Communication was good if it suited her, took weeks to get back to me to book in after she cancelled, then I was blocked from their page when I said I wasn’t happy so no need to follow up as we wouldn’t book again. Which explains why they only have 5 star reviews on social media. They block anyone who hints at anything less. I’m in shock at how poor the whole experience has been.

She attended when she said she would (quickly), was efficient without cutting corners, went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied before leaving and each item I asked for was attended to. I’ve been a property manager for 16 years so my expectations were high - I’m pleased they were exceeded.

due to the allocated cleaner having a personal emergency (understandable). Unfortunately, the same cleaner returned and delivered a job that could best be described as enthusiastically incomplete. Skirting boards untouched, obvious wall marks ignored, kitchen drawer fronts skipped entirely, dust still sitting in corners, no fan wipe down and the mop clearly just waved at some areas from across the room.
Speaking of the mop, unless it came straight from a swamp, it definitely wasn’t sanitised. The floors were left with a distinct mildewy aroma, which really added a new sensory layer no one asked for.
This was clearly a rushed job. How do I know? The cleaner left her spray bottle behind. Nothing screams “quality workmanship” like abandoning your tools mid-escape.
I contacted [Name Removed] and provided photos (because unfortunately, imagination wasn’t required). [Name Removed] was apologetic, acknowledged the cleaner [Name Removed] more training, and offered to personally re-clean the home — but only using the standard package. Not ideal, but fine. We booked it in. [Name Removed] contacted us stating she had a migrane and asked to rebook… i reluctantly agreed to her next available in 2 weeks.
The day before the re-clean, [Name Removed] messaged saying she was unwell and overwhelmed with bookings, so she had to cancel and would reschedule once she felt better. Fair enough… except two days later she was advertising same-week availability online. Curious.
That was back in early November 2025. It’s now January 2026. I think it’s safe to say the follow-up clean is as mythical as the “Mother of All Cleans” itself.
After the excuses, inconsistencies, and overall poor quality, I decided not to chase it further. The grand result? $425 down the drain, more cleaning for me to do, and a complimentary bottle of disinfectant spray which, ironically, was the cleanest thing in the house.
I really wish I didn’t have to write this review, as I know small businesses can do it tough and deserve a second chance. But the excuses and events that unfolded for an initial clean and then the owner promising to do a reclean, then ghosting me is unacceptable.
Please do your homework before booking a cleaning service. Read reviews (including the many similar ones under this business). I do not recommend this company and genuinely hope you don’t make the same mistake I did.

We have used Cherry and her amazing team for over a year now and every clean has been amazing! They are responsive, thorough and super flexible if we need to change days etc We have tried so many cleaners in the past and all were unreliable and not worth the pain even if cheap- cheap for a reason!! asked to use my mop as she didn’t have one and the mop bucket was left in laundry sink still full with dirty water after clean. After inspecting once clean had been completed I paid for tracks to be cleaned in which wasn’t cleaned satisfactory flies and dirt in tracks etc. please note my house is only 3 1/2 years old and is kept very tidy as an be seen by my last picture I take great pride in my house. Fans weren’t cleaned still dirt on blades and stuff found on my rug. One of the windows still had specks residue on that I could scrap off with my nail. as I wouldn’t be present during the clean. On the scheduled day, she advised she needed to reschedule to the following day due to a migraine.
When she arrived the next day, she sent photos and advised she wanted an additional $250 on top of the agreed price, stating the property was in “extremely poor condition.” This was despite the fixed price already being agreed upon based on photos provided beforehand.
[Name Removed] repeatedly claimed there were “pubic hairs everywhere.” For clarity, the unit had recently had furniture removed by removalists, and any hair present would have been normal body or beard hair that came out from under furniture or the couch during removal. I did not vacuum immediately after the removalists left, as I had booked a bond clean specifically for that day and expected this to be handled as part of the service.
I explained that I could not afford the additional amount immediately and asked for a refund so I could arrange another cleaner. [Name Removed] refused, stating she had already been on site for several hours. She advised that if I could not pay the extra amount while she was there, she would leave out the bathroom and laundry.
Despite disputing the price change, I attempted to organise the funds because I urgently needed the bond clean completed. When I messaged asking if she was still on site, she advised she had already left and that the bathroom and laundry were not done.
The following morning, I received multiple aggressive messages claiming she had not been paid. The transfer had been made on a Saturday evening and was still pending at that time.
When I returned to the apartment, I found multiple agreed areas had not been completed, including areas outside the bathroom and laundry. These included the inside of the microwave, which had only been cleaned on the outside, the inside of kitchen cupboards, bedroom window sills where the blind had not even been lifted, blu-tac residue still on the living room wall from a poster, and areas at the back of the property that appeared untouched.
I arranged a walkthrough with my property manager, who confirmed several areas were missed. Photos were taken, and the agency arranged their preferred cleaner to rectify and redo the work.
Due to the incomplete service and escalating behaviour, I disputed the pending payment with the bank. After this, I received further abusive messages and began receiving calls and texts from unknown numbers accusing me of scamming.
I then discovered [Name Removed] had posted my full name, phone number, and accusations across Facebook, TikTok, and other social media platforms, encouraging others to contact and harass me. I have repeatedly requested that contact cease.
Not only was the job not completed as agreed, the price was changed after arrival, a refund was refused, and the situation escalated into online harassment. This experience was extremely distressing and unprofessional.
I would strongly caution others to ensure all pricing is locked in writing and that the full scope of work is clearly confirmed before booking.

Offering a $30 refund isn’t appropriate, as multiple items included in the service were not completed. trying to understand how this is my issues, when you trust the cleaning company to do this.

before my daughter’s chemotherapy. I was told payment was required the same day as the clean. • 25 August, 1:15 PM – I booked the “Mother of Cleans” package. This also included cleaning the walls and surfaces in my daughter’s bedroom due to her starting chemotherapy. I was very clear about the chemo and the immune-compromised nature of my daughter and our home. • 25 August, later that day – I was asked for a $100 deposit to secure the date (4 September). I paid and sent confirmation. • 3 September – I was reminded that the balance of $660 was due. I paid this, making my total paid $760. • 3 September, 9:38 PM – The night before the clean, I was told the business owner’s son had vomited. Given my daughter’s compromised immune system, I replied that I could not risk exposure and asked for a refund. I was told: “Please send details and I’ll get that refunded first thing in the morning.” There had also never been any mention of alternative staff being available the next day. • 4 September, 7:19 AM – I was offered a different worker, but by that time I was already completely overwhelmed trying to get my house cleaned on my own. I had started the big clean myself the night before when I got the notice of cancellation, using my own last energy to get it done. I no longer needed the service and confirmed I just wanted a refund. • 10 September – the business page posted publicly about being on holiday in Darwin, while I was still waiting on a refund. • 11 September – Having received no refund, I followed up. Not only did I not get the clean I needed prior to chemo starting (and have to do it myself), I have also had to chase up a refund which has still not been paid, and she keeps telling me different dates, but no monies have been paid. She NEVER mentioned a non-refundable deposit, asked me to check her page for any terms and conditions, or had me sign a contract. She promised a refund multiple times but 2 weeks later it's still not paid back. And has now introduced the concept of a non-refundable deposit. I can understand that being a small business owner is tough, but in this case it was completely out of my control that her son was sick. My neighbour told me she was in and out in a couple of hours - for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath.
When the real estate requested she return to fix the missed cleaning, which she had offered, she claimed those parts “couldn’t be cleaned” and “the place is just old”.
But some areas clearly hadn’t been attended to. Despite paying for a professional service, I ended up doing significant cleaning myself after her.
When I voiced my concerns, she became defensive saying “I usually don’t deal with clients like this”.
This experience was time-consuming, emotionally draining, and financially stressful — leaving me literally in tears!
I do NOT recommend Shine and Perfection for any cleaning.

clean aircons, clean fans, the bathrooms were EMPTY- so had absolutely no excuse. all of the usual bond clean stuff- as I said renting through dha so don’t get a bond back as we don’t pay one- but just wanted everything clean that bond cleans normally involve.
After 5 hours of ‘cleaning’ she ended up having to leave to attend to her family. there was only 2 rooms and a bathroom that wasn’t complete. We were fine with this at first as she said she would reschedule or send her other worker to finish We came home and found that the things she said she had done were not done!!! + added a stain to our carpet. We proceeded to contact her politely asking to clarify what was done and what had not. After confronting/sending pictures of her unsatisfactory performance she then became defensive and started making excuses, saying our house was in VERY POOR CONDITION, multiple times, saying our window tracks were too “built up”and that’s why they weren’t clean, she didn’t take off the windows and behind them they were absolutely filthy. She lied to us and said she did the walls, the walls were not clean, she also only did 2 out of 3 aircons.
She then said that we’re taking it too personally and would only offer a $150 refund out of $900! or for someone to finish her mistakes. We did not want her business returning to our house after the way she unprofessionally replied to us and the results of her work in the first place.
We have also found out that in the 5 hours of cleaning she managed to make a Tik Tok doing a product review in our kitchen. After posting this to social media asking for advice it seems that we aren’t the only family to be taken advantage of - after this she has sent threatening messages aswell.

[Name Removed] to say her staff member was 'overwhelmed' at a prior job and could no longer do my clean that day as well. What? They requested to reschedule to the following week. I advised that would not work as it was for a party that weekend, which is why I had booked over a month in advance to secure my date and time. [Name Removed] stated she had availability the following day and would be at my place 'towards lunch'. No worries. I had an appointment at 10am, but knew I would be home 'towards lunch' as organised by [Name Removed].
That following day, my phone began blowing up at 10:35am. [Name Removed], the cleaner, had arrived to do my clean and I was not home. I advised [Name Removed] I was not home and 10:35am is no where close to lunch time. She said her staff member waited as long as she could and had to leave. They offered to reschedule to following week and I advised I would no longer require the clean as I needed it done by that weekend. [Name Removed] said she would be charging me a cancellation fee as well as travel fees and a cost for time wasted at my property with no one home. I requested a full refund as the entire situation and ultimate cancellation was a result of multiple errors on her and her business' part. This was promptly declined.

Removed] within the hour with photos and asked her to return or offer a reduced rate, but she stopped replying.
Since we were leaving the country, we had to postpone the inspection and spend 10 hours cleaning ourselves. Only after I sent a formal complaint days later did I get a dismissive response — along with a Facebook post falsely claiming the clean was “spotless” and “perfect.”
I’ve submitted a formal complaint to Queensland Fair Trading and have over 70 photos and full message records to support everything.
I do not recommend this business.

When I reached out to express my concerns regarding the incomplete tasks, instead of addressing the specific issues, they redirected the conversation, gave excuses instead of solutions and thanked me for my feedback without taking any action. After persistently asking for them to return and complete the remaining tasks, they finally agreed to come back to address just one of the issues, but it has now been over a week with no further response to my follow-up messages.
One warning I would offer to potential customers is their payment policy, which requires upfront payment before any cleaning takes place. This seems to suggest that once they've received payment, they may not have the same level of commitment to completing the job as promised and have a no refund policy.
In summary, my experience has been frustrating and unsatisfactory. Their lack of follow-through on commitments and inadequate cleaning service and professionalism is concerning. I would recommend considering other options if you’re looking for a reliable and thorough cleaning company.

When I asked for a refund, she immediately stopped responding and ignored every message that followed, and she never provided a refund. 'had an appointment that she had forgotten to put on her calendar', and she said she would refund my deposit within 3-5 days.
Well, it took 3 weeks and multiple messages, texts and emails to get a response back and to finally get my refund. There was no acknowledgement of the inconvenience caused. I would have been mortified as a business owner to cancel and then not refund straight away.
I have since seen on our community page that this company has a history of cancelling, not refunding and generally [Content Removed] people out of money.
I would strongly recommend you not use this company!
