They won't even pay their staff – I let this go, but it's always bugged me. In Feb 2014 I picked up a job as staff there. After two days I decided it wasn't for me. I ask to exit my contract, they asked just to stay on two more days to help cover the rush and then I could leave with no issues. I did so - made a few good sales too. They never paid me. I know it's only four days… Read more

but their argument was that I wasn't considered employed even though there are record of purchase orders I put through.

It might not be a big deal but four days pay covers a bill or two. Anyway I was too flustered to pursue it further or go to an ombudsman and I believe in Karma. I picked up another job two weeks later so I moved on. I heard they went into liquidation a few months after I resigned. Go figure.

So for those complaining about their service it applies to staff too.

They lied to me, called me a liar, caused me to cry and kicked me out – It's important I share my experience with Renovation Boys. It was my first renovation ever, and after consulting with 3 plumbers, they all said I needed a right-fitting toilet. So I bought one from renovation boys, camperdown. After the toilet was removed, the plumber realised that the pipe connection was direct, and I bought the wrong toilet.… Read more

I called Renovation Boys and explained the situation. The toilet was in its original wrapping. They said it was fine to return. The next day, went to the store, and the manager said that I made this conversation up - the person I spoke to on the phone wouldn't say that at all.

I told him who I spoke to, what they said, and how the toilet was in its original state - wrappping and all. He told me he didn't care, and that I was a liar. I got upset with him as I hadn't lied. He then tried to kick me out when I started to cry. He also threatened to call the police. I am a young girl in my 20s.

The thing is, their returns policy is flawed - if not compliant. I ended up unwrapping the toilet when I was selling on eBay, and it was chipped. Now, if the stock is damaged, then RB will replace it. But if you open the product, then you can't return it. So how can I inspect a product without opening?

My experience was terrible, humiliating and aggressive. I will never go back again, and I ended up getting my toilet from bunnings.

If you want to throw your money down the sink then shop at Renovation Boys – I can't understand how this retailer is allowed to continue in business. I learned the hard way. Items were bought to the value of $6000. On delivery, parts were missing, shower screen chipped, enamel erosion on vanity, chipped vanity top. Contacted the owner to complain. Without taking any responsibility he began blaming me for the damage.… Read more

Refused to refund. Became arrogant and impatient with my request. Taken to Dept of Fair Trading. Case went on for a year. Dept of Fair Trading went in his favor because I couldn't prove that the damage was done during shipment. How would I have proven this unless I was at the packaging plant in China. I lost all hope in our corrupt system from that day. I vowed to stick with reputable companies only.

Pretty good and good value for money – I don't usually write reviews, but my husband and I ordered a lot of products from Renovation Boys Parramatta in October 2013 prior to renovating our master bathroom. Imagine my dismay when I came home and saw so many negative reviews after we'd paid for everything! I was obviously expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised that we had no… Read more

major issues.

Items we purchased were; glass shower screen, double sink wall hung vanity, beveled edge vanity, Methven shower rail system, towel rails and toilet roll holder. Items were delivered just over 2 weeks after we ordered as promised. They only sent one delivery man, who obviously would. It have been able to carry the shower screen on his own! Fortunately my husband was home though.

Only other issue was we purchased 2 shower rails and were told we could bring one back if we decided not to use in our design. We assumed this meant we could return for a refund, however when we took it back we discovered we could only get store credit, so decided to keep it for a future renovation.

All in all minor issues considering the great value and we're very happy with the quality of the products we got. Helpful staff Were told we could return unwanted product, but we're not told this would only be for store credit

Great Recovery! – I bought a bath tub in early June and required it in August. They told me it would be held until August and when I called they told me it wasn't ready yet. Impressed! – Further to my review of April 29, 2013, I commend [name removed] from Renovation Boys for his concern over my very negative experience with the company. His response to my comments was swift and his desire to make amends was most impressive. Thanks [name removed]. I will give Reno Boys another chance should I have the need. lie about promised 2 people delivery – I bought a special bath tub about a month ago. As I worry about weight to go to first level shop assist promise they have 2 people help delivery. people delivery. It's not the company policy, it's OHS issue.

I will never buy staff form your shop if you mentioned that crap.

When come to I would like refund, answer is 20% handling fee. I should read bottom of invoice term and conditions. He said he didn't need mention when he sell this bath tub even it's spacial order.

What a great customer service.

I just ask tell me everything up front.

Let decided what to do, don't lie it in order to get business. It's bad way to do business, specially hide behind OHS policy.

Not so bad – We bought a freestanding bathroom, floor tap and shower screen from them early last year. Generally, everything was okay, although they did mix up the tap and I had to go back and I had to wait for weeks and weeks for the shower screen - which was then not the right size for the shower created by our tiler (not RB fault) and the new one had to be… Read more

custom made at greater cost and not as good quality. Had a problem with the shower installer (although RB was the best price) - not with his workmanship, but he knocked my car slightly with the shower screen and was very rude about it, saying he didn't do it. Staff at RB at first weren't very helpful but the manager then took over and he was great. The prices were very reasonable though and generally the experience was okay. Reasonable prices and a good range. After sales service pretty poor - especially trying to get your staff delivered. Had to ring and ring.

A big management issue here with the company.. They need to change or they will eventually lose all clientele.

Poor service and ongoing lies – When I ordered my goods over a month ago, I was told that just about everything was in stock (it was a large order for two bathrooms) but that I should call back the next day to arrange delivery. On phoning back, I was told that "most" things were in stock but that I would have to wait up to 2-3 weeks for a few of the items. I told them that it… Read more

was unacceptable and wanted to cancel the order. They then said that they'd make a delivery the next day. Sure enough, a single toilet was delivered the next day. After complaining and making threats to cancel my order, another couple of items were delivered. With the price of plumbers, this is useless because I don't want to call them out to install a single toilet, and then a single set of taps, and again for a shower head etc etc. My plumber quoted me for reconnecting all items for both bathrooms in a single visit. Because of this, I have two uncompleted bathrooms waiting for all of the items to be delivered.

After making the order, I realised that they are not as cheap as other places too. They have a reasonable selection of items on show but my advice is to avoid them because your renovations will run weeks behind schedule costing you even more in the short term, not to mention ongoing stress of having to chase up for every single item, spending hours on the phone to them.

Only buy from them if you only need the items in at least 5 weeks time. Very few of us have that lead time for bathroom renovations. Showroom had a decent selection and the staff were reasonably attentive whilst you're in the store The display is deceptive as things are often not available for weeks/months. Poor service once you've paid for the goods

Torture – We ordered basic bathroom products on november 9 2013. A vanity, taps, mirrors etc -nothing too challenging for a bathroom renovation company, or so we thought. To make it short: week 3:"we'll deliver 'some' of it next week". Delivery day "we broke the vanity and we can't get the mirror". Several weeks later: "we gave some of your order to someone… Read more

else" another few weeks "we just checked but the supplier is on holiday until mid next month - we can't get one" (at this point i asked for them to order a 'second best' option that we really weren't happy with). Weeks later; "we forgot to place your "changed order" (like it was my fault!). So, back to the original supplier for the original vanity (we're up to mid-january now). It's coming in next week ... Next monday ... Next week...Maybe wednesday.... Guaranteed tomorrow.... Well now perhaps monday ....On and on ...

February 8th.2014. One day short of three calendar months, dozens of phone calls, pleading, putting off the plumber day after day we are promised a phone call to confirm the arrival of the vanity at camperdown. Nothing. We chase it up (again!) and then have to go and fetch it ourselves despite having paid for delivery ('the van broke down!").

We were treated with contempt. We were lied to. This is the worst customer service we've ever encounter

Never, never, again. If you're contemplating dealing with them don't... You'll end up an alcoholic, twitching, foul mouthed mess!

Bleak, disrespectful, dishonest customer service.

Terrible customer service - misinformation, poor communication and advice – I ordered a floor mixer to replace a previously purchased one that was not suitable. be suitable, only to be informed that it would take 6 weeks to be delivered as it was not in stock. However, the salesman (Dimitry) showed me an alternative model, which he informed me was exactly the same with regards to the installation method and convinced me to order this one instead, as it would be in store in 3 - 5 days. The item actually arrived 3 weeks later and I went to pick it up. On inspecting it, I could immediately see that it was not the same at all as the original one I had looked at, and I was reluctant to take it. As it was a special order, I was told I was not able to return it by the warehouse. After much discussion with the manager etc I was advised by the in house plumber (Hugh) that this mixer was absolutely able to be installed on a concrete slab floor and my plumber would have no problem installing it. Of course, this was not the case, and I was left trying to return the item once again. After much persuasion, they took back the mixer and ordered me in the one I had originally looked at, which was now apparently in stock in Sydney and could be couriered to the warehouse as soon as I paid the difference in price (Friday). This then changed to "their delivery driver would be able to pick it up when he made his run on Monday or Tuesday", which has now been amended to "it should be delivered to the warehouse with the normal delivery on Thursday or Friday". At this point, I still have no mixer, am nearly $700 out of pocket, have spent at least 5 hours and four separate trips to the Renovation Boys warehouse and store in Camperdown, ages on the phone being told I'd be called back in "2 minutes"(which I wasn't) and been lied to at least half a dozen times. The installation instructions and specifications I asked for to ensure there was no issue again were being faxed across "in the next few minutes" but a week later have not materialised. I really feel the staff and management will just tell you anything to get you to buy the item they want to offload on you, and will happily "amend" the truth about delivery times or even the item itself in order to get a sale. Never again!! Decent prices on some items - but buyer beware! Serious misinformation about products, delivery times not even close to accurate, poor communication and service

be delayed until mid November. On Thursday 21st November I rang to see if it had arrived intending to collect it on Monday 25th November. I was advised that the 4th container was currently being unpacked but Monday should be fine. As a precaution I rang on Monday to arrange collection only to be advised that the whole shipment was being returned to China due to quality issues and the next consignment would arrive in late January 2014. Meanwhile I have a renovated bathroom with no shower enclosure. After a lot of toing and froing I was offered a replacement with a pivot door. I reluctantly agreed to accept that as I really had no option as I have family coming to stay over the Christmas period. The replacement package was dispatched on Thursday 28th November to Blue Star Logistics. Eventually I was given the details, on the 3rd December 2013, of the consignment advice and rang Blue Star Logisitcs only to find that it had be sent to an onforwarding company and that they would contact the third party and advise me when I could expect delivery.

At this point I have to say that the Renovation Boys advised that I had to pay for the freight, bar a small difference between the cost of the slider agianst the pivot door. So much for any goodwill towards the customer who has had to compromise or had to wait for another 2 months to see if the original product would arrive.

Please understand that I have no beef with Blue Star Logistics as they are doingtheir best to ensure that my consignment arrives.

As for the Renovation Boys...........over promise and under deliver. I would not recommend this company to anybody. The design Non delivery

The full story of Renovation Boys (make up your own mind) – RENOVATION BOYS (make up your own mind)... I have had the worst experience with this company, I ordered my bathroom pieces (Vizzini Veta Bath, Cambridge 900mm Vanity, Timberland Shaving Cabinet, Vizzini Lucio Toilet (Geberit Flush System), Diamond Shower Screen and 3 sets of Dorf Tapware on the 10th of November. Just shy of $3,500 worth and I… Read more

prepaid. The order came in 5 separate deliveries over 3 weeks, not including my 5 return trips for wrong items and countless phone calls...

The first of my issues started with the bath being delivered. I was told that it would be on the morning run and here by 10am and it turns out it wasn’t. I rung back and was asked who told me that, I didn’t write down the person’s name. I rung several times only to be shuffled from one person to the next with no clarification as to what time it would be delivered but I would be given an hour’s notice. I had to leave work early as the builder got tired of waiting (it came at about 3pm, with the vanity and most of the tapware). This was a frustrating experience but nothing compared to what was to come. I learnt my first lesson, to write down everyone’s name when I spoke to them.

The toilet I ordered was Vizzini Lucio and I was told it would be coming on Monday 25th, I had organised the plumber to be there to install it. I called Renovation Boys, customer service and confirmed on Monday morning that the toilet was in and it would be coming out. I met the delivery guy and guess what no toilet, the shower screen came but it was not the item I needed at this time and it turns out this was also a problem but I will get onto that in a moment. Back to the toilet, I called customer service and was told the toilet would not be in stock till Thursday the 28th and would be delivered to me on Friday the 29th, he was very apologetic about the toilet. I was frustrated but what else could I do. I decided to call them on Wednesday 27th to see if there was any progress on the order and turns out the toilet was in stock (no call to let me know), so I arranged to pick it up rather than try and organise delivery. I went and picked up toilet on Wednesday afternoon after work from Camperdown Warehouse.

Thursday 28th I had taken the day off, both the builder and the plumber were here to install the vanity and the toilet. We opened the box for the vanity top, they had sent me out a one tap hole vanity top, that is not what I asked for. But I found out that is what was ordered by the salesman as he had written 1 TH (however he did sell me tapware for a three tap hole). So I called to try and get Renovation Boys to come and exchange, best they stated they could do was Monday (4 days). So I got in my car with the vanity top and went down to Camperdown. While I was away the plumber opened the toilet box it was a KDK not a Vizzini and it didn’t have a Geberit Flush System, it had a cheap unbranded system. When I returned back home with the replacement 3 taphole vanity top it had a manufacturers fault where the tapware wouldn’t fit through the hole properly and couldn't be installed correctly. I called Renovation Boys to try and resolve the issue, they refused to send out the correct stuff by courier and said that they still couldn’t do anything about it till Monday. Keeping in mind I am paying both the plumber and the builder for their time. So I put the toilet and the vanity top in my car and took them down there myself. I got a lot of apologies about all the mistakes but not much action. At the Warehouse they took the Geberit Flush System out of another Vizzini Cistern and put it in my KDK Cistern and reassured me that KDK was the same as a Vizzini. A ex-plumber fiddled with the vanity top trying to make some taps fit, which he couldn’t and stated that the manufacturer was at fault and that I should drive home with the vanity top and wait for a call from the manufacturer. I said no way that I would go with him while he made the call so I would know what was going on. So we went up to the showroom. While I was waiting I noticed a potential customer over near the Vizzini Lucio toilet that I had ordered and never got. I approached them and told them of my experience. Another salesman came over and escorted me away from the showroom area and turned to the guy who had brought me up to the showroom and said “Why did you bring him up here?”. I was ushered back down to the warehouse, this time with a different staff member we will call A. This man was a rare find and did everything he possibly could do to try and make the situation better. He spent some time with me and we were able to find another vanity top in the warehouse (wave top) not what I ordered but I am happy with it now. He also said he would take me upstairs to the showroom to see about getting me some sort of compensation for all the mistakes to date. The salesman who had ushered me out came back with an offer of 20% off some towel rails and a toilet roll holder. About a saving of $20, needless to say I walked out holding my tongue. So I left thankful to A who tried his best.

Friday 29th I was at work and I get a call from the builder who opened the shower screen boxes and I couldn’t believe my ears. They had sent out both the shower screens walls hinged (obviously you can only use one hinged one). I called Renovation Boys and asked for A who organised delivery of the right shower screen by courier (and it arrived within a few hours). Later that day I get another call from the builder who was assembling the shower screen and he had discovered that some of the parts, a rail and bottom door seal were missing. It was too late in the day by this stage to get it to the builder in time. I called Renovation Boys again and said I would come and pick it up on Saturday. This day cost me a lot of money and the builder didn’t get much done.

Saturday 30th I picked up the door seals from the Warehouse. I spoke to a guy in the warehouse about my experience and he did his best to empathise, he suggested that I go and speak to the sales manager which I did but a bit reluctantly. She listened to me, I told her the whole ordeal, she organised those same items plus a few more that I had previously been offered a 20% discount on for free. A single towel rail, a double towel rail, a toilet roll holder and a robe hook about $170 worth and issued me with an invoice to take to the warehouse. I went and collected the items from the warehouse and left. I had a look at the items when I got home, no double towel rails but 2 single towel rails. At this point I’m feeling like the idiot for not checking and in hindsight perhaps with everything that had happened I should have checked. So not even upset, past upset just tired. I called Renovation Boys and spoke to customer service again and said I would come in and swap the items myself on Sunday. Now what happened surprised me, I received a call from A he stated that he had seen the review I had written (not as detailed as this one and written on Saturday before what I hope is the end of the story) and wondered if there was anything he could do to resolve the issues that had gone on. He offered, obliged and came out himself to my place and swapped the towel rail, delivered the shaving cabinet the last item (told 2 hours before in the store that this wouldn’t be in till the 4th of December) and took away not only the unused wrong shower screen but all the garbage and empty boxes lying around. This guy went above and beyond and was even late getting out of my place for his wife’s Christmas party, sorry Mrs A.

Overall my experience with this company is one I would prefer to forget and without a doubt the worst experience I have ever had as a customer. Their processes with sending stuff out and checking that items are correct needs to be looked at and changed or perhaps implemented as they may not even exist. To my knowledge selling, advertising and displaying Vizzini and sending KDK is false advertising. They need to train their staff around understanding what a contract is with a customer and seller and not trying to send me off to deal with the manufacturer. They are the representative of the manufacturer. They ought to spend more money on customer service and less on advertising. Perhaps A should be put in charge of customer service??? One particular worker "A" Incorrect items, notice of delivery times, customer service

Nothing good about this business – Their prices may be cheap but their service is terrible. You call them and they say your prodicts are ready to collect. When you call into the warehouse they cant find things. I have been back times to collect things I have paid for and had to go and buy a toilet elsewhere as I had a tenant moving into my property. Now I am chasing them for a… Read more

refund. They never return calls. Every time I went to collect things there were other customers having the same problems as me. Even their staff tell you that it is a terrible place to work adn they have unhappy customers every day. Maybe they should spend less on advertising and more on customer service.

Delays, missing products, wrong products, promises made but never kept.

Never Delivered – I found dealing with the company very difficult and not worth the few dollars of savings they offer. We ordered and paid for products over two month ago and we still have not received them. I have driven to the warehouse twice from over an hour way after calling and been told that my order was in to get there and be told that it was not. I was… Read more

then told they would send it to me express post the next day, a week later I am still waiting and having to pay labours twice because of the Renovation Boys incompetence. Save yourself the pain and go somewhere else.

Customer service, warehouse and showroom communication, never receiving the products I have paid for.

The worst online experience i've ever had!! Dont do it! – Do not order from Renovation Boys!! I purchased online and after weeks and weeks of lost time and chasing up and listening to broken promises, the product finally turned up......it was smashed. I emailed at least a dozen times and spoke to sales, then to the GM and although he was very apologetic, I did not get the goods I ordered. Hours of… Read more

wasted time chasing them up. I have asked for a refund, yet I have not heard from them. So so poor. Don't use them, you will regret it!

Very very poor service

Faulty Towers of Bathroom Supply Wholesalers – I have never before been moved to write a review about any company that I have dealt with, but after dealing with Renovation Boys, I want to do all I can to warn anyone else out there that is thinking of buying from them just dont! I ordered delivery of my product three weeks before requested delivery date. The items did not arrive on the… Read more

scheduled day, despite my calling that morning and confirming that delivery would be made. After about 10 phone calls (I'm not exaggerating) the items finally arrived at 7.30pm the day after they were supposed to, and lo and behold, 1/2 the items were missing. When I contacted the store once again, they advised that unfortunately, those items were now obsolete or on backorder for another 6 weeks. They also forgot to order my custom made vanity from Timberline, so there was to be a delay on delivery for that as well. After much haggling and pressuring I finally received a refund for the items which they did not supply, but am still awaiting my vanity and shaving cabinet which was supposed to be delivered on 9th October 2013. These guys have no idea what they are doing. In the end I believe no saving could possibly be worth it. Don't give your money to these crooks.

Unreliable, poor service, very bad business practices

Follow my lead – Hi, I recently made the same mistake and used this useless company....... It was nothing more than the worst customer experience I have ever had. The only way I had my money returned and order cancelled after weeks was by getting tough with them! Basically I lodged a complaint with the Department of Fair Trading and advised the "manager" that I… Read more

had done so, I told them that if I did not receive my refund by the next day I would issue them with an invoice with 7 day payment terms. If I was to still be waiting for my refund I was then going to lodge my complaint with the Sheriff.........

Funnily enough the day after lodging my complaint with the Department of Fair Trading my refund was processed. Not to mention the incompetence of this company that they still sent the product after the fact so ended up wasting $$$$$ on delivery costs. [censored word removed].

I hope this helps anyone who falls for using this useless mob.

Worst than terrible – So far we are waiting more than 5 weeks with still not the full order delivered. No call backs when we try to find out where our stuff is. Some delivered but the rest of the order is wrong items. say they can a particular thing but then when it doesn't arrive they say the sales person got it wrong. Great advertising. Complete disaster from beginning to end.

Efforts made to resolve issues – I did have several issues with either supply or getting warranty claims evaluated for bathroom supplies. These have since been rectified by Renovation Boys, admittedly after a lengthy process and I am satisfied with the outcome. I expressed concern about the genuineness of a branded product and have since been contacted by the company and… Read more

guaranteed the paperwork to support its origin and legitimacy. I am happy to admit if I'm wrong and will update again when I've received it and been fully reassured. Genuine concern to resolve issues Length of time taken to resolve issues

Terrible – Never use this company - my plumber also says he tells his clients to steer clear of them i wish i had known _ poor service and quality - if you ever get to receivethe item i ordered a vanity from reno boys in camperdown in april 2013. I went to collect the item to discover the wrong thing had been ordered (by the manager no less). The correct… Read more

vanity was then supposedly ordered, again it was the wrong item. On the 3rd attempt, in sep 2013 i then received a call from ben saying the correct vanity was in stock and available for collection, i went to the warehouse on 25 sep to collect the item and was told that the vanity was in fact not in stock. The warehouse manager and staff member ben said it was on order and would be available no later than mon 30 sep. Noone called me on mon 30 sep. I contacted ben and was told the vanity was not available, he promised to call me back. Despite calls to ben and emails to the manager luke savan, none has been in touch to update me on the delivery .It is now 4 oct. The vanity has been paid for now for many month, nobody at renovation boys has a clue what is going on. I make at least 6 phone calls to them each week. It is costing me a fortune in lost rent, plumbers costs. Still ongoing. I am now in contact with dept of fair trading. Lisa bondi
