QBE then insisted I take car to repairer for assessment, approved it but "with prejudice" -then stuffed around for weeks again, initially blaming me for accident (chap backed into my side!). Once they agreed their client was at fault, they refused to process claim because their client "had not met Policy Obligations" (aka - he was refusing to pay access); end result, bounced around 'different QBE departments', car at repairer indefinitely until they were ready.... "could be months" if ever. Ombudsman/AFCA has no power to help as my car insured. Got fed up and lodged 'no fault' claim with my insurer who were great, car fixed in week, no excess and got hire car free..... QBE may be legally well covered, but morally and ethically naked !

My vehicle was vandalised and QBE denied a claim by accusing me of misrepresentation….which is not accurate.
I selected No when answering a question about a previous incident ….thinking that it’s based on when the incident occurred, but they have said it’s based on when the incident was finalised (which was several months later and within their 3-year period of disclosure)
Just a typical technicality and company who did not care when I needed the support. And quite frankly has left me feeling hopeless three months later

hail. 3 months later my car still hasn’t been assessed because the repairer they picked is 5 hours from where I live and Qbe doesn’t want to pay for the tow truck there for my car to be assessed . So after lodging another complaint with AFCA for this claim to get my car assessed I had to send photos of my car so they could assess it and agreed it was a total loss. Yet it seems tho Qbe departments dont communicate with each other because here I am still waiting for this [Content Removed] show to end. This behaviour shows a serious lack of integrity, accountability, and proper claims assessment. As a customer, I felt completely unprotected and treated with impunity.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend QBE Insurance and strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when dealing with their claims and repair processes.

They said they won't send me tow truck and I sould manage that and hire a car myself. Very long time waiting on the phone, no help from the staff, it has been 3 weeks from the accident, they haven't even contacted the repair shop. Terrible insurance. Would never recommend them at all. First ever claim on comp insurance ever,for a minor bump on rear bumper. Processed ok and took car to repairer weeks later as advised. Car came back with a nasty run in paint on the repair PLUS a new 12cm long scratch on boot. Back for repair - now has the scratch + boot requires 30% more effort to close. I spoke to was terribly apologetic but of course that doesn't help does it? All they could do was say "Yeah that's terrible, I'm really sorry, it might be a price increase or it might be because the rego lapsed but unfortunately this is the price"
Absolutely insane price gouging from a company with a proven track record of disgusting customer service. Six months ago I had 42 vehicles fully insured with QBE and was a $150,000 a year customer - all 42 vehicles plus the 12 new vehicles we purchased in the past six months are now all insured elsewhere.
