saw the 1/2 price jewelleries sold at Prouds . I spent $1459.00 for a ring , pendant and an ear studs .
After I got home , I realised that I haven’t been asked by the sales person about the size of my fingers ( I took home the one that I tried on ) .
Of course : I’m a size M and I took home an O . Far too big . I then tried on my ear studs , and noticed that it doesn’t sits properly on my earlobes.
I went back to Prouds in Pacific Fair , Hoping they could help me . The same sales person told me I w...

Such rude staff
My son purchased a watch and after 6 months the band fell apart. It was a $379 seiko watch, so I expected more.
I took it back with receipt and as she rolled her eyes at me she stated they won’t do anything because bands aren’t under warranty.
Now, I understand that, but the 2 ladies, one being the manager, were so rude and condescending, I walked out in tears.
I went to another local owned jeweller and they are fixing it for $20.
This is not perfect ,
Bought a ring, it no longer fitted after 2 months even though it was never worn, staff at Prouds Sale flatly refused to refund. Will not ever go to Proud's again.
Worst Customer Service , wont be back !
Went to Prouds in Goulburn with the intention of buying a Necklace with three rings attached and having them engraved. On inspecting necklace and letting the shop assistant that we were going to have the rings engraved she informed us that they have an arrangement with Mr Minit for engraving . Looking at the smaller ring we asked if we could ask Mr Minit if it was possible for engraving and let him sight the rings .
Asking if staff could take necklace to Mr Minit for inspection, No was the answer ( didnt understand 3 staff and no other custom...
Great customer service
Went to Ashfield store. Had to exchange an item super helpful and polite staff. Will return to this store for sure
I caught a train to colonnade, felt insult about my ring size... And the women wouldn't let it go... Walk away in tears.
I caught a train to colonnade nourlunga centre after shopping at Westfield marion and the Adelaide city. I decided to go to colonnades shopping centre at nourlunga centre to buy a heart ring and necklace chain. When I arrived at the store. I explained to the lady that I already brought a ring and pendant from Westfield Marion and was very happy there. So I caught a bus to the city and train to get to Colonnades and wanted to buy this heart ring from their store.. I try on the ring and it fit me nicely, I was all ready to pay for the ring. But t...han the lady jump to conclusions and suggested ring size adjustable... I said "no thank you" she wouldn't stop... Telling me I could lose my ring... I never lost a ring in my life I explained to her clearly and carefully.. I constantly repeat to her, I do not wish to change ring size..., she wouldn't stop and pull out measurements ring adjustable Infront of me... I once again explained, I am regular customer of Prouds jewelry and brought products from their stores for three years and longer... And continued to say I do not need to change the ring size, I do not want it to be tighter... because I didn't want to tell the lady I have blood disorder that make my finger swell up.... She still wouldn't stop... My face started turning red... I never felt so uneasy... I didn't want to tell her about my blood disorder since it none of her business and never had to mention about it once for 3 and half years. Since it my personal matters... I recently purchased at Westfield Marion this morning with no issues and no drama. But at colonnade I felt pressure from the first lady than gotten worse when other lady try to sort out the matter... Now I have two ladies ganging up on me.. I wouldn't handle to drama... I said quietly... I have a blood disorder that maje my fingers swell up... my feelings were hurt... The first lady look at me speechless and said sorry. I don't want your empathy.. The other lady said oh i see... Would you like to buy the ring with a rude remark voice. I felt white as a ghost and about to cry... i never had any problem till now. I explained quickly before leaving in a rush... "why didn't you just let it go..." I just left the store and end up crying because I felt so uncomfortable and didn't understand why she wouldn't respect my wishes. They just hurt my feelings and wouldn't stop questioning... the ring was perfect too, but horrible customer service. If you want to buy jewelry treated with respect and privately and not pressure you, I recommend shopping at Westfield Marion. Please avoid... colonnade shopping centre at all cost... Now I have to catch a train back home feeling depressed about my blood disorders and can not believe what had just happened. How dare they do that to my feelings.
Prouds product care was a waste of money
Hi I brought a bridal set in December, from Prouds at Smithfield Cairns, I brought the 10 year product care for my rings. I got my rings resized under the product care no problems, but I want the rings to be welded together, only to be told I would lose my 10 year product care, so I’m not happy. Then I went to prouds yesterday to get my rings cleaned, only to find out no we don’t clean rings under the product care, but I can send them away to get cleaned and checked, I don’t live in cairns. I’m never going to buy at Prouds again. Micheal Hill d...o a better product care they welded my daughters rings free, every time she goes to cairns they clean her bridal set for free, plus they can’t do enough, not like prouds as they are so rude, plus you walk into a shop and you have to wait as there isn’t anyone in the shop. Sorry Prouds
Bad reviews not surprising
Went in for a simple pin to be replaced as my relatively new watch fell apart. It was only six months old and already had a battery replaced. The girl wasted 15 minutes to find my details so she could fix it under warranty even though she said it wasn’t covered. As I was not wishing to wait any longer I suggested I just pay for the pin and was told it would be $2. Cannot believe she wasted my time for that. Later that week I noticed the pin she put in was sticking out and catching on every garment I wore, causing holes. Seriously annoying!!!!
Do not buy anything from Prouds
My mum passed away and I was given her wedding and engagement rings. I wanted a way to wear them safely and went into Prouds Robina and asked if it was safe to keep them on a chain around my neck. I was told that yes it definitely was and the sales assistant (who also happened to be the store manager) showed me a chain which she recommended as definitely being strong enough. I then asked if it was safe for me to wear all the time - including in the shower and to bed, as I did not want to risk losing my mothers precious rings by taking the chain...on and off all the time. I would have looked at other options for the rings if I was told no - but this manager said yes - the chain could be worn all the time without risk of it breaking as it was strong and designed for this. My husband and I forked out the most money we have ever spent on jewellery since we were married 30 years ago and I left wearing the chain and precious rings. A few months later I woke up to a broken chain (but thankfully found my mothers rings in my bed). I went straight back to Prouds who wouldn’t do anything unless I saw their manager, who wasn’t in that day. I took the chain to an independent jeweller for assessment and they declared the chain as being porous and having a manufacturing fault. I went back to see the manager at Prouds (who actually sold me the chain). She would not give me a refund and sent it to their head office for assessment. They told me the chain had broken through customer wear and tear. I went to Fair Trading with this where Prouds then lied and said they always tell customers not to wear chains in bed or the shower. I’m so angry - I actually asked the question and got told the opposite. So my very expensive chain only lasted a few months. Steer clear of Prouds. They tell you anything and lie to your face to get a sale and then have despicable after sales service for their inferior products. I’m appalled by the number of bad reviews on here from customers who have had a similar experience. Why are Prouds allowed to keep getting away with this? If anyone else wants to team up together and take this to A Current Affair - count me in.
Questions & Answers
How can I buy a ring to fit my finger size when shopping online?
How long does it take to get a ring resized and sent back to a store?
I was told it had to go up to Sydney for resizing.
How long did it end up taking Rikki? I'm in far north Qld and I was also told it had to be sent to Sydney for re-sizing!
Hi to you both, depending on where the store is located for sending it will vary in time. In my experience it takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on the extend of repair needed as well as the time to ship it, repair it, and send it back xx hope this helped
How about if you just got the ring and the resize ring flew off your hand and landed on concrete and cracked the diamond. Does the care plan cover that? It’s less than a few hours old and it’s my engagement ring. In tears
Actually if it's a stone repair you can always come back into store with your care plan card and ask them to quote it/send it to Sydney for evaluation: it just means you will be without the ring for a couple of weeks, but the care plan covers stone checks/ring repairs so if they can do something you can always try and get it quoted? Xx
