switched on middle of February 2025. - at first boot up, it gave 3 beeps, power light flashed red. Quick google of HP docs reflected this was a memory error. reboot, machine booted and windows installed and set up. Note at this point that the machine sits behind a UPS. - floods hit Brisbane, lost power, UPS battery runs low, machine auto shuts down. - staff return, turn PC back on, same error as previous. tried reboot, no luck same error. - try changing ram stick hoping for a simple solution, no luck. try and different ram slot, no luck. - urgently need system up and running so purchase a new machine from office works as that is closest with something in stock. 10 march 2025 - contact recompute to organise return of faulty system and receive refund. Refused.

fast SSD drive instead of old HDD the day after I made the purchase so I called them up and as it was still awaiting shipment they swapped it out that day and shipped the next. Came with free keyboard, mouse and display port cable (not an old VGA cable as I was expecting). Everything was in great nick, OS loaded perfectly and everything works as it should. PC is fast to boot and run and 16gb of ram was more than I was expecting for the system price. All in all you can't go past Recompute, and I shopped around online for a few hours. Glad I went with them. I'll definitely use again if I'm in the market for secondhand gear in future. All in all great value, together with good old fashioned customer service and attention to detail. I'd give them another star if I could.

was an easy decision to come back to see what Recompute had for my folks.

Quick look online via their clean, simple and easy to use search functions and ability to drill down and see all addons; we decided on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p Tiny Desktop. With plenty of specs under the hood to last for many more years to come. It was bundled up and sent out to my parents (interstate) within a few days and they were up and running again in a week! They are amazed at how much faster the PC is and being SFF have loads of desk space back. TeamViewer coming pre-installed is a huge help as well, as have already jumped in to help them out with a few things and it it very fast!

Can't recommend the team enough for their helpfulness, exceptionally sourced items and care taken in sending delicate items around the country. If you are in need for a quality refurb with excellent service with top notch pricing recommend you give the Recompute team a go! Thanks again :)

Recompute are just wonderful with great products and great prices. My only complaint is AustPost are cr@p, the address is correct on parcel, Recompute have done there job. Seems the AustPost drivers don't read english and keep delivering else where so I need to go find it. Complaints to AustPost make no difference. Show details

This is the second time I have bought a refurbished computer from re compute. Very happy with both experiences

Sloppy hand over – Dell Latitude 7400 2 in 1. Good computer, sloppy handover. Computer still had ex company security conditions when I received it. I had to to a full windows reset to disable this. myself. These issues should have been resolved during the refurbishment of the laptop. I have purchased ex-company refurbished computers from other companies in the past and have never encountered issues like this before.

They took my money and won't give it back – I ordered a laptop from recompute in March and paid $800. I was then informed that the laptop I had ordered was not available. I called them to request a refund, and after giving me a nonsense story of why they can't refund my card, they have utterly refused to process a refund through any other means. There were and are issues – The machine was ill prepared - I was having all sorts of trouble in the first 10 days. Problems with sound, waking up from sleep, "An error has occurred". Finally I saw that windows 11 was only 40% installed. When I left it on there were fewer issues when in use and now it works very well and it is quick although still error messages. Windows 11 is still not fully installed but once done I think it will be good.

I'm usually fairly wary about purchasing online, particularly with businesses that I have never dealt with before. However, the online reviews about Recompute certainly eased my doubts, and my own experince with them now confirms what everyone else had already said. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Recompute to any of my friends and acquaintences.

10/10 would recommend – I bought a Thinkpad T490 online from Recompute, and I’m quite satisfied with it. The specs are accurate and the laptop itself looks good. Fast delivery as well.

UPDATE: After I posted this review, Recompute went out of the way to resolve the issue by sending me a new stand. It's unfortunate that it required a bad review to get to that point, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt about miscommunication, as the end result was good.
