The instruction leaflet included with the RAC1214 spool head don't describe how to fit into an older OLT1833BL trimmer with an arbor. The arbor is a different length to the newer models so a two-step process is necessary. The best way to do this is to first remove that arbor spindle by locking the spindle with the short pin provided in the spool head kits and using a spanner to undo it using reverse thread ie clockwise. Then fit the trimmer head using the instructions for straight shaft without arbor.

I have to replace the spool on my OLT1833 BL Type 2. I bought a spool RAC1214 from Bunnings. The back of the spool doesn’t include my model trimmer. Can you please advise the correct replacement spool. Thank you Phil Thompson

I can’t remove the spool so I can retread the cord. It seems to stuck. I can see residual cord stuck inside the spool. How do I dismantle it? The manual does not help.

You could open the head using the two clips at the side.

Directions on how to replace line

Sam

This is much simpler than conventional method. 1. turn the head so that the arrow on the head align with a marker on the outside. 2. thread the line from one hole through to the opposite end 3. wind the line into the enclosure 4. done

I am having problems getting the cord line to come out. I tap it on the ground whilst running but the cord does not extend. I have only had the machine for about 18 months and its been like this for the last 6 months. I have tried turning it off, turn it over and hit it with my hand and tug on cord but no luck. any suggestions.

My old petrol nikita? snipper has died after more than 10years. Thinking of changing to battery operated. It'll be be used on concrete edging and the base of trees. It used to take 15minutes to do the yard

Is this up to the job of buffalo grass? I've been happy with my older equivalent of the OLT1830 but the new place has buffalo grass. Its taking ages to wear away at it. I have lots of one+ batteries but should I go to the ryobi 36v for a buffalo lawn?

im looking for the replacement cutter cord for the Ryobi 18V Cordless Line Trimmer Model RLT1833BL4 or OLT1833BL. Not sure if this model takes spools or need to wind in the cord? First time replacing. The instructional manual is not very informative.

it takes 2mm line that you wind on. I purchased some in bunnings but it keeps on breaking on one side. the line that came with the trimmer never broke and last me for a good while. I purchased a roll of oregon 2mm square will have to buy another brand as it must be this line isn't suited or the square shape is not for this model.
