My Talea touch screen 15 years old now – I have had my machine for 15 years now and it still operates like the day I got it. It is used on a daily basis and it still makes great coffee and lattes. It is easy to maintain/clean. I fear the day my machine packs it in as I have no idea what to replace with that will give me as much joy this machine has given me. Show details ·  1

Part of the family – We've had this machine for 10 yr now and it's only started playing up the last 2. It gets used daily for approx 2 coffees. It started having similar problems that are discussed here but pretty much after new parts put inside last year it's running like a dream. Every time it gets sick we shed a little tear, pat it and hope it'll kick start again.… Read more

Not bad – The machine is making a so nice coffee at all the time but it is now leaking water and needs service. It is out of warranty and I need to check its service. I haven't contacted the service yet but I'm worried if it is expensive. Other than this the machine is working good most of the time  Show details

because it was 6 months old even though we had never used. During the warranty time we took it back 3 times and since have had to get it fixed 4 times each time costing me around $400 and each time I take it back the machine repairer tell me not to fix it because these machines are lemons. Well it's stopped working again with a problem I've had 3 times now and won't be fixing it this time. Never will I ever be buying a saeco again

I feel for those customers who have had a negative experience with their Talea coffee machines, however we have had our reliable machine for around 20 years now. The easy to use menu allows you to make a great coffee every time. It’s been serviced when needed and as another reviewer pointed out.. due to Its ease of operation and reliability..what do you replace it with when the day comes ? Show details

Great machine, easy to use – All round good machine, easy to use, quality of coffee consistent, only concern would be the cleaning of the machine, not really explained well enough in the brochure, after cleaning the brew group, the light stays on, the machine is working fine, otherwise it wouldn't be able to make coffee.  Show details ·  1

No regrets getting it second hand – Didn't pay much for our Saeco Talea ring coffee machine. The previous owner said that it didn't pour full espresso anymore. All I had to do is go into the settings and tell it to put more water through for that coffee type. It's been a trooper since then. Worst buy ever – I own a Talea Touch machine and I have nothing but trouble. For an expensive product it was a real waste of money and the service is terrible. Latest problem is water going straight to drip tray instead of cup. Have spent a fortune trying to get it fixed.. Beware of buying this model. It will leak, make a mess, require regular repairs and if you are unlikely like me there are no service agents where I live.  Show details

Rubbish – Would never buy a Saeco anything again. Coffee machine - Talea Touch has leaked most of its life even after a service and throws up spurious error messages, my favorite one being 'prime water circuit' which their help desk suggests resolving by 'turning it off and on a few times', Brilliant - the old 'reboot' solution when you have no idea. Doesn't work of course and a service on it is so expensive it's going in the bin!  Show details

Saeco Talea, a new species of lemon tree !! – If you buy a Ferrari you can obviously afford high maintenance . The Talea is the same. It requires A LOT of maintenance . I recommend one to either of 2 groups people ; Saeco technicians and coffee / coffee machine fanatics , otherwise STAY AWAY . Buy a Pod machine instead or a jar of Instant coffee !!

required regular repairs – It seems we've encountered very similar problems to those posted on this site. We bought the Saeco Talea at the end of 2009 with the 3 yr extended warranty. It was sent back twice under warranty, which was a real nuisance as we live in a regional area. Another couple of times we managed to get it going again with phone support. But a month after… Read more

the warranty expired the machine expired as well! I don't think it was worth the $1935 (including $179 for the 3 yr ext warranty). We called Phillips for a local repairer and that in itself proved difficult enough, the staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. I sent them feedback regarding this experience, and they came back with a defensive email justifying their processes. So we found a local repairer ourselves. They've since advised that a valve needs replacing which would cost $280 plus labour. cost for repair we're told can be anywhere between $350 to $400. Not keen to spend this sort of a money on a machine that has had so many problems and already cost a small fortune. Also, it broke down just as we bought a new batch (2kg) of very expensive organic coffee beans which we haven't been able to use as the machine grinds the coffee, another $90 down the drain. We might well be in the market for a new coffee machine but I would not consider a saeco again.

I bought a second hand Talea touch – I bought the Talea second hand and broken. Well, they thought it was broken. I paid all of 30$, it was "for parts". I altered the parameters via the test mode and it… Read more ·  1

makes some of the best coffees I have had.

Most of the "services" seem to be simple items, such as removing a stuck brew group and resetting the unit. Things such as this can be done very easily, there are instructions available online and videos on youtube. It will take you no more than a few minutes.

I have had the dreaded warning displays and all of them turned out to be simple fixes. Since refurbishment the unit has not given me any trouble. The brew group jammed up once and "self healed", returning to the home position and was fine for the next cup.

If you maintain the unit, look after it and follow basic care procedures you should get many years of great coffee. If perchance you have to repair it, have a look on youtube, it may be a much simpler fix than you think.

Great Machine when it works – I purchased a Talea Touch coffee machine from Myer in 2008. Within a couple of months it broke down and was leaking water everywhere. battled it out with Myer who finally succumbed and replaced my machine with a new one. This machine worked well for sometime however earlier this year it was sent away to United Warranties (Myer extended warranty) and a few days later the warranty company went into liquidation... so my coffee machine disappeared. I have been battling once again with Myer to either replace my machine or to give me a credit voucher to replace it. (Their customer service department had told me this would happen and just to be patient).... However, after months of phone calls the best deal available to me is to take a depreciated in store credit of $550... I have taken this offer to put this to sleep. Keep away from these machines unless you are willing to battle with repairs on a regular basis... Great coffee when the machine is working Expensive, bad warranty service, unreliable!!!

the photocopier from hell, that you tip beans into. COnstanat problems with Seals , leaking water all over bench every time you make a cup of coffee. IF coffee waste bin thinks it is full it will cease to work, dump your ground coffee(wasted) and not work.

Cleaning is important , but not every cup you make , it is a huge lemon , look at the other reviews
