Guy made me wait for over hour. Charged me $213 and car not drivable, couldn’t go over 10km hr lucky wasn’t in accident. Lied and said was drivable
DO NOT USE ROAD ANGELS - I ran over a ladder on the M5 heading to my daughters' wedding which punctured my tyre. I was unaware my roadside assistance with another provider had expired so I called Road Angels. I was charged a fee of $208 for a call out fee. While waiting for Road Angels to turn up a gentleman stopped and changed my tyre. I… Read more
immediately cancelled my order online (even though the fee had already been deducted from my Credit Card). I then received a call from the technician to say he could not find me. I then told him not to worry as the tyre has now been changed. I emailed Road Angels to get a full refund, but they would only reimburse me $70.00. My 2nd email went unanswered. My 3rd email they said they could not refund the full amount. Very poor customer service with no empathy.
My tyre blew out today. On the recommendation of my insurer I contacted Roadangels.com.au. There are no phone numbers, you have to go online to fill out your details, rego, etc., then the next thing they ask for is payment upfront (AUD213 in my case). I received a text from them at 12.52pm saying a technician had been dispatched. (The technician… Read more
wasn’t notified until 1.35pm)
After doing all that I suddenly remembered I had automatic Audi roadside assist membership (silly me, I know) & so tried to cancel the call out with Roadangels.com.au at 1.12pm). I went to their chat box & let their ‘bot’ know assistance was no longer required (‘she’ wished me a good day ). Plus I sent them an email. I also went back to the online form & clicked ‘Assistance Completed’. Unfortunately that was too late - once you lodge a call out it cannot be cancelled, and of course the payment will not be refunded.
Audi turned up within 20 minutes & I was on my merry way soon after.
Almost two hours (2.40pm) after Roadangels said they had dispatched a technician, I got a call & text from said technician saying he was at the breakdown address & where was I? I told them I had cancelled the call out an hour & a half ago. He told me he got the call out notice at 1:35pm, almost half an hour after I had cancelled it.
At the same time I received a reply from roadangels stating:
‘It’s not possible to cancel your assistance request once your provider has been dispatched for your call out’ (He hadn’t been dispatched then).
‘Any disruptions to this schedule can cause delays and issues for future customers and for this reason, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations or change of mind.’
Really?! I had given them plenty of notice - could they not have communicated with or rerouted their workers ?
Insurers, please do not recommend Roadangels.com.au to anyone. I have given my insurer feedback on my experience.
P.S. There is no clarification on the payment page that the payment you are making is non-refundable.
It's a scam, DON'T USE. took my money and never showed. Currently seeking legal advice on getting my money back. I'm on disability payments on centerlink. To have $225 taken from me has really badly affected me.
Avoid using road angles if you can. I called for assistance for a dead battery. It took them over 1 hour to arrive. And after taking a quick look was told there was nothing they could do. I arranged roadside assistance with NRMA and they diagnosed the problem and replaced the battery.
Great experience with Road Angels! I recently started driving and didn’t realize that roadside assistance isn’t always included in comprehensive car insurance. So when I needed help, I booked a one-time service with Road Angels online. They sent me an email with live tracking of the person who was coming to help, which was very reassuring. The… Read more
mechanic arrived within 45 minutes, was friendly and helpful — he showed me how to use the kick-start process and also replaced the car battery. Really grateful for the quick and efficient service!
My grandson booked road angels for roadside support. After waiting an hour he called them and they said said it would be another 90 minutes. Grandson then cancelled the call. Road Angel's had not dispatched anyone but refused to refund the $180 callout fee.
Road Angel – Don't go near them no matter how desperate you are. First they take $185 from you and never show up. Then they cancelled the tow and left me in the lurch. Now I'm chasing for my refund. Just Google tow truck near me in future.
Fast and efficient – Road Angels have helped with my daughter's car on numerous occasions. Most recently they assisted with a dying battery that refused to start and sold a new battery on the spot. On each occasion they have been there in less than an hour. Highly recommended!
Nightmare – They can’t provide service and charge you $185 first then you will never find how to contact them. All no is hiding only email to contact. Avoiding it’s nightmare! You will never find a real person to contact unless they choice to contact you what a smart business. Read some other review don’t know how this company would still exist. I would stay with racv and only racv in future. Show details
If you want to WASTE 185 AUD, use this service! – 2:30 pm: We paid 189 (incl card fee) AUD to book a tow truck. At the time they claim to have this at your address in 1-1.5 hours. Note: the pick up was scheduled so we could take our broken down motorcycle to the service station before 5:00 pm (COB) 4:00 pm: The ETA team says the driver is 20 mins away. 4:25 pm: The ETA team says the driver… Read more
is 45 mins away.
Note: this means the bike will not make it to the servo in time. So we escalate and express concerns. The team reverts with - “option 1: we will proceed, pick up and drop off the bike outside the servo. Option 2: you can cancel and rebook”. We ask about the refund process for todays booking so we can re book for another day. They reply by saying we take this up through the website. The website has an enquiry form which claims responses within 2 hours.
Now: we have been scammed of 189 AUD. And don't have a solution yet. The bike is still broken down at the same location and we have to figure our way out.
Moral: the business should conduct an operations review / stop accepting accepting payments if they cannot fulfill service obligations.
The most pathetic, deceptive and inappreciable experience we have had.
The screenshot has been the same since 3 hours ago.
Left us stranded, took payment without service – Waited 2 hours for service, technician called from wrong address and was told they don't service the area. No contact information and the money was taken instantly without the service provided. Highly discourage anyone from using the service if you don't want to be left stranded.
Didn’t turn up!! – Was suggested to me from my insurance after I got a flat battery in the city. No phone number to call only a online booking. No explanation of conditions or fees/cancellation . They charged my credit card straight away without advising this would be the case. I got a text to say they would be there within the hour. After an hour, I got a text to… Read more
say they are on their way 35 mins away!!! I tried to cancel the service and there was no Phn number to contact them. Quick to take your money. I was able to cancel the job through the text & tracking. Not happy!!!

The worst costumer service ever! – My car got a flat battery, and no road assistant on my insurance policy. So, I was told to contact road angels which should go through the website. I asked for assistant and was told to stay with the car till the assistant arrives within an hour. I’m in Chatswood Westfiled carpark for over 1.5 hours and after sending 2 emails to support team… Read more
(there is no phone number for this site anywhere) have just received a text message that the assistant will arrive in 25 minutes. They took the money in a blink of an eye, and no customer service.
Do NOT use this company!!!! – They don’t have a contact number and they charged $175 and responded with a ‘Technician is on there way’ after 20mins of waiting they send a message saying they have no technician available this is a fraud!! I think the right thing to do is to check if there’s a technician available first before giving people hope and waisting their time I was… Read more
suggested this site by an insurance company to use as a one off I definitely won’t be using this company in the future!!!
Don't waste your time (or money) – Was recommended to call road angels by insurance company for a flat motorbike tyre. There is no number to call, only and online form. Filled it out and entered credit card details agreeing to pay $173 then waited. There was no real confirmation that I was getting a tow truck and after 15 mins a notification came through saying they would not be… Read more
able to fulfill my request due to being too busy.
Money was immediately taken and was told it would be returned within 3-5 business days. Doesn't seem appropriate when they couldn't even fulfill my request. They shouldn't be so quick to take the money out. A bit of a joke of an operation!!
Helpful and rather quick – Was stuck in Horsham during a drive from Melbourne to Adelaide and needed my car jump started. The service provider came rather quickly and I was off driving within 70 minutes. Not sure about some of the reviews but my experience was positive. Would use this service again!
Lacks service – Was suggested to me from my insurance after I got a flat battery in the city. No phone number to call only a online booking. No explanation of conditions or fees/cancellation . They charged my credit card $173 straight away without advising this would be the case. I tried to cancel the service and there was no Phn number to contact them. Quick to take your money
Absolutely Appalling Service – Told these guys would help my strandard family. Booked online. They took $179 from my account and then sent me a text message to say they are to busy. Can’t believe it!!
Only person who could help in middle of the night – Had a flat tyre in west metro VIC at 1:30am and got assistance within the hour after asking for help, when no one else could 5/5 for service and transparent pricing
Will tell my friends, back on road so quickly in Melbourne – I was on my way to work on the freeway when my car started making a noise. I pulled over and had a quick look but couldn't see anything wrong. I didn't want to take any risk on a freeway so I contacted them. The guy came pretty quickly and checked around the wheels and found some truck tyre rubber on the wheel which he had to cut off and pull out.… Read more
Took about 15 minutes after he came and I was on my way again. Worth the money so will use again and tell my friends!
Reliable Roadside Service – I was recommended to use this company when I had a battery issue on the way to work. I had to make the assistance request via my mobile but it was fairly straightforward. The technician called to say he would be around 50 minutes since it was peak traffic. He did a check of my battery and was able to replace it. Overall service was fine and as expected. Show details

Definitely recommend! – I was driving home and got a flat tire on the freeway. Service was very efficient (came in 25 minutes) and very friendly and approachable. I haven’t had much need for roadside assistance in the past, so paying for the service when I only need it (rather than a yearly fee) is much more affordable in the long run! Definitely recommend to those wanting cost-efficient and responsive roadside assistance! Show details
Avoid them, it's bordering on a scam – They charged $173 for a call out. Horrible text communication. The guy shows up an hour later and is super shady. He says my battery is dead and I need a new one. He seems so shifty I say that if he can just get me started I'll drive it around to recharge it. He says it will never happen and I have to pay an extra $230 for the battery. So… Read more
altogether $403 to change a small battery for a 2 door car. (NRMA charge $260 for the same service) He gives me a receipt from "Roadside Mech Assist Pty Ltd" and he keeps my battery (!) I spoke with my mechanic afterwards and he said it was rubbish, I could have charged it by driving and didn't need a new battery. I phoned RoadAngel to complain and they sent back a super rude email, and also said "The contractor who attends to your vehicle is not affiliated with us and offers a battery replacement service for an independent fee. We have no control over that charge. If you have decided to purchase a battery in this manner than it is your transaction with the individual provider. " So basically, the whole thing is bordering on a scam. RoadAngel accepted no responsibility. The $170 should have come out of the battery charge. I won't rest with this one, because it's so evidently fraudulent, I'll keep phoning them until I see justice. Truly revolting company. Don't' trust!!
Lack of communication – I had a flat battery after finishing work. I found it so difficult to find a number, once I eventually found a number I was talking a robot most of the time. I eventually booked them in to come and help me with my car but maybe after 40 mins of them coming they cancel my trip and say they busy.
Fantastic experience – Was stranded at sons football practice with a flat battery. Some would consider the service costly but for the response time (22 minutes to arrive where I was) to having me on the road again (45 minutes tops) it was well worth the price and convenience. Even better had the option to replace the battery on the spot - which was reasonably priced… Read more
considering it was a road side pit stop essentially. The customer service was great, friendly and knowledgeable. Would use this service again now that I know about it and if I was in a pinch! Thank you!
Really Bad Communication and No Show – I broke down and couldn't find a phone number so booked online. After 45 mins Police came and got me moved off the road to a service station. After another 20 mins of trying to find a phone number and texting a computer I finally got to talk to someone who told me I would have to put in another service call to get a tow truck because the guy who… Read more
was coming would not be able to tell anything unless he pit it on a diagnostic machine. So he didn't come and risked driving home with warning lights on in my car. Seriously someone should have at least turned up after 70 minutes. Cost $173.
Lacks transparency – My car had a flat battery and I thought we had road side assistance through our insurer but that was for our other car. Was suggested to call road angels. Used the webpage that requires payment upfront. Through their webpage I did indicate that I had a flat battery. I therefore did presume that the $172 call out fee was in some way going towards… Read more
the cost of a new battery. After he jump-started the car I was told that it would be $290 for a battery. When I did complain to the company via email I was told I should educate myself better in the future so I am passing this on to educate others.
