Great phone until you open it up to use it more than once. Phone is still under warranty and sent pictures into samsung and they said it should be covered as it's a known fault, and a quick google confirmed it. Sent the phone back to tecworks and they claim I've hit it against something multiple times, the phone has been utmost cared for and… Read more

rarely used opened maybe once a month then I started using it a fair bit opened to get some work done instead of a tablet and it started to pop the factory protector off the centre on each open and I was told to keep it on from the store and not put my own on and they could not put a new one on at that particular store at that time as the machine wasn't working. Eventually the touch stopped working then it crack popped straight down the centre on an opening. Tecworks told me it would be just under 1k to repair it which is more than the phone is worth (how convenient for them) I contacted Samsung and waited for a case manager to call me and Via didn't even listed to what I had to say but promptly told me were not paying for the repair and hung up in my face as I was talking, zero response since very poor customer service. I wish I'd looked at reviews before purchasing and samsung will definitely not be in my choice from now on.

What a great experience – We had an issue after 25 months and took the phone to Samsung Werribee Plaza, we could not believe how helpful the staff were ,fixed my Wife’s phone FOC and then they noticed my zflip4 so they changed the screen protector for free. They then sent a message saying that the phone was ready and sent it to us pre paid express post AMAZING We would never touch an iPhone again . Thankyou Show details ·  1

Fold 4 nightmare – Same story like everyone else, my wife works in the office not trade industry, never dropped the phone, genuine Samsung cover but 16 months later the inside screen stopped working, we send it back to Samsung for repair and they ask 900 dollars for replacing the screen even the phone was under warranty, excuse was the phone was dropped and when… Read more

they returned the phone won't open the screen fully like used to be..... Waist of time and money, no repair shop will do it for less then 900 dollars, now in the rubbish and back to normal Samsung Galaxy phone, stay away from fold or flick phones in general because they all have same problems, fold 5 or 6 are the same due to using the same screen, but for almost 3k and 18 months later in rubbish that's a lost .....

Do not buy a Samsung fold – I purchased this phone in February 2024, brand new and within 4 weeks the phone cracked down the middle. Which appears to be a common crack, however the next time I opened the screen it cracked across the bottom to which Samsung used to say it was my fault. They sent me to a dodgy place to have it reviewed which were allegedly specialists however… Read more

they declared I closed something in my phone as there were indents on the outer edge. The phone screen was very bumpy at the best which disappointed me at the time of purchase. It is not physically possible to close something in the phone and leave dents on the identical outer spots as by the law of physics the item would slide into the centre fold area and/or out the bottom. I asked for the certificate of compliance / factory checked for my specific phone and none has been supplied. I was effectively sold a sub part phone that broke immediately. Phone was treated being treated with kid gloves. My previous phone was 6 years old and in perfect condition as I look assured my phones. This situation has caused me great anxiety. DO NOT BUY A FOLD

Problematic folding screen – Purchased in December 22 and was great until October 23. Inner folding screen developed a continuous white light line across top of right hand side of folding screen and a vertical fine line white line just left of the screen fold. Appears not to be a split but rather defect in screen light output. Took sometime to obtain a return to a Samsung… Read more

repair agent and was then subsequently advised that no parts were available to effect repair. Was advised by Samsung in early December that a refurbished unit with a similar spec would be provided. My original Fold 4 was in excellent condition and I'm hopeful I'll receive a unit that is as good as my original. Overall, really disappointed that my Fold 4 failed as the device was an excellent concept and functioned really well prior to screen issue. I'm not confident that I'll get a good long term experience with the refurbished unit(when I receive) but I can only hope. UPDATE Finally received my refurbished replacement and all seems good with unit. Well packaged and unit seemed without any wear and appeared like new condition. Battery is functioning as if it were new and no complaints generally. Unit was express posted but typically Aust Post took a week to get it delivered from within WA but that's no fault with Samsung. Special mention should go to Techworks as Samsung repair agents in Perth, really good service and always kept me up to date with process so special acknowledgement to those folks. My previous Note series phones have been excellent devices and all but the original(note 1) are still in service and functioning well. From the reviews I read and from my own experience, I would not recommend any folding screen phones as durability appears to be a real issue. I'll likely return to the Ultra S series when I need to replace the Fold 4. It's disappointing as it'll be difficult returning to a single screen device. Samsung service is OK but there is much room for improvement. Generally they would contact me via phone within a day or two but follow up with email was not forthcoming. Repeated attempts to get written conformation of process was without success. In summary, I'm looking forward to putting this process behind me as it hasn't been a pleasant experience. FINAL SUMMARY Great device with some questions about durability. Hopefully I can get reasonable life out of current Fold 4 and if so I would likely move onto latest Samsung Folding phone despite the durability risk. These folding phones are just a revolution after using a large traditional phone. Also the stylus is such a bonus that it puts Samsung out there as the best folder in my view.

Screen cracked through the middle – Absolutely loved this phone initially. Great looking phone and it was a productivity work horse. The only problem with it was after 8 months of owning it one day I opened it up like I always did and the screen cracked right through the centre of it and rendered the phone unusable. Samsung refused to admit fault and would not replace the phone… Read more

Simply not good enough for a Phone that costs almost $3,000 AUD

I've owned fold 1,2,3 and now 4 and All these phones have had durability issues.

Do not buy this phone – I have had this phone for about 8 months now and after visiting a Vodafone store with my son , the salesman noticed I had a z fold 4 and asked if me if I had any problems with it yet . I said why and he told me they have had a lot of returns due to the screens and and the hinges. One week later I opened my phone and it wouldn't fold flat . I… Read more

returned to the store I purchased it from and they said if I took it to the Samsung store in the city it would be a quicker turn around . So I travelled an hour into the city and while I was waiting in line the guy behind me had the same phone, this was his 2nd visit to the store after having been fixed for the same issue.after 3 days I received a call saying it would cost $850 to repair, they said there was evidence of it being dropped .I told the repair shop I would not be paying as I had not dropped it. After researching problems with the phone I found numerous bad reviews that I wished I had seen before purchasing . Samsung have contacted me since and will not refund the money but will fix it for free . $2300 for a phone that will not outlast the warranty and the inconvenience of being without a phone is not worth it. Don't buy this phone .

Great device, until it broke and horrible warranty experience – This phone was fantastic until just after 12 months the inner screen started having issues which caused the phone to turn off whenever using the inner screen. Sent it off to Samsung for repair under warranty and this is where things got worse. They tried to charge me $800 for a new LCD battery as they claimed the edge of the phone was damaged. I… Read more

managed to get my request escalated and the case manager agreed there was no damage to the handset and that they would cover the repair under warranty.

After that I waited for an update, there was none, I spoke to chat support multiple times and they gave me nothing other than to say they have escalated and a case manager will be in touch in 3 days. I ended up getting in contact with the 3rd party who does to warranty repair, and they told me there were no parts in stock and I'm waiting for a case manager to get in touch. It's been 2 weeks without a phone, for a premium $2500+ handset I really expect a better warranty experience.

inside screen randomly cracked one day, samsung says not covered by warranty – about 9 months into use i opened the phone and a black crack down middle of screen. I did not drop or damage the phone in anyway, purely just opened and closed it. samsung claim not to be covered by warranty as they dont cover warranty on the hinge? how can they not cover one of the core components of the phone, never going to buy from samsung again Show details

Very bad product – I bought this phone in late October 2022, and after 7 months, a problem occurred with the screen, and it was fixed after suffering with Samsung, and after a month the same problem returned, and I want a refund, and I sent it to maintenance to get my money back, but they told me that it was fixed, knowing that I informed them I phoned that I want… Read more

Best phone yet though still away to go for perfection – This is an expensive phone but it is the best phone I have owned to date. When you fold the screen out it provides so much more space to do stuff on your phone and the fold section in the middle of the screen is barely noticeable when looking directly at the screen. The camera is amazing and the battery lasts even when taking lots of photos.… Read more ·  3

Problems for the phone I have experienced are; the finger print sensor is unreliable and works only as it wants to which is annoying and the phone is a handful when it is open and you are holding it with one hand, it might be a struggle for people with little hands. The phone feels nice and solid it your and hand a when it is folded is quite compact which is nice as my previous big screen phones were a pain to fit in my pocket or phone holders. I had my last Samsung phone for 5 years and I am hoping that this phone will last as long.

Updated after just over a year of owning the Z fold 4; Inside (factory fitted) screen protector started to lift just before it was 12 months old. Now the screen protector has lifted down the entire centre folding part of the internal screen. Not impressed. Contacted Samsung support, not sure if I am happy about having to send my phone away for repairs. :(

Another update; Centre screen protector continued to lift. After doing a bit of research, ripped it off and ordered a hydrogel screen protector from ebay. I am hoping that it will do the trick. I am still very impressed with my Z fold 4, and would definitely buy another one (as long as I get four years out of it)

Yet another update; the Hydogel screen protector arrived from Ebay and I fitted it. It has worked a treat. I am all happy again :)
