We bought a Shelta Mini Maxi Auto Open Umbrella on 16/02/25. The spring was strong and my wife found it very difficult to open. On the second or third use, the entire umbrella broke and couldn't be reassembled. The online retailer refunded the price of the umbrella, but because it was bought with another Shelta umbrella, not the cost of freight. We've used a few personal sun umbrellas over the years but haven't had a problem like this previously. Show details
New part! – After 7 years our base part that turns the umbrella had died. After taking it to the Shelta office, we quickly had a replacement part and by the end of the day our umbrella was back working better than ever. Michele was very helpful and it was great thatchy had stock, so we did not have to wait. Show details
Buyer beware - stay away from Shelta Umbrellas – Bought a $1000+ umbrella in Nov 2021. 15 months later the stand is disintegrating. I asked for someone to discuss and understand options and received nothing..not even a call. I was told the 'servicing team would call me' but ive since called, sent emails and been ignored. Stand is so bad the integrity of the structure is at qn. If you have kids… Read more
and want to be safe near the pool then perhaps Shelta umbrellas arent for you. Their servicing and customer support is non existent.
The utmost profession and quick service experienced – Navigation of the site was easy finding my item quickly. The product range was easy to search and identify parts I needed. The part was shipped and received at lightening speed and was packaged beyond my expectation. Assembly of the part ordered was easy and my umbrella is back up and doing its job beautifully. Thank you to the team at Shelta especially through these hard times of Covid you did a great job Show details
Shelta Umbrella Stainless Steel and Granite Base – Purchased Shelta stainless steel and granite base. The Photo attached is 9 months outdoors. The base is 'stainless' steel yet is coated in lacquer from the manufacturer to protect it, but it has still rusted within 9 months outdoors. The photos show the base and handle. Can not recommend this base as it has not lasted even one year before looking quite rusted. Very low quality stainless steel.

Ravenna 4.0m x 3.0m rectangular shade umbrella – I purchased my 4.0m x3.0m Ravenna shade umbrella from Joyce Mayne at Belrose NSW in 2020. I have been perfectly satisfied with the product having used it constantly on our patio for two years. We experienced some minor fraying of the umbrella fabric at one corner and contacted Harvey Norman to enquire about repairs. We were advised that the SHELTA… Read more
umbrella fabric we had chosen had a 4 year warranty and we’re directed to the manufacturer. SHELTA were most helpful verifying the purchase, identifying the product, and accepting our claim. SHELTA customer support team processed a canopy replacement without hesitation. They were courteous and responded to all communications in a timely and efficient manner.
The SHELTA product is robust and certainly fit for purpose, the company had no hesitation replacing the canopy in accordance with the product guarantee.
I would certainly recommend SHELTA products without reservation, and state that my experience dealing with SHELTA customer support staff as being a professional and pleasant experience. I wish to thank SHELTA for their commitment to their product as they stated at the time of purchase.
A fantastic umbrella and a fantastic company! – We purchased a Lynden umbrella from Shelta in November 2019. We purchased from them because we had read so many reviews about cheaper umbrellas and how many had broken in a matter of months. We wanted a good quality product and Shelta's reputation preceded it for that. The umbrella has been fantastic. Sturdy, strong, reliable and it makes our… Read more
outside space really usable (because otherwise, the sun is just too strong to sit out).
We went to use the umbrella a few weekends ago and the umbrella would not rotate (as it is designed to do). We contacted Shelta and I was told that the rotate bearing had gone. Our product was out of warranty. The customer service I received from George at Shelta was fantastic. He explained the issue and said as a gesture of goodwill because the umbrella was not long out of warranty, he would provide the part at wholesale price. The part arrived in the mail a few days later, and it is easy for us to replace. I got an email this morning saying that George had spoken to his operations manager and they had decided as a gesture of goodwill to replace the part free of charge. I was very pleased to receive that email.
So, in summary, the quality of the product is great! And when there was an issue, Shelta sorted it out straight away. Great company!

Resin Wicker outdoor chairs – Buyer beware ... read the swing ticket smaller print carefully before making your selection ... unlike what I did! I bought eight comfortable SHELTA resin wicker chairs for outdoors some seven years ago at considerable expense with the intention of keeping them for many years. The chairs have had very limited use. The swing ticket states… Read more
prominently that they are OUTDOOR furniture. To me, OUTDOORS means OUTDOORS, as in not under cover. However it is not until one reads the inside of the swing ticket that it is obvious that they may only be used consistently outdoors if there is very limited contact with the sun. The salesperson unfortunately did not alert me to this fact. Mine were on a covered deck; however the sun shines onto the deck. The resin wicker on the horizontal surfaces on four of the chairs (at this stage) has not only split, but on the top of the backrests, it has also shrunk up to three centimetres in length. Shelta suggested gluing the sections together; however with three centimetres of wicker missing, this is not a possibility. Incidentally, I am told by Shelta that in excess of 23,000 of this particular chair have been sold, and that if there were any faults, the company would have known prior to this. I guess I am the only person to have made the inappropriate decision to buy these chairs for my unsuitable situation.
SHELTA's website also does little to indicate that the chairs must have very limited contact with sunshine. Two images display resin wicker chairs clearly out in the open. This seems to be misleading advertising. Be wary of these website images.

cant live without it – found it difficult to contact by phone however after turning up at the premises Michele and Kylie from spares were a pleasure to deal with
Customer service – Michele & Wayne at Pemulway, NSW were both professional, polite, helpful and above all really courteous whilst looking after me as a customer. Congratulations to them both. Highly recommend their customer service Show details
Umbrella base stem – I recently purchased 3 x Shelta Umbrellas, sadly the concrete bases I already owned were in a sad state, the stems which accept the umbrella pole were badly deteriorated, I was able to purchase 3 new stems complete with inserts etc, after a small modification (replaced M12 studs for M12 Hex Bolts) by me, the umbrellas sit proudly on the bases. Many thanks to Michele for assisting me. Show details

Disappointed – I recently bought the Fairlight 2700 in Taupe. The construction is good as can be, although I don't like the tilting feature because I have no use for it, and it makes the umbrella wobbly. However, the material of the canopy is disappointing. This umbrella is replacing the same Shelta Farlight that was many years old - maybe 6, maybe more -… Read more
can't remember. The old umbrella had a nice dense fabric. It gave good shade and was comfortable to look at and to sit under it. The current umbrella is much lighter, the shade is not as dense. Sitting under it and looking up is uncomfortable. The fabric is sort of shiny and hurts eyes on sunny days. It is sad that standards are lowered while prices are going up. It is not worth the $450 retail price. I was lucky to get discounted price of $300.

Harvey Norman not standing buy the products – Bought a AG35 cantilever umbrella in late November from Hervey Norman and the base rusted within 2 months leaving rust marks on our new concrete they won’t warrant it we believed it was rust resistant not true at $1500 I would have thought it would have taken a lot longer to rust I wish now I had just got one from Bunnings I’m sure they would have warranted it
It broke the very first time I used it – I received a nice new Shelta Umbrella for my birthday recently. But the very first time I used it, one of the struts was bent and it wouldn't open properly. It wasn't windy, and I got quite wet walking home from the station. I have no idea where it was purchased, except that it was somewhere in Melbourne. I am throwing it away, since the… Read more
manufacturer will not look at replacing it unless I can produce proof of purchase (which of course I don't have because it was a gift), plus they want me to spend a couple of hours driving to their office and back. UPDATE - I have no idea why this review has suddenly appeared dated April 2023. I posted it originally some 10 years ago.

We have a 15-year-old shelter outdoor umbrella. We have only just replaced the fabric for the second time and I wanted to get on here and say how great this umbrella is because of the available spare parts. You can replace bits and pieces for a reasonable price instead of throwing it in the bin like most other brands. They may cost more up front but they certainly go the distance. Show details
Went over to buy a couple of parts for my Shelta canter lever umbrella last week. The service was fantastic. Old school quality service from someone who knew their stuff. Well done guys. Show details
Needed a repair for our Shelta outdoor 3mt cantilever Umbrella after it was severely damaged by a storm. The team at Pemulwuy, Sydney led by Michelle and Brad were sensational and ensured our umbrella was fully fixed and functional. Very happy, freindly service for an umbrella that I almost threw away as I thought it was too damaged but not for these guys. Many thanks!! Great work!! Show details
Great service and love that they keep spare parts – Got a Shelta San Remo umbrella which needed a new part. Despite the umbrella being ten years old they still carry spares. Brilliant. Thanks to Michele for helping me out. Show details
Great daybed but no replacement cover available – We bought the Pagoda daybed 3-4 years ago. The product is brilliant , very comfortable and has even survivedvbeing blown into the deep end of the pool in strong winds. The reason for the 3 stars is the cover fell apart after a year . The shop we bought it from did find another cover for it and gave it to us. However after another year/18 months… Read more
that also came apart. Not designed to withstand the Aussie sun! Shelta do not provide replacement covers for purchase! The daybed is not a standard shape that any ‘daybed’ cover will fit. So we have it awkwardly covered by a tarp and our only option is to go custom made . Not impressed Shelta!!
Poor service and follow-up – This is not about the retailer, but Shelta head office. I had an issue with a concrete umbrella base that was it turns out, very poorly designed and failed after 2 years. Shelta head office basically ignored repeated requests, and when they did get in touch the advice was not relevant to the product I bought despite sending them copies of the… Read more
receipt and photos of the base. Best advice is to deal with the retailer if you can, but head office really needs to be more customer focused-for example responding to an email and or call in a timely manner...
The helpful and friendly service is incredible. WELL DONE !!! – I've owned a Shelta umbrella for the poast 9 years and it has been great but eventually the canopy began to decintegrate as expected , living in Perth. Good product but not in any wind – I purchased the savannah about 2 years ago and use it from time to time. It’s great in calm conditions. But as we live near the beach you can guarantee a strong sea breeze most afternoons, and it really struggles in the wind. We have anchored it to the ground really well with cememnt blocks and 2 physical bolts, but it still feels unstable in even… Read more
light wind. The really bad thing is the wind will really catch it when opening or closing, so if the wind picks up sometimes it is safer to leave it open. The wind situation is made very clear in the instructions, but worth noting as it is really problematic.
Spare Parts – Don't buy an umbrella with their name on. I bought one from BBQ's Galore & tried to get a new copy for it due to UV damage, they didn't reply to my email , then when I rang was told that the model I have was container stock supplied to BBQ"s Galore & no parts are available. So what they probably mean is that it is cheap crap from China. Show details

spare parts service doesn't exist – For 6 weeks I have been sending them emails about identifying a replacement canopy for my solarmax. Most have gone unanswered. After complaining via website I had a phone call (no apology or explanation mind you!) with a promise to check stock and see what was coming in. Guess what - no email. Terrible service, wouldnt buy from shelta again.

Great Customer service – I contacted Customer service about replacing the Canopy of my Shelta umbrella of unknown type and waterproof covers of that and another umbrella. George was very helpful, provided instructions on how to remove and replace the canopy (which surprisingly was very easy and a one person job) and where to buy covers. So wonderful to be able to not have to replace the whole umbrella which is otherwise functioning perfectly. Well done Show details
