A small family business where the customer and their work are their primary concern. I was quoted by 2 other dealers for work after a service on my car. JC Automotives did the job for 1/3 of the cost. Plus, I am disabled, and they ensured that I was driven home and the car was delivered. The work standard was excellent, and the care was even… Read more

Urangan Service Centre, HERVEY BAY, awesome vehicle repairer – While travelling north from Victoria, we had clutch trouble in our Mazda BT50. As we were to be staying at the Pier Caravan Park, I rang the business, URANGAN SERVICE CENTRE, HERVEY BAY QLD, as it was close by to our destination. Greeted on the phone by Renee, who listened to my problem, assessed what was needed and ordered the parts. When we… Read more

arrived the parts were there and the job was done in a couple of days, along with other work needed, all the time I was kept in the loop on progress. On pick up, the ute looked like new as they had washed it, and it drove even better. And we have the bonus of an Australian wide Repco warranty. We cannot recommend this business enough! Thank you guys! Leigh and Jen. This is an honest review, I have no affiliation with this business whatsoever. Vic Reg 1CK 2ZK If things were crapp, believe me I would reflect it here!

Fantastic experience!! – Thanks to Ian and the team at Autocare Mt gambier for fitting us in without notice for repairs, and getting me back on the road the same day. We would highly recommend this service centre if traveling through Mt gambier.

Repco Mornington Tas Car Serice – Excellent receptionists, friendly and helpful. Half the cost of the dealership where I got my car from. One suggestion might be for servicers/mechanics to check their shoes for dirt - I had a load left on my new mats - but because of the happy staff and excellent pricing I didn't say anything. I want to go back! :-) Thank you!

Exmouth – I still have stress, anxiety issues thinking about our experience there in 2019. That left us trapped unnecessarily in various accommodation which was hard to find in Exmouth while waiting a week all because of our wheel bearings needing replacement. Even the locals said we should have stayed clear of them. No choice as we were towed.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE PEOPLE!!! – I have a Mercedes ML350. All i needed was an auxiliary battery and install of airbags for my rear suspension that I had. told me that i had wait an hour for the mechanic to come back!!! Eventually he told me that the airbags wont go down. Then he said that some of the buttons in my car for comfort mode/sports mode and the 4 wheel drive etc. aren't working and they don't know why! My electrics worked before i took it there now it doesn't!!! This cost me $2500! I had to take it back as the airbags completely deflated. This cost me $950 and still not fixed! Eventually they admitted that they cant fix my car. $3400 mistake!!! its now sitting in my driveway.

Above average prices for below average mechanics – Took my car into repco at airport west Melbourne as I'm new in the area. flushes and cheapo tyres and cost me over 2k and car still has issues starting. I thought to take it back but I know they will try and milk more money out of me and probably do more harm then good. Cut my losses. Learnt to be a little more sceptical with Google reviews. They had a 4 star rating but only around 20 reviews so who knows how many of these were made up. Hope no one else gets stung like me. Some business think they are getting ahead but ripping people off but word of mouth always wins.

It would have been nice if the repairer had actually put the right amount of refrigerant gas into my car A/C – After spending over $2000.00 to get the A/C system completely repaired in my European Sedan at Repco Munno Para (Adelaide) back in April, the car airconditing was still barely cooling the car. (This was despite having a replacement compressor, seals, condenser, serpentine belt, main and minor pullys replaced and and an a/ replacement filter put… Read more

in.) So I took my car to a friend who is a retired refrigeration mechanic and he diagnosed the problem......not enough refrigerant gas in the system. Not leaking as he checked for leaks under pressure, using a flourescent dye (at least they did that part of the job right) but simply they were too "lazy, disinterested and or dishonest (my friend advises me that refrigerant gas is extremely expensive) so it seems the mechanic only put just enough in to make the air conditioning run............but not cool down properly. My friend topped up the amount of refrigerant gas in the system, and now the inside of my car with the a/c on (even at low speed) is beautifully cold. Oh and to run salt into this shomozzle of a situation, the owner of the franchise told me, (when I was paying for the repairs) if the car a/c doesn't cool down enough, its probably because the a/c thermostat is sticking??? My friend has checked this and this is found to be a load of old bollocks......No it's not a new car............but at the end of the day, my money is as good as anyone elses and it should not matter what type of vehicle I bring to you........(so long as its not stolen or defected???) Has left a really bad taste in my mouth....Its very hot at the moment, and I do a lot of driving and haven't had properly working airconditing. It took a 69 year old pensioner to fix my problem (which he did for $25.00, which was the cost of one additional can of refrigerant gas. Shame on you REPCO MUNNO PARA!

Incompetent – Took my suv in for an oil, oil filter and fuel filter change. change. They could not reset the service metre I suggested they use their scan tool but they insisted it would not work. After much pushing from me they called a Jeep dealer who told them to use the G-scan! Then I suspected they had used the wrong grade of oil but they insisted it was correct. I contacted Penrite oil who confirmed my suspicion so I returned the next morning but still they insisted I and Penrite were wrong. Cut a long story short Penrite paid for them to replace the oil because they refused. They did however refund me the difference in the price of the oil There is a reason why all other workshops are book full for four to five days in advance and their workshop is relatively quiet.....

Doubled the cost – City Automotive Mornington, Tasmania, quoted over double the cost to replace front lower control arms on a 2006 Polo GTI... the VW service centre was less than half of their quote and they're known for ridiculously high prices. Absolutely disgraceful way to conduct a business.

A secret that needs to be told – I was struggling to get a decent quote to service my Pajero. Too expensive didn't include everything in the quote. Poor workmanship in Exmouth service – We broke down and got towed back to Exmouth Repco Authorised Service as coming back to Perth from our holiday in Exmouth. We were told that the transmission pump of our Toyota Camry had failed, and the whole gearbox needed to be changed at a staggering cost of $7,000. Furthermore, first they installed an incorrect transmission, which caused more… Read more

delay, and we had to rent a car to get back to Perth on time (after missing an extra week from employment), causing additional costs.

After coming back to Perth and contacting our regular service, we were advised that if we had the problem they told us, it would have not been possible to still have drive from the transmission. We got other contradictory statements from them, too.

After the completion of repairs the Traction Control Light is still on, as the mechanic could not clear or calibrate this problem. When I asked him to cover the cost of calibration, he did not even reply. The faulty spiral cable needs to be replaced, cost is $603. The possible cause of this failure if that the steering was not locked when fitting the transmission, causing internal damage to the spiral cable mechanism upon reassembly.

Poor workmanship at every level, will seek legal advice and proceed further.

Ripped off twice – The Victoria Point Repco Service centre charges nearly 100$ to scan a cars computer. This is a 2 minute job. I am surprised I wasnt charged 50$ per spanner movement. (nearly 100$ for 2min job) as I thought maybe wires where crossed between when I spoke on the phone and went in.

I used a second time as I was told the engine was bouncing around to much and likely the mounts where going. They requested I drop the car off the night before which I did. I received a call saying the mounts where not to bad but the brake discs needed machining. I was aware of a slight grab feel and was really surprised he thought that was more an issue. I said just change the engine mounts.

When I got the car back, yet again I was charged nearly $100 for a scan that was not required. What was worse was when I drove it away the brakes where terrible. After having the front disc's machined by someone else that small grab was back again as the next mechanic told me it wasn't serious but I'd need to eventually have the rear discs machined. The car did feel like the mounts had been changed though, not as shaky on warm up.

Been to Repco twice. Crap. Never will go again – Been twice. Once cooked my engine by Repco not plugging in the fan after the service, apparently this was my problem for not watching the guage. Then, another store 2 years later, doubled the bill from the quote, because their girl 'made a mistake", but i still had to pay. How was that my fault? Never, ever, trust Repco. Back to KTAS for me.

Can fix almost any problem – I recently took my car here for a strange noise and wobble from the back or my car when I tried to take passengers. The staff were quick to discover the issue and contacted me to get my approval for the work to be done. Within a couple of hours the job was completed. The men who work here are friendly and approachable and never make me feel inferior about my lack of knowledge in car maintenance. Their prices are very reasonable.

My experience was not good – My experience is about getting a roadworthy check done at Repco Agent, Temby Auto in Eltham Victoria. I received the quote of $195 for the check and paid in advance. After the first inspection I was told there were faults that needed fixing. Some were faulty, some were not. I fixed the faulty issues and took the car back for the second… Read more

inspection. But I was told that inspection failed because of 2 issues. The man said my headlights needed aiming. Also he said the front wheels needed an align. I told him that I had done those 2 items myself. He said that the work had to be done on a special machine or he would not issue the RWC certificate to me. He then asked for $89 to have each item done on his machines ($178)

He showed me a printout from his front end machine that claimed my front wheels were pointing outward 3mm too much (the thickness of a matchstick) Although I have not worked as a mechanic for decades, I are a qualified mechanic. And I have never heard of the front end align being part of the RWC process. And in relation to the headlight aim, I had always thought it to be accepted to just align the lights against a wall.

Anyway I was then handed another bill for $120 being for the second inspection. My past experiences was that the second inspection usually only took a short time and was built into the quoted price of the RWC. And if a garage charged for the second inspection it should have been mentioned when I first asked for the quote. But at that point of time I did not know what the official rules were.

But the man did not stop there. He then said that because I had failed the second inspection that I would have to have a complete new inspection. He then said he would not charge me the full $195 for the new inspection but only charge $99 to cover the Vic Roads costs.

I then realized that I would have to pay a total of $592 for the RWC certificate or leave with nothing and lose my $195. I went to leave. He grabbed the keys from my car and said I had to pay $120 for the second inspection or I would not get my car. He then called me a fool (for not paying) and went into his office.

I then walked home and rung up Vic Roads to ask about the RWC rules. I spoke to a number of people but none gave a straight answer. But one said the garage did not have the right to seize my car and it was a police issue.

I then went to Eltham police station and was passed between 3 different police. But none could answer the RWC questions or if the garage had the right to seize my car.

One of the police then rung up the garage. He then told me to go to the garage and they will give me my car. He did not say if they should or should not give me the car, but just that they will give me my car.

I then went to the garage and the lady asked me to pay the $120. I refused. The mechanic then drove the car out the garage and gave me the key.

I then booked my car into another garage for the RWC. That mechanic told me it was the usual practice for the second inspection to be built into the quoted price of a RWC. And that garage passed my RWC and gave me the certificate.

After that experience, I went to 10 different garages to ask if it was standard practice for the second inspection to be free and built into the overall cost. 9 garages said it was free and one said they charged a $30 fee. I also asked if the front end align and headlight aim had to be done on a special machine. None said it did. I was told if the front end had no worn parts and the car drove and felt correctly, then that was all that was required.

I then contacted Vic Roads to ask if Temby auto had acted within the RWC rules.

Vic Roads said it was not their issue as to what a garage charged for the RWC or if they could charge for the second inspection.

Vic Roads said that Temby Auto had the right to request that my headlights be aligned on their special machine.

In relation to the front end align Vic Roads said that Temby auto had the right to request my car have a front end align if they felt something was wrong.

And as to the issue of having to get a complete new inspection if the tester wishes to fail the second inspection. Vic roads said that if the second inspection fails, the a complete new inspection needs to take place. Even if it is within the 7 days.

I asked Vic Roads To give me a written reply but they declined and phoned me with the information

Everything I just wrote is true.

Also I wish to add to my review. The garage had also told me that my headlight globe was out of it's holder and needed to be refitted. Later, when I looked, the globe was out of the clip and supported by the wires. I refitted the globe as there was nothing wrong with the holding clip. If the globe was out of the holder in the time prior to me taking the car to the garage, I thought I would have noticed the beam jumping up and down on the road as the globe was loose on the wires. The globe was behind a plastic cover which protected it from being accidentally dislodged when working on the car. I do wonder if someone had pulled the globe out for sabotage

Complete rip Off and criminal negligence – Repco on number 1 Stanbel Rd, Salisbury Plain, SA 5109 kept my car for over two weeks. range. After two long weeks, I decided it wasn't worth spending all that money on my car and I asked them I didn't want to go ahead with the job and that I wanted my car back. They still billed me $265 and my car was not repaired.

One year later after basically having my car parked in my driveway doing nothing I decided to try and find someone to see if I could repair her before I sent her to the car scrap yard in the sky. A mobile mechanic came over and fixed the problem within 5 minutes, no exaggeration. It was The time delay Relay switch not the ECU and the cost? $100 all up.

Moral of this story is be careful who you take your car to and try to get multiple quotes if you can before you get your car repaired.
