Yes it can, but it doesn't come with the guide piece that my last, cheaper ryobi mower did.

I understand that the key can be remain in ur mower all the time, but if, for example u don't want someone else to access ur mower, removing the isolator key prevents anyone else operating it. Maybe it's a safety feature for children. I'm not sure.

Ditto’ to the above, more a child proofing mechanism than anything practical, whenever children are present just remove the battery! Easy as that.

Hi Ray. I'm just an average householder, but I have a 600sqm yard and this mower does it nicely if you mow regularly and dont let the grass get too long. It's also easy to start and push. Much better than prev petrol mowers I've owned. May I suggest you contact ryobi for more information to help you decide

Is the red isolator key in place? If yes, have u held down the button AT THE SAME TIME AS pulling up on the bar beneath the handle?
