This is the worst storage company to deal with. We paid over $600 a month to store our VERY EXPENSIVE furniture and electronics for a large house.… Read more

Two days ago, we received a phone call that due to simply a rainy day, ALL OUR EXPENSIVE FURNITURE, ELECTRONICS AND BOXES are damaged. When we arrived at the facility, they had labels on many units to state that they were heavily drenched with water half way up. People were running around their units frantically. OUR unit had all the items on the floor drenched – boxes and electronics, and all the furniture had water damage, particularly at the bottom half, with some bits going soft. Fair Trading and other storage facilities in the area informed us that the only explanation as to how this occurred would be due to blocked pipes and poor irrigation systems, which may lead to pipes bursting and drenching units. They informed us that we have a claim, however, any reputable company would compensate us immediately for their gross negligence. Interestingly, none of the other storage facilities that we contacted had any issues that day. We went to speak to their so called “operations manger”, [Name Removed], who is nothing short of a dodgy bully. Instead of apologising, and taking the proper action of compensating us for our loss caused by her company’s negligence, she informed us that the company bares NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR ANY OF THE DAMAGES that were caused by the company’s negligence, and that we bear all costs of all the damaged expensive items. I rang head office to discuss the matter with the CEO, and [Name Removed] who works as a receptionist would not put me through to anyone above [Name Removed], obviously to protect her as they seem to be a mob of thieves/gang. In going in to assess the furniture, [Name Removed] informed us that they had been into the unit to vacuum the water out and air it. To our SHOCK and HORROR, our belongings have been shuffled around, with expensive chairs thrown around on top of very expensive furniture, and obviously, in getting in to air and vacuum the unit, someone had to JUMP ON OUR CHINA BOXES AND DELICATE LIGHTL COLOURED FURNITURE TO GET TO THE BACK. Boxes were squashed resulting in broken very expensive China everywhere, and SHOE DIRT STAINS were all over our cream and red velvet Italian dining chairs and lounge. [Name Removed] sent only 2 men to move a huge house, into another storage unit (given the water damage), when we were informed at least 3 men are needed. We had to leave work, and be with the men for 5 hours until 10.30 pm, to help, whilst the staff and [Name Removed] went home and left us in the middle of the problem they caused. At 10.00 pm the removalists informed [Name Removed] they need to come back today, with an extra person, to move the rest of the furniture from the wet unit. SHE REFUSED. NOW, WE HAVE HALF OUR FURNITURE STLL IN THE WET UNIT, DRENCHED, and the other half in another unit at a different location. THIS IS A DISASTER CAUSED BY A VERY INCOMPETENT OPERATIONS MANAGER. We are now initiating legal proceedings, and will file a complaint to FAIR TRADING. We are also taking further action against the operations manager, [Name Removed], to ensure that this does not happen to others. SHOCKINGLY, BESIDE THE POOR IRRIGATION, THERE WAS ALSO EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF RAT WASTE ALL OVER OUR FURNITURE, AND IN THE BOXES. THIS IS THE MOST APPLING AND DISGUSTING COMPANY ran by the most incompetent operations manager and a gang that thinks that they are above the law. WE WILL GET OUR RIGHTS. FOR OTHERS, PLEASE DON’T USE THEIR FACILITIES, AND IF YOU ARE USING THEM, CHECK YOUR BELONGINGS AND TAKE THEM ELSEWHERE!

Absolute Pests – I was in need of an online quote as we may have needed temporary storage. Rent a Space called me twice on the first morning afterward as well as emailed and texted me. Long Term Up to Date Customer in Collections – After more than 7 years I received today another increase, this time a 20% increase on a small monthly unit at Girraween... I had been informed previously no notice was required several times once initial period served. I gave them notice eftective immediately, and the Manager said he was referring me to Collections! Really? Up to date and referred to Collections??? This is how they treat long standing excellent customers!

A special mention also goes to our driver, Jenny, who made what could have been a very stressful moving experience feel effortless. She was patient, understanding, and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. Many companies in this industry seem focused on charging customers for every minute and treating the process as purely transactional. Rent A Space Bella Vista was the complete opposite. They genuinely cared about helping me, reducing the stress of the move, and finding solutions that worked for my situation.

What stood out most was that every interaction felt personal. Everyone always had a smile on their face, treated me with respect, and made me feel valued as a customer rather than just another number. It’s clear that this team prioritises customer experience over simply maximising revenue, which is something that has become increasingly rare.

This is the standard of service that competitors should be striving for, but in my experience, they don’t even come close.

Thank you Shanice, Rowena, Martin, and Jenny for making a challenging time so much easier. I would not hesitate to recommend Rent A Space Bella Vista to anyone looking for storage and moving services.

I've been using the Padstow branch for well over six months as a soul trader is a perfect way to stow tools & equipment the delivery system also works well.
