China made, no quality control – Quite disappointed in what I received for the premium price they charge. Retro Designs obviously does no internal quality control. chips in corners and the flat pack stuff is the worst I have ever seen in any flat pack I have seen in my years. 90% of it might look good but the 10% thats not, is chipped/scuffed/marked panels and edge, noticeable glue still needs removing and thats not including the joke of instruction manual.

If your interested in Retro Designs furniture (which is made in china) do yourself a favour and just take their design to a good local cabinet maker and see what they charge you to make you a flat pack.

Terrible experience with Retro Designs and Handy Trucks (Delivery Company) – Again, just another asian supplier not providing good service or good material. the crate. Retro Designs is telling me constantly it has nothing to do with them and I need to deal with Handy Truck directly to sort it out. My purchase was with Retro Designs, not with Handy Trucks. Handy Trucks is ignoring the emails and text messages as they do not really check either of them. Be prepared to get TV units with minor blemishes (both of mine have). I have taken this to Fair Trading now.

Amazing 4.2m tv unit – I was skeptical making this purchase but knowing i could return and get money back garanteed helped with the purchase. Let me tell you, there is no need for a return. Terrible company to deal with – We paid for furniture that was never delivered. Still waiting for a refund. They blamed the courier and were extremely unhelpful on the phone. I was told that they needed the items returned to them before getting a refund - items they hadn’t delivered.

The Zenova White corner TV Entertainment unit – I purchased this unit online hoping it would be as good as it looked in the ad for it. It arrived within a few days of order and I am very happy with it . It is certainly just as described in the pictures. I would certainly recomend Retro Designs for service and quality

Reasonable Product. Awful delivery and damaged product – Purchased a 2.4m entertainment unit. Sent fully assembled product with a general courier. 1 guy to move a 74kg item which he was only going to put under cover in the garage in its shipping crate. Item was damaged during shipping. to be to accept a partial refund (<10% of purchase price and much less than the shipping cost) and receive a new top to replace the damaged one. They processed the claim and shipped the new piece very promptly. I had to install the new top which took some time (dowels and cams) and obviously I need to dispose of the damaged top myself. I would not purchase a larger item from them again.

Poor delivery service – Given that most negative reviews related to the delivery process I asked specifically about it and was assured that you use a specialty courier service with two men who would bring the unit inside ( but not unpack it). was home alone so refused to accept it. The delivery guy then carried the unit on his shoulder into the house. Two pieces weighing 40 kgs and 56 kgs . You really should address your delivery service.

Love the TV Cabinet – Never thought that I would buy a TV unit online but their 14 days return policy gave me assurance that they trust their own products. Great quality floating cabinet! Only problem - they have the item listed on sale for as long as six months now and it says Ends Sunday. It is very misleading and don’t be fooled of this.

Good Sale Bad Support – The Good I’ve made two separate purchases from Retro Design. The first being one White Expressia Wall Mounted TV Cabinet ($750), then three coffee tables - White Metro side table ($747 in total for three). entertainment unit, and move the coffee tables around). I also believe these items are competitively priced and the customer service representative was very helpful on a sales phone enquiry. Both sets of items were delivered promptly. The Bad I experienced an incident just after the coffee tables had turned one year old. I slid the coffee table across the tiled floor, then one side of the coffee table became detached. On closer examination, I found the nut on the floor, also that that there was *no washer to maintain tension (this is the case for all three coffee tables). I tried to reinsert the rod through the side of the coffee table but I’m unable to screw it into the opposite end. If I was able to, then I would have just moved on, but still thought highly of Retro Designs. Unfortunately, I couldn’t screw it back in, despite well intentioned advice by Retro Designs after checking their stocked item. But I had a frustrating and protracted series of correspondence with Retro Design when I asserted my right for a replacement item under the Australian Consumer Law Consumer Guarantees Act 2011. My request was denied by the ‘Warranty Team’, then the ‘Sales Manager’ because “We do offer 1 year structural warranty where products are used in domestic environment and unfortunately your item has already passed its one year warranty period and the manufacturer will not replace this and there is nothing much we can do.” I provided extracts and links to the ACCC website to explain that the seller, not the manufacturer is responsible to remedy consumer issues, and that the act does not specify a blanket one year warranty period (as was the case prior to the introduction of the 2011 act). These facts were never acknowledged as applicable, except that the General Manager ([name removed]) said that they were aware of the consumer law and it was referenced in their terms and conditions. I tried to speak to her by phone to ascertain for myself if support staff would be adhering to the law in future cases, but my request was denied. However, I am most grateful [name removed] authorised a full refund on the three coffee tables as they are not in stock.

I would have rated Retro Design 5 stars based on my sale experience alone, or if I had received a replacement item after my first request. However, I’ve down graded my rating to 3 stars due to the experience described in the last paragraph.

Wow, better than expected! – Ordered the 2.4m high white gloss Suprilla TV unit, delivered within a week! Was so surprised at how beautiful this unit was, better then what I expected, very solid unit and all I had to do was just put the shelves in! It was very well packaged too. Great value for money. Brilliant product - these guys are great!! – I ordered online on Sunday and like others, doubtful about ordering online. Their money back guarantee reassured me. No need for that! Poor service – I placed an order online and received email confirmation. I waited three days without any contact and followed up as they advertise it will be shipped within 24 hours. They then advise that they cannot fill the order as they no longer had stock and the item had been discontinued. Extremely frustrating and annoying process. Would wonder what would have happened had I not contacted them. Avoid avoid avoid.

I phoned them today as our toddlers & pets have over the past 4 years stained and marked the white cushions covers. $85 for ALL new covers! Couldn't believe it, that is an amazing price considering how many cushions there are in so many assorted sizes and shapes.
