Ice maker common problem, had replaced 3-4 times now.
We have had this fridge for a few years now and have had nothing but trouble with the ice maker from the very beginning. It constantly stops working, fan makes loud noises prior to it ceasing. Always needing defrosting. We have had the ice maker replaced THREE times now and am over the bandaide solutions.
The Repairer who have been kind enough to replace the item each time but have stated that they work on this fridge model all the time. 6 years of repairs to one fridge alone, that is ridiculous. Apparently in America there is a class action su...
Great Fridge....If it lasted more then 3 years!
So, we bought our fridge along with a full kitchen of appliances and got a good deal on it. We were delighted with it while it worked. Temperatures were adjustable and held everything at proper user selected temperatures. Space was great and plenty of door shelves to hold small stuff like sauces etc. The lower right compartment was used twice as a fridge (at Christmas) and this worked like a treat. A small issue is the cleaning of the vegetable buckets as they have a complicated front to drawer side connection system which unfortunately allows ...onion and garlic skins to get in between the parts so the drawers cant be cleaned easily. However, we also had problems with the ice maker which would over produce and the ice cubes would clog up. If caught early we could break the ice cubes apart using a long metal implement and this would get the maker working again. If we didn't catch it in time though, the ice would expand down into the storage box and you could not take it out to get it working again. We twice had to switch the fridge off and melt the ice using a hair drier to free up the box so that we could get it working once more. Then, after leaving the house for a week long break, we switched the fridge off and allowed the ice to melt overnight. I then applied some silicon sealant around the icemaker as per a tip I found on Youtube to stop humidity entering the icemaker and left it to cure for the week. However, when we returned and switched it on there was an error message. A small heating element inside the icemaker had failed open circuit. But worse, there is no way of clearing this warning and although the ice maker , fridge and freezer are working fine, the control panel is rendered inoperable so we cant adjust temps, change the type of ice between crushed or solid, we cant select whether the lower right compartment can be used as a fridge or freezer and the light is on all night. That's very poor electrical design where a $5 element renders a $3000 fridge inoperable. Samsung have recognised this is a manufacturing fault and so agreed easily to send out a tech to repair it even though we are a year out of warranty. He couldn't as this part is not available from the factory and can only be fitted when the Icemakers are fitted to the fridge in the factory. So Samsung have offered us our money back or a store credit to replace it. Our fault was extremely rare and normally the techs come out and carry out 3 modifications which solves the icemaker problems. They told me that they had been given the OK by Samsung to do this on fridges which are 5 and 6 years old so if you are suffering an icebox issue with a Samsung give the tech department a call and see f you can get yours fixed. We may go for the store credit and avoid Samsung in future but its a shame as the fridge would be awesome if it worked.

Ice maker freezes, seals are leaking, water every where! Passed me to a third party with no results, said it was a special product and must deal with them.. around we go..

Air bubbles on water dispenser door
We love this fridge and luckily have had no issues with the icemaker as others seem to have had. After a year though, two large air bubbles appeared on the water dispenser door. Samsung to their credit sent out a repairman who replaced he whole door. Another year on, and the same bubbles are reappearing and only on the water dispenser door. Has anybody else experienced his?

Ice maker will let you down within 18mths
We have at to clear the ice maker on numerous occasions and know it doesn’t work at all, so being in Townsville we will pay about $500-600 for a repair after only 28 mths might try and find a fridge that makes ice the old fashioned way. Also to pull out the Veg and fruit draws is a task in itself and after scouring YouTube for the answer many cracked the plastic which releases the catch(so did I)

Poor quality doors and ice maker issue
Had the fridge for a few years. As others noted the icemaker is an issue but also two doors outer shell is peeling. Looks like a quality/ design issue. Between product care and Samsung they will only replace the icemaker but not poor quality doors. Still have 7 months product care warrentee. No use getting extended warentees or try and get samsung to replace their poor quality doors. Won't buy samsung or product care again.

Fridge failed within one month. It took Samsung two weeks to check out the fridge and another week later we haven’t heard an outcome. Meanwhile we have lost hundreds of dollars of food

Issues with cleaning. Otherwise a good fridge.
Nice looking fridge, I like the flexibility of zones and the set out. Ice maker and water dispenser works well. Maintains temperature.
BIG downside is that food particles become trapped in the crisper drawer joins. They are not sealed and it is not possible to take apart the drawers to clean this trapped food particles. Very unhygienic and frustrating as I have tried so many times to clean them with no luck.

Ice maker issues, good support
This is quite a different review compared to the one I was going to submit last week. We fell foul of the infamous ice maker fault with this Samsung model. We were spared the leaking and icing up at the rear into the vegetable baskets, but over the course of two years the ice maker went from fine, to freezing up every couple of months, to freezing up every week, to stopping working altogether. This is a chronic issue with this model as you would find out as soon as you Google it. However I think it is only fair to also provide positive feedbac...k when due. Our fridge is three years old, out of manufacturers warranty. I expected to have to purchase a new fridge, or spend a significant amount of time arguing with Samsung to get the ice maker sorted. I contacted them via their support chat system. Within ten minutes I was speaking to somebody. Within half an hour he had committed to having Samsung service the fridge, with apparently a permanent fix for the ice maker issue. An hour later I had a call from the service guy with confirmation of a time. Within two days of first contact the service had been carried out and the ice maker is working perfectly. I should point out that the entire ice maker assembly was replaced. According to the repair guy they have pinpointed the original flaw and we should expect many years of happy ice making with the newly fitted parts. Time will tell. In summary, I cannot commend the customer service from Samsung highly enough, prompt, courteous, helpful and got the job done quickly at their expense. Apart from the ice maker issue we really liked the fridge and if the ice maker is now fixed for good, then only good things to say about it. Advice for anybody reading this with ice maker issues, approach Samsung politely before posting a review and see if they can help you out.

Stay away from this fridge - not recommended
We purchased this product mainly of its ice making feature, but have stopped using ice maker from last 3 years, ice maker frequently clogs up and unable to open the ice maker bucket. Have to use steamer to manually defrost the icemaker but its becoming quite regular issue so i have stop using icemaker.

Worst Customer service from Samsung
The fridge broke down in about 1.5 years of use. Technician ordered a part, came back after 5 days to replace and told me that the fridge cannot be repaired and Samsung will replace the fridge. 2 days later got SMS to send Proof of purchase, and 5 days have passed after providing POP but no reply or update.
Beware of Samsung Customer Service, as I was without fridge for around 23 days.
Had to finally accept the offer of replacement of fridge from Samsung as other options were taking more time to have my fridge.
I am never going to buy Samsung products with the level of service I experienced.

Ice maker freezing up
Purchased new Harvey Norman 2018. First month ice making machine freezes up. Rang Samsung and told while on the phone to chip away ice, reset / button for ice making. No tech sent and relying on customer to clear frozen stick cubes, then reset!!!
2 years on and many self repairs / resets / defrosts..... I had a gut full. Fed up I took action and contacted product care. I purchased this for peace of mind when purchasing the $3000 Samsung fridge.

Highly NOT Recommended
I purchased the refrigerator having so much confidence this refrigerator will be amazing since I entertain very much, but into 6 months of this purchase the ice-maker stated to stuff up, making it really difficult to use and have any ice dispense. I called Samsung as I had warranty still on the refrigerator. The repairer came out he was a very nice man, he checked it and decided to put a new ice maker. I thought the problem is solved and everything will be work as I expected it too. Mind you it wasn’t a cheap fridge. Not long after it was ...seen by the repairer it stated to do the same thing, then I would thaw it etc it’s actually such a pain the mess and all then you have to wait around for the ice maker to make some more, it was really a headache. I Pius up these issues thinking what a lemon I had purchased then the ice maker stopped making ice completely so I have no ice at all. I have had issues with this refrigerator from early days and I have lost trust in this brand, not to mention the body of the fridge, it’s front area where the water dispenser water would bubble up where the water sometimes drips down right under the dispenser on the left bottom of the door..

Love icy cold water but
Always had problems with the icemaker ,always freezes up when you need ice , service man came out and said it’s always been a problem. Hopefully Samsung should sort the problem out.

We had the same issue with the ice maker freezes up. Rang Samsung & they promptly sent out a repair agent. Unit replaced, agent says this is a common problem however, Samsung have now updated the ice maker to higher standard. Now no problems .......... so far.

I'm very happy with this fridge except one minor problem with the water dispenser. It doesn't flow 2 too 3 times a week and I have to remove the filter and re attache the filter and it works again. Very strange. What can be the solution.

Don’t buy this fridge, the icemaker will break
This fridges icemaker constantly freezes up, and needs to be defrosted at least weekly, the icemaker unit breaks and costs hundreds of dollars to replace.
Check around online, customers in the USA are suing Samsung for the bad design

Ice maker water dispenser had issues
When you buy an expensive fridge like this you probably buy it to get ice & water.
The icemaker constantly frosts up, at least once a month has to thawed, usually find out when you've got people over & you're making drinks. It's messy & awkward to thaw, but then you have quite a wait before new ice is ready.
Suitably disappointed - Find a better fridge for the money
Update- Samsung sent out a repairer immediately following my review. Fridge was fixed free of charge and seems to be working perfectly now. Great response thanks Samsung

Great Fridge except.....
We love our Samsung fridge, especially as I can have one part of the freezer as an extra fridge !! My only problem is the ice maker keeps freezing over .. I now have to defrost ever 1/2 - 2 weeks.. and it’s very time consuming.. would love to know if anyone has a solution to their ice maker freezing over ..

My led light at the water/ ice dispenser keeps turn on. Usually it automatically turn off once we finish to use the ice or water. But tonight it keeps light on! Please help
Our Samsung 719L fridge is approximately 3-4 years old and now the fridge section has stopped cooling. Everything else, freezer, ice maker, lights, control panel etc all work fine.
We tried unplugging for 30 minutes, yet no success. Any ideas as to what has happened?
Sounds like a fault with the cooling system
Wondering why we can’t get the ice bucket off. We’re pushing up from the bottom and trying to pull straight out but it won’t move.
It is iced in. Until some of the ice melts it won’t be going anywhere. Try a hairdryer around the edges. Keep going till it starts to give. A little jiggle helps.
If you’ve started having the ice maker problem you’re eventually going to have to get it replaced. Get onto Samsung, worked for me.
Why not simply ask Samsung in the first place?
