10 Years! its performance is still like new – From last 10 years I use it everyday for doughmaking to make Indian Bread. It works brilliantly. I use other attachments occasional like for cake batters, it does absolute great job. BUT if you want to use pasta attachment and the top jug then it is bit slow coz it doesn't blend well. But I don't mind as I have separate appliances for that. If… Read more

you really looking to buy something for dough and to make cake/cupcake batter then it perfectly for you.

Dissatisfied customer – How lucky is Russell Hobbs to gain a One Star in my view. Definitely not satisfied with the newly purchased machine. Motor was struggling and did not mix butter with ingredients, parts are not dishwasher safe. Have noticed in the Terms of Use Policy, comments can be removed Show details

Made a pavlova at Christmas and it was a huge success. The bowl size is just right for what I need, – So happy with my purchase. I made an amazing pavlova for our Christmas table. The egg whites were whisked to perfection and it was just the perfect consistency. The bowl size is just right and the accessories all fit nicely inside for storage. I can't wait to get stuck into baking all my old favourites and I'm sure it will perform to my high expectations.  Show details

Very disappointed – Product looks professional and beautiful to look at. The mixing bowl holds well for two cake tin size ingredients and the attachments work fine. It does a good job with cakes although I didn’t mind manually mixing the sides it can’t reach, I used it only twice between October and December before it stopped working. was looking forward to use it… Read more

for Christmas but was a bit sad it didn’t turn on. As for the motor, I don’t think it’s powerful enough.

Disappointing product, no spare parts – We bought this machine and used it for 3 years rarely, but unfortunately it stopped working and upon inspecting the driving system was completely destroyed. The gear system was broken and they don't sell parts to fix this. The ingredients also don't mix properly as you would expect in a food processor.

Disappointed – Had several problems with ingredients not being mixed properly as beaters don't reach sides or bottom of bowl, even after scraping sides occasionally. Contacted company and was told this model "has been designed to make you stop and mix the product, this is to ensure that all mixture gets mixed and nothing gets missed. I thought this was the point… Read more

of using an electric mixer?? Was better on thicker batters like choux pastry that stuck together but light mixes like meringues did not mix as well as would have liked.

Very Disappointed with Model RHMP 1200 – I bought this unit as a present for my wife and she is totally unhappy...Makes a squeeking noise after only very little use...Seems to go along with majority of complaints. She also finds like a lot of others it doesn't catch side of bowl when mixing.. Noise quite annoying... Nothing obvious..Doesnt get hot etc

shocking waste of money – After 3 years of hardly any use of the mixer - maybe 6 times, and minimal use of the blender, the entire machine stopped working completely. Have a 50 year old Kenwood Chef which is still going strong! Compared to that, this is a toy. Pretty to look at, but totally useless.

Tried it loved it! – I bought my machine this weekend, I really wanted a Kitchenaid but couldn't justify the cost in view of the amount of times it will likely be used. I read the reviews after buying it & nearly didn't use it & returned it for a refund. Decided last night to test it out & would have taken it back & argued the point if it didn't perform. I am… Read more

pleased to report it worked brilliantly, I made meringues to test the whisk, perfect. Ciabatta bread rolls (using a bread pre mix) perfect & lastly the ricotta & walnut cake from the recipe in the warranty & guide booklet. That's coming to work for morning tea today but it looks great.

Nor sure what went wrong for the nay Sayers, but I love mine!

SO DISSAPPOINTED – What a waste of money! - how could they manufacture a kitchen appliance like this without testing thoroughly, - wont cream butter and sugar or any other mixture with butter - beater doesnt even slightly reach sides or bottom of bowl. Looks good, but that is all it has going for it.

Hate it. Gave it away – Wish I'd read these reviews before buying. Pushes ingredients to outside of the bowl so you have to repeatedly stop & scrape down. Also makes annoying loud squeaking noise when mixing which got worse in time. I contacted Russell Hobbs & told them I wanted a refund, they told me to return it to the retailer to request a refund. They refused to… Read more

refund because there was nothing wrong with it. Will not purchase anything Russell Hobbs again. Love my Breville scraper mixer pro! Stainless steel. Noisy squeaking noise & pushes ingredients to sides if bowl

RHMP1200 Mixer - the worst mixer on the market!!! – I bought the RHMP 1200 mixer last year, it is by far the worst mixer I have ever used, it does not reach far enough down into the bowl to mix the ingredients properly. Forget about whisking eggs, it just will not do it. Cream your butter and sugar by hand otherwise you are scrapping down the bowl every 2 or 3 seconds, it pointless to try. Cake… Read more

mixes, it again does not mix the ingredients properly and when you are emptying ingredients into cake tins you find the mix not mixed properly at the bottom of the bowl. A total piece of garbage. Looks good Does not mix ingredients properly.

Does not mix properly! – I was given this machine as a gift. My initial excitement turned to despair when I realised the reviews I'd read were true. This machine simply will not cream butter and sugar together. Adding in an egg just makes it swish around on the top of the mixture rather than combining it. Having to constantly stop/start the machine to hand mix everything… Read more

is extremely annoying. Generally I have given up and used my cheap hand mixer with a much better result.

I contacted the Russel Hobbs customer service department about the problems I was having and received reply that it was working as it should due to the planetary action. I emailed again detailing more problems a month ago and was told the marketing department would contact me, and I have never heard back from them. I am trying to persist with this machine as I cannot not return it and cannot afford another one, but almost ever thing I make, makes me frustated. Today was mixing cream cheese, sugar and egg. I am left with huge lumps of unmixed cream cheese all through the mixture.

It does make nice dough. Have had success with pizza dough and scrolls. But anything else does not work. I would never recommend this machine - or brand even due to their customer service - to anyone. Makes nice dough, looks good on the bench

Does NOT mix would love to gey my money back and buy kitchen aid. I bought the grater attachment as – It Does NOT Mix small amounts or large amounts, it will NOT cream butter and sugar together. I made cakes on numerous occasions but it is quicker to het my little woolies mix master out that cost 19.00. Totlsa wst of money and definetlly not what the sales person told me at Harris Scarf. Now it only looks good on bench

Dream machine! – Does exactly what you'd want from it - from beating eggs and sugar to mixing up dough. We have never had better pizza dough and that is saying something...the dough was just incredibly soft and light. Really like the look and feels very sturdy - we haven't really been that gentle with it and had no issues at all. Look, performance, dough attachment.

Squeaky!? – I bought this mixer earlier in the year, my main idea for it's use was for mixing up my cheesecake mixture, of which it failed to do to my satisfaction. I had to keep scraping down the sides and the mix ended up with lumpy bits throughout it because it didn't mix it through properly. I have also used it to mix up cake, which went through… Read more

alright, still not the best.

The other mixing I have done with it has been dough, which went well at first, but after it got to the firm stage all it did was push the dough out to the sides of the bowl, I had to stop it, lift up the head and push the dough back into the middle of the bowl, several times, which was very frustrating.

The other issue I have with this mixer is the squeaking sound, not quiet either, that the mixer makes when in operation. I thought the noise might subside with use, but it has actually become a little louder, so while I would wish that I could say I enjoy using it, I'm not that happy with this product and seriously considering returning it.

Seriously I get better results with my hand blender on a stand mixmaster. Looked good, sturdy. Mixes poorly, squeaks loudly.

Awful! It does not mix!! – I tried to make a cheesecake filling and a batch of cupcakes and buttercream. Whilst everything turned out successfully, it was only after I stopped the machine, lifted the head and scraped down the sides and bottom of the bowl every 30 seconds or so!!! It was ridiculous. After only adding a 1/4 of the flour, and 10 seconds on very low to… Read more

incorporate the flour; all the mix ws firmly stuck the bottom and the sides, and the beater was beating nothing.

and everytime you need to scrape down the bowl, you have to remove it, scrape, replace and lower the head again. And I wasn't doing a small batch of mixture for it to be mixing nothing, it was a large batch, but the beater head just pushes it to the sides and packs it on! It is the worst thing I've ever bought! I want my money back!! We buy bench-top mixers to make it easier for baking, not harder, and this machine is hard work!! Looks nice, easy to use Does not mix properly

Russell Hobbs Prox Mixer – Unfortunately the mixer is very poor when creaming butter and sugar, the ingredients are pushed to the outside of the bowl, the beater is too small for the size of the bowl. It`s very frustating as you have to stop the mixer and scrape ingredients back into the middle.I do alot of baking,I wouldn`t recommend this mixer at all.Looks flash. It`s heavy duty,

Motor failed – This mixer doesn't mix well - itpushes the batter to the bottom and sides of the bowl. My first batch of cupcakes had chunks of butter in them because it did such a poor job. From then on I had to keep stopping the mixer to scrape down the sides of thet bowl to ensure all the ingredients were properly incorporated. However, because the spoon… Read more

wouldn't fit down the side this also meant flipping up the head which causes some sort of failsafe to kick in meaning I had to turn off at the wall and turn on again before it would start again!!! Very annoying and time consuming. Ultimately, the motor failed after mixing just three loaves of bread and a couple of batches of cupcake batter and happily David Jones refunded me! It's cheap and nice and heavy. Handles bread dough ok Useless for cakes, icing etc. Motor failed

Waste of money – I purchased this last November as it seemed to be a nice strong, heavy mixer compared to a plastic one. Major downfallis that it doesn't mix!!!!!! You have to keep scraping the bowl and if you are just cooking a normal cake, none of the attachments actually reach into the bowl enough, so it just flattens the butter and sugar, cartainly doesn't cream it.

Love it, love it, love it – Love the look of it, lovely stainless steel. Looks so nice on my bench. Mixing tools fit nicely into bowl for storage. The dough hook is fantastic, have made lots of pizza dough this week, can't beat home made pizzas. Wife Loves it – I was looking at the Breville Scraper but after looking at the plastic parts that mix the ingredients i was not so keen. I got this for my wife for Christmas and she wasn't sure as she had never used one before. Now i am finding myself putting on weight as she bakes a cake a day ever since i gave it to her. She loves it. We use it for our Pizza… Read more

In Doubt – On reading the Instructions & Warranty booklet supplied with my Russell Hobbs Mix Pro (RHMP 1200 BL)I note in the Speed Control section that it states that the motor should not be run continuously for more than 10 mins, it may overheat.
