Very frustrating to use – I hate this microwave with a passion. The black door was designed by someone with no idea about cooking. You can't see in so the bowel, mugs and jugs boil over. It overcooks the edges, but very slow to defrost. I do it for double the weight to get it anywhere near defrosted. Every time I use it, I say never again. I suppose you get what you pay… Read more
for, and next time I won't buy cheap. I won't buy Samsung either, the quality isn't as good as it once was.
Died with in 2 days – Purchased from the good guys booval on the 22nd of Feb 2024, used it that night, went to use it again 2 days later and was completely dead, called the store and got half way through giving them the part number and the store person say 'oh the white one'..... kinda made me think that they have had this issue before, returning it for full replacement Show details

Can’t see a thing! – Works well enough. Not as good nor as quick as my old one. BUT WHY ON EARTH IS IT BLACK INSIDE? You can’t see a thing. Very poor usability because of this. I bought it during lockdown so didn’t see it prior to delivery or I would NOT have purchased it because I can’t see inside, groan. Can I rip out the black bit on the inside of the door?

Easy to operate – Just bought this microwave replacing a Samsung that lasted 7 years. I cant fault the microwave it worked well and this one I am sure will be the same, so that is why I bought another. The only thing to be aware of is replacing them every 5-7 years. I was amused to see some with 10 year warranties on the cavity of the microwaves, they are not the thing that is going to break down, so that means nothing really, but sounds good. Show details
Great for reheating and steam cooking – I am visually impaired but by colour coding the start and stop buttons I can reheat drinks and foods effortlessly. Steaming beans, broccoli etc is just a matter of putting them in an oven bag with a little water. Show details
Standard Microwave Oven – We only use the microwave oven to reheat food and a little bit of defrosting. It works perfectly. The user interface is not great though. I need to take the instruction manual out every time when I need it to do something more than just reheating. Show details · 1

Disappointed – Very disappointed with the new microwave. It seems to heat food well but I hate not being able to see inside while I'm cooking. I also don't like that the fan keeps running once the heating has ended. I wish I could return it for a refund and buy another one. Show details
Sensor cook? – Does cook really well, good price, runs quietly, great size and looks good. However, several issues. Firstly u can't see the food cooking inside because either to door is too dark or the interior light is too dim. So if things r boiling over & making a mess, u won't see it. Secondly, there is no way to decrease the cooking time when it is… Read more
running. The old Samsung "Timeshare" microwave had a plus/minus 10 seconds button, so u could adjust cooking time, and I really miss this feature. Also, according the guide, the only things that u can use the sensor cook function on are popcorn, a potato or "single entrees".
Samsung ME6124W Inferior quality product and warranty service – I purchased a Samsung ME6124W 34 litre 1000 watt inverter microwave on special from The Good Guys Mandurah in October 2019. It has a 2 year warranty. The oven is making a loud horn like noise which is intermittent. I returned the oven to The Good Guys Mandurah who sent it to the Samsung repair agent (Camtec). I told the person who took the claim… Read more
that it was an intermittent loud noise and offered a video I had taken with my phone. The response was "the service agent will find the problem " After 3 weeks the oven was returned "no fault found ". I took the oven home and the first time I used it the noise started instantly. I then contacted Samsung Customer Care (Rebecca 23/11) who had a solution to take it to another service agent that is 90km from my home, this makes it a trip of 360km to drop off and pick up. This is not a fair and reasonable solution to a defective and possibly dangerous product. So in summing up a poor quality product backed up with even worse service from Samsung and The Goodguys Mandurah. I have loaded the video at YouTube as "Samsung ME6124W noisy operation" BTW I I have a Samsung TV, tablet and 2 mobile phones. I will consider other options when these are due for replacement.

Dissapointed – Bought this today, and used once, but sending it back. Cannot see a thing through the glass door while cooking in progress. The light is so dim and the glass is so dark that you are unable to see anything inside while heating is in progress. A bit of a safety issue that you cannot see if something is about to overheat or explode. Show details

Love this appliance – I've had my Samsung microwave for 8 months now and I have no complaints, apart from the darkness of the front door panel which makes it difficult to see through but that's a minor irritant. I defrost food in it, cook and also reheat. So far, I haven't ruined anything! It's definitely a lot quieter than the last microwave I had so I'm very pleased. Show details
Cannot see food cook, totally useless – Cannot watch your food cook, useless piece of crap, would not buy another, why they did this is beyond thought, can only wait till it blows up, I might assist it a little, this is how much I dislike it Show details

Cant see food – The microwave functions fine, though the tint on the door is WAY too dark and you are not able to see the food as it is cooking. When the door is open the interior light is functional, though once the door is closed it is useless. When heating up a jug of milk for custard etc, you really need to be able to see as it comes to the boil. With this… Read more
microwave that is not possible. I feel that in an attempt to make this microwave look "funky" from they have completely sacrificed usability. Not sure why they put a window on this model at all.

Good classic sttyle microwave – Really solid traditional type of microwave from Samsung with a beautiful style to it. It does look nice but the main thing is it cooks VERY well indeed and never acts up. It has clear simple menus and a really nice touchpad too. Its nice when things "just work". Delivers the goods every time. Show details
Very happy wth this – We upgraded from a crappy old Aldi microwave to this and didn't look back. Its a pleasure to use in comparison and looks good in the kitchen to boot. Menus are very intuitive and I find the cooking times pretty much spot on. I really like the smart defrost that doesn't cook the food while defrosting - very good. Its fast on full power too. Overall very happy, literally no complaints. Show details
Love it! – Love this microwave, looks stunning! often find myself gazing at it like “what a stud muffin” very easy to clean, food wipes right off, heats consistently, quiet and looks and works like brand new after 4 and a half years. Only negative I would say is how you can’t properly see the contents inside when cooking as the door is too dark, have had… Read more
my cup of milk overflow many times trying to see inside but would miss it due to the the darkness.
Recently gave it to my Mum to replace her old one, purely out of personal opinion to not have a microwave in my house due to radiation.
Reliable microwave – Pro: Good, reliable microwave. I've used it for reheating leftovers and defrosting easily. Attractive button design which is easy to clean. Cons: Would prefer a quick start +30s button. Limited visibility during use which means telling how cooked something is is difficult. e.g. melting chocolate. Overall: would recommend, excepting those two bugbears above. Show details
Simple Microwave – Our last microwave died after three years of use. We have a Samsung TV at home and it works perfectly. So, we buy this Samsung microwave. This is also a model recommended by the sales person. it does the job. No problem with reheating or defrosting. I would recommend it. Show details
Does the job effortlessly – Having recently spent time living with a no-name microwave that never cooked anything correctly, returning to my Samsung ME6124 has reminded how fantastically it performs. It's always relatively quiet, very sturdy and well built, and has plenty of settings to scrutinize and make use of. The defrost ability works much better than previous… Read more
microwaves I have owned, although the confusing amount of settings makes it a bit obscuring to get the most out of it.
Expected better – Bought this microwave as it was good value for the large size I wanted. I'm happy with the power and how well it works. What I don't like is how loud it is when I am using & I also don't like how dark the light is - I can never see what is inside the microwave while I'm heating it! Show details
Great at first – Purchased this Samsung microwave in Mar, it was great at first. Six months later it broke down already and yet to get it serviced under warranty. At first it worked fine but the turntable did not turn that I had found it strange but was not bothered. Then after a few months, had a weird noise and stopped working and was hot at the back. Does the job – Use this every day cooking, heating up and defrosting. Quite a big microwave! Have had mine a couple of years and haven't had any issues with it! One draw back of this microwave would be the darkness of the, makes visibility poor. Makes keeping an eye on cooking a bit hard at times. Show details

Mediocre at best – I am not satisfied. It does not cook my food. The settings are a pain and the manual was non existent. The microwave is pretty quiet though, probably because it doesn't do anything. Its well built and sturdy, probably because its filled with concrete and not much else. Do not buy. Show details
Quite Disappointed! – Just bought a new ME6124W(-1) today. Bought this model because it has a glazed ceramic interior, and the price was good, but having unpacked it and tried it out, I am really disappointed. First, it says on the outside of the box: "One Touch Instant Cooking". Liked that, but it isn't. Have read the instruction book carefully, but it's not… Read more
mentioned. Our previous microwave was a Sharp, which definitely was. Close the door, press Start. Instant, one minute cooking. Press Start again, adds another minute. Great. This one is nothing like that. Pressing Start does nothing until you set the cooking time. It's Two Touch at best. Yes, you can add 30 seconds each press of the +30 button, which is ok, but not as advertised.
Second: it has a light inside. (That's about as far as it goes!) It's on when running. But it's utterly pointless. The microwave is brand new today, but the "glass" (plastic) window is so dark that even when the light is on, you can't see anything inside - at least, not in daytime. It's not even sunny today. All I can see is the faint glimmer from the lamp, but that's really not useful. I can't see the bowl going around, or anything.
Third: the interior is very dark grey. We accepted that because it's ceramic, but... Because it's dark inside, and the window is dark, well, I'm sure you get the picture. And, of course, being so dark, it's going to be much harder to keep clean. Sadly, this seems to be the current trend. Most current models we saw are dark inside.
Much preferred the Sharp in all above respects.
However, one thing I do really like:
If you leave the door open to let the oven 'air-out', the lamp turns off after a couple of minutes or so. Nice, power saving feature. Cooking seems ok. Noise level ok. Door closes nicely.
Super easy to clean and large capacity – I bought this 34L in July 2013 and it's been working fine since then!! The downside is that this microwave can be a bit noisy for some people, it's large capacity and ceramic internal are the highlights! 1000W also means that it cooks a lot quicker than other microwaves. It has a 345mm turntable diameter, so you can heat full dinner plates of food. Show details
Great product – Happy with the cooking results if this microwave. It is easy to use and understand. The microwave is very quiet sometimes I have to look to check it is on. When the food is cooked it dings but will ding again if the door isn't opened when the cooking time is finished which means you can't forget there is food in the oven. Overall very happy. ads – Good range of options in time settings right down to 1 second intervals , cool down function after cooking time completes cycle, no mute option for selection and time pads as a bit loud, heats better than older model. Good styling and modern appearance and turntable is stable when operating. Show details
Decent product – I have been using this product from some time and apart from 1 or 2 small issues it's been running smoothly. It is easier to operate and it's features are easier to understand. This microwave is not very loud and is sturdy built. Overall it is good buy as per the price. Show details
Bought in 2007, still going strong – We bought this microwave in 2007, and it's working as well today as when it was new. We're a family of six so it gets a pretty solid workout. The construction and materials are obviously very durable and it's pretty easy to clean. Spare parts are readily available - I noticed today that somehow we punched a hole in the waveguide cover, an easy DIY fix. Show details · 2
excellent – the ceramic enamel coating inside is good. east to open. easy to operate.Bad Points− a bit dark to see what's going on inside the oven. either the light inside is not bright enough, or the window/door is so darkly tinted. buttons are not friendly to operate to strangers. overall good. very reliable – I bought this microwave 2 years ago. not sure which model it was exactly but it is pretty good. another great product of Samsung. it is working every day without no failure. very quiet and reliable. I enjoy to worm a glass of milk or a frozen meal in a short time. Show details

Lacks power – Have to cook food longer than recommended for its watts. Only seems to cook the top of the food. Def not doing the job it should be. I cook same food at work, same wattage microwave and does the job. Easy to see the difference. Door so dark can't see anything inside when cooking. Show details
Good Microwave oven – Bought this oven 5 weeks ago, it cooks well enough, although not using the 'inverter' feature of the Panasonics. Setting it is easy but the pushbutton panel is made of cheap inflexible material and requires a larger effort to push than other brands. Noise level is average. A good feature is the reminder beep that reminds you to take out your food!… Read more
It's a dark colour inside which doesn't help when you're trying to see your food through the very dark door. The build quality is good, except for the plastic surround around the front perimeter, and the door itself, which is all plastic, feels flimsy and a bad fit. It's a cheap oven but does the job.
Meh – Bought it second hand in 2012. Has worked reliably for more than 4 years in my hands and was built in 2009 so is 7 years old. It has just failed with the common "SE" error. It worked well enough but as other reviewers have commented it is noisy and the light is useless. Door button feels cheap. All in all though it has been good enough and has some good cooking features and i would buy another if it was cheap. Show details
