change and decided to venture out into Albury Wodonga. Accommodation, there really was not that many, though after reviewing the photographs against our earlier experiences from 6-years ago especially from my last review concerning Quest Apartment Hotels in Bondi Junction in Sydney New South Wales?
I took a chance and was immediately impressed upon the improvements, especially for Quest Wodonga.
[Product / Service] The brand in accordance to the location and what it included with the exception of secured underground parking which was an additional $10 per night. I opted for this service because the complementary parking they had onsite was not overly promising, and especially I am rather risk adverse in this case.
A lot has happened in 6 years compared to my earlier experiences. Though in the regional sense, Quest Apartment Hotels in Wodonga are massive by comparison.
[Package]
What makes this specific location special in an almost complete package, the value proposition, are four things:
There is an onsite gym, not that big but has a combination of Body Solid and Life Fitness branded equipment. Though the Kettlebells and Rubber Hexes are a bit questionable considering the so-called rack was rather small, more like something out of a Bunnings Hardware store rather than a gym establishment.
In any case, other than this, our room was on the 4th floor, there are only 4 four floors, but what makes this more interesting for us, the gym was right next door. So if you’re an individual that likes to use a functional gym, best to get a room on the 4th floor.
Though note that the establishment has 5 floors. Level 1 is ground level.
There is an outdoor pool, though we never really used it, as the weather when we arrived at the establishment was a mixed bag.
Secure underground parking if you pay extra. When you check in, you’re offered an opportunity to either use the complimentary parking which is exposed to the elements and no security what so-ever which means any one from outside on the street could in fact walk and come in. I’ll let you use your imagination on that.
As opposed to underground secured parking which is fenced off with two gates on wheels. If you opt for the $10 daily fee, reception will encode the accommodation room card, which you will need to use to swipe to enter. Upon exit, you don’t need the card, as it will auto open.
On level 2 there is a sky bridge that joins Quest Wodonga with Huon Hill Restaurant for Lunch and Dinner.
[Pros(+) vs Cons(-)]
Pros: Modern-looking Onsite amenities A restaurant connected via a Sky Bridge or can be accessed indirectly… Though not earlier mentioned, there is a kids room near the reception level.
Cons: From the above, as per #4, the lift which is only one throughout all floors including the basement for the additional secured underground parking. The lift does not have a swipe access card, which poses an issue concerning security.
As a general rule, no accommodation is 100% secure proof if it is marketed that way, I’d recommend you do your own security assessment and apply some commonsense just for peace of mind.
As Quest apartments are generally equipped with cooking facilities with that of a bar fridge, microwave and kitchenette. This is not so much of a con, however, there were other guests when we were present that just did not have the common decency. Meaning that on the 4th floor someone cooked fish and then the following day an oily disgusting smell carried itself into the hallway that utterly ruined our expeirence.
It would be ideal if Quest management installed stronger exhaust fans or provide a written warning posted within the Kitchenette for its patrons to use it!
Our view room on the 4th floor, overlooked the secure parking of the basement and also a view of an industrial estate. Not something I would call an interesting view, though it would have been better where their rooms were facing modern architecture and especially of Wodonga’s central business district instead.
[Final Thoughts]
This is but of one example from the Quest Apartment that is perhaps a unicorn, an anomaly, that has an interesting value proposition that caters for your needs if not more. Located close near to Wodonga’s central business district within a short 10 minute walk. And especially near Wodonga’s Court and Police station at a TAFE nearby. It was convenient.
I was fairly impressed. And should I come back to Wodonga, we will most likely come back to this place again.
As for yourself, you, If you do come and stay here, ensure that you speak to reception and see if you get your room on the 4th floor if you want to enjoy the gym and facing a non-industrial view as our photos show. Another tip, if do want to go to Huon Hill Restaurant; ensure you bring your room accommodation swipe card with you? Otherwise, when and if you venture over across the Sky Bridge into the Huon Hill restaurant, if you don’t have your card, you won’t be able to cross back as there is a swipe access console at the door. Which ultimately means you will have to venture out via an alternative exit which carries you down a flight of stairs and a ramp onto Quest’s traffic laneway in addition to the elements.
Management at quest sanctuary lakes has no empathy towards the customers, wouldn’t consider the customers feelings in helping with his situation. Show details

baby. Finally got into the room very small for what you pay. Wife went straight into the shower mouldy walls yuck. Towels small and thin. Hardly no toilet paper on handle. Found rotten old food in the microwave. Plates were cracked. Kettle didnt even get hot enough for a cup of coffee. Hallway smells looks like hadnt been vacuumed for years. Left and went to the pullman
Follow-up · The internet kept cutting out. Bed stunk uncomfortable

I’ve attached photos of the front door lock, the carpet in the lounge room, the wall near the bed head, the lounge, and the bathroom. The final photo was taken after the ‘deep clean’ was completed. I want to share that I felt quite uncomfortable during my stay, given the condition of the room and the security concerns I encountered. We visit my… Read more
daughter and her family regularly (monthly at least) and were hoping to make this our preferred accommodation in Frankston, but unfortunately this experience has made that impossible for this particular Quest accommodation.
Since I stepped in the hotel,I had a super quality service, five stars customer service and very easy going check in /out and 24hrs free of charge laundry service .When I needed to visit Melbourne again I along did not hesitate to choose Quest C.Springs hotel again but as I didn't succeed in reserving my second stay through the hotel itself and… Read more

Booking.Com overcharged me however the reservation made by Booking.Com that confirmed, they would refund any overcharged rate if the same property stay is available & cheaper by any other reservation agents. As Booking.Com cheated .The hotel provided extra mile service till I got my money back . Thank you Quest C.Springs hotel team Management, reception, reservation ,Houskeeping for making my stay super( 7* Accommodation, customer service quality. Thank you for meeting up excellent customer /backup service after accommodation check out. I won't hesitate to stay in Quest Caroline Spring Hotel whenever I ever stop in Melbourne because the accommodation super quality is Quest Caroline Springs Hotel.
Quest Nowra Never book here. They refuse to waive a cancellation fee even though it’s due to medical reasons. Appalling conduct and customer service is despicable. Have raised a complaint with the ACCC. Medical reasons should be viewed as genuine reasons to cancel not an opportunity to make money off someone’s misfortune. Never book here - book elsewhere. Sneaky Grubs – Booked a pet friendly apartment at Robina. Paid up front, to get a phone call to pay extra $200 (non refundable) for pet cleaning. Make this clear when booking. Wont be ever staying at Quest apartments ever.

Rip off $350 EXTRA 'pet friendly' fee for a $201 booking – We searched and booked a pet friendly hotel on booking.com. We expect to pay an extra fee for the pet - usually $20/night or around $50/stay. Quest Werribee promotes as pet friendly but upon calling them ahead of our checkin that day (we booked the day before), we wanted to remind them we needed a pet friendly room. They advised the extra fee on… Read more
top of the $201 room night was $350 for the dog! $350 is completely unjustifiable and certainly not pet-friendly. The damaged room fee is only $250 in comparison!
But because the booking was non-refundable we had to forfeit the room or pay the fee. We forfeited the room, advised both booking.com and the hotel on phone and in writing that we would have to cancel and slept in our van as there was no where else to stay.
Booking.com offered to facilitate the refund if the hotel agreed, but the hotel didn't agree. I asked the hotel if i could have. voucher for another night in the future, they also said no.
Their own website at Quest (and the Quest Group) promote 'paw-fect stays' but they don't state the price up front (although I checked with other Quests and they were $49). I advised them they need to make the fee up front and clear or honour a cancellation, but they just keep blaming me for changing my mind.
I have contacted both the hotel and the chain, but the chain has ignored my feedback also.
I have shared with them and encouraged them to understand their obligations under the Consumer Guarantees, but they have ignored that too. It has been so arrogant, but I feel I need to warn people about how misleading this is ahead of lodging my formal complaint with Consumer Affairs - I have already lodged with ACCC.
Shocking service - Quest Chermside – Quest Chermside 15/5/24: Told me on a Monday by email that my Qantas hotel booking was confirmed. Then told me on the Wednesday by email that they advised me incorrectly and the Qantas booking was not confirmed. Suggested I rebook, but when I tried to the price had doubled. with the manager, but he never returned my call.
Unprofessional and cowardly service.
16/5/24: Just got a call from the GM of Quest. He lectured me about the way I spoke to his staff. He didn't apologise about Chermside's role in my lost booking and said that he didn't call me because he was collating the facts - this is despite his front office team telling me on 15/5 that he had been briefed about my predicament.
After 10 minutes of his raised voice and lecturing I felt intimidated and hung up.
Wow, in my opinion, this is a Hotel to avoid at all costs.
Outdated but not cheap – Recently stayed at Quest River Park Central in Brisbane. The apartment was very outdated and scored low on cleanliness. Would not recommend. Show details
Very stressful and disappointing – Avoid at all costs! Recently booked to stay believing car park allocated for unit. Advised required to pay an extra $40 per day. Staff very unhelpful and and booking system misleading and not clear. Not customer service orientated. It would be reasonable and fair to expect a car park would be provided with hotel Accommodation. Notting Hill – Spent 9 days at this establishment and can honestly say this is the best Quest we have stayed in. Staff were friendly, happy and obliging. Nothing was too much. Rooms were excellent. Well serviced and clean. We were in a touring party of 30 and all had similar views. A very enjoyable stay. We will return. Thankyou to all staff concerned. Show details
Awesome service – We arrived after hours (Palmerston NT) after a late flight, we had a text message with lock box access with room keys and car parking. It was all taken care of. I accidentally got the wrong room number wrong ( long flight), and the after hours staff were so friendly and helpful. it was well priced, we will be staying there again. Show details
Fantastic apartment – Have just spent 2 nights at the Quest East Perth. Everything is immaculate with staff who are helpful and professional. The hotel is in a central position making it easy to get out and about. I will be staying here again. Show details
Response to error – It was by error that the room I booked last minute and accessed after 2:00pm was uncleaned from the previous guests - these things do happen but it’s the response that makes the difference ! I was apologised to which seemed genuine but then suggested I find else where to go for an hour or so whilst the room be cleaned . I informed them I just… Read more
wanted to relax and had already poured a wine before even realising the room was unprepared so I wasn’t going any where and could they find me an alternative room - was then told they would get back to me. They did get back to me immediately but the alternative was to go down to the pool for an hour whilst the room was cleaned and that there were no other rooms available and in that I had only just acquired the room online 15 minutes earlier (that is not the point and doesn’t alter my needs) As stated above , errors occur , but it’s the recovery of the error that’s of essence and in that I was made to feel like I was lucky because they were going to clean the room soon - is totally unacceptable - but especially at $207 for 1 night on a busy intersection - in fact it wouldn’t matter if I was in Timbuktu! That attitude towards this predicament has left my review untasteful - let’s hope management can take these issues onboard and make a difference by training staff to be more accommodating for the guests that’s hotels depend on
Quest, 28 West Row, Canberra – Stayed 1st to 3rd December, 2022. Shower had filthy mould between tiles throughout the shower recess. Mixer tap to handbasin was loose and floppy. Quest Midland, Perth – Have stayed here on several occasions and have stayed in the pet-friendly one br apartments with our dog and have always had a great stay. Terrible – I had booked to stay in the Quest in Joondalup with my pommeranian whilst my insurance company was replacing a flooded floor. I asked the fee on the phone and was told $199. suite with disabled bathroom. All was OK until I decided to leave and I told them will be checking out the following day. I was told I will still have to pay the $274 because I haven't given them 24 hours notice. When I returned home I found their invoice $100 short. When I called to ask why I was told there a pee on the wall. When I asked $100 for a pee in a room reserved for people with dogs, she cut me off and I had a recorded message saying because I am not friendly they cut off the conversation. I shouldn't have told them it's an insurance claim. They went for the kill. Even the good morning I said was ignored. My advice: Stay away.

Lovely apartments but the manager honestly , violent , aggressive and abusive. On check in he started to become angry about a 1 star google review I put . And then he demanded my full name, He knew all to well at that time I was not allowed to do so for security reasons as I was being put up by Safesteps Family Violence Response Centre. Because being put up to be safe he knew that it was first name only. I said I can't give out my full name as it was a reqirement. He was so angry about my one star review for google and started being a stand over , Threatning I would go to Jail and to remove the google review or he would do something about it. I was then having a full blown Panick attack . He shoved me in the rib and it cracked. After another receptionist came out , He quuickly quitened down. He nudged up to me and said " I just got to feed my daughter , thats why I am the manager" The other receptionist looked concerned and thankfully took me to my room. She was nice and said "Im sorry , He's always like that" So safesteps took it further as they told me it was assault. It's a shame that Ive never had a nice experience with Quest. I would love one week at a quest where I can honestly write a positive review. But I do not trust them at all.
Staying during relocation due to insurance claim – My insurance company has put me and family into a very large 3 bedroom apartment whilst flood damage is repaired in our house. was amazing..thank you. Our arrival was equally well handled. As we are not allowed to leave the apartment, we were calling reception a number of times over the first days to be greeted with nothing but a great and helpful attitude. I can't rave enough about the service and general amenities of the apartment.

Filthy rooms and extremely poor service – What a joke! Room looked uncleaned and I don't think the sheets were changed - gross! It also looked like they have been shipping Corona Virus people in so I did a google search and yep, Quest have been shipping in CV positive people. Thanks very much for exposing us to risk!!!
