Misleading and disappointing service
The service does not support business transactions. Yet has drop boxes that include the option for a business transfer when indicating what the transfer is for. Also you can apply to increase your daily limit. Then wjen you state you are trying to do business they will close your account, charge high fees and give no reason other than read the fine print.
Horrible. FRAUDULENT BUSINES
One of the customer representatives hung up without even clarifying details. Without any reason suspended the account and did not even have any explanation for it. And took my money without approval. On asking for proper explanation the customer representatives hung up on me. Very rude. Definitely scammers. Never send money through them NEVERRR.

They reject transactions constantly and when you cancel the account, they charge you with all your transactions, nobody bothers to give an answer or be accountable when contacted. Definitely. Scammers
Poor company. Stay away from them
If I can rate it with 0 star, I will. This is the most terrible money transfer company I have ever used. Only transfer a $500 AUD and it took more than 10 days but still have not received anything. Call them 4 times they always said the fund will be available in the next 24hrs. Very horrible service, useless staff, wasting your time. I dont recommend.
Not transfer money to recipients and still charged fee. Holding your funds without refund l. Customers useless and not solve anything. Wait more than hour to contact with someone 0 star
Takes too long for initial transaction
Downloaded the App. Sent A$200 to Bali. Transaction on hold until I was able to confirm a 4 digit number attached to transaction. When the transaction is processed as a hold it doesn't show anywhere on a statement. After a couple of calls and a computer chat I gave up
The recipient didn't get the money not just once but so many times. They then give me a different transaction number whenever I contacted them. VERY UNRELIABLE, I DON'T RECOMMEND
Slow Transfers, High Transfer Rates , No Refunds and Ineffective Help/Support
I wanted to buy an item and the seller recommended Remitly as Paypal charged too much for processing the transfer. I had to process 3 transfers due to my new account having a low transfer limit but each transfer took 5 days to be processed and I had to provide evidence of my bank account and the recipient's ID TWICE (it was the same recipient and my same bank account). I doubt I would have to wait more than 15 days or be asked for the same evidence twice using Paypal or Transferwise???

Horrible customer service
The recipient can't get the money for technical issues, nor refund. Customer service end the chatting as they can't fix their mistake. I don't recommend this company AT ALL for transferring money overseas.

I opened account with Remitly on 2nd of February and my first transaction got stuffed up straight away. I transferred 2000AUD overseas using my Visa debit card which is my everyday account. They had some kind of issue which caused another 2000AUD withdrawal from my account and brought my account to almost zero balance leaving me without money for 5 days. I contacted support straight away, using chat function, trying to explain them what they have caused and literally begging them for money as I didn't have any money left. They kept saying there...was a glitch and that I will be refunded in few days and I kept saying that I am out of money because of them and I need an urgent refund. They eventually called me but their support representative started to raise his voice and insulted me by saying that we in Australia should understand that there was a problem with their system. They also offered $20 account credit which I also found insulting and refused it. I logged an official complain about all this experience but they never bother to send me any response or give me a call and this was all happening a month and a half ago. I did get refund eventually... Such a shame

Genuine customer service - saw my case to completion
I sent a large amount of money through Remitly to my mother-in-law in Croatia, end of November 2020. Due to an error in IBAN (bank account) number, the Croatian bank had held on to the money, instead of rejecting the transaction straightaway or refunding it immediately to Remitly. They also responded very slowly to enquiries from Remitly on my behalf regarding the status of my remittance. Afterwards, despite providing the correct IBAN number, the Croatian bank still tried to hold on to the remittance and sent error message to Remitly. The entir...e waiting game took slightly over 2 months. I finally had enough of the undue delay and requested cancelation of the remittance to Remitly. Within 2 days of cancelation, Remitly had refunded the full amount and also the service fee. The executive escalation team, Mr Mico Angelo and also the CEO of Remitly, Mr Matt Oppenheimer were personally involved to resolve the undue delay. Even though I was initially frustrated with Remitly, I realise now that they are a genuine company and delays are more often than not due to their partner banks in the respective countries, which unfortunately is beyond their control. I will use Remitly services again in the future.
Don't trust Remitly to deliver
I have been a Remitly customer for almost 3 years and have made 120 transfers to the Philippines. I had a brief issue about 2 years ago where they asked for bank statements. At the time I was disturbed by their untimely request for financial information.
Yesterday my account was blocked after I transferred 44,500 PHP. The recipient is expecting the funds in the next couple of days and Remitly blocked the payment after issuing me with a payment receipt (which I had already forwarded onto the recipient).

Quick, easy & reliable
First time I used this money-transfer to the Philippines and was pleased with my experience. I sent $AU500. and the Remitly rate was better than the once I previously used. My relative in the province, where I sent it to, received the money within 2-hours and I also got txt message from remitly informing me that the money has been withdrawn. Yes, I will use Remitly again.
Worst customer service and fraud company
I Made a transfer to India on Thursday 03/12/2020 through Remitly ( R42111428689 )and received a confirmation email that the funds had been paid on Thursday. The money hasn't arrived even though it has been a week (10/12/2020 Thursday). Its been a week and the money transfer is for emergency medical expense overseas as my father has been tested positive for Corona and he needed urgent financial support. Calling them is the most frustrating experience. No one has a clue about what's the status of the money is! Each time it's a different custome...r service person, who would give a different date on when they had made the payment. Customer service informed me that it may be an incorrect account number which is not true as I have done multiple transfer in same accountant which is very frustrating. Customer service said you will get call in 48 hours from our manager and informed me that he will look into this matter personally. I didn't receive any calls from Remitly which is very disappointing for me. I do not recommend Remitly to anyone for money transfer. I also sent email to the complain department but I didn't receive any updates. Remitly is fraud company be careful before you transfer your money. ,,,,
